Kelly Ripa Said WHAT?! Clueless, Tone-Deaf Obama-Lovin’ Brat
Is it just me . . . or are you tired of hearing about insensitive, fabulously-rich Kelly Ripa and her unprofessional whining and feuding, while millions of Americans are out of work and/or struggling to pay ObamaCare? And did you hear what she said? Somebody needs to tell her to STFU and do her cushy job.
Yesterday morning, the media was focused on the most important issue facing Western culture: what “Live With Kelly & Michael” host Kelly Ripa was going to say in her on-air whining rant. And, typical of the limousine-liberal elitist hostess, she delivered a Marie-Antoinette-worthy lecture about how she deserves “respect in the workplace.” Respect in the workplace???!!! Really?! Talk about tone deaf.
Ripa was upset that co-host Michael Strahan was moved by parent company Disney from her show to ABC’s “Good Morning America” full-time and that she didn’t get to know about the decision ahead of time. So what?
While millions of Americans have lost their jobs to illegal aliens and H1-B visa-holders or just plain can’t get a job in the Obamaconomy, Ripa makes $15 million per year, which reports say comes down to $36,500 per hour. I’d say that’s a heckuva lotta “respect in the workplace” for barely lifting a finger. And that’s in addition to the tens of millions per year that she reportedly earns as a spokeschick for Electrolux appliances, Colgate Total, and other products–all of it by virtue of being the hostess of “Live.” While millions of Americans have lost their homes and can’t even make rent on apartments (and struggle to make ObamaCare payments), Ripa lives in a multi-million dollar Manhattan townhouse. And, when she’s not living there, she and her former-stripper husband, Mark Consuelos, live in a multi-million-dollar mansion on the Hamptons.
And this woman who is lucky beyond her wildest dreams and her very scant qualifications is whining about “respect in the workplace”? Is she serious?
On top of all this, it was hilarious to hear Ripa invoke her “bus-driver father” (who was actually a liberal union boss and is now a liberal Democrat official) in lecturing America about how she’s opened “a dialogue [about] respect in the workplace.” Uh, sorry, Kelly, but working a few hours a week (she is at the studio maybe two hours a day and three on Thursday–she doesn’t work on Fridays) is hardly driving a bus. You are not a blue-collar laborer making minimum wage. Or, to paraphrase something a liberal friend of mine once wrote about Michael Moore, “your blue-collar bonhomie is bunk.” Excuuuuuuse me for not buyin’ her phony Norma Rae/Walter P. Reuther act.
Proud high school grad Ripa’s experience that gets her the 15 mill includes a stint as a goth chick on ABC soap opera “All My Children.” And before that, she was in 1-900 phone sex commercials that ran on USA Network (the ads ran when I was in college, studying and trying to make my life better through education).
This woman hit the lottery and should thank her lucky stars. She’s lucky to have a job. “Live With Kelly & Michael” has reportedly lost 50 percent of its audience over the previous year. And parent company Disney has been toying for years with dumping the show and replacing it with a third hour of ABC’s “Good Morning America,” to compete with NBC’s third hour of the “Today” show.
Those of us who have worked for others have all had co-workers who received promotions or lateral moves. And we don’t get a secret heads up from the boss. Nor do we have the right to one. Ripa, just because she’s a celebrity and a multi-millionaire, doesn’t deserve better treatment than us “little people” who don’t summer in the Hamptons and have a full-time facial and skin care staff. ABC and Disney owe her nothing. And yet, she failed to show up for work for several days as part of her immature, unprofessional reaction.
Ripa’s spoiled-brat, poor little rich girl behavior is disgusting. Tacky and gauche. And insensitive to everybody else.

@DebbieSchlussel Then takes "days off" when she doesn't get her way. Typical Lib whining. They've been talking about equity since the '50s

If its equality, why won't she do dangerous, back-breaking work @ half the pay men do?

@lyculram Who cares? Americans are struggling to survive and pay the bills. She should STFU & DO. HER. JOB . They didn't have to tell her
— Debbie Schlussel (@DebbieSchlussel) April 26, 2016
@art2heal No she didn't. Employers have no obligation to inform employees ahead of promotions and moves

So excuse me if I laugh at the whiny Veruca Salt who bitches about “workplace respect.” Americans who used to do backbreaking work to make a buck but were replaced by foreign nationals; White males who are regularly discriminated against and must suffer indignities because they aren’t the preferred “minority”; tens of millions of Americans who’ve lost full-time work because of ObamaCare (Ripa is an Obama fan and supporter) and/or who are struggling to pay ObamaCare premiums–these are the Americans who deserve but haven’t gotten respect in the workplace.
Not some overrated, botoxified, glorified lottery winner who whines that she doesn’t get “respect” for her lucky windfall because she wasn’t privy to some information about a colleague’s promotion.
There’s a reason the overrated Strahan was promoted to full-time hosting and an eight-figure salary at “Good Morning America” and that Ripa wasn’t. GMA has lost half of its 18-34-year-old audience over the last year, and ABC thinks Strahan will help restore the audience. He won’t in my view and he’s a terrible interviewer, host, and “reporter”–the affirmative action emperor wears no clothing. But Strahan is popular in the hip-hop, minority-driven world with which all media is now obsessed. Kelly Ripa isn’t. And she isn’t even so popular anymore with her own audience of retirees and stay-at-home welfare queens who watch daytime TV–that’s why she’s lost half her audience.
Unfortunately, there is no justice for Kelly Ripa in this world. Despite her profligate spending, when Kelly Ripa loses her job (and she will soon–I predict “Live” won’t be on the air in five years), she’ll still presumably have some money left from her show and all her endorsement deals.
And she still won’t have a clue about what “respect in the workplace” means and the Americans who really deserve it . . . none of whom include her.

Like Chicago-based Oprah, “Live” was originally derived from a local TV show on an ABC-owned station (in this case, in New York City) which had been seeking to dethrone Phil Donahue from his perch as Number One morning talk show in his time slot (as he had been in NYC, on WNBC-TV, from 1977 to 1985). In the case of what started out as “The Morning Show” (WABC-TV’s third attempt, after the failed 1970-80 “A.M. New York” and the 1980-83 “Good Morning New York”), it took two years after its 1983 debut – and only after who is known today as Kathie Lee Gifford (who’s now yukking it up with Hoda Kotb weekdays on the late-morning edition of “Today” on NBC) joined the once-ubiquitous and everywhere-you-turn Regis Philbin as his sidekick – to relegate Donahue to #2.
I presume Mr. Philbin (whatever one may think of him) is glad he got out of “Live” when he did, given Ms. Ripa’s recent behavior and statements.
