RAAAAAYCIST!: ABC’s Amy Robach, Colored People & People of Color

By Debbie Schlussel

*** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ***

peopleofcolorracist

People of Color, You RAAAAYCIST!

Is it just me, or is there no significant difference between the phrases “colored people” and “people of color”? Apparently, to stupid liberals the terms are incredibly different in level of grievance theater offense, even though they mean the exact same thing. Annoying ABC liberal Amy Robach learned the hard way.

In this age of phony “post-racialism”–in which racism seems to be more alive then ever (on the part of Blacks and their legion of liberal White enablers)–the eggshells we walk on seem to be ever thinner and more brittle. And you have to watch every little thing you say. Well, I don’t because I don’t care. But people who are in public positions and are employed by mainstream employers do. And it’s not just getting ridiculous. It’s way far beyond ridiculous. Even the most politically-correct liberals get the brunt of it, which goes to show that you just can never say anything right–can never say anything that won’t offend an ever-growing group of whiners in the professional victimization crowd.

Using the N-word is one thing, but saying, “colored people”? Um, how is that different from the “preferred” “people of color”? It isn’t. Not any more than saying “Jewish people” is different than saying “people of the Jewish faith (or ethnicity).” They are simply the same thing.

But since we live in a spoiled country, the whole of the internet came down on ABC’s “Good Morning America” co-hostess Amy Robach, who was delivering a “pop culture news report” (yeah, that’s how dumbed down we are–when a program has both a news report and a pop culture news report).

You see, Robach reported on minorities and colored people . . . er, PEOPLE OF COLOR! whining that they are mad that White people are playing them in movies and TV shows. And in delivering that old news, Robach mentioned that “colored people” are upset.

A ton of social media trolls attacked Robach as a RAAAAAYCIST! because she used that term. You are not allowed to use “colored people” anymore and must, instead, use the term “people of color,” Robach was lectured. Um, what the bleep is the difference? How is one more offensive than the other? Does the extra syllable and the extra word in “people of color” make colored people feel more important? The difference between the terms is minor and a distinction without a difference.

But you gotta learn this: people of color–perfectly fine and proper; colored people–a racist slur! Colored–RAAAAAAYCIST! Of Color–angels singing opera and opening the gates of Heaven to you for all eternity. Got it? Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson want to make sure (and make some bucks pimpin’ it, too).

Predictably, the spineless Robach apologized and apologized and promised that this is not how she speaks in private. She’s down wit da struggle, dammit! Hilarious. Whatta wimp.

Following a social media firestorm about her use of the phrase “colored people,” Good Morning America host Amy Robach issued an apology. “This morning during a segment about Hollywood casting, I mistakenly said ‘colored people’ instead of ‘people of color,’” said Robach . . . . “I sincerely apologize. It was a mistake and is not at all a reflection of how I feel or speak in my everyday life.”

“Colored people,” a label used during segregation, was replaced in the late 1960s by “black” and later by “African-American.” To some, “colored people” is the equivalent of a racial slur. Robach’s reference to “colored people” came during a segment about actress Zendaya potentially playing Mary Jane in an upcoming “Spider-Man” reboot. Mary Jane is a character traditionally filled by white actresses, and Zendaya is half black and half white.

“Now we all know Hollywood has received recent and quite a bit of criticism for casting white actors in what one might assume should be a role reserved for colored people,” Robach said. . . .

The outrage on social media was swift.

When you’re being shot up in a nightclub by a jihadist or can’t afford healthcare because the ObamaCare payments are too high, as well as the deductible, then you can be outraged. This “people of color” vs. “colored people” outrage is just baloney. It’s an IQ test, and those who were outraged–outraged!–failed.

From now on, I’m going to use the term “people of no brain”–rather than the clearly offensive and unacceptable “brainless people”–to describe all of the parties involved in this stupid story.

When you have a nation of morons concerned with whether someone uses “people of color” or “colored people,” don’t be surprised when these morons elect Hillary Rodham Cankles in droves in November. Oops, I mean, Hillary of Cankles (and of Payola at State and of E-mail Scandals and of Whitewater and of the Rose Law Firm and of Cattle Futures and of HillaryCare and . . . etc. etc. ad absurdum).

