Sean Vannity’s Friend, Pat Buchanan: “But Hitler Only Wanted Peace”

By Debbie Schlussel

**** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ****

As long as you continue to read the site and patronize the shows that run this neo-Nazi’s anti-Semitic, pro-Hitler columns, you are part of the problem, not the solution.

Yes, in “remembrance” of the 70th anniversary of the start of World War II, Pat Buchanan once again plays the part that Goebbels and Riefenstahl (long ago wormfood) can no longer play:  chief PR agent for Adolf Hitler.

patbuchanan.jpgseanhannityfreedom.jpg

They Look Great in Brown

In his column, this week–“Did Hitler Want War?”–America’s most famous neo-Nazi tells us that Hitler only wanted peace.  Apparently it’s Poland’s and Great Britain’s fault that World War II happened.  And, you know, Hitler–who “wanted to end the war in 1940”–was “forced” into it.  I suppose he was forced into turning on the ovens and showers of Auschwitz and Bergen Belsen and Lodz and Treblinka and Majdanek and Gross Rosen, too.  You know, he only wanted peace.

Ask yourself why Sean Hannity and others, whom you think are not extremists, continue to promote America’s neo-Nazi-in-Chief and give him a loud voice when he’s long past jumped the shark.  Why do they lend legitimacy to Hitler revisionism from a draft-dodging anti-Semite?  In Vannity’s case, he’s never uttered a word of disagreement because it appears–based on his decade-long relationship with neo-Nazi Hal Turner–that he agrees with Buchanan.

Ask yourself why not a single prominent conservative will denounce Buchanan’s Hitler Trutherism and obvious anti-Semitism.  You know, the same crowd that loves to cry “anti-Semitism” about the left but looks consistently the other way about anti-Semitism on the right (on Robert Novak, on Henry Hyde, on Darrell Issa, on the Sam Adams Alliance).

I am not linking to the column.  If you must read fiction, I recommend something more plausible and entertaining. Buchanan’s is just neo-SS Gestapo hackery.

**** UPDATE: My friend, Joel, shows the lie in Pat Goebbels Buchanan’s claims.

If Hitler wanted peace in 1940, why did he abrogate his own treaty and invade Russia a year later, resulting in countless (literally) millions of deaths, many of them so grotesque that Stalin himself urged that the two sides abide by the Hague Convention?

This is the voice of the conservative party. Our party was taken over by the Reich wing, the same assholes who had business dealings with Adolph Hitler like their Nazi-In-Chief: Prescott Bush (Skull and Bones)and the the fucking Christian Church. I hate all religions (and for those who know me, know my rant, but I love Jews, because, when the Japanese Americans were placed into concentration camps in the U.S., the Jews in Europe welcomed my people with open arms,) because of the goddamn hypocrisy: http://nobeliefs.com/nazis.htm . So fellow Conservatives, take back our parties from the assholes above.

The Pali named Hussein was the one who told Hitler to gass all of the Jews and old, sick, no-good Germans who professed christianity. Hussein was the Muslims leader who suggested a means to get rid of the Jewish Marxists. Many Jewish marxist supported Nazi and like Sorros helped find the Jews who were religious. He admitted it. Ford was anti Jewish and Harvard also. Now Harvard is an Islamomarxist university. Non-Muslims are not allowed to swim with holy pedophile worshippers.

Hitler wanted the Saturday people first & the Sunday people second. He would have made a good muzzie. There is NO OTHER spin.

I am still waiting to hear the truth about Vannity’s freedom tour…

goldenmike4393 on September 3, 2009 at 1:07 pm

Have any of you seen Vannity on his TV show recently? He has more make up on him than a cheap hooker or Tammy Fay Bakker. He looks ridiculously funny! His show has become a comedy, I sometimes flip to the Fox channel for a few seconds when he is on to see if he has more make up on than the women, and for the vast majority of the time, Vannity wins the contest. What a tool. Could he be the poster boy for the metrosexual girly-men?

