“Get Out”: Racist Anti-White Horror Comedy of the Year

By Debbie Schlussel

Get Out” (rated R), in theaters today, is one of the better, scarier, creepier, more effective horror thrillers I’ve seen in a long time. It’s well-written, well-acted, and very funny. (I laughed a lot.) BUT it’s also incredibly racist, chock-full of the only kind of racism that is tolerated these days: the anti-White variety. This movie–the plot of which centers on race–is a Black Lives Matter delusional fantasy, in which all Whites are evil, and all Blacks are their innocent victims.

The story: Allison Williams (daughter of deposed NBC anchor and serial liar Brian Williams) is a rich, liberal White girl living in New York City. She and her Black boyfriend (Daniel Kaluuya) are going to her family’s posh estate for the weekend. It’s the first meeting of the boyfriend and her parents, and he’s concerned that his race might be an issue. Williams tells her boyfriend that she hasn’t told her parents that he’s Black. Don’t worry, she tells him. “My father would vote for Obama for a third time, if he could,” she says.

On their way to the mansion, they hit a deer, and call the police. A White police officer asks both Williams and her boyfriend for their IDs. Williams balks, telling the officer that he’s racist for asking for the boyfriend’s ID. Then, when they arrive at the home, something–a lot of things–is a little weird. The girl’s parents are a little too eager to show how much they love Black people–how “down wit da struggle” they are. The father (Bradley Whitford) repeats the line about voting for Obama a third time if he could. And the girl’s mother (Catherine Keener), a psychiatrist, wants to hypnotize the boyfriend, so he’ll stop smoking. Plus there are the docile Black servants who are a little too sangfroid about things. Same for the local townspeople. I had the feeling of “The Stepford Wives” when I watched this and Jordan Peele–who wrote and directed this–said that Stepford Wives was one of his inspirations for the movie.

My favorite character in the movie–and its hero–is a TSA agent played by Lil Rel Howery. He’s hilarious, and he’s a great parody of many Black Americans who are obsessed with racist conspiracy theories that usually have no basis in fact. (He also possesses competence and skill that are lacking in much of the TSA today. If every TSA agent were like him, security checkpoints at airports would be far more than the mere theater and props that they actually are.)

To say any more about the plot would give it away, so I won’t (though trailers for this movie pretty much give it all away, as does the one below). I think you get the gist of it.

I screened this movie with an audience that was largely Black. Most of them thought this was the greatest movie ever. And it is well done. But it’s totally racist, and I doubt they’d be clapping and cheering (as they frequently were) if the race roles were reversed here. In fact, if this movie had been made with the races reversed, heads would roll. Sadly, Black racism against non-Blacks is very chic and in vogue today and has been for some time. Object to it–as I am here–and you are a “tight-ass” and a “RAAAAAAAYCIST!”

As I noted, the movie is the project of Jordan Peele, one-half of the “Key & Peele” show on Comedy Centeral. Key & Peele was very politically incorrect, and I’ve posted some of the show’s skits on this site. They were funny and had no problem challenging Black American taboos. Peele claims that with Get Out, he’s written a politically incorrect thriller. Don’t believe him. Despite the fact that the movie is very thrilling–I was on the edge of my seat the whole time–it’s actually very politically correct, with Whites being the usual villains. And it makes a big deal of interracial couples and an assumption that everyone is intolerant of them–an anachronistic, paranoid view when it appears, on the contrary, that every brand–from Cheerios to Vibe Credit Union–seems to feature ads that are in-your-face with interracial couples and their kids.

Also, Peele is a biracial kid, himself, and the product of an interracial couple. Does he think his White mother, Lucinda Williams, or his White wife, Chelsea Peretti, are evil? The latter is pregnant with his child, who will be three-quarters WHITE. Scary! (At least, to him, apparently.) Plus, the movie’s plot, themes, and message seem totally backward and out of touch when White racism against Blacks is definitely in the minority and Black racism reigns supreme, is accepted, and has been institutionalized in everything from affirmative action, “diversity” pushes, minority set-asides, and even new Oscar voting rules disenfranchising older White voters in the Academy of Motion Pictures.