Again, we live in a very spoiled country. And we keep sinking to new bottomless lows.

America . . . what the bleep happened to us?!

*** UPDATE: While I was away at a movie screening, I was thinking that I should start calling the NAACP, either NAAPOC (National Association for the Advancement of People Of Color) or, even better, the NAARS (National Association for the Advancement of Racist Slurs). Turns out great minds think alike because reader/commenter Skunky (who is part People of Color) made a similar point about the NAACP.

Hilarious!

Nowadays everything is offensive. We might as well stop writing and speaking.

After all, no one knows any longer what people consider acceptable discourse.

What happened to Amy Robach is a sign even liberals have become prisoners of their own self-imposed political correctness.

And I’m not shedding tears for her. The people up in arms over this will likely make Hillary our next President.

We’re screwed in so many ways that we can’t recount them. We can’t say that either in polite company.

Screw polite company.

“And you have to watch every little thing you say. Well, I don’t because I don’t care.”

And that Debbie,is why you Rock! Rock on, Rock on!

“The difference between the terms is minor and a distinction without a difference.”

Now you’re just showing off, stop it, don’t confound their brains like that.

MrBigBrain on August 23, 2016 at 6:51 pm

People who are stupid used to be laughed at. Now stupid people are object of social pity.

The parties in the above story can’t be called stupid. They’re differently mentally abled.

Had Robach called them who they really are instead of being a typical liberal wimp and apologizing, we’d have made progress.

Hillary is where is she in the polls, thanks to droves of morons (another term to describe the stupid) for whom 8 years of Obama ain’t enough.

And the list of things that will offend stupid, oops, – differently mentally abled – people grows longer. Whatta country!

NormanF on August 23, 2016 at 7:08 pm

I love “People Of No Brain”! We have millions of them here in USA! I loved that you used the Red Foxx meme too. I bought that t-shirt for my Dad and he was half-Mexican & half-Black. It reminded me of him!

This country is so effing retarded. Let’s just elect Ryan Lochte for President. He’s a great representative of the stupidity that has engulfed this blessed nation.

Ask Amy Robach what the CP stands for in the NAACP?

I love when Libtards like her and Ellen get a direct hit in their Libtarded faces with their own Liberal petard. I don’t think either one is raaaaaaaaacist but they deserve to be stunned and raked over the coals by the Libtardedness they prop up.

I never use “African Americans”. How do I know if every Black person I see has ancestry from Africa? Plus, the silly played Blacks in America now would kiss American soil with dog doo on it if they had to actually live in REAL Africa today. They love Africa because they don’t know Africa. Africa is one wicked scary continent. If the Northern African Moooooooooooslims are not making it a living hell, other African Tribes are.

No wonder so many Black Americans waste their lives being tricked by White Libtards. If they demanded their power and Constitutional Rights back from the horrible LEFT they would love the country America could be again.

If you think Africa is swell, you are also being tricked by White Libtards. Congrats Black Americans! Because over 90% you will vote for Cankles Clinton the USA will keep on Canklin’ for the next 8 years! Yee-haw!

Keep on Canklin’ all y’all!

Skunky on August 23, 2016 at 8:49 pm

I got a kick out of that too Skunky. I would like to add “People Of No Brain, Who Fall For The Same BS Every Four Years.” Because that’s what happens. Call them out on their love for Hillary and Obama and you get the Ellen or Robach treatment. Major head scratcher. You and Debbie almost made me loose my lunch on your renaming the NAACP. Thank God for like minded great minds because you two especially make posting here a real joy.

This is why many of the greatest thinkers of the 19th Century, especially in Britain, were so wary and apprehensive about democracy.

It is too bad that these theorists and writers are now virtually forgotten and unstudied. Anyone who now writes a dissertation, or even an article about one of them has effectively ruined any chance for a successful academic career.

