Ghost of O.J.’s Jury: Moussaoui Jury Delibs, Day 7

By
**** UPDATE: Moussaoui Lives! As we predicted, the U.S. Dept. of Non-Justice failed yet again in prosecuting the War on Terror. Moussaoui: “America, you lost. … I won.” He’s right. And the jury is probably worse than O.J.’s. A shameful day for America.****
Today is Day SEVEN(!) of jury deliberations in the Moussaoui trial. If they cannot reach a decision, Moussaoui will NOT be put to death and will, instead, spend life in prison, where he can recruit new jihadists.
Since a jury week is five business days, we are not coming up on 1.5 weeks of deliberations. As time goes by, it becomes less likely that they will vote for death for Moussaoui. That the jury could not decide within a half-hour to put this conspirator in mass murder to death is bad news, regardless of the verdict. It is yet another failure for the Department of (Non)Justice, which has had a series of monumental failures in prosecuting terrorists.
One wonders what is taking the jury so long. Since their behavior reminds us of the O.J. jury, we have to ask:
Are they spending their time looking for “the real killers”?

White *volk*’s conception of jail is amazing!!!
Despite the Amerikkklan dream to have EVERY Black man in jail…the prison population is NOT monolithically Black, and of all the Blacks in jails, not as many as you think are members of that Nation of Islam…although they SHOULD be!!!
ANYONE who senselessly kills women & children are prime target in jail, but then there is the niggling FACT that Moussaoi is a LIAR looking to be a MARTYR…and while i didn’t have to see the Fox “news” spin on brothers exercising their 2nd Amendment rights outside of Duke to KNOW that the Constitution don’t apply to Black folk…WHY would i think that the state has to take up the burden of proof when it comes to lynching a Nigro???

EminemsRevenge on May 3, 2006 at 3:06 pm

It’s amazing that some juries can find guilty a drug dealer who kills another drug dealer knowing he will get the death penalty, but this issue is taking them 7 days….UNBELIEVABLE

Well, there is a bright side to this…J O S H U A P U N D I T: Moussaoui Gets Life

Freedom Fighter on May 3, 2006 at 7:39 pm

Well there is a bright side to this..instead of getting the 72 virgins, Moussaoui is going to BE the virgin, if you get my drift! 😉

Freedom Fighter on May 3, 2006 at 7:41 pm

I think that he should be placed in the general prison population. With luck, he will be beaten up every day by the other inmates for the rest of his pathetic life.
When Moussaoui dies, may he be greeted by 72 old whores who all look like Yasser Arafat.

I believe others have said this, but death would be what Moussaoui wants. I’d rather not give him anything he wants.
Second, and reasonable people can debate this, but I feel a government that feels it has the right to take life, philosophically also has the right to keep someone alive against their will. As a conservative, I believe the federal government should have neither power, nor should any government at any level.

hqsbud on May 3, 2006 at 9:35 pm

Whether he wants it or not, I’d give him death. I just find it odd people think what Moussaoui thinks should have any bearing on his punishment, which should be the death penalty.
I feel the government has a right and duty to take a murderer’s life and to protect innocent life because life is sacred. If the government can’t punish murderers, why should they be able to impose any penalty, then?
(Heh heh, someone I know is not getting the attention he craves!)

The_Man on May 3, 2006 at 10:06 pm

That’s a false dichotomy. Anyway, if life is sacred (which I don’t believe; if a dog, for example, is born severely deformed, wouldn’t removing its life be the most humane thing to do?), then there’s even more reason not to put anyone, even a heinous murderer, to death. Vengeance is a manifestation of feminine emotionalism, rather than cold analysis. The government should only be in the business of cold analysis, and that at only the minimum level to maintain a civilized society.
To me, anyway. I realize there are no absolutes with this argument.

hqsbud on May 3, 2006 at 10:22 pm

The sob lives! Hope somebody kills him in prison.

anonymous twit on May 3, 2006 at 11:56 pm

Give me a break…HUMAN life.
The reason I believe it is righteous to put murderers to death is because it demonstrates that life is so sacred that if you willingly take someone’s life you must forfeit yours.
Call vengeance whatever “high minded” term you wish, if it’s righteous vengeance, I see nothing wrong with it.
I don’t mean this in a mean spirited way, but I am glad people like you with wishy washy opinions aren’t in position to make these types of decisions. I have a lot of disagreements with President Bush, but I am glad he didn’t sit on his rear and took some decisive vengeance, yes vengeance!, on our enemies. I am also glad we took out some vengeance on Hitler, Japan after Pearl Harbor, and other fine acts of vengeance.

