Famous Movie Star’s Illegal Alien Wife Gets U.S. Citizenship (Conservative Idiots Praise It)
A famous movie star’s illegal alien wife was just granted citizenship, and, sadly, a bunch of hack “conservative” websites who don’t bother to do the slightest bit of research are touting her as a “laudable” example of an immigrant getting citizenship “the legal way.” It was anything but.
Actor Matthew McConaughey’s Brazilian-born wife, Camila Alves, came the to the United States illegally. She bragged about it. She also worked illegally as a hotel maid and at restaurants. She bragged about that, too. And the U.S. government made her pay no penalty for cheating the system and put her ahead of those who waited in line and did it the legal, right way. On August 4th, Alves was sworn in as a U.S. citizen.
Yes, Alves is beautiful and hasn’t led a life of crime (though she committed several crimes when she came here illegally, stayed, and worked). But, so what? Should we only be concerned with illegal alien drunk drivers, rapists, and murderers? If you are beautiful and married to a movie star, should you get a break for breaking the law and coming here illegally? Hell, no.
Yet, that’s what happened with Alves. Alves came to the United States at age 15 to visit her California-based aunt. It is unclear whether or not Alves came here on a tourist visa or merely invaded the country illegally. But what is clear is that if she did in fact have a tourist visa, she overstayed it and remained here. At the age of 15, Alves began illegal, full-time work at hotels (as a maid) and at restaurants. It is unclear when and how her immigration status changed. And she may still have been an illegal alien when she met McConaughey at a bar and began dating him.
Since becoming Mrs. McConaughey, a world of fame and wealth has opened up for this “former” illegal alien. Alves became a model and spokeschick for Macy’s “I.N.C.” clothing brand, she hosted and served as a judge on cable shows, started her own failed line of handbags, and she’s styled herself as a Martha-Stewart-esque crafter and cook on “The Rachael Ray Show.” The August 24th issue of People, the magazine’s latest edition, features Alves’ chocolate cheesecake pudding recipe (which appears to be plagiarized from a million other lesser known cooks on the internet).
And all of that is nice . . . for her. But it doesn’t do anything for America. We’re always told that illegal aliens contribute a great deal to America, but does America have a shortage of female models, cable show hosts and judges, handbag designers, cooks and crafters, and women seeking to become the wives of movie stars? Not really. We have too many of each of those, actually.
And even if we did not, Camila Alves broke the law. She was, like 60% of illegal aliens now in our midst, one of the many people who may have come here legally, but stayed because they are selfish and have no respect for the laws and the system which has a procedure and a line of which Camila Alves didn’t want to get in the back.
At 15, she and her mom came to the U.S. to visit her uncle Thomas and aunt Claudia in California. “The minute I got off the plane I looked at my mother and said, ‘I don’t think I’m going back,'” recalls Alves. “I didn’t speak any English, and I didn’t have any money. I left everything I knew.” For the next few years Alves slept on a friend’s couch in Los Angeles. With barely enough money to eat, she went to night school, cleaned houses and worked in restaurants.
Great, she worked hard. So do many Americans whose jobs she took and many non-Americans who actually did apply for citizenship the legal way and need those jobs to begin their lives here.
NO, Camila Alves did NOT come here and get her citizenship “the legal way.” Despite what many mindless, malpracticed conservative websites and media sources (including U.S. News and World Report) are telling you, she did benefit from illegal alien amnesty . . . the de facto kind we have every single day, when those who come here, stay and work here illegally, are suddenly converted into U.S. citizens without the strike of the President’s executive order pen.
And instead of citizenship, Camila Alves should have been deported. It doesn’t matter that she’s beautiful. Or that she’s married to a movie star. She’s as illegal as the far less attractive, pot-smoking illegal alien sitting at home collecting welfare.
After being sworn in, Alves posted to her social media platforms, “Happy to say I now hold an American passport! I have so much respect and appreciation for this country #newuscitizen.”
Um, we saw how much respect she had when, for years, she violated our immigration laws. And got away with it.
She’s living the American dream . . . because she cheated.
