Texas Media Lie on Schlussel v Farouk Shami: It’s Not Just That He’s Muslim, It’s That He’s Extremist
A while ago, I told you about Farouk Shami, the owner of Chi, BioSilk, and Farouk Systems hair products. The multi-millionaire Palestinian Muslim is running for Governor of Texas on the Democratic ticket and plans to spend gazillions of his own money to finance his bid (plus I’m sure many Al-Blahblahblahs donate, too). As I told you, he’s an extremist who was honored by the pro-HAMAS, anti-Semitic American Task Force on Palestine. And he refuses to openly condemn HAMAS, Islamic Jihad, etc. nor to recognize Israel’s right to exist . . . just like his friends at ATFP. Plus he funds extremist girls schools in the so-called “West Bank” and employs extremists there, at his Chi plants.

But the Texas press don’t seem to get that. So, instead, they’ve dumped on me and praised him as some sort of (fictionally) great American, instead of telling the truth. The way “reporter”/gullible regurgitator R. G. Ratcliffe of the San Antonio Express-News and the Houston Chronicle, this is about Shami being a Muslim, rather than about his support for and involvement in extremist causes. Neither paper asked him to denounce HAMAS, Islamic Jihad, and other Palestinian Islamic terrorist groups. Nor did either paper ask him to recognize Israel.
Instead, Ratcliffe, in the Houston Chronicle (the same article was in the San Antonio Express-News) quotes Shami as saying he loves our troops and how he helped in Hurricane Katrina. Really–he loves our troops? Then, let’s hear him denounce the Hezbollah terrorists who murdered 241 of them in Beirut. He won’t do it. Nor will the Chronicle ask him to. And the paper says only this about what I wrote:
“The absence of economic and social freedom for Palestinians is in no one’s long-term interest not Palestinians, nor Israelis, and certainly not Americans,” Shami wrote.
Such sentiments brought him under fire from conservative commentator Debbie Schlussel, who suggested he is anti-Israel in a piece titled “Jihad and hair care: Meet Texas Dems’ Palestinian Muslim candidate for governor.”

Uh, actually, that’s NOT why I attacked him, nor did I cite that quote in my column exposing the real Farouk Shami to the world. Sadly, the Chronicle’s and Express-News’ Ratcliffe declines to note what I did say and quote me, because then he/she/it would actually have to ask Shami some tough questions and do a real story. As I noted, FOX News’ David Asman, who is normally stellar, gave him a similarly gushing interview on FOX Business Channel, too.
This is why you need people like me, on the net, to do the real homework and ask the questions they won’t. And not surprisingly, as I noted above, the papers declined to provide a link to my work on Mr. Shami, lest their readers actually be informed of the facts. And, in the case of a liberal Palestinian Muslim (who supports illegal aliens) running for office, we can’t have that. Can we?

The more Islamic terror and hate-mongering, the more the hand-wringers, panderers and guilty white liberals spew in defense of them. It’s the opposite of what a rational person would expect; like “1984”, or something. Weird.