The_Man on May 3, 2006 at 11:56 pm

This decision is an outrage. Moussaoui alive is a magnate for the other Jihadists who will commit acts of terror demanding that he be freed. He will become a minor celebrity in jail where he can be used as a recruiting tool for Islam. Remember, American jails are hotbeds of Islamic conversion becasue Islam appeals to the Ignorant and those who feel that they are oppressed is some way. Moussaoui took great glee in the pain and suffering of the victims of 9/11 and their families. He taunted them in court. He is a truly vile and evil individual. If he were to be executed, in a year, nobody would remember who he was. Now he becomes the poster boy of Islam’s triumph over the Great Satan. We will be perceived as weak by the Muslim world. This is precisely why Moussaoui and his ilk should be tried by a military tribunal and not in civil court. He committed and act of war, not a civil crime.

AMERICA, YOU LOST!
Once again Alberto (our seemingly incompetent but PC AG) has his lunch eaten With Albertoís abysmal lack of success in cases relating to the War on Terror you have to question my liberal Presidentís commitment . It seems more and more to have all been a disingenuous political flim flam; all be it a successful flim flam. Only batting is baseball is a success rate less than 500 considered good. In fielding a good rate is 999 and in the technical side of business (Accounting, ISÖ) you need 99999 or better to be a success. With Albertoís string of losses the last 12 month he is just under 500.
My liberal President obviously put quotas ahead of the War on Terror. With the Dubai cases (plural as in more than one) it seems Bush does not even have the War on Terror in his to ten list of priorities! As the Scotch have been saying for over 1500 years îactions speak louder than wordsî. Bushís liberal actions the last 16 months are shouting over his conservative words of 24 months ago!

Rod on May 4, 2006 at 7:55 am

There will be no ‘prison justice’ he is going to a super-max in Colorado and will join Kaninski (Unibomber). 23 hrs of solitary and 1 hour of yard time a day. No contact with any other prisoners.

hunkpapa on May 4, 2006 at 10:41 am

You’ve made me feel a little better hunkpapa, but not much. As a survivor of the 71st floor of 1WTC on 9/11 I have been watching this trial closely and hoping for retribution. I just can’t help but think that as long as he is alive some ACLU lawyer will some day bring suit to have him freed from the “Cruel and Unusual” punishment we are inflicting on him. All it takes is one federal judge with a liberal viewpoint and Moussaui can walk. I am Christian, but in this case I agree with my Jewish brothers, “An eye for an eye”!

Architect on May 4, 2006 at 10:49 am

Chalk up another one for the LIBERALS on the jury. This asinine verdict was as much about the death penalty as it was about Mouse-aoui. This jury, made up of guilt-ridden LIBERALS, made their statement loud and clear about their view by not giving it to Mouse-aoui.
9/11 was, to a large degree, the result of LIBERALISM, LIBERALS, and their PC doctrine that has infected every facet of American life. These same LIBERALS are hindering the war on terrorism with their calls for closing Gitmo, banning forceful interrogation, screaming about Abu Ghraib but remaining silent everytime a Muzlum slices off someone’s head.
These same LIBERALS, like Kennedy, Klintoon, etc., are giving aid and comfort to our enemies by criticizing every move Bush makes in his prosecution of the war.
LIBERALS Hate America!

Thee_Bruno on May 4, 2006 at 11:09 am

We could at least take some comfort in the fact that this 7th century barbarian, Mouse-aoui, will be confined to solitary confinement for the rest of his life at Supermax.
He’s relegated to a small room for 23 hours a day and will have contact with no one except the guards.

Thee_Bruno on May 4, 2006 at 11:13 am

Unless of course, as I said previously, some ACLU type gets him freed. His incarceration may not be as permanant as we would like. Dead is forever. If we make him a martyr, so what?! I suspect there will be quite a few martyrs made before we are through with the war on terror.

Architect on May 4, 2006 at 11:50 am

I didn’t expect my prediction to be correct so fast. AP has just run a story that the French government will seek his extradition so that he can serve his “Life Sentence” in France. Anyone have any doubt whatsoever that the instant some French citizen is kidnapped and held hostage, the cheese eating surrender monkeys would trade him?! I hope our government has the intestinal fortitude to say no.

