Kanye West, Serena Williams: Black Panther’s Muslim Son, Race Merchant’s Tennis Daughter Show True Colors; Only White Congressmen Need Apologize

By Debbie Schlussel

Two videos, from yesterday, show us, yet again, what we’ve known for years:  that if you are a minority you can get away with anything.  Or in the case of Serena Williams, almost anything.  But White people–like Rep. Joe Wilson–well, not so much.  Especially when someone from another race is involved.

kanyewesttaylorswift

First, there’s Kanye West, a proud Muslim, and his low-class behavior of Kanye West at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards (video below).  Why is anyone surprised by this?  Have you forgotten his “George Bush doesn’t care about Black people” outburst on the live telethon for Hurricane Katrina aid?  Did you forget that he is the son of a Black Panther?  People who cry racism all their lives and walk around with that heavy chip–no, boulder–raise kids who think they are entitled . .  . entitled to act however they please and lord themselves and their race over everyone else.  Make no mistake.  West’s ambush on live TV and comment to Taylor Swift–as she was accepting an award for best female video–that Beyonce’s video was better was dominated by racism.  Yes, Beyonce is Black, and we can’t have a White chick winning an award.

MTV Shows

Then, there is the daughter of race-merchant Richard Williams.  Her name is Serena.  Her foul-mouthed, f-word laden attack on an Asian line judge, yesterday at the U.S. Open, was beyond the pale (video below).  (Hmm . . . I wonder if she learned this behavior from her Muslim rapper boytoy and unwed father, Common.)  John McEnroe’s tirades directed at judges in the ’80s were nothing compared to her low-class attack, yesterday.  But will she lose anything over it?  Well, she was, indeed, disqualified.  But in the long run, nothing else will happen to this thug-ette because of it (other than a $10,000 fine, a drop in the bucket for her).

You can’t hear it on the video, but her “artful” prose uttered to the line judge included this:

If I could, I would take this f—— ball and shove it down your f—— throat!

Serena Williams was taught to behave this way by her father, who has long complained that everyone is racist against his two tennis phenom daughters.  This “racism” didn’t stop them from becoming two of America’s richest women or reaching women’s tennis’ apex.  Williams was upset, at the time, that beautiful tennis star Anna Kournikova was getting all the press attention and endorsement deals.  Well, that’s not racism.  It’s sexism.  No-one wants a man like Venus or Serena pushing make-up or jewelry or clothes.  In magazine ads for her own clothing line, even Serena realizes that, and has a model (that isn’t her) wearing her clothes.  (And in case you forgot, Williams is one-half of the sisterhood that defended the United Arab Emirates’ decision to exclude an Israeli tennis player, Shahar Pe’er, from the Dubai Tennis Championships.)

serenawilliamslinejudge

I doubt either of these people will apologize (West’s half-hearted “apology” continues to praise Beyonce–so, it’s not an apology).  But, hey, the only apology the mainstream media is demanding is from a man who rightfully challenged the President’s lie about illegal aliens not getting ObamaCare.

White Congressmen need to apologize to Black Presidents, and even though Joe Wilson did, he’s accused of racism.  But when two Black celebrities–a rap “artist” and a tennis player–attack non-Blacks, it’s just business as usual.

Or, rather, bid’ness az usual.

It’s “rightful” to scream at the President during an address to Congress?

On the other hand Beyonce was all class.

It would have been a diferenc story if Kanye had tried that stunt with Pink, Fergie or Madonna. I think Pink would have been the most interesting. He disses a little teenage girl.

Way to go Kanye you ‘Tard

Ms. Swift should’ve gone off on him. Where the hell was security??? I’d love to have seen him restrained and dragged off.

Wilson will continue getting donations from like minded conservatives tired of the lefts b.s. and bully pulpit.

She looks like Mike Tyson in a tennis dress. I wonder how long before the Jehovah’s Witness folks will excommunicate the pair like they did years ago with Michael Jackson.