But we should not be too surprised when acceptable terminology is rewritten virtually from day to day; after all, history is now rewritten from day to day as well. Look at the Middle East. Terminology has become a prop of affirmative action, because basing it on substance will not work.

Live for the moment, think for the moment, learn for the moment, with continual updating and revision, regardless of substance, a substitute for actual acquisition of knowledge.

And the Internet, which, theoretically enables more opinions and more diverse thoughts to be expressed, has, like democracy, become a guardian of conformity.

There is a classic cartoon by Jules Feiffer that appeared in 1967 in New York’s The Village Voice that perfectly captured the essence of this political-correctness ring-around-the rosy. (And yes, political correctness is not a recent phenomenon.)

Feiffer’s cartoon featured drawings of 6 identical faces with the following captions:

1. As a matter of racial pride we want to be called blacks. 2. Which has replaced the term Afro-American.
3. Which replaced Negroes.
4. Which replaced colored people.
5. Which replaced darkies.
6. Which replaced blacks.

And just for good measure, I’ll throw in another description of a Feiffer cartoon on a different nomenclature issue that featured identical drawings of an “impoverished” person:

1. I used to think I was poor.
2. Then they told me I wasn’t poor, I was needy.
3. They told me it was self-defeating to think of myself as needy; I was deprived.
4. Then they told me underprivileged was overused.
5. I was disadvantaged.
6. I still don’t have a dime.
But I have a great vocabulary.

Ralph Adamo on August 24, 2016 at 3:12 am

I remember Jules Feiffer’s cartoons. They were great. I think I even remember the second one you mentioned, as in I read it back then kind of remembered it. Of course, I was only turning 11 in 1967, but I grew up when the sprouts of all the weeds that now engulf us were popping up.

This has been getting worse and worse every decade ( I would say let’s start out from the late sixties, which was the beginning). The saddest part is that it will never change in our lifetime which I guess is a good thing for leftist democrats and their “slaves” who still follow them like lemmings till this day.
We can go into a full dissertation as to why it won’t change going back generations but that’s not for here to discuss. Get used to it, particularly the politically correct, liberal, brain dead leftists and mostly white children of the sixties. You started it all. Now try to fix it… It’ll never happen!

Debbie,
The article points out how ridiculously inane the American people are. It’s as if there’s nothing to worry about in the country. As the Flintstones’s theme song used to sing, “…..we’ll have a gay old time.”

In physics, a color is visible light with a specific wavelength. Black and white are not colors because they do not have specific wavelengths. Instead, white light contains all wavelengths of visible light. Black, on the other hand, is the absence of visible light.
So should they be called “people of absence of visible light”?
Political correctness is insanity!!

As a CPOC (Conservative Person of Color) I have to laugh at this latest pc faux pas by a liberal twit moron. You see folks in order to get a better perspective on this latest foray into the stupid I had to consult my Aunt who is nearing 80 and has according to her seen it all. I asked her what is the difference between colored people and people of color. She told me not a G#$ d*&^ thing! She said growing up in WVA she was called far worst and that made me reflect on my own childhood in the state during the 70s and 80s. Back then it was just us Black folks and White people. Some were ok but others called me and mine far worst than “colored people” or “people of color.” I learned a long time ago to not get so easily offended by stupid terms when I know who the heck I am as a man and as an individual. This is why I’m not down with the pc crap and will call a spade a spade. Liberal twits like Robach have for years cultivated the stupid among us. She along with the rest of the liberal media prop up losers like Obama and Hillary and vilify people like Trump. For all liberal hand holding the minute they step over that line. They get it stuck to them via social media. That’s why Ellen got so much flack for her Usain Bolt tweet. The liberals created the Black Frankenstein pc monster and when he gets his bolts crossed they try and calm him down. The have to make sure that his program to vote for the Hilbag is sound for November. She is relying on that over 90% Black vote to put her rotund hide over the top. That is what is so pathetic about this whole thing. Blacks are still stuck on stupid and still get mad over the wrong things. Instead of getting mad about the lack of jobs, the broken families, welfare dependence, bad schools, high crime, and real racism. They get upset over some dumb libtard TV hackette saying colored people. These same people will still vote for the most corrupt, evil, money hungry person to run for president. That alone is enough to make this NPCBCCR (Non Politically Correct Black Christian Conservative Republican) throw up his hands and say Oy Vey!

