Schlussel Sues Ann Arbor to Stop Sharia, ID Muslim Hate Crime Hoaxer Who Blamed Trump – HOW YOU CAN HELP
PLEASE HELP ME FIGHT SHARIA & MUSLIM HATE CRIME HOAXERS IN ANN ARBOR
I’m proud to announce that I’ve filed suit against the City of Ann Arbor, Michigan and its police department to get them to release the name of the Muslim female hate crime hoaxer who falsely claimed that Donald Trump’s election caused her to be attacked. It never happened, but authorities gave her a pass and declined to prosecute her, while they did prosecute a non-Muslim hate crime hoaxer who committed the same crime. An innocent homeless White male whom she falsely accused almost went to jail, and the Muslim hate crime hoaxer may be an illegal alien. The City of Ann Arbor won’t tell me the Muslim woman’s name or why they won’t make her face justice. Now, I’m trying to make them face justice and the Muslim woman face the court of public opinion and the disinfectant of sunlight. And you can help me do it.
What I am exposing in Ann Arbor (and in my other lawsuit against Dearbornistan Heights) is a preview of what will happen all over America, as the Muslim population increases and we continue to give up freedom and democracy because Muslims here demand it. I need your help to turn the tide. Here are the details on what I’m doing and what you can do to help.
The next time you hear anyone in the media or any politician claim that there is no sharia (Islamic law) in America, think of my lawsuit, Debbie Schlussel v. City of Ann Arbor (read the complaint filed by my awesome lawyer Dan Lehman). It is Exhibit A that Muslim-controlled American cities or those with large Muslim populations (and spineless politicians, police, and prosecutors eager to please them) do, in fact, practice sharia; do, in fact, engage in codified, established discrimination against non-Muslims and in favor of Muslims; do, in fact, choose Islamic law over laws made through the democratic process; and do, in fact, choose the koran over the United States Constitution. Sharia law means special treatment of Muslims vis-à-vis everybody else. What the City of Ann Arbor did in this case strongly illustrates all of this in action.
Last week, we marked the 16th anniversary of the Muslim-perpetrated 9/11 attacks on America, which resulted in 3,000 murders. But, as I’ve always said, 9/11 was the best public relations tool in Islamic history. Our media, our politicians–Democrat AND Republican, and our institutions have kowtowed and cowered to them in every way imaginable ever since. Yes, in all of those 16 years since 9/11, Muslims have succeeded in getting special treatment and evading justice. It’s well past time to stop just grieving for what happened 16 years ago and start fighting back. I’m proud to announce that I’m taking yet another legal step in fighting the good fight to stop sharia from encroaching on America, its laws, and its justice, which was supposed to be blind, but isn’t.
As you may recall, last November, after Donald Trump was elected President of the United States, three reportedly Muslim women in Ann Arbor (the far-left home of my far-left alma mater, The University of Michigan) claimed they were victims of hate crimes related to his election. They blamed Trump for alleged “hate crimes” they said were perpetrated by “White men.” Their claims were taken as truth and made international news headlines. But Ann Arbor police spent numerous hours investigating all three claims and determined that at least two of the alleged hate crimes were fabricated. They never happened. (The third alleged anti-Muslim hate crime supposedly occurred in a place where there were no cameras and no witnesses, so it cannot be determined if it actually happened.)
Earlier this year, I filed requests under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act with the Ann Arbor Police Department for the names of the two women who perpetrated these hate crime hoaxes and for the unredacted police reports about the investigations of their falsely filed complaints. I believe it is in the public interest to know the names of people who cry wolf, make false accusations against and defame an entire race and gender, and waste taxpayer money on police investigation wild goose chases, endangering victims of real crimes.
But the Ann Arbor Police and the City of Ann Arbor are trying to protect Muslim hate crime hoaxers, asserting an alleged “right to privacy” that doesn’t apply here. So I’m suing them and doing the work that some Americans–alleged mainstream “journalists”–won’t do: investigative reporting and pursuing and protecting the public’s right to know. You should note that the Washtenaw County prosecutor prosecuted a non-Muslim hate crime hoaxer, so there is a sharia-compliant double standard of “justice” in the county seat of Ann Arbor. You should also note that there are rumors the Muslim woman they won’t prosecute is not a U.S. citizen, may be an illegal alien, and prosecutors are trying to help this Muslim criminal remain in America by declining to prosecute her so she won’t be deported. Nauseating. And by the way, this woman almost sent an innocent homeless man to prison with her fake story.
In response to my request to the Ann Arbor Police Department (AAPD), AAPD did, in fact, release one name and one police report to me–that of Halley Beth Bass. That’s because she turned out not to be Muslim (the media falsely reported she was), and she was, indeed, prosecuted. In contrast, the AAPD would not release the name of the Muslim hate crime hoaxer chick to me, and the police report they sent me was heavily redacted. Again, the Muslim hate crime hoaxer was not prosecuted. (Bass, FYI, is your typical 20-something lefty loser. She works at Zingerman’s, the pretentious hipster uber-gourmet deli, where sandwiches cost nearly $20, where Barack Obama appeared to announce his support for a $15 minimum wage, and where illegal aliens are harbored.)