Exactly ctb, when Beyonce won Video of the year, she invited Taylor Swift onstage to have her moment after being interrupted by that douchebag.

Don’t you know that racism has escalated since Odopey was elected TOTUS (Teleprompter of the US)? When was the last time, or any time, that Odopey’s spoken language was called out as sounding black, at times, especially when he is in front of a mostly black audience? Many, many people did this to Bush because they say he sounded like a bumbling fool. Yeah, I know there were many times Bush did sound like he was an uneducated half-wit. Unfortunately, the racism is coming from black people who feel they are entitled to everything, especially gov’t handouts, because of their skin color. How long do you suppose it will take for the great black leaders and unifiers (Sharpton, et al)to come out of the woodwork about these incidents to call, yet again, whitey as racist?

I hate it when white people use the term “Reverse Discrimination” about racism against white people. It is actually Discrimination, there is no reverse about it. I believe that the most discriminated people in the country are white male conservative Christians or Jews. I have experienced this, as well as having seen it being perpetrated on white males for far too many years.

Jarhead on September 14, 2009 at 11:33 am

I’ve heard everything now: you’re actually comparing the antics of celebrities at some silly showbiz awards show and an athlete at a tennis match to a Congressman interrupting THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!!! I’m surprised you made it through middle school, let alone law school!

Bryan on September 14, 2009 at 11:37 am

Is Serena a man or a woman? Maybe she’s a hermaphrodite like the South African runner. She sure looks like one.

In my observation I find that many blacks do not have a concept of what is or is not good manners. Behavior like Serena’s or Kanye’s is perfectly acceptable in the black community. Snapping gum, talking in theatres, generations on welfare–all this is normal, acceptable behavior in that cohert. Does my opinion make me a racist? I don’t think so. Truth hurts.

lexi on September 14, 2009 at 11:44 am

Bryan: Joe Wilson did not interrupt Obama. Biden and Pelosi were the ones jumping up and interrupting the boring teleprompTer with applause and standing ovations.

What are you, a sissy? Grow a pair, why don’t you?

lexi on September 14, 2009 at 11:46 am

Debbie, I have to disagree with you on this one (LOL! Surprise! Surprise!). It’s not “bid’ness as usual”. Both Williams and West are being strongly chastised (and deservedly so) all over the Web and the mainstream media. This is going to be a serious setback for Kanye West, both with the consumer base and in the music industry, where Taylor Swift is very well-liked. And I have a feeling that Serena has permanently damaged her career, which is a shame since lately, she and her sister were the only Americans playing worth a damn in women’s tennis

Serena had a meltdown, plain and simple. As long as she’s been on the tennis circuit, I’ve never seen her behave this way, so I doubt it was taught to her by her father. There is no pattern of on-court behavior on her part that gave any indication that her profanity-laden outburst was going to occur. And I’m sure if that many of us have engaged inappropriate behavior or language that was not taught to us by our parents (I sure don’t want my parents to find out some things I’ve said and done over the years). I’m willing to guess she is having some off-the-court issues that are bothering her, and combined with her frustration over her poor play, it resulted in that very nasty display we saw this past weekend and wow, was it bad! And her behavior at the press briefing afterwards was just plain weird. However, I think calling her a “thug-ette” is a little over the top (but that’s mild compared to the derogatory stuff I’m seeing Serena being called all over the Web today…most of it having to her race). I’m guess I’m trying to say that Black folks have our bad moments and meltdowns too, most of which have nothing to do with race….it has to do with being human.