Architect on May 4, 2006 at 11:58 am

The French can go pound salt!
The Frogs want him so they can put him up in a penthouse jail all so they can curry favor with the 7th century barbarians infesting that country.
No, this Moroccan piss ant stays here. This barbarian came here, plotted here, trained here, and was caught here. All of this happened here, not in France, so he satys here!
Any overtures to send this savage to France would be met with an outcry from the American people no one has seen.
Thanks for the story, Architect.

Thee_Bruno on May 4, 2006 at 12:13 pm

Now, gentlemen, the French are some of hqsbud’s role models.
They don’t manifest the feminine emotionalism of vengeance when they are threatened. They always do the honorable thing and surrender like cowards…heh heh heh.

Jeff_W on May 4, 2006 at 1:16 pm

Moussaoui’s victory is a huge defeat to America not only because of the islamic propaganda benefit and emotional reasons like vengeance (not that there is anything wrong with it) and deterrent (which it is) but for the very simple reason of preventing future American deaths.
Moussaoui has enough street cred to rule Supermax
and recrute new followers for the short time that he is going to stay incarcerated (remember that lawyers have unlimited number of attempts to ‘correct this inJustice’ and spring him free. Another big problem is the jury selection. Something really has to be done about it. I went to jury duty because I wanted to find out first hand what is going on and what I saw was a panel of 200 potential jurors to go in and only 4 juros selected because everybody else were too normal. But as soon as anybody says something incredibly stupid they will be selected. And the french…don’t even remind me of them as i still cannot get over Ira Einhorn.

sk on May 4, 2006 at 1:30 pm

Another false dichotomy, Jeff_W.
If you study your history, one of the most notorious acts of vengeance in world history was carried out by French citizens, replacing one dark period of their history with an arguably even darker period for a short time. So all of you saying that vengeance is a great thing are the ones following the French model.
So, if Moussaoui is put to death, or in jail for the rest of his life, how does that impact all of our lives? Cold analysis says: not at all. Emotionalism says…well, we see it right here.
You guys really don’t think much of this country. He goes to jail for life, says some meaningless pithy things, and suddenly you all say America loses. I say he goes to jail for life, he can rot there, his buddies there can do what they want with him, makes no difference to me or anyone else on this side of that prison wall–except that Bush can finally claim one 9/11 conviction, which is a win for him. None of you seem to want to give him that, but as much as I hate Bush, I gladly give him that victory.

hqsbud on May 4, 2006 at 6:47 pm

Nice try, hqsbud.
Cute twisting of words, and your continued inclusion of “dichotomy” earns you a bonus point, but your arguments are just plain silly as you are aware and you just are looking for attention.

The_Man on May 4, 2006 at 10:38 pm

Oo! I like that debating style! Were you on debate team? Let me try it. Ahem…
The_Man, your arguments are ridiculous, and you know it! You’re just grabbing at straws. So there.
Well, I guess I showed *you* a thing or two.

hqsbud on May 5, 2006 at 12:33 am

hqsbud
It is going to cost the American people about 5 million dollars to keep this terrorist in prison.
I volunteer to reduce that expense for the cost (.15) of a 9mm bullet to his head.
He should have faced JUSTICE from a firing squad not a bunch idiots that thought his childhood was bad.
People in this country have become whimps.

ScottyDog on May 5, 2006 at 11:24 am

That’s a double secret false dichotomy, ScottyDog.
If you study your history, the ancient Zimbooey tribe of Umgama engaged in ritual acts of ritual vengeance that resulted in, uh, some bad stuff.
So, I’ll keep it short and pithy like the intellectual I am and say I just disagree because, uh, well it’s just cooler I guess and common sense is not cool to wannabe intellectuals like me.

Jeff_W on May 5, 2006 at 1:25 pm

Because most rational people wanted Mouse-aoui to get the death penalty, others use it as an opportunity to disparage us by calling it “vengeance”. They falsely use these semantics to disguise their true left-wing ideology – LIBERALS are opposed to the death penalty – so they label anyone who’s for it as blood-thirsty Neanderthals bent on “vengeance”.
However, it is NOT “vengeance” – it is JUSTICE! But, when are LIBERALS ever for truth and justice? LIBERALS only engage in lies and grievance-hustling.

Thee_Bruno on May 5, 2006 at 5:45 pm

Neanderthals? Who said Neanderthals? Who said blood-thirsty? For God’s sake, why does everyone here take everything so personally?
You want to take something personally? Fine. You guys are a bunch of fragile flowers, hurt by any disagreement.
I’m just an A-hole with some stupid opinions. Why get so upset about that?

hqsbud on May 6, 2006 at 11:24 am

You’re so cute and clever, hqsbud.
