Non-Hot Chili Pepper: A Real FLEA-bag Supports Iran; Calls for Bush Impeachm’t

By
While a lot of commentators are rightfully exercised at the absurd Neil Young song calling for Bush’s impeachment, they’ve overlooked an even bigger rock’n’roll FLEA-Bag.
Flea, bassist for rock/pop’s “Red Hot Chili Peppers,” shows the world he’s the real thing: a genuine insect.
Flea, whose real name is Michael Balzary–and whom we like to call “Underwearman” (for reasons posted below)–is apparently not an expert in playing bass. He’s a terrorism expert, too. And with his Middle Eastern surname and bass guitar, he’s surely qualified. Right?
Flea, who named his illegitimate daughter “Sunny Bebop,” says that Americans who wanted the U.S. to fight in Iraq are not “decent.” He claims that “Iraq was sanctioned to death.” My FAVORITE part of fleabag’s pontifications:

why dont [sic] they just leave the iranians alone [sic]

Flea: The Non-Human Version is SOOOOO Much More Appealing.

Remember that, if you ever buy another silly Chili Peppers CD. Hopefully, Fleabag will remember that when Iran’s soon-to-be-complete nuclear weapons make impact and he’s vaporized.
One wonders if Flea agrees with Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s views that the Holocaust never happened, his statements about Jews and Israel, and his Holocaust cartoon contest. Someone should ask him.

Flea: Portrait of a Foreign Policy Expert/Ahmadinejad Supporter

Last week, Fleabag/Balzary sent the following e-mail to Red Hot Chili Peppers fans and posted it on the group’s website:

04.19.06 Fleamail April 19, 2006
Date: Wed, April 19
Subject:
From: “Michael Balzary”
To: members@redhotchilipeppers.com
george w bush should definitely be impeached
he is a liar

and his lies have bought misery to millions of people
and bought [sic] no good to anyone except for the corporate oil
billionaires who are making huge profits
they are profiting during wartime
that is unscrupulous and terribly sad
w bush has made the world a much less safe place
before the war iraq was not a place for terrorists
saddam hussein, brutal dictator that he was was secular and had
nothing to do with al queda [sic]
and was sanctioned to death
and had no power outside of his country
now it is a breeding ground for terrorism and anti-americanism is at
an all time high all over the world
and the people of iraq are no better off at all
all those people want is for the americans to leave
decent families and people like you and i who never wanted america
there in the first place

goerge w bush has sent american soldiers over there to be maimed and
killed
only to serve his selfish oil company needs and for his ego
american soldiers who are loyal to each other and who only want to
have a good job get an education and support their country are being
used for an unjust cause
i support the troops
they, like all americans are being betrayed by george w bush
he has betrayed his country he should be impeached

the administration’s line that they were over there because they
wanted to spread democracy and freedom
is nothing else besides a lie

if they had any interest at all in the well being of other human beings
they would be doing what they could for people who desperately need
and would love help in africa
i pray to god that george w bush and his administration does not
invade iran
it would be a bloodbath
why dont they just leave the iranians alone
and go through the united nations

[DS: Yes, those U.N. sanctions work really well. Just ask Saddam.]

and work on making the united nations as strong and as just as possible
an invasion of iran would be the worst possible thing that could happen
i pray to god that it does not happen
i am just another guy sitting in the car on the english motorway

Just another guy? Uh-huh. More like, just another Fleabag.
Flea has a blog at the NBA website. Flea’s blog is gushingly promoted by the L.A. Lakers. Do you agree that Bush should be impeached, and that we should just leave that poor Iranian humanitarian Ahmadinejad alone?
If not, contact the Lakers and the NBA to protest. Neither can afford to alienate its diminishing fan-base by employing anyone who shares these views.

Fleabag knows what he’s talikng about. He’s obviously a champion of truth, honesty, and integrity. That’s why he’s a big Slick Willie supporter.
This political moron and functional illiterate must be coming out with a new CD. I don’t know about you but his “music” is not only incomprehensible, but it’s just a lot of of noise. I’ve heard garbage trucks slamming dumpsters against their trucks while collecting commercial debris in Manhattan at 11:00 p.m. that sound better than anything Fleabag has put out.