Thorn on August 24, 2016 at 4:35 pm

I have created an antidote for the political correctness madness. It seems to me that the only way to effectively fight it is to fight fire with fire (or think of it as fighting fire with water, if that makes you feel better).

That is, the politically correct crowd must be compelled to use only the names “Whites” or “Caucasians” consider acceptable.

Obviously, by agreeing to be called “White” or “Caucasian,” people of that race have limited the names that may properly be applied to them. They should, instead, adopt a entirely NEW name and then FORCE the politically correct crowd to bend to that new name or be labeled a RACIST. Okay? Do you get the strategy?

Alright. Then, with that in mind, I hereby demand that all people of the politically correct crowd refer to me ONLY as a “person of all colors”–and NEVER “White” or “Caucasian” again. If they fail to comply, they must be labeled RACISTS.

How did I come up with “People of All Colors” to refer to my race? Simple, the color white is really ALL colors. That is, in fact, what white light actually is: all colors combined. So when you have one of those forms to fill out and they ask your race, if you’re White/Caucasian, don’t check that box, but insist on checking the “Other” category. And if they ask you to fill that in, write-in “People of All Colors.”

And, of course, People of All Colors may continue to refer to each other as they choose without threat of being racist. Remember, the politically correct crowd has a double-standard in place about that, so you too should apply that double standard, This a Person of All Colors, henceforth, may refer to another Person of All Colors as White if he/she chooses, but if a person of any any race attempt to do say, they must immediately be branded a RACIST.

Got it? Okay, then let’s get started. People of All Colors it is, until the Peoples of All Colors decide otherwise. And when we do, everyone else MUST fall in line or be labeled a Racist!

Ralph Adamo on August 24, 2016 at 6:22 pm

We still watch Amos and Andy TV Show. This was the funniest show every produced. The Kingfish was so funny as well as the rest of the cast. The NAACP protested this show and it was taken off the air. I watched the characters as funny actors and do not think anything negative as all the actors were black.

Fred on August 25, 2016 at 1:08 pm

There was a time when could laugh at this whole race thing, and I don’t think it’s a stretch at all to conclude that the comedians from the 1960s and 1970s have done more to improve race relations than the political correctness police ever have.

Here’s a clip of Don Rickles on a Dean Martin Roast of Red Foxx. The clip features many of the great talents of the day, including first rate comics like Red Foxx, Slappy White, LaWanda Page, George Kirby, and Nipsey Russell. And while Rickles does comic lines that today’s politically correct crowd would call “racist,” you can see and feel that all of these performing professionals have great respect and love for one another.

We have reached the point where “Identity Politics” has crawled into every nook and cranny of our lives. Setting up artificial minefields around phrases such as “Colored People” actually increases the level of racism. There are many activists and groups who would lose their livelihoods if racial tensions actually abated.

Worry on August 27, 2016 at 7:58 am

““Colored people,” a label used during segregation, was replaced in the late 1960s by “black” and later by “African-American.” To some, “colored people” ”

…and why then, is the race of an alleged father, on a pre-Civil Rights act from 1964 birth certificate, presented digitally for public consumption in the 21st Century annotated/denoted as “African-American”?

Race = Caucasoid, Negroid, and Mongoloid. (1960’s America- White, Negro, Oriental)

Saw an old interview with the comedian George Wallace. Therein he said, and I paraphrase; White people are the only “colored people,” they turn red when they are hot, blue when they are cold, turn green with envy, and grey when sick…everybody else only turns different shades of their normal color.

