ABSURD: Intolerant Muslim Cab Drivers Get Special Job Fair

By
Belatedly and well past time, the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport Board voted to fine and penalize Muslim cab drivers who repeatedly refused passengers with seeing-eye dogs and alcohol.
But that’s not the end of it. Nope. Since we always have to bend over backward–actually forward–for Islam, there’s more accommodation for the intolerant Muslim cabbies.
Last week, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport held a special job fair, just for Muslim cab drivers “whose occupational duties conflict with their religious beliefs.” 10 companies operating in the airport were there hiring, and about 25 drivers attended.

USA Today “Airport Check-in” columnist Roger Yu calls the job fair, “a serving of Minnesota niceness.” No, what it really is, is a serving of Minnesota Dhimmitude.
Maybe they should have a job fair for flying imams and Gitmo detainees, too, while they’re at it.

Gee, isn’t that great? Special job fairs for people who may, or may not, pick you up because you do not believe as they do? Special privileges for the minority? What a great democratic republic we live in! Uhhhh, I always thought majority rules in a democracy. Maybe it’s the “special” majority showcased by the dupes in Minnesota. What a bunch of crap….

I’m curious, where was all the outrage a few months back when Christians were refusing to dispense drugs because it “went against their religion”? The right-winger are up in arms over the Muslim’s refusing to do their job, yet by and large they were the first to come out and say that the Christians were being persecuted for their beliefs by being forced to hand out “Plan-B”.
I completly agree that if you don’t do your job, for whatever reason, you should be fired. It would just be nice if this was the case for all religions, just not religions that goes against your beliefs.

If they had any decency, they wouldn’t be taking a job that conflicted against their religious standards rather than imposing their standards on those who don’t hold by them, like us, the dhimmis. No doubt about it, the CAIR is working behind the scenes to promote this religious sensitivity lunacy. But thats not all. I hear that they are trying to pressure or “request” ( if you want to put in a more eloquent way, mind you) the Kansas City International Airport to install foot basins in the restrooms there. What is astonishing is the defening silence comming out of the ACLU on this matter. Afterall, don’t they push for the Seperation of Church and State? You would think they would be screaming over roof tops to preclude this from being legislated. Why is Islam the only religion that is given a pass in this country?

Drek came close to making a good point about Christians refusing to sell the morning after pill. The difference is that those Christians feel they’d be abetting in the destruction of human life. That’s a lot more intrinsic to their religious beliefs than simply not wanting to be in a vehicle with a dog.
And besides, Muslim cabbies aren’t refusing to take guide dogs because of their religion. There’s nothing in the Qur’an about dogs being prohibited animals. It’s strictly a cultural thing with them, and as such, little more than a whim. Screw ’em.

Thanks Steve, I guess getting someone to almost agree with me is about as good as a non-conservitave is going to get on here. I’ll take it as a compliment.

In Nov ’74 I started driving a taxi in Philadelphia. In those days cabs were restricted to certain sections, ours, Penn Radio was restricted to Germantown. So we spent most of our time in the Northwest section of the city. A part of town (somalis) would most likely settle. It took two years to get over my white guilt syndrome and realized it’s not a good idea to pick them up off the street. I’d just play the radio, even (somali) types would be uninclinded to rob you or stiff you for the fare if you were sent to their house. Too many times you’d get the ‘I have to go get the money from my aunt’ from those you’d pick up off the street. The veteran cab drivers told me don’t pick them up. All right I’m slow. Stopped driving in ’81, my last year I managed to get with a Center City/South Philadelphia cab company. I’ll get back to that last year in Philadelphia later. I moved to Buffalo in ’81. From ’85 to ’95 drove a taxi up there. Different city, same s***. From ’97 to ’02 I drove in Niagara Falls, another city, same s***. On average, over the years, 50% of the population in the back seat (somali) types, 12% of the general population causing 90% of the s***. The other 50% of the back seat population I always found the drunks to be the biggest tippers, whether just bar hopping or going home. Sounds good to me, not behind the wheel of a car. Many times people take their pets to the vet in a cab. The pets were always well mannered, more I can say for some of the two legged animals I’d had back there. Seeing eye dogs, magnificent animals, magnificent animals on a mission. These somali drivers, just out of the desert, are here to tell us all about it? How can a fourth century primitive do that? Somalia, isn’t that where Mogadishu is? Isn’t that where they dragged our dead Marine naked through the streets? They don’t want us Americans with closed alcohol containers, getting a ride home after partying or our pets in ‘their’ cabs. I think most Americans would like them to take their fourth century somali asses back to the desert. My last year driving in Philadelphia. 2am, South Street, closing time, 14 (somali) types trying to get a cab but I see a drunken Italian two blocks away. I’m going to run over 14 (somali) types to get to the drunken Italian. I know I’m not going to get any attitude, I’m not going to get in a wrestling match over the meter, he’s probably going to South Philadelphia, I’m going to get a tip and if I have to help him to the door I’m going to get more of a tip. Now I know not all those from Somalia are (somali) types. I find it ironic that the immigrant drivers we have in so many of our cabs get the money in advance. If I’d have done that I’d have been a racist. The Somali cab drivers wearing their religion on their sleeve? A taxi is a door to door bus, get over yourself. I hung up my keys in Nov ’02. Retired back in a Philadelphia suburb, so glad to be out of it. Just observations from the front seat of a taxi.