It’s the same with Kanye West. He’s a jerk, plain and simple. What he did last night to Taylor Swift was atrocious. I have yet to speak to anyone who was happy with what he did last night. And yes, I do agree with you on this one that race probably did play some part in his boorish behavior last night….in his feeble alcohol-filled mind, he probably felt a Black performer (Beyonce) should have gotten the award. But I’m sure that there are many times folks at award shows have thought another performer was more deserving of an award than the person who won…but they never got up on stage and snatched the microphone away from the winner while they were giving their acceptance speech. That was beyond the pale. For Kanye West to do that to that poor girl last night in front of her family and fans shows how much of a punk-a** beee-yatch he really is. Thank God that “bootyliscious Beyonce” had enough class and integrity to call Ms. Swift back on stage and let her have her moment. That’s the way to represent the Lone Star State, Ms. Knowles!!!

Debbie, you’ve confirmed my theory that Americans now are so polarized, that race and racial motivations are now seen in anything involving a Black and a non-Black person (and we Black folks are at fault in this too). But in examining what occurred over this past weekend with Serena Williams and Kanye West, I saw not racial confrontation, but two people with some deep character flaws that need some work and some prayer (and a butt-whupping in Kanye’s case! But I ain’t trying to whup Serena…that big ol’ country-fine girl might shove some tennis balls down my throat!).

JibberJabber on September 14, 2009 at 11:59 am

Kanye hates white people so much that he opened his Fatburger franchise in a lily white suburb, not in neaby black area. Ask him why. (708) 364-8380

dm60462 on September 14, 2009 at 12:04 pm

The women’s final was classy and refreshing without the thug, low-class sistas in it.

I hope Serena is banned from all future Grand Slam events, but because she is black she probably won’t be.

God’s gavel will drop…

I think West’s mother died on the lipo table. And, I am sure there will be more for the others…

Anti Semitism carries a huge price.

goldenmike4393 on September 14, 2009 at 12:24 pm

Also, Serena’s meltdown seems to not only have been because of her low class background, though that seems to be a major cause. It is also the type of rage that steroid users often snap into.

She is a classic cheater who uses steroids. She would NEVER have been able to beat the other women over the years without her steroids use that have made her into a man.

Women’s tennis doesn’t extensively test tennis for steroids but according to the following website they are thinking about doing it. GUESS WHO is against it?
http://www.cheatorbeat.com/serena-williams/tennis/1521

JM on September 14, 2009 at 12:24 pm

    Wow!

Thanks for the information on the steroid testing. I say ban all tennis until implementation. I won’t use UPS because the drivers are all hopped up and the company doesn’t drug test.

    goldenmike4393 on September 14, 2009 at 2:25 pm

Totally wrong. Wilson insulted the President at an official meeting. Kanye jumped up at an awards show, was roundly booe’d, and is still being widely mocked in print. Serena lost her match, will be fined, and may in fact lose her entire purse for the U.S. Open. And WIlson’s ‘apology’ was half-hearted at best, and he’s in fact been rewarded for his crass behavior, with hundreds of thousands in donation from Americans who clearly agree with his boorish act. Quite frankly, while I never expected Obama’s election to somehow magically ‘cure’ racism, I think the reverse has happened: everyone has felt free to let loose their uglier side. From all corners and all speaker, whenever someone includes the phrase “I’m not a racist, but…” they usual are coming from that nasty place.

joconde on September 14, 2009 at 12:44 pm

You should look in the mirror sometime.

    Sorrow01 on September 15, 2009 at 1:01 am

Here we go again.

I’m not a fan of tennis, but Debbie I’m not sure you heard the news that Serena got fined for her outburst. After looking at JM’s link about the steriods issue, it’s now clear to me that she is juiced. Look at her body…no woman tennis player is supposed to look that lean.

But Kayne West…..what a piece of shit and a disgrace to every black american (which I happen to be one of ). Can’t the best person win for god sakes!?? WHY THE HELL MUST RACE BE IN EVERY DAMN SINGLE THING!?? I’M SICK OF IT!! I’M TIRED OF IT!!

While I never forgot his words about George Bush DESPITE HAVING BLACKS SERVE IN THIS ADMINSTRATION, I didn’t know the fact that he was a son of a Black Panther. I guess in his case, the ghettos doesn’t fall far from the neighborhood (if that makes any sense…).