Thee_Bruno on April 27, 2006 at 5:03 pm

At this point I pretty much agree with his assessment of Bush’s character, but not for the reasons he talks about (if “reason” is even the right word to apply to this idiot). Well actually at this point it’s not even unreasonable to say Bush has betrayed his country when it comes to the immigration issue. The worst part is that the media only focuses on criticism of Dubya coming from people like this, despite growing discontent among those of us who voted for him. In fact, in the few moments when we are mentioned Bush suddenly becomes the poor persecuted victim they portrayed Clinton as (Clinton started this mess by the way).

KnightoftheImpaler on April 27, 2006 at 5:46 pm

For the record, Flea’s daughter is named Clara. She’s a beautiful girl, she loves her dad, and he’s an awesome musician. God bless both of them.
FOR THE RECORD, FLEA HAS TWO DAUGHTERS BY TWO DIFFERENT MOTHERS. ONE IS CLARA, AND THE OTHER IS SUNNY BEBOP. AND, UM, ALSO FOR THE RECORD, WHILE WE CAN’T CONFIRM WHETHER SHE’S BEAUTIFUL OR LOVES HER DAD (AND ARE CURIOUS AS TO HOW YOU FEEL YOU KNOW THAT FOR CERTAIN), WHO THE HECK CARES? WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH HIS STATEMENTS ABOUT IRAN AND AGAINST AMERICANS WHO SUPPORTED GOING TO IRAN? NOTHING. WE’RE SURE PLENTY OF TERRORISTS, CRIMINALS, AND ASSORTED OTHER MALEFACTORS ARE LOVED BY THEIR DAUGHTERS. SO WHAT? ALSO, FOR THE RECORD, WE DON’T WISH G-D’S BLESSINGS ON THIS CRETIN.

My apologies, Clara indeed has a sister named Sunny Bebop, which I think is a very cool name.

WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH HIS STATEMENTS ABOUT IRAN AND AGAINST AMERICANS WHO SUPPORTED GOING TO IRAN? NOTHING.
Exactly, Debbie. So why would you even mention his daughter in your post?
ARE YOU REALLY ASKING THAT? IT’S QUITE OBVIOUS WHY WE MENTIONED IT. ANYONE WHO NAMES HIS/HER DAUGHTER SUCH AN INANE AND STUPID NAME TELLS US A LOT ABOUT HIS EQUALLY INANE AND STUPID ETHOS (AND DESPERATE NEED FOR ATTENTION). IT’S VERY RELEVANT. WHETHER HIS DAUGHTER LOVES HIM OR IS BEAUTIFUL IS NOT.

Briefly, yes, Bush is the best we’ve got for now but he is not nearly good enough. And neither are the sell-out politicians who would sell their own mother for profit to themselves. I am pro-America, pro-Israel, and pro-Europe. I believe in the traditional family. I would love to see a reconciliation between men and women, and an un-doing of radical feminism and left-wing ideology. Anything that promotes the destruction of the US, Israel, or Europe is anathema to me. But then, that’s just me.

Paraclese on April 27, 2006 at 6:35 pm

I don’t know anything about his daughter, but I would probably agree that it was going overboard to randomly mention the fact that she was born out of wedlock. It’s not like he’s doing serious damage with this garbage, it’s just standard leftist celebrity nonsense. That’s just my opinion Debbie, you can do whatever you want with your blogs.

KnightoftheImpaler on April 27, 2006 at 6:43 pm

I disagree, KnightoftheImpaler.
If Flea Brain wants to nominate himself as a spokesman and besmirch President Bush’s character, then he opens himself up to questions about his character. People who live in glass houses….
I think pointing out the FACT of his lack of character is far less damaging than the unproven and just plain wrong garbage Flea Brain is spreading.

The_Man on April 27, 2006 at 8:17 pm

His email sort of reads like a danny post.
Their music is still great, however.

Manatoch on April 27, 2006 at 8:52 pm

You’re probably right The_Man, I guess it’s more the fact that I’m not inclined to defend Bush anymore. This immigration thing is beginning to say to me that at least a few of the lefist scattershots at his character were, incidentally, true all along. Though not a lot of them are politicians in power these days, there are many contemporary political figures including Debbie herself I’d be inclined to defend as fiercly as she defended Bush on this blog. But he isn’t one of them.

KnightoftheImpaler on April 27, 2006 at 9:01 pm

Debbie, if it’s your opinion that Sunny Bebop Balzary is an inane and stupid name then yes, it would add to your argument, but that certainly is not clear in your original essay.
I think of Sunny as a beautiful name, and I don’t think it shows a lack of character for a parent to name his or her child Sunny, whether it be Flea, or the parents of musician King Sunny Ade or the parents of Sunny Lowry, the first woman to swim the English Channel.
Can I ask while you feel he’s not an expert in playing the bass?

