BREAKING: Rep. John Conyers’ Wife Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

From the beginning, I’ve been writing about deposed, federally-convicted Detroit City Councilwoman Monica Conyers. Whether it was her infantile tirades at City Hall during City Council meetings or her fights with hotel security and police because she didn’t like her suite at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, I’ve told you about this embarrassment who is married to far-left Congressman John Conyers.

Today, Monica Conyers was sentenced to just over three years in prison for accepting at least $69,000 in bribes she solicited from various parties, including Synagro, who bought her votes or other forms of advocacy. But Conyers isn’t happy with the lax sentence and now says she wants to withdraw her plea, but the judge won’t let her. So, she’s appealing. Good luck with that.

The thing is, while Mrs. Conyers will do time in the slammer, her husband–who reversed his positions on contracts in Detroit after she accepted the bribes and intervened on behalf of the bribers–isn’t at all touched by this scandal. And you have to ask yourself why? The investigation began under the Bush administration and is finishing up under Obama. But neither Justice Department seems to want to pursue the America-hating Congressman. Why?

What did John Conyers know and when did he know it? If this were any other political couple, would hubby get away with it? Don’t bet on it.

She is a pathetic example of what the leadership in Detroit has been, is and will always be. It is my guess that she will be granted her appeal and won’t serve a day. Kilpatrick isn’t being held accountable either. While he lives in the lap of luxury in Texas, many of us here are barely making ends meet.

Other than a few Republicans who committed highly visible and understandable offenses, I think that most politicians can avoid jail; Spitzer comes to mind along with scores of others. There really is a multi-tier justice system, one for us and one for them.

Dude, unfortunately, she’ll probably get treated like a celebrity. In Michigan prisons the system is out of whack big time. She will, however, probably get a girlfriend for a while. It will be by choice though.

It is good that Monica Conyers is finally facing some prison time for her misdeads. Of course, one has to question how Mr. Conyers could not have ben aware of his wife’s misdeads. I suspect that Mr. Conyers will divorce Monica after a decent interval. She has served her purpose as a lightening rod and distraction, and now has achieved the status of spoiled hamburger politically.

Conyers and Randle embroiled in scandal. They walked the picket lines during the civil rights movement only to realize they’re dream and forget about everybody else. African-American politicans should realize by now when its time to through politicos under the bus they are the first to go. Sure theres Billy and Hilly, Fienstein, Pelosi Boxer, Dodd. Where are the indictments for them. Nothing good comes out of Detroit except maybe Matt Stafford.

why is america so threatened by a strong asertive black woman?Although we have a black president there is still so much discrimination that has to be overcome.
a perfect example is although black politicians are in the miority we are the overwhelming majority charged by the white man for so called crimes.
I blieve these attacks on the black man are to slow down the reperations we so richly deserve for the centuries of slavery which built this country.

Hey princess – your fantasy land is laughable. I don’t owe black people squat in reperations. In fact, I may be owed money by black people who are on the public dole in one way or another. I left home right after graduating high school with just the shirt on my back and have never taken money from the gov’t in this way, but I have paid more than my ‘fair share’ to all of the recipients of our gov’t handouts using the money payed by all of us hardworking taxpayers.

The main thing is that Monica really was just screwing over other blacks through her actions. Detroit is predominantly black and is run by blacks, so the white racism angle makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

I heard that Rep. Carolyn Kilpatrick has been called to testify by the grand jury investigating Detroit corruption. It sounds like the investigation is making some headway.

That being said, Mayor Bing has his work cut out for him trying to turn Detroit around. Gack! I don’t envy him.

Um…guys…before you get all riled up, it’s obvious that this Shakazulu Mohammed character is a parody thrown up on the board to get the natives restless. The name itself, the subjects brought up, the rampant misspellings, and the “little baby obamichelle” remark are dead giveaways. Of course, some of these same folks thought the Onion parody of President Obama that Ms. Schlussel had up the other day was real also…

I have yet to see any Black person on any site defending Mrs. Conyers. She is yet another criminal politician who has done nothing for her constituents.

It is strange that Edisons right hand was a Harvard educated black man who designed the first electric motors and flux capicators that powered the first street lights ever in the city of Linden New Jersey in 1881,yet there is no mention of him. ALTHOUGH THE CITY WAS NAMED AFTER Chad Linden!!! Electric street lights were another first stolen from the black man.
I sense wonderful things coming from GM if only Obama can let the black creative juices flow,new designs,solar powered cars and a sense of style that can not be duplicated by the white drones that drove that company into the ground.
This country voted for change and I believe Obama is going to give it to us.