There is one aspect of the movie, though, that I loved. Peele exposes White liberals who are “down wit da struggle” (pretending they’re Black America’s biggest fans) as a bunch of phonies. And we know they are. We all know people like this. They voted for Obama out of White guilt and solely based on race. They defended whatever idiocy in which he engaged as Prez. They defend Black Lives Matter terrorism. Many of them are even part of the BLM movement, marching and harassing police. They’re incredibly annoying. And their pseudo-intellectual arrogance is undue but blatantly on display. This movie mocks them, and that’s social commentary that’s very welcome . . . and least for me. It’s the rest of the message about Whites in general that I didn’t care for.

Given all of this, I have mixed feelings about how to rate this movie. It’s really well done and entertaining. And really racist. If you can put the races of the characters out of your mind–which is impossible to do, especially since race is a central theme of the movie–then it’s a great film. I don’t wanna lie–as I said, I enjoyed watching the movie.

But I saw it for free. You have to decide if you want to give your hard-earned money to support well-done silver screen racism to be entertained.

And, so, I give it a mixed rating of . . .

TWO-AND-A-HALF REAGANS PLUS FOUR JESSE JACKSONS PLUS FOUR AL SHARPTONS PLUS FOUR OBAMAS PLUS FOUR MICHELLE LAVAUGHN ROBINSON HUSSEIN OBAMA IDI AMIN DADAS PLUS FOUR COLIN KAEPERNICKS

I’m no fan of horror movies and I’m not going to see this one. The whole thing is just stupid and I don’t think it’s going to do well.

Ghostwriter, I agree! Will pass! I get enough of this material from the Fake News Media for free

*Whoosh!* That’s the sound of this movie going right over your head. Your inference that Peele must think all white people are evil simply because the villains in this movie are white is asinine. Does Steven Spielberg think Gremlins are to blame every time his car breaks down? It’s a movie – it’s art, it’s entertainment. Your eagerness to assign some kind of social commentary to a horror movie seems to be based solely on the fact that it was written and directed by a black man. I’m white and I took the movie for what it was – entertainment.

    Hey, awesome virtue-signaling, there, Rob.

    Gee, you’re “colorblind,” huh?

    Nice job, ace.

Nobody has their finger on the pulse of America better than Schlussel.

Feed the public enough of these underlying messages as Schlussel points out in her movie review and it subverts with a programmed negative behavior a peoples discipline to think before speaking or acting. It twists and perverts peoples ability to be fearless to the truth and intellectually honest.

Schlussel’s analysis of the audience reaction and how they were being played is spot-on and fearless.

The manifestation is our voting habits. The underlying cause is the perversion of our culture and our ability and willingness to think as individuals.

Schlussel has the intellectual discipline to make this crucial separation and analysis of the underlying messages brainwashing people, subtly, hideously over time. The manifestations of our vote and shortcomings of even the most hopeful administrations are recognized first by Schlussel while at the same time being after-the-fact as again pointed out by Schlussel to this underlying perverse politically correct group-think, and as Schlussel would say – being pimped upon us.

Which is more important, Schlussel’s analysis and reporting of those manifestations in our daily political life, or her insight into the underlying causes by way of something seemingly innocuous as the review of a movie, television show, or personality? The conclusion is startling and powerful regarding each.

Nobody has their finger on the pulse of America better than Schlussel.

Poor Debbie has to see all these God awful leftist and racist movies. Glad we don’t have her job.

samantha on February 25, 2017 at 11:59 am

Well, in a perverse way, I have to admire the cleverness of this movie.

Many so-called conservatives have pointed to Obama’s two election victories to make the case that Whites in this country are no longer racists (making a concession that they supposedly were, in the past.)

But now, here comes this movie to show us that these conservatives were all wrong. Obama’s election victories do not, by any means, absolve us of our racism. Look at this woebegotten White man who voted for Obama. We know from the movie that he is not free of racism. Similarly, by extension, other Whites who voted for Obama are not free of racism either.

And weren’t we punished enough by Guess Who’s Coming for Dinner with the insufferable Katharine Hepburn? (the model for Meryl Streep)

But after all, this is its 50th anniversary, and Hollywood needed to show us that nothing essentially has changed.

Little Al on February 25, 2017 at 9:00 pm

Get Out is actually (spoilers) basically the flip side of the Kate Hudson film The Skeleton Key (2005), which had a very similar twist ending, except with the races reversed.

If Get Out is racist against white people then surely The Skeleton Key is racist against blacks (the villains, who are black, transmit their souls on to several white people over a century, including two small white children; the children’s souls are moved into the black servants, and the servants are then almost immediately killed by the children’s unknowing parents).

