Prince Called Islam “Cool,” Praised Forcing Women to Wear Burqas – Schlussel FLASHBACK

By Debbie Schlussel

islamiccrescent.jpg

Prince: Islam is Fun, Burqas are Happy Wear!

Yesterday, I reported that Prince never played a single concert in Israel. Well, the fact that he was in love with Islam and played a lot of Muslim nations might have something to do with it.

You gotta admit that it’s funny and beyond ironic (and hypocritical) that the most self-pornified performance artists always seem to be the ones in love with repressive Islam (where porn is publicly condemned and women must cover up from head to toe, lest their toenails turn some Muslim guy on and cause him to rape them).

And Prince Rogers Nelson a/k/a the Artist Currently Known as Dead was one of those Islamopanderers. This probably explains his boycott of Israel.

I’d forgotten about this, but reader JeffE reminded me that, back in 2011, I wrote about Prince’s publicly expressed admiration for Muslim countries and Islam-mandated garb of oppression and hate for women. Prince said in an interview that it’s “fun” being in Islamic countries because people have no rights and no choice, so there is “order.” Uh-huh, ISIS is order, right? Beheading is “order.” He said it’s great that women have no choice and are forced to wear a burqa (hmmm . . . the women on his concert stage were “forced” to wear lingerie–did he try that in the “fun” Islamic countries he visited?). He also said that people who complain about Islam or women who complain about the burqa are whiners and that “there’s a dark side to everything,” so just deal with it.

I guess it’s time for a “Raspberry Niqab” [full-Ninja Islamic face veil) for Darling Nikki.

I cannot improve upon my 2011 column on this–which I think was very sharp and rightfully caustic–so I urge you to read it. This guy was more nuts and clueless than I remembered earlier today. Thanks again, JeffE.

Read the whole thing.

It is good that you brought this up. With the Wall to Wall coverage of Prince going on, there is little reality about the man being presented.

Also, apart from a stage act, Prince’s transgendered persona would not go over well with Muslims. He would be subject to random beatings and police harassment at best.

Deb, cant wait for your article on al-lohan converting to Islam!

Pious modesty…

BWAAAAAAHAHHAHAAAHHAAAAHAHAAAAHAHHHHHHHH!!!

When I get a chance, I’m going to read Debbie’s original column on him. I knew there were more than a few reasons I disliked this guy so much. Hope I don’t bust out laughing on the chiropractor’s table later. Something else might bust if I laughed at the wrong time, LOL!!!

Any one loves those things about Islam hates Jews, period.

Its kind of ironic Prince boycotted the one country in the Middle East where his kinda debauched art was allowed.

Can you also say hypocrite? Prince didn’t care about our freedoms when he toured countries that hate us and who would blow us up without hesitation.

Note that he died peacefully – given what he represented, he would have been the first beheaded by ISIS despite his love for all things Islam.

So glad you found that DS. I know people get caught up in the nostalgia of the 80’s (I don’t blame them…I am that way RE: the 70’s…) but I don’t because I didn’t like that decade (but for my love of punk rock and going against the grain) and I always saw Prince as a pervert and not a nice person. I judged people like that, who were egotistical and mean. It’s why I never liked Madonna. I liked some of her 90’s stuff (the 40’s inspired “Dick Tracy” soundtrack) but most of the 80’s stuff was not-worthy hype by the status quo. I didn’t follow them. Never wanted to, never will.

Again, I think his “musical genius” is myna-birding crap. Didn’t hear it, didn’t see it. I was not a fan of Michael Jackson (I was as a wee kid in the 70’s and I still LOVE “Off The Wall”!!) but now when I hear the CD “Thriller” I can hear what people responded to. I didn’t in the 80’s…I hated the super-popular then. I can feel and hear it with Wacko Jacko but NEVER weirdo Prince.

And I hafta say…I am beyond nauseated at all the Bandwagon Riders who are instantly obsessed with deadsy Prince. I wanna projectile vomit it disgusts me so much. That nutter Prince released many CDs the last few years…you never even heard of them. People didn’t care. Some genius. If you loved his stupid music, his “genius” was still there but people didn’t care…just as they didn’t care about Michael Jackson in the April before he carked it when he announced his last tour…then he died and EVERYONE and their grandma-mas acted like the numero uno fan. People are so disgusting! A lot of frauds and poseurs. Eff them all! I wonder if we will see an onslaught of Prince t-shirts like we did with Michael Jackson t-shirts after he died? Oh, I will not be able to digest food for weeks!!!