Jarhead on September 3, 2009 at 1:27 pm

The column is pure fiction. The Germans had advanced technology, a strategy and will. They would have conquered the world if they hadn’t been stopped at Stalingrad. The insistence Hitler wanted peace is feverish ranting on Buchanan’s part – no evidence exists for it and history documented exactly the opposite. Had the Nazis won, neither Debbie nor I would be around to refute Buchanan’s pro-Nazi propaganda.

NormanF on September 3, 2009 at 1:31 pm

Pat Buchanan is the left’s conservative. As demonstrated in his two presidential runs, he represents little more than a fringe of a fringe in politics. It is time for outfits like Regnery to stop publishing his screeds. Conservatives who continue to associate with Pat Buchanan after all of his recent statements, articles, and books, make themselves appear questionable, if not suspect.

Does it still count if you Tivo it, fast forward the commercials and then fast forward everytime he talks (since he just repeats himself constantly). That makes it a 15 minute show – tops.

sandy on September 3, 2009 at 1:37 pm

If Britain and France are to be blamed for anything, it’s being so woefully unprepared for war while Germany illegally re-armed. They already knew Germany’s aggressive tendencies having just fought a catastrophic war with them a mere two decades before so there was absolutely no excuse.

tempus fugit on September 3, 2009 at 1:42 pm

Pat Buchanan does not mention in his column German rearmament in the 1930s, the Anschluss with Austria, the German-Soviet Pact and the German attack on the West in 1940 despite the fact neither Britain nor France posed any conceivable threat to Germany. The current that runs through the above signposts is Hitler prepared for war, the West failed to stand up to him, he was cynical enough to cut a deal with the Soviets to make war a reality and far from making peace with the West in 1940, Hitler deliberately attacked it. In truth, Hitler was not “forced” into a fight over Danzig. The German attack on Poland came only after he rebuffed all Western attempts to get the Germans to compromise and after he made sure in his deal with Stalin that he didn’t have to fear a two-front war. Buchanan never addresses the above events because they refute his contention Hitler wanted peace in 1940. In March 1939, it was clear after the Germans tore up the Munich agreement and swallowed what was left of the Czech state, even to the arch-appeaser Neville Chamberlain, that a European war was only a matter of time. It was not the democracies that sought war. It was Nazi Germany that instigated it and kept it going right up to its defeat in 1945.

NormanF on September 3, 2009 at 2:38 pm

This may be a bit of a stretch but not much.
If you are in power in the liberal party you can pretty much get away with murder, as evidenced by the recently deceased Kennedy, among other examples of outright criminality by the liberal elite. Tax avoidence is rampant as recent events indicate. Charley Rangel owes a large amount of unpaid taxes
as well as his staff that apparently are not being persued by the IRS the dept they supervise. Certainly the lib party is not bothered by his neglect or any of the other elected libs that “overlooked” their taxes.
Yet the president of Whole Foods, a far left liberal supporter, is castigated by the same party that he supports philosophically as well as monetarily for merely suggesting he has a better idea for a health plan.
The Republicans, yes conservatives as well, seem to go the libs one better. If you express the proper conservative or Republican values, whether you are a powerful elected offical or not, you are not looked at with suspicion even if you are anti-semetic. There is something about influence that says support a politician or potential politician, see Hannity, that allows you to get away, as despictable as it is, a bias against Israel. It makes me ashamed, at times, to profess I am a conservative.

Rollie Robinson on September 3, 2009 at 2:53 pm

I do understand politics is about expediency but if you have to embrace folks like Buchanan, then its too expedient for my tastes. Conservatives decry Trutherism and lunacy on the Left but seem far too comfortable with it in their own ranks.

