Saw This Last Night & . . .

By Debbie Schlussel

. . . I can’t wait to post my review.  Will be up sometime after Midnight tonight.  Stay tuned.  In the meantime, here’s the trailer for “From Paris With Love” (written by Adi Hasak and one of my fave’s, Luc Besson):

Awesome! Lots of action, explosions, funny one liners, the right people getting killed…and I think there was a Royale with cheese in there somewhere.

This is definitely on my list for this weekend!

C: Wow, it’s as if you have a window into my mind, including the “Royale w/ Cheese” part. DS

Without even reading your review yet this is my kind of movie. JT is great in these kind of movies.

What’s the matter? Was Bruce Willis sick on the day they did the casting?

Deb, sounds to me like you are excited about this film which could be on a “best of list.”

Debbie, I am in love even more since I’ve been a long time Luc Besson fan.

First, I can’t believe he’s actually a French guy.

I have a ton of his movies. Of course there is out mutual love of Taken, and Besson has just stated he’s finished writing the sequel.

Then, other classics like Fifth Element, Kiss of the Dragon, District B13, La femme Nikita, and more.

Not to mention Besson is one of the few filmmakers who has taken a public stand against Polanski.

I can’t wait to see this movie. It looks like my type of Besson movie. Travolta looks like he’s perfect for this role, and yes I love the Pulp Fiction/Royale’ with Cheese homage.

LOL Royale with cheese stir up memories…. can’t wait to see your review even if Travolta is a wacky Scientologist.

So, is that a Keffiyeh, “peace scarf”, or whatever politically correct term for a paleostinian hate scarf that Travolta is wearing?

NB: Yes, that bothered me, and is my one reservation. DS

This looks like a very good movie, Debbie. I will be looking to your review of this movie tonight.

Debbie,

Thanks, it was hard form me to tell from the trailers that I have seen. It may be a good movie otherwise, but I would have trouble staring at that for the duration of the movie.

I read Ebert’s review this morning. He didn’t even talk about the movie itself. He just went off about how the action sequences were put together. That says to me that this will be a good “stick it to the bad guys” action movie.