Watching Fox & Friends this morning. They had the segment with that little gnome Chris Wallace whining about President Trump not going to the White House Correspondent Dinner. Tony Snow this guy is NOT. Now that have that goofball Kevin McCarthy talking about the Oscars. I won’t be watching a bunch of Hollywood celebutards pat themselves on the back. Thanks again Debbie for this great review as I love your ratings. Girlfriend I nearly dropped my coffee I was laughing so hard.

Look on the bright side Ms. Schlussel, you’re being paid well to see a lot of junk. This also seems to have also ripped off
“Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner” and “Invasion Of The Body Snatcher” just without the charm or believability they had. Ah yes the Oscars are tonight, tons of butt kissing to happen at this, the most “diverse” Oscars. Well if they’re tolerant then how come all the major cop shows feature white actors in the lead roles?. Why don’t major comedy shows have black people in the lead roles like Big Bang Theory should?. I believe patronism is worse than racism because with bigots they tell you how they feel. Patronists, like Hollywood, only tell you what they think certain people want to hear.Oh and “La La Land” has been done before and better and they called it “Singing In The Rain” with Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds.

Robert Swords on February 26, 2017 at 5:59 pm

“Singing in the Rain” was pretty good but nowhere stunning as “La La Land.” Not even close.

Primetime on February 27, 2017 at 2:21 pm

I KNEW this thing was as racist as I suspected!!!!

CharlesMartel on February 26, 2017 at 11:54 pm

Spot on observations of today’s daily beat downs of traditional Americans and the sainthood of so many west coast hams.
I laugh at and talk about the commercials and shows that prop up these kinds of agendas. After working for the state most of my lifetime I have become a bit immune to these kinds of movies and commercials. That comedy team is not impressive to me, or anyone I know of. Also glad warren Beaty messed up their show with all the crap they were pushing out.
I continue to enjoy the common sense of Ms. Schlussel and her reporting. News that gets intentionally left out in other media.

Speaking again about the Oscars. And the Academy Award for best picture goes to ah ,er wait a minute folks…Ms. Philippines. Karma comes to the lib-nuts in Hollyweird and at the Oscars my friends…Ha! I couldn’t wrote a better script.

Ken B on February 27, 2017 at 8:48 am

This movie will play well at Baylor Waco.. The University in Waco is trying to downplay the 52 rapes of white girls by black football players. This movie should help brainwash the masses.

Karen on February 27, 2017 at 1:55 pm

Blacks are shaking down the film industry. I am absolutely livid that “Moonlight” got the Oscar for Best Picture last night over “La La Land.” And believe it, the only reason is that the voting was stacked in favor of blacks — in response to calls last year for more “diversity” (fewer white acting category nominees).

Affirmative action sucks. Time for white film lovers to fight back against racial shakedown artists like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

Primetime on February 27, 2017 at 2:19 pm

White folks should boycott this vomit. Heard you on the radio talking about how you liked ghe movie, Debbie. Sad.

Jerry M on February 27, 2017 at 7:18 pm

What’s the problem? Norman Lear made a career of doing this.

This here is where the problem lies. Now I personally most likely will not watch either of the two top nominated films but because those Black Poopy Diapers raised such a fuss last year, we don’t know if Moonlight deserved an Oscar, It may have, or maybe it was P.C apologetic bullcrap, but we won’t know because of the constant racial accusations these poopy diapers constantly bitch about when things aren’t how they “THINK” it should be. Primetime could be right, or he could be wrong, in his opinion, but false accusations of racism by Poopy Diapers is what shaped it.

MrBigBrain on February 27, 2017 at 8:03 pm

I guess the next step will be to devise formulas governing how many awards will be given to Blacks. Will one Best Actor equal two Best Supporting Actors? Formulas will have to be devised just like the colleges have complex formulas for their affirmative action quotas. The anger over the Best Actor award suggests to me that this might be coming down the road.

Little Al on February 27, 2017 at 8:20 pm

will give this movie 50 million who gives a crap

Rich.. on February 27, 2017 at 10:28 pm

I did not know until today what Isil meant and why the president started straying from the word Isis. He was basically supporting the fantasy of the Islamic State encompassing all of Israel. The L meant Levant. I am just realizing how hostile Barack truly was towards Israel.