Off topic, sorta, still in the realm of madness though.
So these Hollywood goofballs have the ingenious idea of releasing a movie about Nat Turner. Nat Turner, really in this climate? How moronic can these dorks be? Another Slave movie, a Slave revolt movie, just to get the blood pumping, eh?
While they are at, go ahead make a film about Patrice Lumumba, Steve Biko, no don’t stop there, not enough anger, uh, Marcus Garvey,Toussaint Louverture, hey don’t forget to include Whites, make a movie about John Brown, can’t forget the other side, do a Biopic on Mike Metzger, come on guys, get em all riled up, fire, anger, remake Mississippi Burning, come on, by Fourth of July 2017, yeah, this country will be ripe, will ripe, to party. Woohoo.
Why in hell, would you begin the promotion and releasing of a movie about Nat Turner Now? Now? No one could ever convince me otherwise this is strategically planned.

All of the Left’s tempest-in-a-teapot haggling over word-meanings is, unfortunately, not as trivial as it seems. Unchecked, it creeps along, laying the groundwork for worse oppressions – including, worst of all, Sharia speech-restrictions:

Let the West Beware of Islamic Law and Creeping Censorship!
In 1903, Turkey Trashed Armenian Free Speech 12 Years Before the Genocide.

All of the forbidden words below were judged as Anti-Islamic, incendiary, extremely hurtful and offensive to the feelings of Muslims. Speaking or writing any of them was equal to incitement, subversion, a violent attack on the sensitivities of Muslims, a very serious infringement indeed, as punishable as drawing a cartoon of Mohamed is today, or crying “Fire!” in a crowded theater:

See http://sentinel.christianscience.com/issues/1903/2/5-25/items-of-interest

Finding it inconvenient, in the face of the sentiment of Christian Powers, to destroy the national spirit of the Armenians by force, the Turkish government undertakes to coerce it by putting Armenian school textbooks and press under strict censorship. Such words as the following have been interdicted: “Star”, because its Turkish translation means Yeldiz, which is the name of the Sultan’s palace; “astronomy”, because of its relation to the word “star”; the chemical symbol of water, “H2O”, because this might be construed into H (Hamid), 2 (second), and O (cipher),—that is, Hamid Second is nothing [in other words, someone might interpret the chemical symbol, H20, as an insult to the Caliph of the Ottoman Empire, Hamid the Second]; the word “Armenia”, so that the American missionaries who had founded a college in Armenia by the name of “Armenian College” were obliged to change its name into “Euphrates College;” and the words “liberty”, “freedom”, “home”, “nation”, “sacrifice”, “thistle”, “obstacle”, “stumbling”, “hope”, “faith”, “emancipation”, “Lincoln”, “struggle”, “right”, “tyranny”. No verses are to be published in the daily papers; the Boers are not to be sympathized with; Americans never praised; Germany never criticized, and Russia never mentioned.

As for Debbie, everything from a busy schedule to severe migraines can keep her away. Hope it’s the busy schedule.

No movie reviews lately either, though considering all the crap coming out of Hollywood, no big deal.

Bill Maher and Chris Rock are nothing but a couple of crybabies in that case, because they both helped, especially Maher, contribute IMMENSELY, to the current cultural atmosphere.

I’m beginning to despise Bill Maher almost as much as I despise The Great StainMaker and The Dragon Lady. Maher is an ugly gnome of a man who looks like something out of a scary children’s book. And the hypocrisy drips out of his pores the way blood drips from the ceiling below an unknown room in an episode of SVU.

Erased Us Jonzz, don’t forget to pick up a copy of Debbie’s bio, and a free box of Rainbow Coalition Oreo cookies, with the multicolored, errrrr—–, the color of multi icing between the pink side cookie and the green side one, . . .

on your way off the web site.

Wanna see what this troll does next? I may not be able to stay up for it, but I’ll tell you tomorrow I predicted it. And I’ll be right.

Bill Maher is horrible person. I’ve been watching his show recently, had not ever seen an episode until about 2 months ago. He’s wacked. A true nut job. Nasty, rude, not funny. Know it all, pompous. Not exceptionally bright. Laughs at himself to garner laughter. Nah, he’s a dud.