Avalon on April 27, 2006 at 9:23 pm

FLEA…like a lot of “rockers”..all heart…no brains.
Or as a friend of mine said…heart of gold…head of straw.

The Canadien on April 27, 2006 at 9:50 pm

Debbie screw the blogging and the kvetching you should be focused only on having children.

shleppy on April 27, 2006 at 9:55 pm

I agree with shleppy. I would like to see Debbie get married, get pregnant and have little Debbies. Otherwise, we won’t have any more Debbies. Debbie and shleppy, sounds good 🙂 You’re not getting any younger Debbie!

Lori on April 27, 2006 at 10:43 pm

Agree with shleppy and Lori, we need more Debbies on the planet. Let’s see, Debbie is 3X… yes, it’s not too late!

Paraclese on April 27, 2006 at 10:49 pm

I understand, KnightoftheImpaler , about Bush. I am pretty disgusted right now, with immigration, his “prepare for a rough summer” approach to the gas prices, the Iraq war seems to be dragging too much, and still the runaway spending. Do something, President Bush! If only Ronald Reagan was President right now…
Still, I just don’t care for the actual hate by the lefties. It’s more of a hate of Christian, white, straight America while minimizing Islamo fascism which just frustrates me to no end. I wish we could ship all the left to an Islamic country.
This Mommy Debbie talk is pretty funny. Is there any man good enough for Debbie?

The_Man on April 27, 2006 at 11:12 pm

Reagan would have never stood for this. Bush should not even be mentioned in the same sentence. They are not the same kind of Republicans, they are not the same kind of leaders, they are not the same kind of people. There will never be another Gipper but even so the leadership today is pathetic. I agree about the nature of the people who are publicized for standing against Bush as well as the people who actually run the media. And they make it look as if every conservative is the same. They demonize patriotic people all the time but they can’t be insensitive to the Islamist enemy, as if they are the kind of people who care about sensitivity. I think their hysterics and their hatred of their own country in such a crucial hour really moved good Americans to vote for the neo-conservative phonies. Very few good Americans in the mainstream media minus Pat Buchanan saw the neo-cons for who they were until now, the rest of us were too busy focusing on the leftist traitors as if we expected them to act out of their nature (plus, as much as I respect Pat for his intelligence and political courage he does have his flaws and he’s not exactly what you’d call charming). So all in all, I’d say we conservative patriots were so disgusted with one kind of traitor we walked right into the arms of another.

KnightoftheImpaler on April 27, 2006 at 11:37 pm

Knight, I completely agree with every single point you make. I’m glad I’m not the only one who realized that Pat Buchanan is just about the only real conservative left, and I’d vote for him in 2008 in a heartbeat if he ran, even though I’m not happy with his position that the federal government has any business in any citizen’s sex life, or a woman’s womb.

hqsbud on April 28, 2006 at 1:23 am

I definitely agree that his biases as a staunch Catholic sometimes often get in the way of his judgement and blind his vision. I would say that they should just repeal Roe vs. Wade and the federal government should stay out of the abortion issue after that. Also his old school Catholic views get in the way of his population concerns, I mean I agree that our culture shouldn’t be sexual to the point of degeneracy like it is now but he’s just unrealistic about it. But to use an old slogan he has brought back, he is an American First.
You know, my family being from Romania I always viewed World War II as a horrific mess but never really understood where he was coming from with his views on that. But the more I look at it, the more I see that he’s more or less right. Hitler and Stalin were two mass-murdering tryrants who dismembered my mother country, but I’ve come to the conclusion that by staying out for so long America allowed the two to weaken each other and it saved at least tens of millions of lives in the long run.
As for FDR, it is a testament to the strength of the American fighting men that they were able to win the war in spite of such awful leadership. It’s a shame no one thinks that way anymore. Well, I won’t say no one. Just hardly anyone in the media except Buchanan. I would vote for him too, in fact I think he would do very well if he ran again.

KnightoftheImpaler on April 28, 2006 at 2:39 am

In all seriousness, related to this topic, the longer we wait to do something about our Irainian mad-man problem, the worse it will be. We should not be allowing him to entrench. Shame on Germany for putting profit over principle with the upcoming FIFA Worldcup to be held in Germany!
“German Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble (CDU) recently stated that Ahmadinejad is welcome at the World Cup because Germany wants to be ‘a good host.'”
I was not kidding when I talked about limits being placed on Corporate greed. I wonder if Crotchboy Flea will be there?