[I believe that the most discriminated people in the country are white male conservative Christians or Jews.
Jarhead on September 14, 2009 at 11:33 am]

There was a time when White male Christians used to reject the idea of victimhood (when of course other people were being discriminated against by them), now that the shoe is supposedly on the other foot, they embrace it.

As for Serena Williams, she denied shouting “I’ll kill you” and that line judge was an idiot. How many White baseball players yell and spit at umpires?

As for West, he was kicked out and has apologized on his blog.

Rep. Joe Wilson is a stupid clown and is just getting money from more stupid clowns.

These types of blog entries are nothing more than manufactured outrage and only cause the deep racial divisions they aim to decry.

Norman Blitzer on September 14, 2009 at 1:01 pm

I am not claiming vicitimhood or looking for any sympathy, only stating the facts as they are in the U.S. today. I grew up a very poor white kid, joined the Marines and went to boot camp two weeks after graduating high school with only the shirt on my back. Since then, I have been on my own and have never received a gov’t handout. I put myself through college while working various jobs and never looked to others for a free lunch. I just believe that everybody should do the same and not be treated any differently because of their race. It is just the American way that hard work, dedication to a cause and motivation to excel will get a person ahead in life, not being coddled and given gov’t handouts by people who believe in PC crap, racial quotas and other nonsense that has stirred up racial bias, not helping to reduce it.

Jarhead on September 14, 2009 at 1:18 pm

No, Jibberjabber, Serena was not castigated. In fact, I heard some moron sportscaster dwelling on the fact that Serena shook her opponents hand and focusing on that instead of the ‘roid rage thug outburst. Does tennis drug test?

I do not buy the argument that this is not about race. It is all about bad behavior that has been and is still accepted by blacks. Blacks do not confront their own, especially in public, and they do not criticize them for their bad behavior. That’s why we have so much problems in the black communities. Blacks have a problem confronting and condemning the deviants among them.

I heard Savage make a comment last week on his radio program that Obama was probably telling the truth here. The comment was something like (unfortunately I do not remember it verbatim) “Of course illegal aliens will not be covered under this law – Obama is going to give them all amnesty so they won’t be illegal aliens any more when they get covered”.

I am so sick and tired of all this outrage that a Congressman finally had the balls to call Barry Soetoro a liar.

These staged media events have become nothing but a lying session. When did it become acceptable to lie to the American people on National TV? Everything from the daily press briefings to speeches to congress are nothing but stage managed propaganda.

The media pundits that have their underwear in a bunch should be forced to answer when it became acceptable to lie to the American people.

That is what outrages me and kudos to Joe Wilson for letting Barry know we are not buying it anymore.

ScottyDog on September 14, 2009 at 3:15 pm

Joe Wilson told the truth about Obamacare and a spineless GOP leadership ordered him to apologize immediately. Black racism goes unsanctioned in our society. The only true racists are white people and its not because they use the “n” word. Just don’t look for the double standard to disappear any time soon.

NormanF on September 14, 2009 at 3:18 pm

Debbie I disagree with you about Serena, I agree whole heartedly with JibberJabber. I also would say about Serena, as wrestler Brett Hart proclaimed is “The Best There Is, The Best There Was, and The Best There Ever Will Be!!” If not for her sister Venus, she would probably have the most grand slam titles ever. Watching great athletes dominate their sport is something that should be savored like fine wine. Roger Federer, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, dominate or dominated their respective fields and it is awesome. She does not have the class as the rest but she has that passion and fierceness. Like watching the Patriots, Yankees dominate, true sports fans will watch in awe as the competition gets crushed. John McEnroe, Jimmy Conners, Billy Martin, Earl Weaver, Mike Ditka, Bobby Knight had tirades. I dont get it, what true colors is she showing? She is focused and intense about her play. I don’t think she should ever let up. She might have had a low class moment, but on the most part she melted down. It has nothing to do with her race. So when a white athlete has a meltdown, is it their “privileged and entitled” side that is coming out? That would be a ridiculous notion. Race baiting can work both ways. I don’t think race had anything to do with her outburst. Just an unclassy act like McEnroe. She should get a hefty fine and suspended from the next U.S. Open.

