“Enemy of the State”: ABC Network Up To Old Tricks; But HAYDEN CONFIRMED to HEAD CIA

By
Surprise, surprise. ABC is up to it’s old tricks again.
Tomorrow night, the network will broadcast “Enemy of the State,” a PRE-9/11 movie whose plot involves sinister NSA agents tapping the all telecommuncations, etc. of an innocent labor lawyer (whose wife just so happens to be an ACLU lawyer) and making his life hell–all to cover up a murder of a U.S. Senator who opposed more lax surveillance legislation.
Is it just me . . . or do you notice that ABC picks “coincidental” times to run certain programming?
The last time ABC ran this 1998 movie . Strange that the network is now running it again when the network believed that Michael Hayden, recent NSA Chief, would still be up for confirmation as CIA Chief. But the joke’s on ABC programmers with an obvious political agenda. Today, Hayden was confirmed by the U.S. Senate by a vote of 78-15.

ABC’s Hollywood Paranoia Tries to Obscure REAL Enemies of the State

–circa :

The movie’s posters say, “It’s not paranoia if they’re really after you.”
But . . . “Enemy of the State” was written and appeared in theaters in 1998, well before 9/11. ABC is still living–with that movie–in a pre-9/11 world. In that film, the enemies were villains in the NSA.

Today’s real enemies are Islamic terrorists that want to destroy us. Almost 5 years after 9/11, ABC has forgotten.
“American” Broadcasting Company? Not really.

Do you see NO irony in letting NSA spy, warrantless, on American citizens in order to stop those who would “take away our freedoms?” Between the NSA spying and provisions of the ridiculously mis-named Patriot Act, America is doing a fine job of systematically dismantling its own freedoms without waiting for terrorists to do a thing but sit back & watch.

Enemy of the State is a cool movie. Although underrated, it’s a fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat thriller that’s always watchable! I own the DVD, and watch it every time it comes on TV. Aside from being entertaining, it is still very relevant in post-9/11 America. The ABC network is not living in pre-9/11 America by airing this movie. True, the real enemies are the terrorists; however, they aren’t the only enemies. Other enemies include those in the U.S. government who knew about the pending 9/11 attacks and didn’t act swift enough to prevent it; those in the U.S. government who did something to irk the people that planned those attacks; and the NSA for trying to invade the American people’s privacies by tapping phones and e-mails, and conducting unwarranted searches in people’s homes on the basis of “the Patriot Act”. The NSA SHOULD NOT be allowed to tap people’s phones/emails or conduct illegal searches. Instead, the US gov’t should focus it’s energy on having tighter airport/airplane security and go after the Taliban / Al qeida based on what the US gov’t knows. Granted, the NSA are allowed to have videocameras on every street corner. However, I want the NSA out of my home and off my telephone line and computer.
No, I’m not an Arab. I’m not pro-Muslim or anti-American. I believe in the fight against terror. We can win this fight without having the NSA spying on the U.S. people. If people are threatening national security, they will be dealt with severely.
Also, if our troops are in Iraq, shouldn’t we at least have a discount on gas prices? Our troops are in the land of oil! Since we’re there, we should somehow get the price of oil down to the American people’s preference. Just an opinion!
For the record, I am for intense airport security.
ENEMY OF THE STATE IS ONE OF WILL SMITH’S BEST MOVIES!!!! DOWN WITH INVASION OF PRIVACY!!!!!

Another thing: who gives a damn if Hayden is re-elected as NSA chief. The wrong people are sometimes elected into public office (i.e. George Bush). The people to fear are the ones who put these guys into office.
Whatever ABC’s agenda is, if there is one, it doesn’t take away from the fact that “Enemy of the State” is a kick-ass movie. Whatever your opinion is, it’s still an entertaining thriller!

davyboy; talk about having your head in the sand.sit and watch your little film,at the edge-of your -fat ass _seat.I still have nothing to hide. Why do you?

danny on May 28, 2006 at 10:35 pm

ABC does not stand for “Arab Broadcasting Company”. It stands for American Broadcasting Company and they’re not deceiving the “infidels”.

Daveyboy:and how cool daveyboy.ON TAPE OR ON ABC YOU ALWAYS KNOW A BREAK IS COMMING SO YOU CAN PISS.Grab a beer for me on your way back .

danny on May 28, 2006 at 10:39 pm

Whether I have anything to hide isn’t the point; they have no reason or warrant to be in my business. What happened on 9/11 has nothing to do with me. 9/11 happened because terrorists were able to get around weak airport security. Just because terrorists got over airport security that day doesn’t give the NSA the right to invade my privacy or anybody else’s privacy. The NSA’s excuse to wiretap our phones because of 9/11 is bull. This is clearly an issue of airport security. That’s probably the only place where invasion of privacy is warranted (at least as far as what people are bringing on the plane).

unwarranted, unlawfull, privacies taken,U S govt knew of 9\11,….etc : I want everyone’s line watched every part.the rules have changed . daveyboy you forgot the main thing THE JEW”S .Right? The Jew’s.Well the fact is every one in my U.S.A. has got to have nothing to hide or ????

danny on May 28, 2006 at 10:56 pm

What you have to hide is the point.and 9\11 has everything to do with america. But why not you davyboy?wiretap our phones and computers, why the fu.k not?Because, you + your’s have got something to hide. How in the hell can you say “what happened on 9/11 has nothing to do with me”.Just because the religion of peace got past airport security? That’s reason enough why We Will Watch everything and everyone ;daveyboy to bad.”Love it or leave it”

danny on May 28, 2006 at 11:17 pm

Don’t get me wrong; there ARE millions of people in this country who have something to hide, or confess disturbing secrets over the telephone or are planning something horrible. However, the authorities have the power to take reasonable security precautions AND to stop something from going down. In the case of 9/11, airport security should have X-rayed every single bag for any sharp objects. They probably X-rayed all of them, but those boxcutters were probably well-hidden.
Fortunately, now in post-9/11 America, pilots and air marshals are allowed to carry guns on every flight. So if any wacked-out terrorist group actually executes their terrorist plan, they will be taken down before they get the opportunity to commmandeer the plane.
You shouldn’t put down all Jews. Most Jews are good, hard-working people. Of course, as with any ethnic or religious group, there are the good, the bad, & the twisted. Any bad or twisted individual from any ethnic or religious group that is caught doing bad will be knocked the f**k out.

daveyb on May 28, 2006 at 11:36 pm

How will they be knocked out?If we don’t watch? That’s right davyb, will wait for them at the airport. But come on daveyb, between you and me, we know it starts with the jew’s.I mean a security minded person like you knows that.

danny on May 29, 2006 at 12:24 am

“You shouldn’t put down all jews”.I know daveyb,it’s just the zionist one’s.

I’m surprised no one mentioned that the birthdate listed for Brill in the movie was 9/11/40. I just find it all a little creepy that that date was used in this pre-9/11 film, don’t you?

k9gardner on June 18, 2007 at 12:57 am

I just know I’m not going to stop until I reach my goal of 200 lbs by my 50th birthday. ,