If you were a big Prince fan, you were a big pervert. I have always believed that. I wanna state right here and right now, if we lose Chuck Berry and/or Sly Stone I wanna be seen as a REAL fan…not a coat-tail rider like all the freaky phonies out there crying purple tears over a mean, weirdo purple fop. Get stuffed, y’all. I have to endure this crap for days now…

Ok Debbie you owe me a new keyboard and monitor because I just got raspberry tea all them from laughing so hard. The Artist Currently Known as Dead now that’s priceless. Unlike certain conservative talk show hosts I’ll let you know if I use that in any other posts online…LOL. Seriously like my other post I said that this sleezoid gave a pass to dirt bag countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran while hitting Israel over the head. What a moron. Just like these other celebrity morons it’s turning out that Prince died of a drug overdose. Now what other entertainer in his 50s does this remind you of. Yeah Prince Islam is cool. Right up there with Hell, tornados, C-4 vests and the movie Graffiti Bridge. Like I said what a moron and as with the death of Michael Jackson expect his death to be in the news until he’s buried.

Ken B on April 22, 2016 at 1:21 pm

Maurice White was ten times at least the person and musician Prince was, but virtually no mention of him in the press or media when he died as compared with the fawning over Prince.

LA: Amen to that times 1,000. The non-stop Prince gush train is disgusting. People need to wake up. Maurice White (who founded Earth Wind & Fire) was as talented as Prince if not more, but unlike Prince, he was a mensch. DS

Whenever I read Skunky, all I can do is nod my head while reading, and then . . .

go back and read it again. Maybe Skunky and Debbie have a girls only crime fighting club they’re not telling anyone about.

Debbie and Skunky, in black masks, skin tight outfits, super powers.

Hey, I just smoked half a joint and had a strong Belgian style ale. I can dream, right?

Anyway, good to see Skunky regular again, and continuing to pour vintage wit out of the barrel that is her mind.

Alfredo from Puerto Rico on April 22, 2016 at 3:00 pm

Learned of his death as I walked into a Wendy’s and it was plastered all over CNN, as if the World had come to an end. I ordered, got and ate my meal. 30 minutes later, CNN had the same graphic on the screen and was, I guess, still crying over his demise. I cannot recall the melody of any of his songs. Admittedly, I tuned out in the 80’s and 90’s, but I know he was quite popular. But the ghoulish slobbering over dead rock stars is eerie, at best.

JeffT on April 22, 2016 at 3:59 pm

Reaching!

Also he was no perv, just a sexual entertainer, name a scandal he was involved in his approx 40yr career? Just one? Ah the sound of silence.

MrBigBrain on April 22, 2016 at 4:19 pm

On the plus side of all this, a carefully done autopsy of Prince’ body has just revealed “no obvious signs of trauma” and suicide is not suspected. Of course there was no need to perform an autopsy in the case of Antonin Scalia’s death, but I’m sure that with all of the concerns about Prince out there, thank goodness we have our priorities straight.

Ralph Adamo on April 22, 2016 at 4:39 pm

Maurice couldn’t touch Prince, not many out there who could. Its not gushing, its just that people appreciate talent and greatness. No scandals for this man. He did his own thing, no need for the disparaging mess. He became a J.W in 2001, hasn’t made or implied anything sexual since. True to his word.
. And Skunky you do realize that Prince is/was the only musician to recognize and utilized female musicians beyond window dressing or playing the damn tambourine.

MrBigBrain on April 22, 2016 at 6:28 pm

BDD you just never get it. I can always count on you arriving on the wrong day and at the wrong time. You also follow conventionality too much. Just because a certain demographic *thinks* the should like something doesn’t mean they should or a person shouldn’t venture outside those superficial boundaries. It’s boring to follow the (lame and boring) leader.

And you will need a time machine to impress upon me that I should love Dead Prince because he employed female musicians. That may have impressed me in the 80’s but oh yeah, I was a young feminist then and guess what, I didn’t care. Not when it was coming from a diminutive pervert. I wasn’t impressed and didn’t care then and believe me, back in that day a chick playing her own instruments was a BIG thing. At the time my idol was Lita Ford and she could kick ass on guitar (and still does…) so I was already a fan of the very best kick ass female.

Ok, so you like Prince. You don’t need people who don’t to like him to feel good about your fandom. It’s your bag, you don’t need anyone’s approval if you like him fine. I know I don’t give a frog’s fat one if anyone likes the things I like. I know what makes me happy and that is good enough for me. Following a script or liking the status quo would bore me to tears.

Thanks to Alfredo for the kind words on the other Prince thread and I am always a big fan of Ken B’s thoughts. I love the truth and a good laugh and he always provides both…and our Ken B. has NEVER been afraid to be a TRUE individual. That ROCKS!!!!

Skunky on April 22, 2016 at 10:57 pm

MBB, you are showing your ignorance of Maurice White. One glaring example — female musicians played an important role in EW&F music, both instrumentally and vocally.

Little Al on April 23, 2016 at 3:26 pm

Maurice couldn’t begin to compare to Prince. Reaching again.