By the way she was far from losing. She was at match point, but I have seen match point against her and she came back and won.

Kanye is a fool and will always be a fool. Just more BS form MTV types. His stupidity never ends. By the way who is Taylor Swift? She looks kinda cute. I think it might be a setup. Beyonce and Swift get good press and Kanye gets more street cred. Sick but I wouldn’t pass it by Hollywood. The economy is hurting sales.

Jarhead on September 14, 2009 at 4:30 pm

One can easily detect the trailer-trashy upbringing of both Serena Williams and Kan’ye West (however it’s spelled). IMO here are two of the biggest racists around – yet their skin color gets them a free pass each and every time they open up their racist traps.

Steve Harkonnen on September 14, 2009 at 3:48 pm

To some, it may be a Black & White issue. To me, I see it as folks’ who’ve lost it at a time when it poorly reflects upon them in the most.

Kanye West & Serena Williams will have to reconcile their behavior with some of their fans and the public. The media will, as usual forgive them quickly and get right back to that ‘Joe Wilson thing’, the real outrage.

That aspect of the state run media ain’t gonna change anytime soon.

P. Aaron on September 14, 2009 at 4:46 pm

Blacks as a group will never be satisfied until whites are gone. The surprising thing is not their savage behavior, but that anyone would think it unusual. Also, I’ve noticed that since Obama arrived on the scene, what little self control they hitherto commanded has mostly disappeared.

About Kanye: Every time I see Kanye West, I automatically think of the fitting South Park episode with him in it. Yes, they (South Park writers) truly had him pegged and have been correct in calling him a “gay fish”. So fitting. My question is why Beyonce didn’t speak out about the outburst… she certainly didn’t look disappointed by it. Oh yeah, I remember now why she didn’t… Debbie, you had her pegged with your movie review of “Obsession”.

Serena: You can’t take the low class out of this woman. Never liked her due to her arrogance/low-rent attitude. The tennis match outburst proved me correct.

PatsPFS on September 14, 2009 at 6:36 pm

Michael said “The surprising thing is not their savage behavior, but that anyone would think it unusual.”

FLASHBACK: John McEnroe case in point, someone said “savage behavior”? Some people need to get a grip.

No Serena and McEnroe are NOT inherently savage by nature because of their race. Just two pissed off people focused on winning and their passion and anger got the best of them. Kanye is a different matter, that guy is whacked out about race. I agree with Debbie on that he does walk around with a boulder on his shoulder.

As for Joe Wilson, the MSM is so obsessed about race baiting it never ends. MSNBC’s David Shuster goes full throttle and said, “The fact that Joe Wilson is from South Carolina…it strikes a lot of people as awfully close to the idea that maybe there was some sort of racist or bigoted element there.”

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/kyle-drennen/2009/09/11/msnbc-hosts-rep-joe-wilson-white-southern-racist

and said, “…all white males with short haircuts. They look sort of angry. No women, no minorities, and it looks like they’ve sort of become unhinged.”

Although I don’t condone ignorant behavior from ANYONE, regardless of race…relations are getting worse in this country. It’s a huge problem people have…seeing color first. However, I don’t really want to focus on sports and pop culture when it comes to conduct unbecoming an ELECTED official. With that said, I know that 1. Evil begets evil and 2. Karma is a be-atch. Like I said, it’s only going to get worse. Hang on… I’m just going to try and do my part and treat everyone as they ‘deserve’. LOL

Brains, tenacity and a very good understanding of our enemies is what she would bring to the table, much more than someone like McCain, who wouldn’t have the guts to deal with terrorists the way they should be treated.
