Hmmm . . . Far-Left Financier, “Former” Nazi George Soros Part of Limbaugh NFL Bid Group?
With all the attacks on Rush Limbaugh’s bid to be a part owner of the NFL’s St. Louis Rams, the most disturbing part of the story may be what isn’t being broadcast far and wide: that far-left financier and real-life Nazi helper, George Soros, also may be a part of the group that includes Limbaugh and seeks to buy the team. That’s what Bloomberg columnist, Scott Soshnick, is reporting.
Limbaugh’s group is led by former Madison Square Garden President and current St. Louis Blues and Real Salt Lake majority owner Dave Checketts, who brings a wealth of sports industry contacts, know-how and credibility. Checketts also brings big-time backers like George Soros, who financed the duo’s failed attempt to buy the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2003.
Checketts’s ownership of hockey’s Blues is backed by, among others, TowerBrook Capital Partners, which was formerly known as Soros Private Equity Partners before it was spun off from Soros Asset Management Group in 2005.
Not sure how Limbaugh can–with a straight face–be involved with Soros (a major funder of Media Matters and a host of other lefty bigwig organizations)–IF Soros is, indeed, part of the bid group as Bloomberg’s Soshnick claims. But certainly he must know the identities of his fellow investors in the group headed by St. Louis Blues owner Dave Checketts. Let’s hope that this bid only involves Goldman Sachs, though that hasn’t been the case in Checketts other sports team ventures.
Knowing this, it’s odd to hear the various criticisms of Limbaugh, when Soros helped the Nazis round up and evict Jews and send them to their deaths in the camps. Yup, Soros was a kapo and sent his fellow Jews to die. He admitted his role in a “60 Minutes” interview, and it was reported by David Horowitz and Richard Poe in their book, “The Shadow Party: How George Soros, Hillary Clinton, and Sixties Radicals Seized Control of the Democratic Party“:
When the Nazis occupied Hungary in 1944 . . . the Judenrat [a Jewish Council set up by the Nazis, which betrayed Jews in exchange for special privileges] recruited him [Soros] and other Jewish youngsters to hand out leaflets deceptively persuading unwitting Jews to turn themselves in for deportation to the death camps. Sosos showed one of the leaflets to his father. It ordered the recipient to report to a certain synagogue with a blanket and two days’ worth of food. Tivadar [George Soros’ father] asked his son if he understood the significance of the order.
“I can guess. They’ll be interned.” . . .
“George had liked the excitement of being a courier.” . . .
“I grew up in a Jewish anti-Semitic home,” he once quipped.
From a December 20, 1998 “60 Minutes” interview Soros did with CBS News’ Steve Kroft:
KROFT: My understanding is that you went out with this protector of yours who swore that you were his adopted godson.
Mr. SOROS: Yes. Yes.
KROFT: Went out, in fact, and helped in the confiscation of property from the Jews.
Mr. SOROS: Yes. That’s right. Yes.
KROFT: I mean, that’s–that sounds like an experience that would send lots of people to the psychiatric couch for many, many years. Was it difficult?
Mr. SOROS: Not–not at all. Not at all. Maybe as a child you don’t–you don’t see the connection. But it was–it created no–no problem at all.
KROFT: No feeling of guilt?
Mr. SOROS: No.
KROFT: For example that, ‘I’m Jewish and here I am, watching these people go. I could just as easily be there. I should be there.’ None of that?
Mr. SOROS: Well, of course I c–I could be on the other side or I could be the one from whom the thing is being taken away. But there was no sense that I shouldn’t be there, because that was–well, actually, in a funny way, it’s just like in markets–that if I weren’t there–of course, I wasn’t doing it, but somebody else would–would–would be taking it away anyhow. And it was the–whether I was there or not, I was only a spectator, the property was being taken away. So the–I had no role in taking away that property. So I had no sense of guilt.
It’s disgusting that this guy might have a chance to be a part owner of an NFL team. And I have to say, it’s disturbing–if true–that Limbaugh would be involved in a group that includes Soros, assuming he knows that this is the case. And since he’s presumably putting big money into something like this, I don’t know how he wouldn’t know (if, indeed, Soros is involved, as is being reported). Goldman Sachs has been identitifed as putting the deal together for the bid to buy the St. Louis Rams, so perhaps Soros is not involved in this one. I hope not. But, we’ll see.
This is very disappointing, if Soros is, in fact, involved.
Rush, are you so interested in, so obsessed with being part of the NFL that you’re willing to look the other way and be involved with a guy like George Soros, who funds your enemies and critics–funds AMERICA’S enemies and critics–and who rounded up Jews to their deaths for the Nazis?
I hope not. But IF George Soros is involved in this and IF you know about it, well . . . . Say it ain’t so, Rush.
