“Acted Alone”?: Hasan Attack Was 3rd Planned Islamic Domestic Attack on U.S. Military Tied to Yemen; Fort Dix 6 & Hasan’s Imam

By Debbie Schlussel

I’m tired of hearing the claims that Islamic terrorist Nidal Malik Hasan “acted alone” when he massacred soldiers at Fort Hood, last week.  He didn’t act alone.  He acted with Islam and the Koran and his imam and his mosque.  And with the celebratory support of the Arab and Muslim Streets all over the world.

Famous But Incompetent: Looked the Other Way on Al-Awlaki & Islam

But now there’s evidence that Hasan’s attack was part of several attacks on U.S. military bases and personnel planned, coordinated, and orchestrated by Islamic clerics.

Remember the Muslims who planned to attack Fort Dix, the military base in New Jersey?  They wanted to kill as many soldiers as possible, but their plan was discovered by a Circuit City employee.  Court records in that case indicate that Hasan’s imam, Anwar Al-Awlaki, was the inspiration for that planned attack . . . just like he inspired Nidal Malik Hasan to attack Fort Hood.  That makes the FBI and U.S. Army’s insistence on looking the other way at Hasan’s e-mail contact with Al-Awlaki all the more disgusting.

And then, there’s the other attack on U.S. military personnel on U.S. soil.  Remember Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, the American Muslim who converted to Islam, traveled to Yemen, and studied with radicals linked to Al-Qaeda?  Remember how he murdered two servicemen at an Army-Navy recruiting center in Little Rock, Arkansas, back in June?

Who inspired that?  Was it coordinated with Al-Awlaki, who is also in Yemen (where he’s been since 2002), to which Muhammad traveled and where he studied Islam with extremists?  Were there contacts between Muhammad and Al-Awlaki?

The fact that the FBI had been following Muhammad and Hasan, had them both on their radar, knew of Al-Awlaki’s connection to the 9/11 hijackers, to the planned-but-foiled Fort Dix attack, and to the Toronto 18 (who planned various attacks on Canadian officials and government) and did nothing re-inforces even more why I call the agency Famous But Incompetent.  13 American soldiers and an unborn kid died unnecessarily because the FBI and CIA and every other federal law enforcement agency is doing exactly what they did before 9/11:  creating giant circular files of intelligence and sitting on their hands.

Reader Duane writes:

The Abdulhakim Muhammad attack is more significant now, as this is the 2nd attack on our military on U.S. soil in a 4 month period.  Both individuals were 1) Muslim and 2) under investigation by the FBI at the time.  This speaks volumes to the current administrations failures on dealing with terrorism.   In the case of Zazi et al, Obama praised the FBI while ignoring the fact that it was the Scotland Yard that tipped them off to this.  If they had not have been tipped off by SY, it is questionable how far this plot would have gotten.  It amazes me that the MSM would have been all over this if not one, but 2 of these incidents happened under Bush, but all I am hearing is crickets and attempt to bury this.

Yup.  And now it is actually three attacks, one of which was also not uncovered by the FBI but by a smart, patriotic Circuit City employee.

More:

In addition to his contacts with Major Nidal Hasan, the radical American cleric, Anwar al Awlaki, served as an inspiration for men convicted in terror plots in Toronto and Fort Dix, New Jersey, according to government officials and court records reviewed by ABCNews.com.

Despite his ties to other plots, including the one against the Army post at Fort Dix, some 20 e-mails between Awlaki and Major Hasan were dismissed as “innocent” by a military investigator working on the FBI’s Joint Terror Task Force in Washington, D.C. . . .

Awlaki was characterized in court testimony as an inspiration by two of six Muslim immigrants convicted on conspiracy and other charges in a plot to kill U.S. military personnel at Fort Dix.

The cleric, who says it is the duty of all Muslims to fight the United States was cited as a source of wisdom by the two men.

In Toronto, members of the so-called Toronto 18 watched videos of Awlaki at a makeshift training camp where they allegedly planned an attack on the Canadian parliament and prime minister.

