Golden Globaloney: Oprah & the Black-Wearing Avocado Toast Crowd

By Debbie Schlussel

stfu

So, I was a glutton for punishment and watched the over-the-top, uber-indignant, self-righteous-to-the-max Golden Globe awards telecast, last night. Or was it the Golden Goebbels? These morons actually think that forcing everyone to wear a particular color does something for the world. Watching the show is one of those moments that reinforces the basis for electing Donald Trump President.

Hollywood–and YES, all of the actresses in it–are involved in promoting wanton, easy sex, a culture of harassment, and the objectification of women to the point of no return. That is their product. All of them–from the #MeToo hacktresses to the ones a la Reese Witherspoon, who pretend to be promoting “women’s stories.” They all have participated in the sexualization and objectification of women. That’s been the output of Hollywood for decades. Now, they pretend that wearing Black makes them warriors of some sort. Nope, just phony social justice warriors who whine and are offended on behalf of nothing particularly good for America.

These “thou must wear black” Nazis have not an iota of a clue of what fighting for women means. They resent directors and producers telling them to spread their legs off-screen, while they demand “equal pay” for spreading their legs for every male (and female) character on-screen. Um, hypocrites much?

The real working women of America are out there busting their butts to make ObamaCare monthly payments they can’t afford. The real women of America are struggling to prevent their daughters and sons from sleeping around and getting pregnant after watching Hollywood’s romanticization of one-night stands and the slutty life. The real working women of America are struggling to pay for the entitlement-addicted underclass that Hollywood champions, in order to create a permanent dominant Democratic party re-election posse. Yes, those women face harassment in the workplace, too. But it’s the real thing. Not some women in fifty-thousand dollar dresses with a hair-and-makeup squad preaching to the world about Oprah for President and Harvey Weinstein for hell.

You actresses wanted to get into an industry that sells sex for profit. Now you complain that you are asked off-screen to provide the same tawdry free sex you glamorized on that screen. Nobody forced you to become an actress/former waitress. This was the industry you chose, the industry you knew had become the softcore porn industry. And you chose to become its sex workers. You chose to show the world your “golden globes” and now you whine about the logical results, on an awards show. Um, you can stop the self-congratulation. Have you ever watched the garbage movies and TV shows you make? We’ve had more than enough. Time for America to say your time is up with us, too (and we kind of have, with TV and movie viewership dwindling exponentially).

There were the pretentious women in Black. And then there were the pretentious Black women. And speaking of Oprah . . . you think Oprah as President (Lesident?) with her purse Stedman, would make it better for women? PUH-LEEZE. She loves illegal aliens. She hates Israel (the only place in the Middle East where women have full equal rights) and particularly loves extremist Muslims, whom–as I pointed out on this site over and over and over–she used her trashy daytime talk show to promote and propagandize for. And we all know how they treat women. As I always say, Oprah is my top choice for “Women We’d Like to See in a Burqa.” Under a President Oprah (G-d, that’s a scary phrase!), more women would be jobless and penniless. She loves ObamaCare and helped its namesake get elected. She loves big government and regulations (unless they apply to Harpo Studios and the OWN Network) and minimum wages that keep women out of the workplace, that keep Oprah’s ethnicity out of the workplace. You want that for your Presidency? Only if you’re a moron. Meanwhile, on Friday, a statistic came out that got almost no fanfare: Blacks have the lowest unemployment rate in America under President Trump that they have had since 1972. Yes, the lowest unemployment rate for Blacks in 45 years. Nearly a half century. This should be all over BET, not to mention Oprah’s OWN.

Who’s Your Daddy? For HOprah, It’s Harvey

By the way, Oprah getting a “Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award” for the trash she contributed to America, is just laughable. Cecil B. DeMille? Cecil B. DeMille! The guy is spinning in his grave. I guarantee it. DeMille was a masterful filmmaker, a craftsman in onscreen storytelling. Oprah is a woman who spent 25 years on America’s daytime TV having men cry on TV and otherwise humiliated. She’s a purveyor of an egomania vehicle “magazine” with her mug on the cover every month and suggestions to buy $500 cashmere Q-tips because they’re her favorite things. (Okay, I made up the cashmere Q-tips, but she recommends average Americans purchase similarly absurd and absurdly expensive luxuries.)