If the Lakers are still run by Jack Nicholson,I’d advise him to dump his poet laureate “bass player” Flea-and Kobe-for a real
bass player like Charlie Haden and Quartet West and have ’em play their ‘Always Say Goodbye’ cd at halftime.

Frankie Avalon gets it wrong AGAIN!
The first woman to swim the English Channel was not Sunny Lowry. It was Gertrude Ederle.
LOL!

Thee_Bruno on April 28, 2006 at 9:45 am

Flea just stick to the bass and playing music. ROCK ON EVERYONE Remember We all just skinheads cowboys in a mohawk town.

GOODOLREBEL on April 28, 2006 at 11:04 am

Thanks for bringing that to my attention, Thee Bruno. Sunny Lowry was the first English woman to swim the Channel.
Sunny is a beautiful name, though, don’t you agree, Bruno?
See how easy it is to be civil.

Oh Debbie, you ignorant little fascist, where do I start?
First, you demonstrate your ignorance by claiming Flea ‘is apparently not an expert in playing bass’. You don’t end up being named Bassist of the year in 1996, member of one of the two most popular touring bands of the last decade (the other being U2), founder of a non-profit music school for kids and more, without being an ‘expert in playing bass’. Maybe you should show us all your bass playing talents, Debbie, but maybe the banjo is more your instrument.
Addressing Flea’s comments specifically. “george w bush should definitely be impeached, he is a liar.” This is undeniably true until someone can provide some evidence for the WMDs that Bush used to justify his illegal invasion of Iraq. “his lies have bought misery to millions of people and bought no good to anyone except for the corporate oil billionaires” True, given that ~40,000 innocent iraqi citizens have been killed and hundreds of thousands more have been injured by Bush’s invasion while companies like Halliburton are making millions on rebuilding what the U.S. forces destroyed. “the administration’s line that they were over there because they wanted to spread democracy and freedom is nothing else besides a lie” True, because if it was the truth, it would have been the original ‘excuse’ for Bush’s illegal invasion. But no, it’s the new lie to cover up the old lie – the one about Iraq having WMDs – which quickly evaporated when no-one could find said WMDs.
If anything, all you’ve proved is that Flea is clearly a far better christian and citizen than you. He cares about the welfare of the Iraqi and Iranian people, many of whom do not endorse the actions of their leaders (much as many Americans do not endorse the actions of Bush and cronies) and want to live happily in peace. He cares about the welfare of American soldiers whose lives have been put in peril (over 2400 of whom have died already), all for Bush’s lies about WMDs.
Loving others unconditionally, wishing that innocent people don’t suffer death and misery for the lies and evil of their leaders, and wishing for peaceful resolution of conflicts over war are all true christian virtues.
But you Debbie, you happily insult his talent, insult he and his wife’s choice for their baby daughter’s name, try to persecute him by telling your readers to complain to his favourite basketball team and the NBA, lob insults at him, and finally, in your infinite arrogance, you presume to decide for God that Flea doesn’t deserve His blessing. And, ‘we’, we who? Are you suffering delusions of granduer? Isn’t it time you took a good hard look at yourself?
Finally, you say ‘Yes, those U.N. sanctions work really well. Just ask Saddam.’ The goal of the sanctions were to prevent Saddam from rebuilding his military, developing weapons of mass destruction and from invading his neighbouring countries. And it worked, his military was not rebuilt, hence the minimal resistance to the U.S.’s illegal invasion of Iraq in 2003, he did not invade any neighbouring countries after Kuwait and there were no weapons of mass destruction. And as for Iran, isn’t it a little hypocritical to attack Iran for having nuclear power and possibly developing nuclear weapons (and Iraq for WMDs for that matter), when the U.S. has had nuclear power and weapons of mass destruction for decades, is the only country to use a nuclear bomb in war, and continues to use nuclear weapons such as depleted uranium ammunition against other countries?
God Bless Flea, a great musician and a wonderful soul.

Goodness Debbie. Well I’m a Brit and stumbled across this site by accident. Your unpleasant, bigoted words about a kind soul such as Flea who happens to have a different point of view from you does, I’m afraid, highlight all that is wrong with the US today and why anti-americanisation is at an all time high. Why are you so intolerant of others’ views? I thought that the whole point of democracy was that we are able to discuss topics in a civilised manner, and not to put others down whom you disagree with.