Skunky-Prince is the only musician to this day that recognized and utilized female musician more than window dressing and tambourines. He became a J.W in 2001. Hasn’t made a sexual/tawdry song since. True to his word! People recognize greatness, it isn’t gushing.

MrBigBrain on April 22, 2016 at 6:33 pm

Thank you for the credit, Debbie.

And I would like to wish a happy Passover to Debbie and all the other Jewish readers on this site, as well as to any other readers here who celebrates the Holiday.

JeffE on April 22, 2016 at 7:42 pm

No matter how old he got, his beliefs regarding sex, women, religion, politics, and everything else under the sun, remained twisted, childish and immature, not unlike Wacko Jacko, and rappers galore.

His ideas of humor were grossly unfunny,( in his videos, “Under The Cherry Moon”,to name but a few ), his movies were childish.

The big hits and albums dried up around the mid-90s!

I really TRIED to like him, wanted to like him, but the bad far outweighed the good.

CharlesMartel on April 22, 2016 at 8:51 pm

Oops, Oops here is an article to refute your two articles that Prince was anti-jewish. Hey good call Prince$lyfe, looks like he had a Jewish connection after all

http://www.haaretz.com/jewish/news/1.715863

MrBigBrain on April 22, 2016 at 10:41 pm

MBB, I’ve already addressed Prince’s connections to Jews in my first post to Debbie’s first article on Prince’s death. Nobody has said that Prince was stupid musically or technically. He made a point of working with the best musicians and other professionals that he could that melded with his musical vision. And many of the top people in those professions (and many others, but that’s another story) happen to be Jews. So, yes, Prince seemed to work well with Jewish professional throughout his musical career, but that says nothing about his real positions. After all, even anti-Semitic composer Richard Wagner insisted that Hermann Levi, a Jew, conduct his operas because he wanted the best conductor to capture his musical vision that he could find.

Instead of searching in vain to support your misguided views, you should pay attention to the evidence that DS put in front of you:

Prince: “It’s fun being in Islamic countries, to know there’s only one religion . . . There’s order. You wear a burka. There’s no choice. People are happy with that.”

When questioned about being forced to wear a burka and not being happy about it, Prince said: “There are people who are unhappy with everything. . . There’s a dark side to everything.”

Only one religion permitted? State control? No choice?

This is what Prince thinks is “cool”?

Small wonder the leftists are gushing over him.

Sensing that he might be about to enter a political maelstrom, he added: ‘I don’t want to get up on a soapbox. ‘My view of the world, you can debate that for ever. But I’m a musician. That’s what I do. And I also am music. Come to the show for that.’ source – Daily Mail UK

Ralph Adamo on April 24, 2016 at 5:08 pm

Given the point about Prince giving concerts in the Muslim world over his lifetime, I had a serious question: How many of those performers who are now boycotting states like North Carolina and Mississippi that seek to protect women and children (and not sacrifice them on the altar of LGBT supremacism), have no compunction about: a) avoiding Israel like the plague and supporting the BDS movement, and b) performing in Muslim countries which stone, hang and behead gays?

ConcernedPatriot on April 22, 2016 at 11:03 pm

Ah Skunky, I’m just countering your anti Prince points and sharing info to the mis-informed. You and I discussed this prob about a year or so ago. I know you don’t like Prince and you gave the same reasons back then as you did today. So you are true. It’s not that big of a deal. I don’t get your point of being a conformist though. It is what it is

MrBigBrain on April 23, 2016 at 3:23 pm

I never liked him or his music and the wall to wall fuss over the electronic news channels and press has been sheer madness. May he rest in peace and may we now all have peace.

Prince Rogers Nelson a/k/a the Artist Currently Known as Dead

I love it

Tommy Thomas on April 24, 2016 at 2:08 pm

Although Prince was a talented musician and showman, I think that he always knew deep down that he wasn’t even a mega-talent, let alone a genius, and that always troubled him. I’m sure that he worked hard at his music, and the awards, money, and fame were a source of great satisfaction for him, but I could always see that he himself felt that something was missing within him. And he had to make up for his musical deficiencies by all sorts of distracting histrionics.

Consider this brief clip of his appearance at Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame playing George Harrison’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” courtesy of PBS (Palestinian Broadcasting System): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqSau6ahHaY
Note all the body “emoting” that he feels compelled to do during his solo, where he nearly falls off the stage. The solo itself was merely a ripoff of Harrison’s original, with some electronic effects thrown in to compensate for his utter lack of imagination. In short, the visual completely contradicts the audio. His carefully crafted visual creates the appearance that you’re hearing something great, but the audio tells the tale of the tape, and Prince comes up far short.