Watching these pretentious women in black reminded me of the left-wing anti-Israeli “Israeli” women who call themselves “Women In Black.” They dress in Black and harass Israeli soldiers at border checkpoints, enabling Palestinian terrorists with bomb vests on, to have an easier go at it. They pretend to be Jews and Israelis just as these women in Black of Hollywood pretend to be Americans and patriots. They are neither. And you know that if nobody were looking, Hollywood’s Women in Black would be harassing our military men just as their compatriot Women In Black do in Israel. Heck, this #MeToo Hollywood baloney has gone so far that Army General Ryan Gonsalves, at the end of December, was denied his third star promotion for calling a female Congressional staffer, “sweetheart.” The PC world has gone overboard.

I watched as “the smartest guy in the room” (when the room is a bathroom stall, and even then, he might not be the smartest) Seth Meyers told jokes that pretended to be against Hollywood harassers, but were mostly digs at Trump and Middle America that both elected him and made everyone in that awards room richer than their wildest dreams. These are elitists. They don’t care about women. They don’t care about doing the right thing. They care about nothing but themselves. We see that in the anti-American crap they put out on a regular basis. We were lectured about how America will soon become “The Handmaid’s Tale.” That was a dig at Trump and the Trump electorate. We also got that in Oprah’s vastly overrated self-aggrandizing speech. The fat Black Lady President-wannabe wears no clothing. No, Oprah, Sidney Poitier’s Oscar was NOT–NOT!–the same as refusing to sit in the back of the bus. Nor is your career, which was made off the backs of exploiting average Americans on a gazillion-dollar-making daytime TV talk show. No, that’s not civil rights. This is showbiz. That’s it. (And Oprah is no Sidney Poitier, who had class and grace.) I’d much rather have Trump in the White House than anyone these frauds want.

None of these Hollywood bims helped me or did a thing when I told the world how Sean Hannity blackballed me from FOX News for refusing to go to his hotel with him. Where were they then? Why isn’t it “Time’s Up” for them with that? ‘Cuz they don’t really mean it. It’s just jingoism and grandstanding for these Hollywood hags. Nothing more.

So, stop–STOP!–Hollywood chicklets. STOP pretending you are crusaders for civil rights of any kind. You are crusaders for your right to continue to eat $26 avocado toast and wear $400 emu butt-gland cream on your facial blemishes. That is all you are and all you are doing. You never helped a female farmer out in Missouri try to get her and her husband’s tractor started while they are fighting government protection of some obscure insect living in a rain-puddle amidst the crops.

It was beyond nauseating to watch NBC’s Today Show “journalists” butt-snorkeling these people, including Tenth-Grade drop-out Emma Stone, as if they’d found the cure for cancer and solved world hunger at the same time. Just sickening. Natalie Morales said some things to some celebrities that were so outrageous, so obsequious, that I can’t even remember them because they’re probably blocked out of my mind for sanity’s sake.

Also, I note the near-universal black-wearing that went on here. It’s emblematic of the group-think mob mentality of the Hollywood left. These elitists insist on wearing black, then you had better wear black. I had a glint of admiration for the three women who dared not go along and wore their own choices of color. One, however, Blanca Blanco, barely wore anything to speak of, unless you call that barely there burgundy velvet washcloth a dress–the usual selling of sex and the resulting sexual harassment that Hollywood exemplifies. She was, of course, excoriated all over social media, not because she wore a sleazy stripper outfit, but because she dared not to conform to the dictatorial, politically correct color mandate. The color black and “Time’s Up” pins worn at the Golden Goebbels remind me of all the AIDS and breast cancer and other sundry awareness ribbons and pins they used to wear at these awards shows back in the ’80s and ’90s. Some “fashions” should never make a comeback.

Last year’s movies up for and winning awards at this show were mostly a blur of boring, crappy social justice warrior films that will make as much difference in the world as “Time’s Up” and black dresses and pantsuits. As in, none.

