Jack Bauer’s Brave, But Kiefer Sutherland’s a Girlie Man

By
From the Too Much Information Department:
In an F-word laced interview, Kiefer Sutherland, who plays Counterterorrism Agent told Rolling Stone he thinks he cried at the absolutely horrid, mushy British movie, “Love, Actually.”
“I’m no different than anybody else,” he claims. Uh, speak for yourself, Kiefer. You’re no Jack Bauer.

I agree with you that “Love, Acctually,” actually did suck. It was a Bush bashing film, a celebration of the phony British multiculturalism, and had the odious Rachel Corrie worshipping Alan Rickman in it. Also the idea of Hugh Grant as a Tony Blair like Prime Minister was only exceeded by the inane notion of Billy Bob Thornton as President of the United States. I also am starting to dislike Emma Thompson intensely.
As for Kiefer Sutherland – further reminder that actors are not the same as the characters they portray on film.

Ripper–
Great stuff! You nailed it on “Love, Actually” and the awful Emma Thompson. Am I the only one who noticed that she went downhill after divorcing Branagh?
Of course, their marriage was already on the rocks after his lousy Frankenstein movie (1994).
Sad that many folks think that actor=role played

You’re correct about Kiefer Sutherland not being Jack Bauer in one respect, Sutherland picked up the entire bar’s tab at the “Chimney Sweep” in North Hollwood after filming in the area one evening.
Jack Bauer would have badged his way in front of the line, ordered one beer and not left a tip.
