OUTRAGE: Obama Joins Anti-Semitic Boycott of Israeli Products

By Debbie Schlussel

It’s official: the U.S. government is boycotting Israeli products, requiring a la the European Union, that products made in certain parts of Israel be labeled in an anti-Semitic manner more than a little reminiscent of official Nazi policy.

Here are the details of this latest disgusting Obama action against Jews and Israel.

A memo issued earlier this month by the Obama administration directs the U.S. “trade community” and government partner agencies to explicitly label Israeli-made goods that have been produced in the West Bank.
The Jan. 23 directive states that it is “not acceptable” to label goods coming from Israeli companies in the West Bank and Gaza Strip as having been produced in “Israel.”

The order comes amid an effort by the European Union to label Israeli-made goods, a move the Israeli government called anti-Israel and that prominent anti-Semitism watchdog groups have condemned as among the worst incidents of anti-Semitism in 2015. This is a shift from the administration’s previous position. A State Department spokesman told reporters in November that such labeling could be perceived as “a step on the way to a boycott” and said boycotts would be opposed by the administration. But earlier this month, senior Obama administration officials defended the EU’s move and reaffirmed its position against “Israeli settlement activity.”

The new guidance references a decades-old administrative directive that sought to promote the import of Palestinian goods produced in the West Bank. The Obama administration is facing criticism for reinterpreting it and enforcing it to punish Israeli businesses. The new memo, issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, is meant to “provide guidance to the trade community regarding the country of origin marking requirements for goods that are manufactured in the West Bank.” Goods produced in these areas are not to be labeled “with the words ‘Israel,’” according to the memo, which warns that inappropriate labeling will subject the products to “enforcement action” by Customs and Border Protection.

“Goods produced in the West Bank or Gaza Strip shall be marked as originating from ‘West Bank,’ ‘Gaza,’ ‘Gaza Strip,’ ‘West Bank/Gaza,’ ‘West Bank/Gaza Strip,’ ‘West Bank and Gaza,’ or ‘West Bank and Gaza Strip,’” according to the directive. “It is not acceptable to mark the aforementioned goods with the words ‘Israel,’’ ‘Made in Israel,’ ‘Occupied Territories-Israel,’ or any variation thereof,” it states.

Goods that are erroneously marked as products of Israel will be subject to an enforcement action carried out by U.S. Customs and Border Protection,” the memo states. “Goods entering the United States must conform to the U.S. marking statute and regulations promulgated thereunder.”

Outrageous. Disgusting. Despicable. And, yet, we are opening our borders to more and more Iranian products. Yup, the sponsors of HAMAS and Hezbollah get a welcome in the U.S. for their products. The victims of HAMAS and Hezbollah get a door slammed in their faces.

Note also that this policy is based on “redlining” against Jews. It essentially says that Jews cannot own and/or operate businesses in certain regions of Israel, but that Muslims can. Obama’s (in)Justice Department would sue you or probably put you in jail if you publicly said you would only sell your land in America to one religious group and not another or that you would not allow members of one religious group to operate a business in certain parts of America. No, wait, they’d probably only do that if the alleged “victims” were Muslim. For the rest of us, they’d pretend it didn’t happen or make excuses. So, I guess Obama is being consistent in his bigotry.

Exit Question: would a President Donald Trump reverse this horrible policy? Don’t bet on it. He’s already said he won’t recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital (and the others who say they will are generally lying), though a little over a week ago, Trump flip-flopped on this and said he would move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem in an interview with Christian Broadcast Network. And bet your last dollar that a Hillary or Bernie Presidency definitely would not reverse this.

That Was Then . . .

Unfortunately, Jewish billionaires are complicit in this policy. They continue to fund the political machinery that makes it possible for Obama and his ilk to exist. Take Irwin Jacobs, the head of Qualcomm …. (please, as Henny Youngman would say.) He’s busy funding Clinton, who would simply be an Obama third term or worse.

Ralph Adamo on January 29, 2016 at 5:09 pm

The Jews and their religious and philosophical descendants ( the Christians ) should obviously be boycotting the leftists ( communists, liberals and Democrats ). They should be.

Instead they are endorsing and enabling these leftist swine who seek their destruction.

JayPee on January 29, 2016 at 5:33 pm

As with Iran, unfortunately, virtually the entire Jewish establishment is complicit. They were never in favor, really, of the formation of Israel.

And if any Member of Congress has protested against this, I am not aware of it.

Little Al on January 29, 2016 at 5:40 pm

More grotesque than the US State Department are the liberal self hating Jews that will support Hillary in the next election.

Recalcitrant Zionist on January 29, 2016 at 5:49 pm

No, the correct term for these kapos is Self-loving, Jew-hating Jews. How can they be self hating when they consider themselves so superior to other Jews?

    Jerry G on January 30, 2016 at 8:44 am

An outrage, indeed. My favorite talk radio host was screaming about this last night. He picked it up from a web site that is persona non grata here. I don’t know if it was stolen from Debbie or not, but this is yet another example of the outrageous, blatant hatred of Jews sweeping the world, . . .

yet again.