***

Reader Skunky:

On the stoopid Golden Globes: I keep rolling my eyes at women wearing black for an industry they love to be in that focuses 100% on their bodies and how naked they are. The trend has only being increasing exponentially since the mid 80’s…which is why I stopped being a friggin’ feminist in the 90’s. Now they are gonna wear black because some hornbag men got caught going after the bodies they loved to show off? Oh brother, I have no interest in a grandstand like that except to point and laugh. Gimme a break. Ugh.

Right on.

“Hoprah” strikes again. As an aside, when will that woman resolve her weight issues?

Primetime on January 8, 2018 at 2:34 pm

    She’s like a yo-yo in that regard.

    Ken B on January 9, 2018 at 11:20 am

Debbie – great column. What hypocrites these women were last night. The phrase “casting couch” is 100 years old. How many of these sleaze balls in the past clapped for Roman Polanski, child rapist, and Pervey Weinstein, who had the reputation as sexual harasser? I liked the number of woman who wore dresses which were split up the side or better yet, up the front so they could display most of their breasts. Viewership for the GG is down 5% from last year (from 20 million to 19 million).

I loved it when Natalie Portman made the snide remark about all the nominated directors being male. A few of the nominees did not look happy. What Portman was saying was that one or more of the directors were there at the expense of a more qualified female director.

I am glad Gary Oldman won for best male actor in a drama movie. Most of the TV and cable shows nominated either I do not watch or never heard about. The Handmaid’s Tale is such a crock. As if the West is in danger of imposing such conditions on women. I wonder if this cable show would have been nominated if it was about women in Muslim countries being second and third class citizens?

On another note, I read where a university has a course called “Queering the Bible.” Will that university offer a f/u course called “Queering the Koran and Haddiths?”

The number of women in the US who call themselves feminists are at 17% (in Britain, it’s apparently below 10%). More women will eschew the cause after viewing those self-proclaimed feminists last night.

Concerned Citizen on January 8, 2018 at 3:02 pm

Another reason I don’t watch awards shows-full of nothing but shallow hypocritical fools. And they are boring.

mindy1 on January 8, 2018 at 3:29 pm

I saw Twitter suspended your account.

You could say it only here as result.

People who wear black ostensibly to mourn Trump’s presidency have a lot in common with those wearing burqas and chadors.

Good thing I didn’t watch their four hour love-in showcasing their contempt for America.

The Golden Globes crowd have nothing to teach the rest of us about decency and values.

Then again our so-called artists are exactly those who should neither be seen nor heard from.

NormanF on January 8, 2018 at 3:33 pm

Excellent article of you articulating on the paradoxes of the Golden Globes from yesterday, I was too busy watching “Adult Swim” programs on Cartoon Network, and Yuri Bezmenov was right in his time when he was alive that not only the media being biased, but also our social institutions of Hollywood and other elements being corrupted of ruining the intellectual morale of American human nature.

Sean R. on January 8, 2018 at 3:42 pm

Wow, Debbie, I admire your grit to actually watch that Hypocrite-Heaven Extravaganza. I’d rather listen to Freddy Kuger massage a chalk board for an hour than to sit through that tripe.

I don’t know why anyone on that show made a reference to Sidney Poitier’s Oscar. Whatever the reason, I’m certain that the reference was a hypocritical one. When Pontier won his Oscar, he did so humbly and spent a good portion of his acceptance speech acknowledging the producers and filmmakers who had given him the opportunity to perform on-screen and who made it possible for other black performers to break the mold of past casting decisions. In fact, he chose to share the stage with producer Walter Mirisch, whose Mirisch Company produced In the Heat of the Night, which starred Poitier and Rod Steiger.

Ralph Adamo on January 8, 2018 at 4:05 pm

We missed you Debbie. I hope you are OK physically and all is going well for you.

In terms of wit, telling it like it is and providing insight into what is actually happening this is one of the best pieces I have ever read by anyone.

David Makowsky on January 8, 2018 at 4:48 pm

The best article I’ve read in a long, long time. Debbie, you made my day.

Pat Cohen on January 8, 2018 at 5:09 pm

You Trumpanzeez are at it again. Every single one of your should bow down to Queen Oprah. The Male Trump Cucks should be massaging her feet and painting her toe-nails and the women cucks brushing her hair and lathering her body with perfumed laced lotion. It took a woman like her to teach you all about humane values! Learn something KenB

I will note this, Ive been looking for a word opposite of Beard for the ladies in the closet. Purse is perfect!