The Muslim woman claimed a White male threatened to set her on fire unless she removed her hijab–her Muslim headscarf. In what I could read in the redacted police report, I noted that the woman went on and on with her story, and described the alleged perpetrator as a White male with blonde hair and “stubby” facial hair. She said he had bad breath that may have smelled of alcohol. She had a session with the police sketch artist, and they drew up a sketch. All of this detail was sent on a BOLO (Be On the Lookout alert) to all nearby police. The University of Michigan Campus Police found a homeless man who matched her description exactly and designated him a “person of interest.” The man would probably have been arrested and charged, were it not for the Muslim woman’s roommates who finally got a conscience and outed her to police as making the whole thing up (to impress her Muslim ex-boyfriend who dumped her). The homeless White male would have likely gotten a public defender, who would mostly likely have pleaded the case out, and the White male would have a criminal record and probably some jail time. There is a reason why my late father used to call Ann Arbor “Moscow on the Huron” when I was an undergrad at Michigan (and why he later said he should apologize to Moscow for the insulting comparison).
[My fave part of the unredacted portions of the police report is this gem: the Muslima chick hate crime hoaxer’s aunt told the Ann Arbor Police, “Her dad won’t come in to the apartment . . . because other women live there.” Yup, that’s Islam. AND Islam in America.]
I’m suing to get this Muslim hate crime hoaxer woman’s name, because it is in the interest of everyone to know who she is. There is no reason for secrecy–no reason to protect a criminal who wasted hours and hours of time of at least two police detectives (the FBI was also involved), merely because she is Muslim. There is no reason to shield a woman who nearly sent an innocent man to prison. And I’m suing to get the entire, unredacted police report (minus the woman’s address and phone and social security numbers). It is in the public interest to know what was redacted and why many whole paragraphs, including a discussion her lawyer had with the Ann Arbor police, were blackened out and shielded from public view. Given the circumstances here–including and especially that the woman was not charged–we are entitled to see what information is in the report that helped shield the woman from prosecution for committing what is a heinous crime because it wastes resources and almost sent an innocent man to jail for a crime he did not commit, a crime that never happened.
I could have done this lawsuit on my own. There is very little money involved even if I win, though this is not about money. Michigan FOIA laws limit penalties to under $10,000. Also, I expect the City of Ann Arbor to spend enormous amounts of taxpayer money to play dhimmi politics with this, keep the growing Ann Arbor Muslim population happy, and buy their votes. I think it’s always best to be represented by a good lawyer. That’s what I tell my clients. So, I hired my friend and trusted lawyer, Dan Lehman, to represent me and file this case. Dan is already representing me in my ongoing lawsuit against the City of Dearbornistan Heights regarding a similar sharia-based violation of the Freedom of Information Act (in order to protect Muslims), in which my civil rights were violated because I am not Muslim. Dan is an excellent attorney, I am proud to have him representing me, and I cannot wait for this case to proceed. Liberty, freedom, and democracy depend on it. America’s future depends on it.
I have several similar lawsuits in the pipeline, which–G-d-willing–I’ll be filing in the near future. But this work takes time and is expensive, including filing fees, copies, service fees, postage, and many other costs associated with it. If you want to help my efforts–and I need your help–please contribute through this site to my Paypal account. You can either use the yellow buttons on the left for a one-time donation or monthly subscription, or you can prevent the PayPal fees by going to PayPal and sending it directly to: writedebbie@gmail.com. No amount is too small. Your support means more efforts like those described herein. Principle is expensive and costly. But it’s worth it.
I’m not a big operation, just a one (wo)man shop. But I think I do more to fight the encroachment of Islamic extremism in America than others who shriek on FOX News and/or demand money to fund billboards and bus ads promoting their personal websites. Those attention-whores have done nothing to actually fight the encroachment of Islam on America. I’m doing it, though, through this and other lawsuits and many other things I’ve done that you’ve read about on this site over the years. And I’ve gotten a lot of Muslim death threats in the process. But I proceed because it’s important work, and we cannot cave to extremists. This is America. Fight for it.
I’d really appreciate your support and help in my efforts. My operation is lean and mean and gets things done. Please help me fight the dhimmi power.
Read coverage of my lawsuit on MLive/The Ann Arbor News – some excerpts:
ANN ARBOR, MI – Conservative commentator Debbie Schlussel is suing the city of Ann Arbor for not releasing the name of a Muslim woman who reported a false hate crime. The lawsuit . . . alleges the Ann Arbor Police Department violated the Freedom of Information Act when it refused to release the name of a Muslim woman who reported a hate crime on Nov. 11, 2016. In the highly publicized case, the Muslim University of Michigan student claimed a white man threatened to light her on fire for wearing a hijab, citing the election of Donald Trump as motivation. Ann Arbor police later determined the incident never happened.
When reached by telephone Tuesday, the cable news pundit pointed out that in a similar FOIA request, the Ann Arbor police released the name of Halley Bass, the 21-year-old University of Michigan student who also fabricated a post-election hate crime. Bass alleged that a Trump supporter scratched her on the cheek with a pin on a downtown Ann Arbor street because of her own anti-Brexit safety pin on Nov. 15. Police determined Bass made up the incident. She is serving one year of probation after pleading guilty to one count of false report of a misdemeanor.