NormanF on September 3, 2009 at 3:12 pm

I am with you entirely on this one Debbie. Buchanan and his ilk are a disgrace to the Conservatives. If England and America had not declared war on Nazi Germany it would have been a death sentence for the Soviet Union et al. Buchanan’s book should be retitled: Another Way Hitler Could Have Won the
War”. Which is a spinoff of the Anthony Beevor book. Hitler’s casus belli were autarky and lebensraum. If Russia had voluntarily given the Nazis all of their “satellites” Poland,Ukraine, the Baltic states it would have amounted to over 500,000 square miles which would have satisfied his goals.
But, he still would have attacked the “untermensch” as he called the Slavs. Hitler was a hater that could not be placted or appeased.

Lance Whitmore on September 3, 2009 at 3:58 pm

Buchanan is at least consistent, in that he opposed America fighting the Nazis, and opposes fighting against the modern day Muslim Nazis today.

The far right, e.g. Buchanan, Novak, Ron Paul insist on believing that America, England and the Jews were at fault for provoking Hitler. Just as they believe they’re at fault now for provoking Muslims. Just as they believe Georgia is at fault today for provoking Russia.

They’re cowards and appeasers. The only time they supported fighting was against Communism, but they clearly feel more solidarity with the Nazis and the Islamists, than with other Americans.

Sultan Knish on September 3, 2009 at 4:25 pm

Vanity seems to be like Arnold Schwarzenegger, they both want to be liked rather than respected. They like to be admired and be popular at the cost of their dignity. They have no shame. Vanity should hang it up. They get people to follow an assumed set of beliefs in conservatism then offer them something else when they have arrived at their destination. That is fraud. Where is Vanity’s honor and dignity. Debbie left this fraud years ago. I used to listen to Vanity and because of this site have quit listening to him. His show was better with Alan Colmes.
At least it kept him somewhat honest. Now the dude is all over the place with guests who have no idea about conservatism and he is about trying to be liked. He has a cash cow and is milking it. Maybe Alan Colmes would have been brave enough to confront Vanity and Buchannen about the insanity of this article. I read the article and it is all an excuse for Hitler. Since Buchannen is getting older maybe he feels now he can let it all out since he is going out the door.

CaliforniaScreaming on September 3, 2009 at 5:04 pm

Sultan Knish, your assessment is spot-on. For a number of conservatives, the only evil in the world worth fighting was Communism. They refuse to accept that just because one form of evil is no longer a threat does not mean other evils take its place that just as lethal and far more dangerous. That’s the case with Islamism today and there’s a blind spot about that which exists on parts of the Right as well as on the Left. An unwillingness to face reality will get us all killed. Had Buchanan’s advice been followed during World War II, democracy would have disappeared from the earth. That is why the history lesson he purports to teach us should be dismissed – America has enough enemies to fight abroad without having to contend with those at home who would make their task much easier. We need to recognize we are at war but so far we appear to lack the will to win it.

NormanF on September 3, 2009 at 5:33 pm

Michael Savage USED to have him on although he did say when callers called him that he did not agree with his views on Israel. However, after he wrote this book the unneccesary war in which he defending Germany which he said was absurd he said he wouldn’t have him on the show again which since this book came out he hasn’t had him on the show and when mention Buchanan calls MSNBC MSSNBC.

And, anyway, NAZI stands for national socialism so how could anyway REALLY BE A CONSERVATIVE and support the Nazi’s. At the end of the day the so called extreme right and extreme left are usually one and the same.

adam on September 3, 2009 at 6:18 pm

There was a joke when pat was running for President that he actually had a relative who was killed in a Nazi concentration camp.

Really.

It appears the relative fell out of a guard tower.

lol1 on September 3, 2009 at 6:27 pm

You can go to sight like Lucianne and find thinly veiled anti-Semitic remarks all the time. One of these idiots blames the rise of Hitler to the Warburgs. I rather align with the Orianna Fallaci than those religious nutcakes or an asshole like Chris Hitchens.

madman on September 3, 2009 at 6:46 pm

“And, anyway, NAZI stands for national socialism so how could anyway REALLY BE A CONSERVATIVE and support the Nazi’s. At the end of the day the so called extreme right and extreme left are usually one and the same.”

