Famous Movie Star’s Illegal Alien Wife Gets U.S. Citizenship (Conservative Idiots Praise It)

By Debbie Schlussel

matthewmcconaugheycamilaalves

A famous movie star’s illegal alien wife was just granted citizenship, and, sadly, a bunch of hack “conservative” websites who don’t bother to do the slightest bit of research are touting her as a “laudable” example of an immigrant getting citizenship “the legal way.” It was anything but.

Actor Matthew McConaughey’s Brazilian-born wife, Camila Alves, came the to the United States illegally. She bragged about it. She also worked illegally as a hotel maid and at restaurants. She bragged about that, too. And the U.S. government made her pay no penalty for cheating the system and put her ahead of those who waited in line and did it the legal, right way. On August 4th, Alves was sworn in as a U.S. citizen.

Yes, Alves is beautiful and hasn’t led a life of crime (though she committed several crimes when she came here illegally, stayed, and worked). But, so what? Should we only be concerned with illegal alien drunk drivers, rapists, and murderers? If you are beautiful and married to a movie star, should you get a break for breaking the law and coming here illegally? Hell, no.

Yet, that’s what happened with Alves. Alves came to the United States at age 15 to visit her California-based aunt. It is unclear whether or not Alves came here on a tourist visa or merely invaded the country illegally. But what is clear is that if she did in fact have a tourist visa, she overstayed it and remained here. At the age of 15, Alves began illegal, full-time work at hotels (as a maid) and at restaurants. It is unclear when and how her immigration status changed. And she may still have been an illegal alien when she met McConaughey at a bar and began dating him.

Since becoming Mrs. McConaughey, a world of fame and wealth has opened up for this “former” illegal alien. Alves became a model and spokeschick for Macy’s “I.N.C.” clothing brand, she hosted and served as a judge on cable shows, started her own failed line of handbags, and she’s styled herself as a Martha-Stewart-esque crafter and cook on “The Rachael Ray Show.” The August 24th issue of People, the magazine’s latest edition, features Alves’ chocolate cheesecake pudding recipe (which appears to be plagiarized from a million other lesser known cooks on the internet).

And all of that is nice . . . for her. But it doesn’t do anything for America. We’re always told that illegal aliens contribute a great deal to America, but does America have a shortage of female models, cable show hosts and judges, handbag designers, cooks and crafters, and women seeking to become the wives of movie stars? Not really. We have too many of each of those, actually.

And even if we did not, Camila Alves broke the law. She was, like 60% of illegal aliens now in our midst, one of the many people who may have come here legally, but stayed because they are selfish and have no respect for the laws and the system which has a procedure and a line of which Camila Alves didn’t want to get in the back.

At 15, she and her mom came to the U.S. to visit her uncle Thomas and aunt Claudia in California. “The minute I got off the plane I looked at my mother and said, ‘I don’t think I’m going back,'” recalls Alves. “I didn’t speak any English, and I didn’t have any money. I left everything I knew.” For the next few years Alves slept on a friend’s couch in Los Angeles. With barely enough money to eat, she went to night school, cleaned houses and worked in restaurants.

Great, she worked hard. So do many Americans whose jobs she took and many non-Americans who actually did apply for citizenship the legal way and need those jobs to begin their lives here.

NO, Camila Alves did NOT come here and get her citizenship “the legal way.” Despite what many mindless, malpracticed conservative websites and media sources (including U.S. News and World Report) are telling you, she did benefit from illegal alien amnesty . . . the de facto kind we have every single day, when those who come here, stay and work here illegally, are suddenly converted into U.S. citizens without the strike of the President’s executive order pen.

And instead of citizenship, Camila Alves should have been deported. It doesn’t matter that she’s beautiful. Or that she’s married to a movie star. She’s as illegal as the far less attractive, pot-smoking illegal alien sitting at home collecting welfare.

After being sworn in, Alves posted to her social media platforms, “Happy to say I now hold an American passport! I have so much respect and appreciation for this country #newuscitizen.”

Um, we saw how much respect she had when, for years, she violated our immigration laws. And got away with it.

She’s living the American dream . . . because she cheated.

The law.

I’m not really worried about her. But the precedent set by her gaining American citizenship is one we should think twice about and here’s why.

What about illegal alien Muslims whose vow of loyalty would be feigned and who surely would do this country a great deal of harm?

Not every illegal alien is going to be like Camila Alves. That is a fantasy.

