Sounds like their other song from the Vision Quest soundtrack ‘Only the Young’. You gotta love those 80s videos. The cheese factor in those video is so thick.

I always loved Journey when they let Neal Schon crank it a little. This is an excellent workout song. I know the power balads paid the bills for Journey, but this is the stuff. Another killer: Line of Fire.

I was a room service waiter in 1980 at the Biloxi Hilton.
These guys stayed there when they did their show in Biloxi.

I met them the morning after their show.
I was surprised to see they’re all really short.

Great concert.
The Babys opened for them.

Open arms comes on the radio and I still get a lump in my throat.

Vision Quest was my favorite movie when it came out. Soundtrack was awesome even with madonna on it. Red Ryder’s Lunatic Fringe makes me want to smash things with my bare hands!!! Excellent work out song.

Neal Schon learned his craft and technique at the right hand of the master, Carlos Santana. It’s no wonder his guitar playing is so good. Another Santana member also helped found journey and that was Greg Rolie. that Journey tune rocks!

Love Journey!!! In fact I was online listening to them the other night. Thanks for putting Chain Reaction on your site. There is some music that doesn’t age. Journey is one of them. I saw them in Phoenix 1983, those memories still remain w/me.

You’re a genius when it comes to political analysis, but your musical tastes are
pedestrian. Journey, like most of the 80’s power ballad bands are a great example of the mediocrity of that decade. I’m glad they went the way of thin ties and mullets!
