It’s yet another WTF?! moment from “Black Lives Matter” riots America.

I’ve been away in preparation for a new TV show I’ll be hosting (more about that in the next couple of weeks). But in the meantime, America has gone nuts. Up is down. Left is right. Wrong is right. Right is wrong. A career criminal drug user is an angel with several Presidential-style funerals. Anything portraying cops as positive, even cartoons with animals, is to be erased. Monuments and street signs have to go because all American founders and historical figures with any views or ties to the wrong side of slavery must be erased. And all movies that portray American history accurately must be removed and brought back with “context” discussions.

And the latest in this never-ending stream of absurdity to the nth degree is this . . . .

The band previously known as Lady Antebellum has changed its name to “Lady A.” WTF?! This is insanity. The word “antebellum” means “pre-war” and usually refers to the Civil War, as in “the antebellum South.” That’s all it means. It doesn’t mean, “We liked pre-war slavery” or “we wish for the pre-Civil-War South to return.”

But apparently, in the dumbassery that now dominates America, words must be erased, too. (We already know that Webster’s Dictionary is changing the definitions of word, including that of the word, “racism.”)

The band claims it didn’t realize what the word meant. I call BS. They had to know the word, as they chose it for their band. If you took a basic American history class in a decent (emphasis on that word) high school, you would have learned the meaning of the word, as I did in mine at Southfield Senior High School.

But whether they knew the meaning of the word or not, they’ve now assigned an extreme offensiveness to it and changed it . . . out of the utter stupidity that has now taken over American culture.

Country band Lady Antebellum will now be named Lady A in an effort to distance themselves from the former name’s pre-Civil War connotations.

“After much personal reflection, band discussion, prayer and many honest conversations with some of our closest Black friends and colleagues, we have decided to drop the word “antebellum” from our name and move forward as Lady A, the nickname our fans gave us almost from the start,” the band said on their Instagram page Thursday. “When we set out together almost 14 years ago, we named our band after the southern “antebellum” style home where we took our first photos. As musicians, it reminded us of all the music born in the south that influenced us…Southern Rock, Blues, R&B, Gospel and of course Country. But we are regretful and embarrassed to say that we did not take into account the associations that weigh down this word referring to the period of history before The Civil War, which includes slavery,”  the band continued.

“We are deeply sorry for the hurt this has caused and for anyone who has felt unsafe, unseen or unvalued. Causing pain was never our hearts’ intention, but it doesn’t change the fact that indeed, it did just that. So today, we speak up and make a change. We hope you will dig in and join us.??? We feel like we have been Awakened.

Yeah, you’re real woke now, aren’t ya? Here’s a tip: country and wokeness ain’t a good mix. BTW, I don’t believe for an iota of a second that a single person was “hurt” or “felt unsafe, unseen or unvalued” by the band’s name. If they did, they need professional help and medication. This is so much overwrought bullcrap.

Sadly, that stupidity is never gonna end. We are finished as a country because we’re sitting back and taking this.

Thank you, Black Lives Matter and American media for destroying this country.

Yes, a man in custody who had already been detained and subdued shouldn’t have had a knee on his neck for nearly nine minutes, three of them after he lost a pulse.

But that doesn’t justify turning our country into even more of a cesspool of decline and destruction than it already was. The movie, “Idiocracy,” has long ago come to life here.

Beam me up, Scotty . . . .