Yet this is were blind support of amnesty for illegal aliens will lead America. We’d have to take the bad along with the good since we can’t play favorites.

And in the process we will weaken American national sovereignty. I should add I agree with Debbie that Alves should have been deported back to Brazil instead of being granted US citizenship.

Her fame should have no bearing on the matter since she refused to abide by the laws of our country. And if she deserved forgiveness, its something that would have to be extended to far more serious offenders as well.

I’m opposed to amnesty on principle. It isn’t about the Camila Alves in our midst. Its about the very future of America.

Can we still kick her out? The whole family can move to Mexico. Kick him out too.

Hillel on August 18, 2015 at 3:04 pm

mexico would not accept a lazy sinjaler, stupid “moviestar”, like mateo. Moreover, the only time they let Brazilians into their country is when they’re robbing them as they make their way to the border from mexico $ity to jump the fence. Actually, these days, Brazilians skip good ole tenochtitlan, with their convenient B1/B2 Visa, and head straight for the land of the free milk and honey, just like the beautiful #filhadamae probably did when she was 15.
“And instead of citizenship, Camila Alves should have been deported. It doesn’t matter that she’s beautiful. Or that she’s married to a movie star. She’s as illegal as the far less attractive, pot-smoking illegal alien sitting at home collecting welfare.” Here, here, Debbie. I would like to add that U.S. Citizen chlidren should not help such people stay here either. mateo can haul them to visit cariocas, or paulistas, or whatever to enjoy some churrasco and feijao.
How much money did she earn with someone else’s SSN? How many tax dollars did she steal from California and the U.S. Government? How many trips went unpaid at the emegency rooms she vivited? Who paid for her education? I want an itemized list of every penny that she bilked from my state since she was 15. I’ll hold my breath.

Please excuse the mispelled words and bad syntax, in three languages, as usual. Debbie this topic makes my blood boil. Thank you for your continued vigilance on this matter.

You people are awfully naive about how people get work permits and who gets them. Alves was a fashion model, a Brazilian fashion model (like Gisele Bundchen – who is still not a US citizen). The agencies hiring fashion models can easily get work permits for them. Beauty trumps brains. http://www.inc.com/bill-murphy-jr/why-fashion-models-are-twice-as-likely-to-get-h1b-visas-as-computer-programmers.html

Alves became a fashion model in NYC when she was 19 she has said. She might have been illegal before then (or her aunt and uncle may have declared her as a dependent minor and applied for a green card). No doubt at 19 the agency that hired her got her an H1B visa. She would have only been obliged to leave the country (go to Canada) for the duration of the procedure. If that visa was renewed she would have been eligible to apply for a green card (which she no doubt did). A green card holder has most of the same rights as a US citizen (except right to vote).

As for “deporting” McConaughey, the man is worth (according to Forbes) $125 million and earned $22 million in 2014. I doubt that the US Department of the Treasury wants him to live abroad, paying taxes in his country of residence and only a very reduced rate in the US.

In any case illegals who get employed (and how would American hotels and restaurants be able to keep in business without them – who wants to scrub hotel toilets? I don’t see a long line forming.) with somebody else’s SS number are paying into that person’s SS account. The illegal doesn’t actually get any SS benefits later. They also have tax deducted and cannot claim anything back.

Do you really think the rich people in this country want illegals deported? No way. What would they do without their illegal nannies, gardeners, pool boys, cleaning ladies? And what would hotels and restaurants do if they had to pay a living wage to people cleaning the toilets and washing the dishes?

M: RIF – Reading Is Fundamental. Try it before commenting, as you clearly haven’t read a word. She came here as a tourist when she was 15. When it was time to go home, she did NOT. She stayed here illegally (and WITHOUT a visa), NOT as a model. In fact, she worked here illegally as a hotel maid and in restaurants. She became a model much later than that. I couldn’t care less what rich people want regarding immigration. It isn’t relevant to what the law is and that Camila Alves broke it by living and working here illegally. End of story. DS

Mike on August 20, 2015 at 5:43 pm

Vai tomar no cu. Hey Mike, since you know everything about her situation, why don’t you tell me how much income tax she didn’t pay the State of California and the Federal Government while she was here prior to her adjustment of status, i.e. while she was living here ILLEGALLY? Since all the rights afforded to citizens, except voting, were extended to her, how many guns could she buy when she was a model?
Just because somebody does a sleazy, grimy, job that most Americans won’t do, like prance around half-naked in front of a camera doesn’t mean that illegal aliens can do as they please. For example, steal somebody’s SSN and work illegally under the stolen identity. What makes you think that it’s OK because they won’t get the money back (nor will the person legally issued that number)? So, The government gets the additional ill-gotten taxes? Maybe that’s why the government allows this problem to persist?
Take your sophistry and shove it. STFU. You’re a big part of the problem, not the rich people you envy.