The NAZI use of the world socialism is equivalent to various communist regimes calling themselves Democratic. (e.g. Democratic People Republic of Korea a.k.a. North Korea). The NAZI did not believe in nationalizing big industries. Universal Healthcare was brought in Bismarck who was a traditional conservative monarchist.

The Krupps and IG Farben were not nationalize but Jewish businesses were stolen.

Deb, love when you kick
Vannity’s and Bat Puke-anan’s
asses.

demonneant on September 3, 2009 at 8:54 pm

Pat’s book was better in the original German! This man is sick – his career should have ended years ago when he was defending Demjanjuk and claming that people could not have been gassed because some wackjob did an experiment with carbon monoxide in the garage and it did not work! He engaged in character assassination on the victims of the Holocaust. He is a Father Coughlin type who drank his anti-Semitism with his mother’s milk. You know that this guy blames the Jews for the Crucifixion and then denies the Holocaust, effectively giving the Jews a one two hatred punch. I wish his career would end and he would be kicked off Townhall.

JulieJ. on September 3, 2009 at 9:39 pm

Does anyone know how many times Buchanan has cited Mein Kampf in his writings? Is it on his required reading list?

Jarhead on September 3, 2009 at 9:56 pm

JulieJ, its best not to give his views publicity – which is the reason Debbie didn’t link to his column. All one needs to do is point out its errant nonsense without any substance behind it.

NormanF on September 3, 2009 at 10:21 pm

He is only fit for Stormfront and IHR.

sorrow01 on September 4, 2009 at 12:34 am

Hitler, may his name be erased, DID want to end the war in 1940. He wanted the British to hand their country over to him, and that’s what plenty of British pacifists wanted Churchill, who, White Paper or no White Paper, was a great man and refused to surrender, to do. British pacifists despised Churchill.

Miranda Rose Smith on September 4, 2009 at 1:55 am

My first comment on this side. I am a german, my grandparents lived through the Hitler years, and i know my history.

First, the Nazis were not conservative. They were bent on destroying family and religion. Heck, they had breeding camps for blonde people. The german conservatives even of that time despised the Nazis, they knew the Nazis were barbarians. Yet they made the pact with the devil because they had the goal of restoring Germany to the superpower status it held before WW 1 and thought they could somehow control Hitler. The Nazi party never had a majority of votes in germany! Thats the tragedy of the german conservatives of that time.

Second, Hitler wanted the war. His often stated goal was to conquer eastern europe, enslave the slavic people and kill the jews. He wanted the war in ´38 but did not get it because the allies pracically handed over the Chzech republic on a silver platter. While the german army generals had plans for a coup in ´38 they followed through in ´39 because of the immense popularity Hitler had gained from the Munich agreement, and because of the army tradition of unquestioning loyalty.

Pat Buchanan: he should rot in hell with all his ilk. Thanks, Debbie. Never give up.

This is one far-right conservative who doesn’t regard Pat
Buchanan as a real conservative. He is MSNBC’s “conservative”
and he doesn’t taint the movement because he’s a nut. Hitler
was not conservative, he was a national socialist, a fascist.
The German conservatives were not supportive of him, but like
most in Germany did not know how to oppose him.

Pat’s anti-Semitism is evident and despicable, his selective
revision of history is laughable. It’s amazing for him to have such a viewpoint that Hitler wanted peace.

I don’t know so much about Sean, I don’t watch him much and
so I haven’t connected anything he has said to make him a
Jew hater, but with Pat it’s pretty obvious.

D: Sean Vannity repeatedly has Pat Buchanan on his show and repeatedly promotes him, as well as his Hitler book. He clearly tolerates and supports Buchanan’s anti-Semitism. WAKE. UP. DS

Daniel on September 4, 2009 at 10:59 am

The real question is how aggressive would the world been interested in eradicating Hitler if he wasn’t such a threat to the Communist movement?

dirtyleb on September 4, 2009 at 11:07 am

BTW,

The best movie I have seen regarding WW2 was Europa Europa, the funniest scene is after Hilter was beaten the Russian started to collect the Jews and there was a man screaming he was Armenian, not Jewish and tried to pulling down his pants to show he wasn’t.