God help us all. The human race is about to plunge into total darkness, . . .

yet again.

Other thing Israel can do if dealing w/ Trump – take a page out of the Art of the Deal. Demand that Medina be returned to Jews as a negotiating tactic. After all, it was a Jewish city before Mohammed massacred them.

Insist on it, and get Trump to recognize not just all of Jerusalem, but the entire West Bank & Gaza as a part of Israel. In return, Israel endorses Trump’s proposed ban on Muslim immigration, as long as Israel is allowed to do the same. Israel can then send their Palis to ISIS, who seems to take a dim view of them, as well as of Hamas. Another Alien vs Predator war – ISIS vs Hamas – would be golden.

In his speech to the Jewish Republican group in December, Trump says that Israel has already sacrificed so much, more so than more people know, and at the cost of their own security. He said they don’t get credit for what they’ve sacrificed, and that he understands if they don’t want to give any more concessions. So, I trust him on Israel.

B: Clearly, you didn’t listen to his speech very closely. That’s the VERY speech in which he refused to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and said Israel will have to sacrifice a lot to the Palestinians. After he made this speech, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu canceled his meeting with Trump. Your trust in Trump on Israel is entirely misplaced. DS

The country elected the enemy. Years (saturated since the 60’s) of propaganda, indoctrination in the education of the young, and infiltration of the academia, the media, and the gubmint have paid off for them. Proof: the followers of Billary and Bernie Sanders (an avowed socialist, really a communist) whose policies are totally antithetical to the tenants of the Constitution that made this country the greatest and most prosperous and generous country in the world; and they, including dear leader want to “transform” it.

Obviously it’s becoming more and more difficult to defend Israeli Apartheid but, of course, we can continue to accuse everyone of being anti-Semetic, loser as that is. It would all go away if Israel simply gave up the illegal occupation.

Neunuebel on January 30, 2016 at 9:14 am

Hey Neunuebel. There is no illegal Israeli occupation. However there is an illegal occupation of Israel. Under the Mandate for Palestine as currently implemented through Article 80 of the United Nations charter, all of the lands, including what you call the “West Bank” and Gaza, belong to israel under both International law and the United Nations’ own rules.

This would be laughable if it weren’t so sophomoric. Nothing is saying these goods can come in, they just need to be relabeled.

Geez

Neunuebel on January 30, 2016 at 9:20 am

Hey Neunuebel. You are the one being “sophomoric”.

The fact of the matter is the goods CANNOT come in if they are PROPERLY labelled.

Bee, in that same speech, in response to a question on the status on Jerusalem, Trump said that Israel too had to be prepared to make concessions as a part of any dealmaking.

If he could say that to a Jewish group, he’s less, not more, likely to be supportive of Israeli demands at any negotiations. Just like many JINOs have happily sold Israel down the river, people shouldn’t read much into Ivanka being a devoted convert to Judaism.

Infidel on January 30, 2016 at 9:02 pm

Lex, when people say ‘rest of the world’ or the ‘international community’, who exactly are they talking about? Does the average person in, say, Cameroon or Myanmar or Thailand or Korea care about the status of Jerusalem?

This is a huge fraud perpetuated on people. The only people who care about the Arab-Israeli conflict are Leftist Academics worldwide – from Berkeley to Manchester to Beirut to Calcutta. Essentially, they are anti Western renegades, who since the end of the Cold War, have been looking for any anti Western movement behind which to rally, and have found one in Islam. Never mind that if the Muslims had their way, all the favorite factions within the Leftist groups – Gays, Feminists, Animal Rights activists, Atheists, et al would be the first ones targeted by them for execution. Nobody else cares – they are perfectly fine w/ Jews living peacefully in their own country, and in the event that they happen to have Muslim minorities, they are even supportive of other non-Muslim countries that have problems w/ their own Muslim minorities. Such as Serbia.

Neunuebel talked about ‘Israeli Apartheid’. The only countries that practically practice apartheid of any kind are the Muslim ones. In Malaysia, they have that practice of Bhumiputra, which is discrimination on the behalf of Muslims in that country (not just Malays, as is commonly thought, but also Hui Chinese i.e. ethnic Chinese who’ve embraced Islam) against everyone else. In Saudi Arabia, Jews are not allowed to enter, and they have discriminatory practices against any non-Muslims practicing their religion in public. People rant against the idea of Jews being allowed to worship at the Temple Mount, but non Muslims are not allowed in Mecca or Medina.

So asswipes like Neunuebel or Lex should really either STFU or move to Raqqa and sign up for ISIS.

Barack Obama has shown an antipathy towards Israel since the beginning of his administration.

Few people in the West, and even fewer “progressive” intellectuals realize who and what the “Palestinians” are.