DisgustedAtYouPeople on January 8, 2018 at 6:16 pm

    “DisgustedAtYouPeople”:

I take that for sarcasm, but it is subtle enough that if that is how you meant it you might end with the /s tag.

You liked the term “purse”, I liked the term “butt-snorkeling”.

Rick on January 10, 2018 at 12:00 pm

Debbie Glad you are back! Could not bring myself to watch the GG. Met both Oprah and Stedman & have a number of friends that have worked with them on and off. Oprah struck me as insincere & self centered. I heard she would be warm & understanding towards a guest on her show but backstage after the show would be rude-either ignore or insult them. After she closed her company she sold her used clothes for a profit. Oprah as President would be a nightmare!

PaulaMalka on January 8, 2018 at 6:43 pm

And how about Meryl Streep’s typical speech, where she said, in essence, that the harassment scandals are nothing compared to Trump!

Hollywood – Ass backwards
oprah – Ass BLACKwards

Martel on January 8, 2018 at 7:12 pm

Amen! Too many stupid people to realize what cretinous hypocrites these Hollyweirdo Narcissists are! And too dopey to see how the Leftist media is “nudging” them to talk about that fraud Dirty Bitch Winfrey today! Oh yeah, that closet lezzer is gonna be President? LOL. Where will she put her fake boyfriend SteadWoman? Who would admire a woman who kept her fake BF around for decades and he don’t even respect her enough to marry her even if she was straight as an arrow?

Skunky on January 8, 2018 at 7:25 pm

Is your twitter gone for good? What’s the story there?

Tommy Thomas on January 8, 2018 at 7:26 pm

Debbie came out with a very timely piece. Women who go into the entertainment industry know what they are getting into, unless they are child actors. Hollywood has been promoting empty and affectionless sex for decades now. Why should these women, who made such tawdry pictures for big bucks be surprised that their work has had such an impact on society and the workplace. These woman are like strippers who complain about their patrons leering and ogling them. It is a laugh. These lovelies have mainstreamed perversity and narcissism, but complain when they themselves experience the results. Did any of these women give a thought to what Roman Polanski did to more than one underaged girl in his career? I am tired to the fake virtue and hypocritical male baiting. These women live lifestyles, for the most part, that belie their professions of solidarity with ordinary women and their needs.

I haven’t been watching these awards since… forever, and thanks for telling me that I didn’t miss much. Like you said, their grandstanding against a climate that they themselves created is absolutely hilarious!

Infidel on January 8, 2018 at 9:21 pm

Actually, Oprah is the perfect Democratic Party candidate. She has a lot in common with Hillary. For starters, they are both known by their first names and are frequently referred to in that way.

Second, they have virtually identical “values.” (I hate using this word because it implies that they have some sort of positive values, but you know what I mean in this context.)

And third, Oprah is sex abuse enabler–just like Hillary–but in a different way.

Aspiring British actress Kadian Noble said in late November 2017 that Harvey Weinstein used Oprah (and also Naomi Campbell) as a means to seduce Noble. Oprah and Naomi were willing props to help Weinstein in his quest to look legitimate.

Although this is just one of the many cases filed against Weinstein, it’s an especially notable one here because it points to Oprah as a tool of Weinstein’s deceit.

Ralph Adamo on January 8, 2018 at 9:42 pm

One of your all time best, Debbie, and excellent comments, too. Good to see NormanF again.

The biggest shame of all is that I’ve been wearing black for years, and even when it wasn’t a daily thing, it was a highly favored thing. Now, I wear black every day, and have been for a LONG time. It’s a shame that these people have embraced narcissism and other forms of mental illness so thoroughly, they have now given an entire clothing choice a bad name.

Not just one of Debbie’s all time greatest articles, but one of the most truthful articles written about anything, . . .

EVER!!!

Alfredo from Puerto Rico on January 8, 2018 at 10:27 pm

I didn’t watch last night’s waste of time that was the Golden Globes. Thank you Debbie for enduring the crap and reporting what we didn’t miss and telling everyone that was on the show what the score is.

