F-U Salutations From My Friends at the WNBA (Lute Olson’s Granddaughter)
By Debbie Schlussel
In response to my on the Waste of National Broadcast Airtime, the Weird Nuisance Brought on America a/k/a the WNBA, I’ve received a lot of positive mail from red-blooded proud Americans who like real sports and actual entertainment (neither of which are found in the WNBA). But from those of another persuasion – WNBA Fans, the class level keeps going down. My favorite is Monday’s e-mail from Phoenix Mercury Assistant Head Coach, Julie Brase, who is also the granddaughter of University of Arizona Men’s (read: Real) Basketball Coach Lute Olson. Apparently, WNBA players and coaches are as skilled and creative in their e-mails, as they are worthy of attention–not very. Ms. Brase’s two words (in the subject line) were the only that she could come up with, from her vast vocabulary repertoire. Great example for the young girls that are the purported WNBA audience.

Julie, I think you’ve just found the new marketing slogan for the WNBA. “The WNBA: F-U.” Lute Olson must be so proud. . . .

A WNBA ass’t coach distinguishes herself – Julie B
Did she need to consult a thesaurus before she typed her e-mail?

P.S. Ms. Brase’s e-mail address is jbrase@phoenixmercury.com
