Tragedy: What’s In a Name?

So this guy’s name is Quran Jones. Based on that, I’m guessing he’s . . . Hindu or Jewish . . . or maybe Wiccan? Sadly, Quran Jones beat to death an autistic college student who was, according to accounts, a sweet guy obsessed with history and dreams of becoming a history professor. Sadly, those dreams will never materialize.

Quran Jones Murdered Autistic Student Scott Gregory Hawkins

Tragic:

Two months after he moved from his Santa Clara home to a brand new Sacramento State University dormitory, Scott Gregory Hawkins told his parents he was adjusting well and liked the roommates in his five-person suite.

But in a shocking outburst of violence, Hawkins was bludgeoned to death inside his room Wednesday afternoon. University police say the suspect is one of those roommates, who himself was shot and wounded after officers say he lunged at them with a knife. . . .

Police arrested Quran Jones, 19, who witnesses reported seeing wielding a baseball bat just before university police arrived, according to Sgt. Joe Green. Police first fired pepper balls at Jones, then they fired bullets. Jones, who is in stable and fair condition at UC-Davis Medical Center, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer. Police would not disclose specifics on his injuries but said he is expected to survive. . . .

Scott Hawkins . . . was “a person who really cared about other people and was a very generous, giving and caring person,” his father said. His son was obsessed with history and wanted to eventually become a history teacher or professor.

Scott Hawkins had Asperger syndrome, a form of autism, “that made him very obsessive about his favorite things,” his father said. He especially enjoyed studying ancient European and Middle Eastern history and was hoping he could graduate with a minor in one of those areas, his father said.

“He could go on and on about the history of Rome or the reasons that the Greek empire did this or that,” Gerald Hawkins said. . . .

Police say, Jones raised the knife above his head and charged the officers. Jones was shot and wounded by the officers, Green said. . . .

The two officers who fired guns at Jones, and who had not been identified as of Thursday, were placed on paid administrative leave while the police investigate the shooting.

Figures. Of course, we always waste tax money investigating law enforcement who did their job. Because it’s completely unjustified to shoot a murderer who’s charging at you with a knife, right?

If you are a college student and you are assigned to a Muslim roommate, you really need to get another assignment for your own safety. As anyone who has been in a Muslim country knows, Muslims are very quick to snap into violence. Like pit bulls, they might be peaceful one moment, then snap into a demonic rage the next, as the article demonstrates.

Some Jewish neighbors down the street were quite annoyed when their son, an upcoming freshman at a Virginia university was assigned a Muslim roommate from Pakistan. This was about five years ago. They couldn’t believe how clueless the person assigning roommates was. This article is proof that a Muslim roommate can be deadly.

As someone who has Asperger’s Syndrome, which is what Scott had, when I went to UCONN Storrs in 1996, I made arrangements as did my mother for me to be in a dorm ALONE. I am someone who is ANGERED AND OUTRAGED by the actions in California, the state which has THE MOST CASES OF AUTISM IN AMERICA, ESPECIALLY BY THIS ISLAMOFASCIST WHO PERHAPS DID THIS AS SOME KIND OF MERCY KILLING BECAUSE HIS SO-CALLED RELIGION THINKS PEOPLE WITH AUTISM ARE CURSED!

Several local CA radio stations have interviewed students who lived in the same dorm. They mentioned that Quran had recently been talking about hallucinogens like LSD and DMT. It remains to be seen whether this event falls under the purview of the War on Terror or under the War on Drugs.

There is an exorcist in the Catholic Diocese of Arlington who says that a huge number of Muslims are actually possessed and have all the trademarks of being demonically possessed–no surprise, as you mentioned, because the religion they worship was founded by a very evil, crazy nutcase.

I’ve noticed that Muslims have absolutely no regard for human life, none. I taught a student with Asperger’s Syndrome and they are very gentle, peaceful souls. This peaceful guy at Sacramento State obviously had a God-given talent for Classical Studies and could have contributed significantly to our knowledge of Greece and Rome, and yet was brutally murdered by a vicious Muslim named “Quran” who had no business even being near a university.

What a loss to our culture because of the religion of Islam. When we let more of these barbarians into our civilization to spread their religion of hate, we are inevitably going to continue going down the route of decline.

You might actually try reading the article link you posted. Mr. Jones was sent to a catholic high school(Sacred Heart Cathedral). That does not mean that he was ever a Roman Catholic. Many non-catholic parents send their childen to such schools, due to the superior educational opportunites not offered by neighborhood schools in poorer areas.

Your might even look at this part of your article:

What involvement did Mr. Jones have with this?

The bottom line is that Mr. Jones apparently murdered Mr.Hawkins with a baseball bat. And, when the polce arrived at the scene, Mr. Jones attacked them as well.