Also, for anyone who wants to know why Debbie was suspended from Twitter, and hasn’t already seen it, I explained it back on Debbie’s John Conyers piece.

JeffE on January 8, 2018 at 10:52 pm

Love it. These fools were spreading and flashing when younger now they complain about certain folks only when their ice queen witch didn’t win in November. Anyone see that issue of Times with some of these harpies on the cover?. I wish we could read their minds and see who’s lying and who’s not. They all act so privileged and are so vain mirrors must be big sellers out there. Oh for a change of pace maybe you could help me out. Alabama just won the national championship over Georgia and I’m stumped. Georgia, Oklahoma, and Clemson won their conference titles to get into the playoffs yet Alabama wasn’t even in the title game. So why were they allowed in instead of a better choice like whoever won the Big 10 title or the Pac 12 title?. It’s just bloody favoritism again and a black mark on sports like not cancelling the NFL season as punishment for all that stupid kneeling protest garbage.

Robert Guzzardi on January 9, 2018 at 8:20 am

This was one of your greatest articles Debbie. It was a hard hitting commentary on the duplicity of The Oprah and the Hollyweirdo leftists in general. This is exhibit A on why I haven’t watched an award show since 2000. The Hollywood left is just gone completely nuts. They think just because “Queen(of the damned)Oprag made a speech at an award show hosted by an unfunny libtard clown that makes her Presidential material. Forgive me if I can’t stop laughing. This is a woman who shilled for everything that was wrong with the Black Community under her hero Obola. Higher unemployment, more of us on welfare. more fatherless homes and here’s the kicker more abortions. Leftists like “Queen” The Oprah doesn’t care that Black babies are aborted 4 times more than White or Hispanic babies. She like all of her Hollywood headed brethren would rather support places like Planned Parenthood. You know the place where it’s founder Sanger called Black people “human weeds”. That’s “Queen” Oprag’s view on the Black Community notwithstanding her support of that creep Weinstein. Harpo knew full well what kind of “man” Wine Stain was just like all of her Hollyweird pals. It’s also funny as all get out listening to her “friend” Gayle King gush about The Oprah being “intrigued” about running for President. It would be Hillary all over again. Only this time she’d be in better health. Maybe “Queen” Ophag will give her every dumb leftist thinks she’d be a good president speech at the Oscars in March. This time the morons could wear White tuxes and gowns. We know the host won’t be any better and just as annoying. It’s going to be a good year watching the left implode folks so get your popcorn and favorite drink ready.

Ken B on January 9, 2018 at 12:22 pm

While I don’t agree w/ Sloppy Steve Bannon on Don Jr, I do agree w/ him on Ivanka: she is as dumb as a rock! She praises Oprah, and Oprah fans respond by calling on her to dis her dad.

On this article, Debbie hit the nail on the head: after doing everything onscreen to commoditize and objectify women, these broads have the gall to get on a soapbox about that very issue!

On Oprah’s candidacy, I wonder whether Fauxahontas, Kamala Harris, Cuomo, et al will willingly take a back seat so that she can run? Especially given that w/ super-delegates, they could, w/ some difficulty, overcome any challenge from her

Infidel on January 9, 2018 at 1:19 pm

Yes, well Hollywood is taking a knee so that means you’re the problem. And since America is addicted to entertainment and a feel good self image too bad for you bi-partisan dreamers.

I don’t really subscribe to the they looked part so they were asking for it line but what is striking is the lack of independence. The group think is strong with them.
Certainly those in the know have big plans for the little people of Amerika.

Mochizuki Koga on January 9, 2018 at 1:31 pm

Hmmmmmmm.

DOUBLE hmmmmmmmmmm.

Imagine a 6′ 1 1/2″, 185 lb., very muscular, 61 year old asthmatic day laborer walking down the street doing the Porky Pig. You know how he would walk down the street, muttering to himself, trying to figure stuff out.

Okay, okay, today, Porky Pig is sitting in a nearly empty house in Queens, with his computer astride a kids toy chest. Man, some people really like to get technical around here. As for the nearly empty house in Queens, don’t ask, don’t tell, and NO!!!, I’m not here illegally, ROTFLMAO!!!