Good article, exposing these people for what they are. How about Orielly giving Sharpton, perfesr hill notoriety?

http://www.ednews.org/articles/why-wasnt-hitler-stopped.html

There was only one option that was apparently unacceptable to Hitler: permanent peace.
[Arafat anyone? Ham’ass, etc.]

A veteran of World War I who had seen the tattered bodies of his fellow soldiers lying in the trenches, and who had been the victim of a poison gas attack himself, Hitler never recovered from the defeat. A proponent of social Darwinism, he defined politics as the “conduct and process of the historical struggle for the life of nations.” Without war, there was stagnation, and stagnation, Hitler believed, was tantamount to ruin. “Long live war — even if it lasts from two to eight years,” he proclaimed. A man who was so regaled by death and doom was incapable of promoting peace.
[This brings visions of Farfur (script costume mouse killed by Jews as propaganda) and all the other youth programing the children in Gaza and i$lamistology nations watch. You too? It’s not like muslims add anything to science, innovation, technology, etc. so they only see their self worth or cultural relevance in their revisionist history, no? Therefore, force is all they export.]

“I have never really endured such fear … If the French had been truly serious, it would have been the greatest possible political defeat for me,” Hitler later told a confidant.
[Obama and all the self interested only think of political appeasement with enemies (Iran). Not until we have a politician speaking openly of political defeat of our enemies (Reagan), will we be safe and Israel shake the yolk of two-state suicide. Also, the 300 burning cars every weekend by French ‘youths’ (muslims) still doesn’t cover up the yellow streak down their back all these many years later.]

A Triumph for Hitler
Instead of the failure he feared, it was a triumph for Hitler — and what a triumph it was. The Germans celebrated their Führer like a messiah. In a new Reichstag election on March 29, 1936, which was only moderately manipulated, close to 99 percent of the electorate voted for the Nazi Party. Even Goebbels was surprised.
[Who else recently has been likened to a messiah?]

On March 11, the Nazis finally brought down the Austrian chancellor. That afternoon, after being bombarded by Hermann Göring with repeated threats of war in several telephone conversations, Schuschnigg resigned. The Wehrmacht marched into Austria the next day, without a single shot being fired.

It was the result of gangster tactics, and yet the people applauded.
[Chicago style politics. Fishy enough for flag@whiteho.gov?]

When Hitler crossed the border near his hometown of Braunau at about 4 p.m., the jubilant crowd was so thick that his motorcade was almost brought to a standstill. The masses on both sides of the street could hardly be subdued, as they shouted ecstatically “Heil Hitler” and “one people, one Reich, one Führer.”
[Yes we can! Scapegoat those who oppose Obamaland.]

FeFe on September 5, 2009 at 2:00 am

I won’t post a link to Mein Kampf, but Hitler’s aggressive intent was hardly disguised. Pax Romana (Roman Peace) refers to the state of peace achievable after Roman imperial military force beat down all opponents of colonialism; and force was used to maintain the colonies. Hitler wanted – and partly achieved – the same thing. And we was far from respectful of neighboring states.

However, while we quibble over Iraq and Afghanistan, a mini-Axis is forming in Latin America. Castro-Chavez have added Ecuador and Bolivia to same, and Obama is working for the reinstallation of a wannabe dictator for life, while Obama preps abandonment of Columbia.

And this NYC lawyer-bitch (“Venezuela’s Sweetheart”) is aiding and abetting the enemy:

Adolf Hitler the devil people never knew.According to history Hitler shot himself, some said he drank poison and died,if all these speculations i must say are true where is the body? From my understanding i have come up with a solution to this puzzling and hypothetical question.Adolf Hitler was the devil himself who came to the world in human disguise believing that he would achieve his goal through physical appearance.Hitler went back to hell when he found out he could not conquer the world. He simply disappeared.I still don’t beleive that we have not been able to look in to this and find out the truth.