Debbie: Why did Hasan wait until his reassignment to Ft. Hood before attacking? Was he prompted in some way by Awlaki? Up until now, we have heard that he didn’t want to go to Afghanistan or Iraq. How do we know he didn’t request this assignment?

BTW: Hasan would have been the perfect vehicle to deliver a biological weapon and/or kill political or military higher-ups while at Walter Reed. I wonder if the secret service didn’t keep Bush and/or Obama away from him when they visited Walter Reed. This seems like a “wasted” opportunity, from AQ’s perspective.

Throughout all of this, what do we hear from the exalted one?
“I don’t know nothin bout terrorism”
“This kind of thing happens all the time with all the stress in the military”
“Don’t jump to conclusions”
“I really have no comment”
“No muslim here, nothing to see here, move along. Did I mention Obamacare yet today”
“We need to make sure the muslims are protected from any backlash this may cause”

This type of terrorism will continue to escalate and nothing will be done about it!

perception of truth on November 11, 2009 at 3:22 pm

You are correct, it will escalate. Obama administration has chosen a path of “downplaying” terrorism thinking that by not giving them coverage they will just go away. In reality, they will begin to seek out targets that are higer visability that they and the MSM will be unable to ignore-malls, buses(like Israel, and unfortunately schools (Beslan School massacre). Notice how little Eric Holder & Janet Napolitano have been out in front of the cameras?

Duane on November 11, 2009 at 4:03 pm

Just imagine 35-odd years ago, if a commissioned officer in the US military had made twenty phone calls to a Soviet Embassy. This is truly sickening…

#1 Vato on November 11, 2009 at 3:29 pm

“Innocent” e-mails, huh? So Hasan and al-Awlaki were discussing nothing but his personal problems and the weather? Only a politically correct and blindfolded FBI and US military couldn’t connect all the dots… because they don’t want to see Islamist terror in the US all adds up to a pattern. That’s why the stock response is to dismiss a jihadist attack as not being “terrorism-related.” Until it happens again the next time. And with that kind of attitude prevalent in high official circles, its a virtual guarantee there will be a next time.

Count on it.

As a long time investigator let me assure you there are people at this moment jumping through hoops to cover butt. I am glad I am retired it makes me sick at my stomach just what we needed now another protected species and you have members of the news media openly praying that the killer was a rabid Baptist or an orthadox Jew.

John Hamilton on November 13, 2009 at 7:10 am

Be interesting to see if the FBI is even interested in questioning Hasan. Is this now a military investigation/tribual situation, or one for law enforcement? If it’s the latter, one would think he’ll be protected by a battery of leftist/Islamist lawyers.

adam on November 11, 2009 at 3:57 pm

I hear that they are now claiming his civil rights were violated when his computer was forensically archived without a warrant. Now this is going to get interesting. I hope for a firing squad, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he walked with an insanity plea……

#1 Vato on November 11, 2009 at 4:52 pm

But Debbie, Hasan and other American Muslims are the “victims.” The MSM delusional tools have said so.

Funny, though, for some reason I’m having trouble being sympathetic.

Oh, and thanks. I haven’t read anything this deep on the topic yet. I’ll pass it on.

yonason on November 11, 2009 at 4:52 pm

Maybe the Army & the FBI should hire the Circuit City clerk.

great job deb.
it warms my heart to know there are still people that think here in the wolverine state.
(speaking of wolverines, isnt it ironic they are shooting red dawn in detroit right now, with chicom hummers on woodward. you oughta see it, its freakin surreal. but what aint these days..)
like you were saying though,i have been hearing the deafening roar of crickets these days. it reminds me of the gankbankers in LA who stood by while a girl was gangraped at her prom.
the geniuses didnt want to be labeled snitches ( as in ‘snitches’ get stitches). having worked in corporate America and been amongst the public school trained mouth breathers, it doesnt surprise me no one speaks up. if you do YOU will be blamed for bringing up the problem, creating “work” ( which means burden, not service, as the pschools teach). the injins say the wolf keeps the herd strong and it seems the muslims (wolves) are the only ones with cojones these days as the manginas(herd)who just follow orders and keep their mouthes (shut lest they get fired and have to start their own damn business, won’t utter a peep until they need a rent-a-cop to fire back for them. weakness is a provocation to the hungry predator. Fat and lame Americans have forgotten that.