Now, compare Prince’s guitar work with that of Tina S, a young, female, guitar virtuoso. Her rendition of Edward Van Halen’s solo “Eruption” has been seen on YouTube more than 14 million times. But this video is her Vivaldi tribute:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIGfO2Dgc9Y&list=RDrV6SmY04WdE&index=2
Note that Tina does little body “emoting” and that she is not forcing any pained, soulful expressions on her face either to impress her viewers. She is focused completely on the music.

This is my first time coming to this site. You guys use muslims, gays, and other forms of xenophobia and homophobia as examples of what is wrong with America but you are what is wrong with America.

your ignorance about the rest of the world is making the US look like idiots and bigots. With the exception of MrBigBrain who seems to be the only voice of reason in here, Debbie Schlussel is pandering to people not willing to question the roots of their fears and their own limiting beliefs about the world.

Do you guys ever actually research anything? Coming to this website does not count. Your opinion about the world is not enough unless you put your wall down and actually make an effort to try and understsand this world and all the people that live in it. There is more to the world than just the US. Don’t get me wrong. I love the US too but this world is very large and has many varied and intelligent perspectives. this website is not one of them.

Stop eating up what the right wing media/ media in general is feeding you without questioning it. They are manipulating you with fear of the unknown. if you make an effort to study what is unknown to you then that form of manipulation will lose its power.

mag on April 25, 2016 at 3:35 pm

Actually, most of the right wing media has been praising Prince rather uncritically.

Little Al on April 25, 2016 at 3:56 pm

Poor “Mag…”…this dope forgot to write their full handle out…”MILK OF magNESIA”. FIFY!

One can always tell when someone is new to this fine blog. They are always the most un-informed but accuse us of it (haw-haw!!!), are very, very boring Libtard myna-birds (“The USA isn’t the only country in the world…WAH!!!! Don’t you know…”), they always get in right-wing knocks NOT knowing we are the 1st ones to to take it to the Conservative/Republican phonies (and far more accurate than the Left-Wing “astroturf” memes and lies) and they always ALWAYS think they are teaching us a thing or two. Boring, boring and super-ass boring!!!

All this coming from people who know NOTHING thinking they can school the well informed. FAIL!

Allllll the Prince lovers (you know the ones who didn’t give a stuff about him the day before he died) have annoyingly and hypocritically bought heaps of his pervo music on iTunes since he stopped joining us at the breakfast table. This is the stuff that sickens me to the core about silly, silly Americans. But you have some puffed up bottle of constipation medicine coming here to teach us a thing or two because we didn’t fall in line with the rest of the purple perverts. My avatars are lately always highlighting stupidity of people in 2016 and now you know why…

Skunky on April 25, 2016 at 5:34 pm

MAG, you mean because many of us here refuse to drink the leftist Koolaid, we “are what is wrong with America”? Well, obviously, I can’t speak for everyone here, but I’m personally not ready to embrace your leftist goal to transform America into a “multicultural” country, as you leftists call it. Call me old-fashioned and a “xenophobe” if that makes you feel better about yourself, but I’d rather not see America turn into a Sweden, where violent crime has increased by 300% and rapes by 1,472%. But please feel free to move there, where you will be right at home with like-minded individuals.

Ralph Adamo on April 25, 2016 at 5:47 pm

Also, MAG, just so you know, Prince was against gay marriage and was a Republican, having only donated money to one political candidate in 1990, Rudy Boschwitz, a Republican U.S. Senate candidate from Minnesota–who lost.

“Although Prince was a talented musician and showman, I think that he always knew deep down that he wasn’t even a mega-talent, let alone a genius, and that always troubled him.”
This is too funny, and so inaccurate. Knock it off, just stop. I think the world knows he was an absolute musical genius and after looking over his 39 albums he had about 7-8 songs that were overtly sexual with lyrics. He hardly made a career out of it.

MrBigBrain on April 26, 2016 at 2:26 pm

MBB, you’re obviously not a musician and know little about music. Nor could you even learn anything from the videos I posted.

Ralph Adamo on April 26, 2016 at 2:59 pm

More illustration of Prince’s deficiencies and musical limitations:

      Prince in his prime:
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W90uOrFcTMs

Now for a REAL guitar player — and one you probably never heard of — Dr. Viossy (AKA Michele Vioni), playing a modern fusion version of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata – 3rd movement
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZuSaudKc68

BTW, as I’ve mentioned, I think that Prince was very talented and his special skill was his ability to fuse various musical styles into new forms. But I have never felt that Prince ranked as a great musician, and I believed that he always recognized the same thing as well about himself.

Ralph Adamo on April 26, 2016 at 3:21 pm

Eddie Van Halen is the best guitarist in the history of rock and always will be. He’s a phenom, but classless “snobs” underrate him in polls. He makes Clapton, Satriani, etc. look like what they really are – chumps.