If you tried to defend more worthwhile people, you would have more credibility.

I am not defending his actions. I know him. He is Christian. Just like you assume from his name he’s Muslim, you should assume from the choice of his foster parents to put him in Catholic school that he’s Christian. Both logics are about on the same wavelength. Because the media hasn’t explicitly said, “Quran is Christian,” does not mean he is not. The media, other than bloggers who are speculating have not said he is Muslim either. Most of the comments on this are not about Q and how terrible his actions were, but are about Muslims, which he is not. Not only are you all speculating on his religion because of his name, you are also saying terrible, discriminatory things about a whole group of people.
Q was a foster child. His biological parents named him Quran, but his foster parents raised him Christian.
Its not unthinkable.
It happens.
I spent 4 months last semester walking to class with him twice a week, living in the same building as him, being his friend.
Believe what suits you. What Q did was horrible and inexcusable enough without the additional speculation of things without any facts. If you are going to hate him, hate him for what he did, not for being something he’s not. I’m sorry for Scott and his family and friends.

The article doesn’t state he is Christian, although in dhimmitude style pretends he is by posing him in front of a Christmas tree. Most likely, he was born and raised Muslim, and then taken away and put in foster care. Just because he was sent to a Catholic school doesn’t mean that he was Catholic or intended to become Catholic. There are plenty of Muslims in Catholic schools.

There are not a lot of Muslims, maybe a handful per school. But the point is that just because Quran Jones went to a Catholic school doesn’t mean he was Catholic as Rose states in her comment.

The Muslims who go to Catholic school around here have to agree to take the Catholic theology that is required of all students, and they have to attend Mass. They can’t opt out, but very few actually convert to Catholicism. A lot more who are other religions–Buddhist, Eastern Orthodox, Protestant do. Very few Muslims do, though.

It was not drug induced. The article today said that drugs were not a factor. It was definitely a classic, Muslim-induced snap rampage typical of the religion. You never know when a Muslim is going to suddenly decide to run you over, lop off a head, beat you with a baseball bat, etc.

Officials are waiting for drug tests but said they didn’t see physical evidence of anything. If anything, there is still no evidence that he was ever Muslim or had anything of a fundementalist background. He went to a Catholic High School and played football, basketball and even wanted to join the military or become a firefighter. His roomates said he expressed an interested in some psychotropic drugs. I would not be surprised if the kid turned out to be plain schizophrenic, which is not limited to any particular religion.

You know we need to show compassion to Quran Jones. First, it is a total loss that such person as Quran has committed such a crime. Think about how he must feel. Those police officers most certainly acted without regard for his well being. I mean, how could they shoot him when all he had was a knife?

This is a real tragedy. When you think about it, these policemen should have tried harder to reason with Quran. They should have tried to talk to him to find out what happened and see how they could help him. There is never a need for such violence. Why should they hurt an obviously troubled person who really meant no harm. He was just cleansing the land of an infidel who was lesser then a dog. We need to understand where he was coming from.

Ok, if you believe that shit, get your head examined. The cops should have blown the bastard away. And instead of being put on leave, they should be given a medal. By the way, the above is a little of the crap I got from a very liberal, pacifist frien I have. Make you shake your head.

Wow! I am truly shocked and dismayed at the way people have just leaped to the conclusion that because the perpetrator has the first name Quran he is automatically Muslim and that this tragic murder was a Muslim thing.

You know, I am totally opposed to hate crime legislation because of the tendency of blacks and the media to automatically assume that crimes against blacks (or gays or any other “protected” class) are hate crimes, but crimes against whites are not. I am also opposed to the way the people on this site have automatically concluded that this guy is a Muslim who “snapped” because he is a Muslim. My first reaction was that it was probably drug-related, although JM said a later article said it was not. Perhaps he has a mental illness (NOT religiously-related) like schizophrenia, which usually presents itself at this very age, and unfortunately sometimes in this fashion.

Rose says she knows Quran. Perhaps she can enlighten us when more information comes out about why he may have done this. In the meantime, I think we should calm down and not get up a lynch mob to take revenge against Muslims.

The organism that committed this atrocity was sub-human. Not worthy of being considered as equal in any respect that matters to civilized or even uncivilized human beings. The sub-human organisms that begat him, raised him, encouraged him, taught him his hatred, laud and celebrate his his murders, either openly or in secret, excuse or attempt to justify his atrocity and otherwise attempt to make it possible for subhuman organisms like him to exist in today’s world must be eliminated from this earth, either by the destruction of their loathesome ideologies or the destruction of the worthless, hateful, putrid wastes of skin and organs that carry and spread the ideology of murder and hatred like a disease.