Assuming the contents of the emails themselves were
“Innocent” (Does Anyone believe that?), what about
the contact itself? That emails were exchanged,
regardless of the content of the emails, should be
enough to justify action.

Where is the 9/11 Commission when we need them?

Little Al on November 11, 2009 at 6:44 pm

Shame on the americans without the commonsence to see throught a community organizer masquerading as a president.
shame on the women who vote for the most good-looking guy they’d rather have in their bed, rather thean a fake like John Mc Cain. Shame on the men who lack the balls or the soul to inform themselves and when you try to discuss politics with they immediately dissmiss the subject because you’ll find out they are a limp-risted fool. To vote in a-holes like Obama and the Clintons which both have totally nutured the FBI and the CIA to the point they’d rather watch Americans die instead of keeping the tragidies overseas. We’re becoming Beirut an Iserael.

These creatures are obvious terrerist sleeper cells designed for aggressive action against Americans when we least suspect it to make us uncomfortable in our own country. We already have to take off our shoes and throw away a perfectly good soft drink at the airport. I’m beginning to believe the big O is on the side of his fellow muslims moreso than seeing his country safe. Look at the way he ignores the request of his military generals while our soldiers are being blown to smithereens. then he gives glowing speeches at war memorials. Wher’s Gay Edgar Hoover when you need him/her.

seahawker on November 11, 2009 at 8:12 pm

Debbie, I agree with many of the comments. As we celebrate our “delusion of diversity” it continues to eat us from the inside— out. Yes, imagine as one of the commentators said, what would have been the countries reaction if a military officer had been in constant touch with the USSR.
Treason if I’m not mistaken is punishable by death. Sadly we don’t even have the balls to charge an officer in the US military with that crime.
Today we are bowing down to Sharia law in America. Think about it. In America we don’t dare put this guy in front of a firing squad for fear of offending the muslim population. It is time to rise up and take the country back!

Apophis on November 11, 2009 at 8:53 pm

The last three Presidents can be arrested for treason if we really wanted to be critical.

MASH message for Islamic terrorist Nidal Malik Hasan:

Mr. Hasan,

May you be swiftly executed, may you rot in Hell for eternity, and may your family be ashamed of you for as long as they shall live.

I do not think an execution would make any impression on him. It would simply make him a martyr. This is not ordinary criminal. LWP in isolation would be a far greater punishment.

UPDATE: There is the case of Walid Abdul Hamid who attacked a Christian customer in a California Starbucks cafe where he worked and ripped off a crucifix shouting “Allah is power” and stabbing him repeatedly with a pen. The sight of a cross appeared to have set him off. They get upset at the sight of dhimmis not being subservient in the face of Islam. This is what America has to look forward to. Its not just Hasan, whatever the MSM tells you. Islam challenges Americans in their every day existence.

NormanF on November 12, 2009 at 9:36 am

Note to General Casey: Resign now – you did a lousy job in Iraq and apparently you care more about “diversity” than you do about the lives of your own men and women in uniform. Shame on you. As for Pres. Obambi, “see no evil, hear no evil, etc.” This was an Act of Terrorism committed on American soil and The One is trying to psychobabble it away with the help of the Lame Stream Media. On Clinton’s watch we had the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center and now this! The Demos give us presidents who hate the military and can’t deal with reality. I am still waiting for The One to use the words “terrorism” or “Islamofascism”. Waiting . .. waiting . . . if there is not a backlash in the next election against this cowardly political correctness, I give up!

JulieJ on November 12, 2009 at 12:14 pm

Why did Hasan have Israeli and Jordanian coins in his apartment? Where is his “roommate”? Where is the mystery woman and 3 year-old child who visited his apartment? Obama et. al are withholding info. Why?

adam on November 12, 2009 at 3:21 pm

I still say (and will wind up being arrested for it) that for every 1 American these “religious people” murder we take out 10. And if the US Government will not do it then we Americans should I know Obama and the rest would rather hold their hands while they smuggle in Nuclear or Biological weapons but the rest of us should have more sense
