No Way That This is . . .
. . . An attempted honor killing:
PEORIA, Ariz. – Police in a Phoenix suburb are looking for a father suspected of running down his daughter because she was becoming too “Westernized” and was not living according to their traditional Iraqi values.
Police say 48-year-old Faleh Hassan Almaleki of Glendale allegedly ran his daughter down Tuesday at an Arizona Department of Economic Security parking lot in Peoria.
Kind of ironic and symbolic, no? Run over in a Department of Economic Security parking lot because we’re so obsessed with economic security that we have virtually not a care about actual security of life, limb, and our basic freedoms . . . and it’s brought us to this kind of a country, where we’re losing those to Middle Easterners with Third World values and behavior.
The victim, 20-year-old Noor Faleh Almaleki of Surprise, remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
A second woman, 43-year-old Amal Edan Khalaf, also of Surprise, suffered non-life threatening injuries. Police say the women are roommates.
If only any of this were a “Surprise.” With this set of anti-Western, backward values and lifestyle, it sadly isn’t or shouldn’t be.
Okay, just kidding–of course, it’s an honor killing (or, G-d-willing, only an unsuccessful attempt). And I’m sure it has nothing to do with a certain extremist religion, right? Yet another of the nearly two billion hijackers who hijack it on a moment-to-moment basis.
Because, hey, there’s no way that a guy with the middle name Hassan is a Shi’ite Muslim, with a clearly Shi’ite Muslim middle name. Oh, and wait, didn’t we liberate Iraq for them? Why are so many Shi’ite Muslim extremists continuing to come here if we liberated Iraq for them and things are so great for them there now. Why must we absorb them (while they refuse to be absorbed into the values of regular American life)?
Hope the girl lives. And one wonders what she did that was too “Westernized”: Uncover her hair? Wear a miniskirt? Get a non-Muslim boyfriend?
Yup, any of those is legit grounds for death.

Live her own life like an American. But her father disapproved of it and sought to murder her. Maybe their children can become good Americans. But their parents are from ready to embrace American values. That’s the lesson of the week from Arizona.