(i) Stopped going to the movies in the early to mid-80’s, . . . check;
(ii) Stopped watching baseball back in ’94, after the last strike that wasn’t “really about money,” . . . check;
(iii) Stopped watching basketball after the Knicks traded Oakley, . . . check;
(iv) Told the NFL to Colin Kaepernick itself just prior to the 2016 season, . . . check;
(v) Stopped watching news on TV after turning off Not So FOX(y)-News in early 2011, due to their obvious Halalization and hard turn left, . . . check;
(vi) HAD to stop watching TV almost completely in NYC because since late May 2016, I’ve barely had access to it, . . . check;
(vii) Still don’t have TV service when I’m in Puerto Rico, because I haven’t been able to afford it yet, . . . check;

I don’t miss it, any of it. I don’t even miss my favorite cop shows, which can also turn me off due to some of the loathsome politically correct dialogue that inhabits much of the scripts. I mean, is the LL Cool J character in NCIS: Los Angeles a walking advertisement for shoving Islam down our collective throat, or what?

What’s your point, Alfr—-, errrr, Porky? What does this ridiculous excursion into my Blond(e) Ignition have to do with Debbie’s article?

The point is that a lot of Baby Boomers like me were raised on the new American Culture that emerged after WWII. Entertainment on a mass scale. Movies, TV, radio everywhere, toys, fun, recreation, free time, and the wild drive toward a society where we all have fat bellies, and push buttons to get things done, anything.

America became so enamored of this new culture that it started to grow, like a gluttonous monster that never stops feeding. And America convinced itself that we NEED this stuff in our lives.

Not enough people stopped to heed the simple, yet brilliant philosophy of one line from the movie A Bronx Tale, “Mickey Mantle ain’ gonna pay your rent.”

Indeed. Wish I had heeded that sooner, and more profoundly in my own life. I had begun to do so before that movie even came out. All we really have besides God of course, is the people we love, and those who love us back.

Debbie’s article is a perfect philosophical primer on changing one’s life, the fact that we don’t NEED ANY of these people in our lives. And we never did. It is possible to let go of all the stuff we’ve been RAISED AND TRAINED to accept as being a natural part of life on earth.

How shallow it’s all become, hasn’t it? These people seek to shape what we see, what we hear, how we think about it, and therefore, how we go about our lives, under THEIR INFLUENCE.

Their influence is an insidious one, and can lead to the same mental illness, that of liberalism, moral relativity, and all the ills that go along with being who they are, and what they preach.

Debbie’s newest article should be required reading for any American trying to make a change and get their head straight or perhaps instruct others, such as teenaged children. Take a look at yourself, America. Is that what greatness is? Bowing down to these “cultural icons” and the political, social and overall cultural filth and superficiality that they embrace, preach and produce for our consumption?

It’s possible to change, America, although that won’t really happen until The Lord returns. And the regulars here don’t need any cultural reminders.

But if anyone out there can be reached, that we don’t need to have our minds and therefore our lives, shaped in the hedonistic, mindless, pleasure for pleasure’s sake philosophy that has engulfed this “once great republic” since the end of WWII, read Debbie’s article again.

Show it to someone else. Get them to read it twice, three times, if you can. No truer words regarding a subject (the show) and the people involved (Hollywood’s preening self-congratulatory vapid hypocrites) have EVER been written.

If you’ve already read it, do so again. I’m going to, right now, because even a wise old goat like me needs constant reminders of what’s truly important in life. It ain’t how many TD’s Brady threw last week, or who Katy Perry is dating, or whether or not NCIS will survive without Abby.

Those things aren’t important AT ALL, and that show Debbie wrote about is a perfect example. We can turn off EVERYTHING that has to do with them, not even know they exist anymore, and not only won’t we miss them, the only difference it will make in America is a positive one.

Alfredo from Puerto Rico on January 9, 2018 at 1:39 pm

Taking a knee is about being in mourning for the misfortune of having been born the wrong whatever in America. That’s the only game in town for these ponies. That’s how Oprah got stinking rich. It’s the redemption song of Amerika. Even Russia puts coins in the jukebox to hear that song play.