MrBigBrain on February 27, 2017 at 11:31 pm

Great review.

I was not racist before Barak’s 8 year act. Now I am.

He, Obama, was the smiling n@&&$% that the masses thought would rescue us from that white racism that was in our DNA.

Instead he wrote the script for Black racism as an accepted life form.

So the movie, as you describe it, to me appears to be a suggestion of Obama’s third term where he is now trying to brain wash us whites into accepting black racism as normal.

Panhandle on February 28, 2017 at 2:36 pm

Panhandle, I know Barack frustrates and irritates you but he isn’t the all mighty OZ, don’t give him that much credit. lol

MrBigBrain on February 28, 2017 at 5:25 pm

I am white, and watched this movie with by husband, who is Black. I agree about the white liberal guilt angle of your comments. I also agree about the TSA guy. But how you jump to the conclusion that this is a commentary on all White folks is a bridge too far. It is FICTION. It requires a willing suspension of disbelief. The escapist release expressed at the end of the movie was pretty universal, Black and White. Why do you have to make everything “Accusatory Racism”? Just enjoy the GD movie. It was scary and fun. That is something all too scarce these days.

Mike953 on March 12, 2017 at 7:58 pm

Just start boycotting this crap. It’s obvious that most so-called entertainment is designed primarily for social engineering not entertainment. I should say social disintegration. As a Christian the quote to not be conformed by the world rings ever more true these days. Entertainment is squeezing people into the world’s mold, and the world is increasingly rubbish.

trev on March 22, 2017 at 2:41 am

Wow! I think this review was racist. Do you remember a movie called The Skeleton Key? It was about black people who put their souls in white people and take over their bodies. Did you write a review about that movie and say it too was racist? Just wondering..

karin on April 2, 2017 at 12:36 am

ITs also a rip off the movie Society from the 1980’s…………………………………………………..

jason on April 5, 2017 at 4:21 pm

So because the villains are white its racist? Didn’t think the film showed genetic inferiority to whites. Are you as critical of all horror films and television shows where the black male always dies and usually first? Are movies and television shows in which the protagonist is black or non white equally racist? I’m interested to knoe your stance.

Carl on April 11, 2017 at 4:32 pm

You dumbass! All white people are evil in the film and blacks are supposed to be superior since all the stupid, evil white people (and a japanese) wants to put their minds inside the blacks.
    Fucking hollyweird.

Randolph Carter on April 25, 2017 at 8:33 am

Literally, wut. The movie explores something truly terrifying, being a black person literally any time in the united States. People saying that identifying anti-black racism and exploring that in art is anti-white racism are f#king morons or are truly deluded about the black experience. The real problem with the white establishment is that so many people are averse to respecting or even acknowledging the black struggle. They were slaves, then when they were freed we didn’t do anything to compensate and intentionally withheld quality education, withheld the 40 acres and a mule promised for fighting in the civil war, restricted voting rights and even today it’s clear that our institutions don’t value black lives. The fear that blacks live with is identified by Ta Nehisi-Coates as the fear of having your body taken from you by prison or a bullet, this fear is explored in get out masterfully. F#cking read a book once in a while

True to form, you display a stunningly simple-minded take on a smart, nuanced movie about race and politics. First off – and this the big one, in response to an argument constantly raised by angry sex-less comments-field trolls, and blonde pundits who look like aging barbie – “If the roles where reversed” is irrelevant!!!

SPELLED OUT CLEARLY FOR YOU DEBBIE: The group that has historically on the whole, within the last relevant time-span, been more disadvantaged, is allowed to satirize the advantaged groups in such ways that wouldn’t be tolerable in reverse! How is that such a complicated concept?!

If you’re the only person in a room who’s baby died last year, then you are the only one who gets to make dead-baby jokes (if that’s your thing). Simple right?

It’s also clear that systemic anything is a tricky concept for you, because it requires seeing patterns more intricate than those in your “seventh-Heaven”-inspired world view. But efforts to allay inherited systemic disparities are not the same as anti-white racism. Numerous countries that surpass us in numerous ways, all employ affirmative action.

Now go watch a Mel Gibson movie..

Gotta love the commenter who said, “I wasn’t racist, until after Obama’s eight years in office.” Really, dude??

Stupid jerk, you were ALWAYS a racist, stop using some stupid event or some weak bandwagon forum to show your true feelings.