Schlussel alleges police released Bass’s name because she’s white [DS: FALSE. I said the police released her name because she’s non-Muslim], and withheld the other woman’s name because she’s Muslim. “I think there’s a double standard here,” Schlussel said. “…I think there’s a concerted effort by a number of municipalities, not just in Michigan, but in other places across the country, to abide by sharia, which is Islamic law, and not by American laws. It galls me when I see this happening and then I see people in the media saying there’s no such thing as sharia in America. Yes, there is.”
Ann Arbor City Attorney Steven Postema said his office doesn’t comment on pending litigation. “We’re aware something was filed and don’t have a comment at this time,” he said. . . .
The lawsuit claims she called Ann Arbor police several times attempting to get the names of the two women who filed the fraudulent reports, but police never called her back. Ann Arbor police did not wish to comment for this story, deferring to the city attorney’s office.
In February, Schlussel submitted a request under the Freedom of Information Act to the Ann Arbor Police Department requesting the full names, unredacted police reports, pictures and other information pertaining to both cases of falsely reported hate crimes, the suit claims. Schlussel says she had no problem getting information about Bass. But the department still wouldn’t release the name of the Muslim woman in the other case, citing privacy and medical exemptions, according to the lawsuit. Schlussel claims the woman isn’t a victim, but someone who should have been charged with a crime. “They don’t have a right to privacy,” Schlussel said about people who fabricate hate crimes.
The report she received was highly redacted, which means certain information is blacked out. Conversations the Muslim woman’s attorney had with police detectives that appeared in the report were among the redacted material. “These conversations are not entitled to protection from public release,” the lawsuit says. “The public deserves to know the name of the woman who filed a false police report, fraudulently claiming that she was the victim of a hate crime and wasting public resources and many hours of police time …” . . . .
The Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office chose not to authorize charges against the woman, but never elaborated on why, according to previous media reports. Schlussel claims both the police department and prosecutor’s office are “politically motivated,” according to the lawsuit. The suit alleges the agencies have “two separate policies regarding hate crime hoax prosecution and release of FOIA records – one for Muslim women and one for everyone else.” “This Muslim woman, they didn’t prosecute her, even though the police spent an enormous time and resources on trying to investigate this alleged hate crime she admitted didn’t happen,” Schlussel said. “Apparently she gets a pass because she’s Muslim.”
The suit seeks a court-order forcing police to release the woman’s name and unredacted police report. No hearing dates have yet been set. She needs to face the music, and she isn’t,” Schlussel said.

A few other things you should know about this case:
* Some people have mocked me for asserting that this case involves sharia in Ann Arbor. But, in fact, that is the case here. For those who don’t know, sharia isn’t just following the koran or an Islamic preacher. Sharia is Islamic law, which has one set of justice for Muslims and another far harsher set for non-Muslims, known as dhimmis. That is exactly what is going on here. Those who claim this is “not” sharia do not know what sharia is and clearly are clueless about what is going on here.
* The City of Ann Arbor and its police department are claiming “right to privacy” AND “medical records” exemptions as their defense to not releasing the woman’s name and unredacted police report to me. But there is no “medical records exemption” for a police report. That only covers medical records (which are covered by HIPAA–the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act–the federal statute that covers portability and privacy for medical records). It does NOT apply to the contents of a police report, which is a public record.
* Some commenters on the MLive/Ann Arbor News site claim the police report and the woman’s name should be kept secret because she probably claimed mental illness. But she did this to impress a boyfriend who dumped her. That’s not mental illness. It’s stupidity and political correctness, as well as defamation (of White males). The non-Muslim hate crime hoaxer who was named and prosecuted, Halley Beth Bass, also had an attorney and also claimed mental health issues, including depression, as a defense to her crime. Yet, she had to face justice. Again, there’s a double standard here–one for Muslims and one for everybody else.
Every other accused party who commits a crime and claims mental health issues as a defense is actually named, charged, and forced to use an insanity defense in a public legal forum (the court), so that a judge and/or a jury of his/her peers can decide if this is legitimate. However, this Muslim woman gets a halal Twinkie defense (that she has mental health issues and doesn’t get prosecuted because she’s Muslim).
* As a practicing attorney, I’ve successfully defended wrongfully accused defendants in criminal cases where the accusers had a record of filing false police reports and/or making other false accusations. In fact, I defended a pro-Israel Muslim who was falsely accused by anti-Israel Muslims of a crime, and the same accusers had made the same false accusations about other third parties. That evidence is important, and the public has a right to know this woman’s name because people act out of habit. This woman likely made false accusations before and will likely make them again in the future. Her future victims deserve to know this information about their accuser–that she is the boy who cried wolf, and is not to be believed.
I wish people who falsely cried hate would be prosecuted. There were three black girls who claimed white men on a bus were harassing them, when as it turns out THEY were doing the harassing. I wonder if anything happened to them.