According to the latest analysis, Winfrey’s net worth is even more than Donald Trump’s, and the thing that pushed her over the top is her investment in a company called Weight Watchers. In fact, her stake in Weight Watchers rose more than 22% just since her Golden Globes speech.

But the funny thing is that if Winfrey’s also a customer of Weight Watchers’, the product clearly isn’t working. However, such hypocrisy isn’t going to keep lefties from wanting to back her. Because of her hypocrisy–and not in spite of it–they’ll find her to be a real “heavyweight” contender and all the more appealing.

Everyone else has said just about all to be said. Great Post. Very glad you are back….. You have been missed!

ra1469 on January 9, 2018 at 8:19 pm

Ralph is a pig. Demeaning Oprah about her weight. Comments like that, send you to toenail polish duty.

DisgustedAtYouPeople on January 9, 2018 at 11:41 pm

Wrong, DAUP, where did I demean Winfrey because of her weight? I only pointed out that she’s one of the principle holders of Weight Watchers stock, which has dramatically increased in value because of her involvement, and said that if she were a customer of Weight Watchers the product isn’t working. What is factually incorrect about my statement? Nothing, of course. But I get it. You’re a leftist, so you hate facts and evidence and all that sort of “nasty” stuff that gets in the way of your agenda. But do carry on.

Ralph Adamo on January 10, 2018 at 2:08 am

I see what you did Mr. Ralph. You have me completely wrong. Typical of a Trumpanzee to deflect and demean.

DisgustedAtYouPeople on January 9, 2018 at 11:50 pm

So, DAUP. what do I have wrong about you? Nothing.

Ralph Adamo on January 10, 2018 at 2:10 am

Just like it’s typical of a Clintonoid snowflake. To melt and whine. Do you want cheese with that?

The other thing about these narcissistic “#MeToo” and “Time’s Up” movements, and why I have characterized both as utterly reactionary and reflexively anti-male: Every single one of those (largely) post-menopausal hags (the “largely” refers to the post-menopausal part, not the “hags” which every one of them is to a person) now leading them, had everything invested in seeing the ultimate hag, Hillary, become President – and absolutely refuse to accept that she LOST, LOST, LOST. Didn’t matter to the likes of Meryl Creep and Brashley Judd, never mind HOprah, that Hillary presided over the fall of Qaddafi in Libya and his replacement with, essentially, al Qaeda (never mind that Qaddafi was no piece of cake – as everywhere else in the Muslim world, his successors were far worse) – and thereby contributed directly to a slave trade now engulfing that country – with women among its biggest victims. Also never mind Benghazi and all the other disasters with which she’s been associated over her “storied”[sic] career.

And for all those bloviating about how Hollywood’s insidious influence on people’s voting habits was “shattered” by the fall of Weinstein: I direct you to the recent special election in Alabama for the U.S. Senate seat. Those that voted, did so in accordance with who and what the news media and Hollywood wanted and told them to. They not only did the “left” thing, they did the politically correct thing on top of it all. As long as there are non-thinking idiots out there, these airhead crypto-Commie celebs’ toxic influence will continue to fester like gangrene.

good for you I never watch that crap

I have said this before, that I have been calling Dopedup Winfield a New Age Slavemistress since the mid-90’s. Although I never watched her show, I know plenty of people who did, and by the constant headlines and gushing stories, it was easy to see that the Oprah-ization of America was firmly in place back then.

Her capturing of the minds of Americans in suburbia and “flyover country” was truly disturbing and mind boggling at the same time.

I became all too used to her burgeoning influence on seemingly everyone around me. This was long before my father died, so I was a denizen of NYC, locked in for life, seemingly still.

So, I have a confession to make.

When Debbie said $500 cashmere Q-Tips, if she hadn’t taken it back right away? Yup, I believed it as I read the sentence, and I still would be believing it.

Because that’s how messed up Dopedup Winfield and the people she bamboozled are. SO messed up, as to actually be believed.

Oh, ONE . . . TINY . . . gasssssp!!!, disagreement with Debbie.

I would say the velvet washcloth Blanca Bianco (whoever she is) wore was fire engine red, not burgundy.

