Religion of Peace & Throwing Babies Off Bridges
Meant to get to this, yesterday. It’s important. Think of this story, the next time anyone (like Jihad Grover Norquist) tells you that Muslims are pro-life (yeah, we’ve seen several thousand examples of just how “pro-life” they are–9/11, Hezbollah, HAMAS, Undiebomber, Shoebomber, etc., etc., etc.). Apparently, at least one devout Muslim has made his own real-life, tragic sequel to “Throw Momma From the Train”: Throw Baby From the Bridge.

And kudos–giant, mega-akbar kudos!–to The Star-Ledger of New Jersey for having the guts–the cojones!–to mention what would usually be whitewashed: the perpetrators strong devotion to Islam and his trip to see his imam.
A tragedy, indeed, for this innocent, helpless baby girl:
The mother of a 3-month-old girl allegedly thrown from the Garden State Parkway’s Driscoll Bridge by her father Tuesday night pleaded today for her daughter’s safe return.
“I just want my baby to get back home,” Venetta Benjamin said, briefly talking to reporters outside her mother’s home in East Orange. “I ask anybody if they have seen my daughter to please contact police.”
Three-month-old Zara Malini-Lin Abdur-Raheem was abducted in East Orange at 4 p.m. Tuesday by her father Shamsid-Din Abdur-Raheem, of Galloway Township, Atlantic County, police said. When he was arrested in Camden County four hours later, he told authorities he threw his child from the Garden State Parkway’s Driscoll Bridge into the Raritan River.
State Police are continuing to search the river today for the infant.
Benjamin said her daughter, Zara Malani-Lin, born Nov. 19 2009, would be three months old on Friday. . . .
Abdur-Raheem, 21, who does not have custody rights for his daughter, is accused of attacking the child’s grandmother at her East Orange apartment before fleeing with the girl.
The grandmother chased Abdur-Raheem outside the apartment building and threw herself on the hood of a minivan in an attempt to stop the abduction, according to Chris Bailey, superintendent of the building.
Wow, that’s a brave granny. And here’s the money quote:
During the four hours police were searching for Abdur-Raheem, he told police he drove south on the Garden State Parkway, stopped to throw the baby from the bridge, and then continued to Atlantic County to visit an Imam. . . .
He was religious and said his prayers regularly.
[He] visited two mosques Tuesday evening before he was arrested. They were Masjid Muhammad on Albany Avenue in Atlantic City and Masjid un-Nur in Camden County.
Religion of Peace, indeed. More like Religion of Rest in Peace before your life even begins.

Look on the bright side, one less potential muslim in the world