Within the Arabic-speaking world, Palestinians are universally reviled and held in contempt as a disloyal, cantankerous people lacking real Arabian descent. In the Gulf monarchies, Palestinians are still (reluctantly) used for their skills because Palestinians are far more Westernized than native Arabs.

Nobody has forgotten how Palestinians in Kuwait betrayed their hosts to Saddam Hussein.

As of 1918, the “Palestine” portion of the collapsing Ottoman empire was undeveloped and only sparsely inhabited with the flotsam and jetsam of various populations, many of them not Arab (e.g. Armenian, Circassian, etc. as well as obvious descendants of European crusaders – look at pictures of “Palestinians”).

A significant proportion of the population in 1918 were Christian, and of course, there were always some Mizrahi (Middle Eastern), Sephardic and other Jews.

Starting in the late 1800s, the start of Jewish immigration from Europe into Ottoman and later British “Palestine” made the area much more attractive, and huge numbers of disadvantaged Ottoman Muslims also immigrated to “Palestine” to take advantage of the opportunities created by the Jewish settlers.

Guardian Angel on January 31, 2016 at 1:40 pm

Guardian Angel, as Debbie once pointed out, in the first half of the last century – before Israel’s independence, the term ‘Palestinian’ meant a JEW living in Palestine. NOT ARABS.

In fact, at the time, Arabs were looked at as a single nation. The borders we see today b/w Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Libya, Sudan, et al were all drawn by Europeans who colonized the region. There are no ethnic differences b/w Sunni Arabs of Iraq and Syria – which explains why ISIS is popular in BOTH places. There is no place in the Libyan desert where Arabs stop being Egyptian and suddenly become Libyan.

That’s why the way in which the US forced Iraq to remain a single country was fully artificial, and is at the root of much of the current problem. The US would have been perfectly justified in partitioning Iraq b/w Shia, Sunni, Kurd, w/ even Christian enclaves tossed in. Problem is that Bush was totally in bed w/ the Saudis and Turks, and accepted the intolerance of the former of a Shia state on their border, and intolerance of the latter of a Kurdish state. But a 3 or 4 state solution would have been ideal.

I can see civil war spreading to Saudi Arabia and then its neighbors at Iran’s behest. Ideal solution is to divvy up these countries on sectarian lines. That would include Iran – carve out its Kurdish, Azeri, Balochi and Arab regions out of Iran. Saudi Arabia – separate out their Shia province. Lebanon – give Maronites their own country, and the rest – split it up b/w Shia, Sunni and Druze. And so on.

Infidel on January 31, 2016 at 2:58 pm

Infidel, Debbie is, of course, quite correct in saying, and you are in repeating, that “before Israel’s independence, the term ‘Palestinian’ meant a JEW living in Palestine. NOT ARABS.”

If you look at my post above, you will notice the the term “Palestinian” is used only in quotes, and is used only with respect to the population in the current era (ca. post 1990).

As a geographic term, “Palestine” was used during the British era. Extrapolating the term farther back to the Ottoman era is surely excusable as shorthand.

You are also correct that Arabs pre-1948 did not have clearly delineated political affiliations corresponding to the current ruler-drawn borders e.g. between Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

These issues should not detract from the important but overlooked point in my earlier post – that the settled Arabic-speaking populations in place in current Israel (including Judea, Samaria and Gaza) e.g. in 1918 or 1948 were and continue to be viewed as heterogeneous by neighboring Arabic-speaking groups as well as by their Ottoman rulers/former rulers.

It is said that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result

Please read the WINDSOR STAR article about Israel and Ban Ki Moon’s comments:

http://www.windsorstar.com/news/world/chief+moon+tells+israel+stop+98lashing+every+well+intentioned/11689758/story.html

To me, it is just more and more of the same – blame Israel.

How does one stop this continuous insanity?

Dennis on February 1, 2016 at 10:16 am

I am coming to the U.S. soon for a family visit from Israel. I will be bringing with me some chocolate that is made in Moddin, which is according to them in the West Bank. All of us frum Jews know it is all Israel forever. So will the customs stop me and confiscate my chocolate if the decide to search my luggage? If they will do that, I will make such big scene and they are nazis and are mistreating me by taking away my chocolate I brought for my mother and sister.

Alaexander Shekhtman on February 4, 2016 at 8:45 am

Once again hardliners are confusing the current Israeli government to Judaism in general. Obama (and the EU) are NOT being anti-Semitic in requiring products from the West Bank to be relabeled. The West Bank is not Israel, it is occupied territory. The Netanyahu government is trying to absorbed this territory settlement by settlement. This was tried in both the Sinai Peninsula and Gaza, but eventually all settlements were removed. Building the current settlements is as detrimental to real peace in the area as is the Palestine refusal to disavow the total destruction of the Israeli state as their ultimate goal.

William Maya on February 7, 2016 at 1:50 pm

So… to make sure that people don’t buy goods made illegally from illegal settlements in illegal non-state positions is to be anti-jew? Oookaay Debs, oookaaaay.