ROTFLMAO!!!

This discussion about Winfrey as a potential candidate for president reminds me of a classic but little-seen film from yesteryear called “A Face In The Crowd.” This movie was written by Budd Schulberg and directed by Elia Kazan, the same people who created another, but more popular classic, “On The Waterfront. “A Face In The Crowd” starred Andy Griffith, Patricia Neal, Anthony Franciosa, Walter Matthau, and Lee Remick.

The movie depicts the rise of a media figure, not unlike Oprah Winfrey, who becomes powerful for his ability to convince people of almost anything, demonstrating exceptional media selling talent. (This talent is why Winfrey became a billionaire. If she plugged something, the hoi polloi would rush out to buy it in droves.)

Here’s a great scene from the movie in which Andy Griffith’s character tells a politician what he needs to do to sell himself to the public. This film was way ahead of its time, recognizing that candidates were going to be sold largely on the basis of image and sound bites, not anything remotely related to reality. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sm8Nde9fi6k

In this movie, though, Andy Griffith’s hubris leads to his fall. Like Winfrey, the public adored Griffith’s character and would buy anything he plugged. But one day he’s caught telling what he really thinks about the public. Here’s that scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=su3qmvCkvtE

Although “A Face In The Crowd” is a great movie, it did a disservice to the public by alerting such powerful media figures that they can’t be caught on camera/microphone telling the truth about what they really think of the public.

What actress said the casting couch is warmer than any cold floor?

#1Vato on January 10, 2018 at 4:52 pm

When Oprah said this: “So I want tonight to express gratitude to all the women who have endured years of abuse and assault because they, like my mother, had children to feed and bills to pay and dreams to pursue. To anyone else “The dreams to pursue”
Is she acknowledging women who whores themselves out for roles?
Did anyone catch that? Probably not, you pigs where too busy commenting on her weight. That’s why you all disgust me

DisgustedAtYouPeople on January 11, 2018 at 12:16 am

Uh oh. It looks like Seal forgot to drink his Harpo extra sweet grape Kool-Aid. He’s currently taking “Queen” Oprah to the woodshed. Too funny.

    Ken B on January 11, 2018 at 11:57 am

Uhhhhhh, as I wait for a post I put up yesterday or the day before to go up, I’m thinking very seriously about #1 Vato’s riddle. Any ideas? Sounds like a real comment to me.

Do we win anything if we get it right?

As for Seal, saw the headline last night, have no idea what he said, but it’s hilarious. And what’s Dopedup Winfield doing with a company named after a white, JEWISH comedian anyway?

Or is Harpo supposed to be something other than Groucho, Chico, and Zeppo’s brother? And what about that line in Duck Soup? Doesn’t Groucho get branded a racist for saying that? And if so, isn’t Harpo by association, a racist? And therefore, why would Dopedup Winfield name her company after a white, Jewish, racist comedian?

Inquiring, old, snow shoveling potheads want to know.

Alfredo from Puerto Rico on January 11, 2018 at 12:18 pm

Alfredo, Winfrey didn’t name her company, Harpo, after Harpo Marx. Harpo is her first name, Oprah, spelled backward. In any event, there was nothing racist about any of the Marx Brothers. The racial references in the classic “Duck Soup” were satiric, not racist. The line you mentioned referred to a then-popular song from the 1930s Depression-era called “That’s Why Darkies Were Born, ” which was itself a satire on racism.

Ralph Adamo on January 11, 2018 at 2:35 pm

I know, Mr. Adamo, I was just trying to use my Blond(e) Ignition to be provocatively silly. You know, kind of like Raid, but for trolls, instead of roaches, LOL!!!

By the way, the mirror scene in a dark room, is a must watch, but it must be a dark room, with perhaps a candle or two, LOL!!! Joints and drinks optional, but preferred.

      ROTFLMAO!!!

    Ken B on January 11, 2018 at 6:41 pm

If Dopedup Winfield said it was her name backwards, I call distraction politics. Of course, she HAD to know the association would still be made. And of course, in PC Amerika, the fact it was satire doesn’t count, by PC definition, Marx Bros. = Racists.