A situation like this does a great deal to promote the interest of the amnesty folks, both Republicans and Democrats.

It is in their interests to promote confusion between legality and illegality. The more confusion is created about if and when the law is broken, the more the interests of amnesty are promoted.

And of course this confusion serves the interests of politicians running for office who say they want a legal path to citizenship. What is a legal path? The more uncertainty or bewilderment there is on the part of taxpayers, the better it serves the amnesty people.

And whatever process this illegal alien used to gain citizenship, of course will benefit other illegals and their advocates.

Oh Boy! I am taking a deep breath on this one.

If a “STATE, NATION, COUNTRY” is unable to fulfill its obligation to protect existing CITIZENS from crime, physical harm, disease, and other self-evident obligations, then why even have a “STATE, NATION, COUNTRY”?

If every human was SPOCK-like, then there would not be a need for a “STATE, NATION, COUNTRY”. Rational Thought / Logic would control the baser and violent activities of humans. Unfortunately, the World is not Spock-like. (It is not even peacefully religious!)

So, I wish people could move about rather freely while conducting themselves in accordance with existing Laws of a “STATE, NATION, COUNTRY”, but since, at this time, they cannot if they violate the legally enacted Laws, then for all who are gatecrashers, regardless of how beautiful, intelligent, hardworking, etc. you may be…Please Leave and start the process to enter L-E-G-A-L-L-Y.

ps: A Real-life warning for Actor Matthew McConaughey and his Brazilian-born wife, Camila Alves:

Don’t leave your home unattended…one never knows how easy it would be for a “SQUATTER” to claim OWNERSHIP OF YOUR HOME!!!!!

Dennis on August 18, 2015 at 5:03 pm

Squatter indeed. In Sacramento, Mexifornia, I had beaners leave a note on my door “claiming” they wanted to rent my home. I as just moved in and my new furniture and window coverings were in yet, beaners saw an opportunity. The truth is… If I hadn’t removed that “note” on my door, I would be calling 911 who would no doubt refuse to act because it was a civil matter. The truth is…. It’s not PC to protect American rights over foreign parasites. My house would have been stolen right out from under me probably by 50 beaners using it as an asylum house 🙁

Darrell Hicks on August 18, 2015 at 6:08 pm

It is nice to know that if you do things the legitimate way you are a fool. I also noted the “Anchor Babies”. That was probably her insurance policy, if she ever actually faced deportation.

George H.W. Bush slammed the door on Ronald Reagan, breathed a sigh of relief and said, “a kinder, gentler America.” Translation: We’re going to start bending over.

The Great StainMaker said he longed for the day when he was in the minority. Sometimes, even a compulsive liar tells the truth.

George W. Bush likes everything Halal, including his breakfast buckwheat pancakes. His brother speaks perfect Spanish. Translation: Let everyone in.

Barack Milhous Hussein Benito Obama said he considers himself a “citizen of the world.”

Thanks for dressing up for the occasion Matthew. You look “smart” wearing your ball cap inside a Federal Courtroom.

Money talks! The rest of people waiting, paying, obeying, can still wait to get in legally. I’ll bet if you follow the money, it will lead to a Congressman/Senator/President. Of course, it will be a “campaign contribution.”

Everyone spouts about the beloved “Path to Citizenship”. In the nearly 30-years I spent in INS & DHS, less than 50% of aliens I spoke to ever expressed any desire to become American citizens. They are content renewing their green cards every 10-years. The naturalization process is expensive and means very little these days. If we had a Draft, the fact is, most naturalized citizens would never serve in our military. No Islam N-400 would ever do battle against an Islamic country. Never happen

Just saw “Dallas Buyer’s Club”.How did Jared Lateo and MM when oscars for that.At best there acting sligtly better than Pauly Shore but not as good as Adam Sandler.MM must have streaked in front of the right Academy Members and Jared must be a method actor and rehearsed on the right members.

Julian on August 19, 2015 at 8:58 pm

I read that to expel the many illegal aliens here would be a very long and costly process. IMHO to enforce the existing laws whereas it is against the law to employ persons who do not obtain a green card or are not citizens. Without means of employment, they would voluntarily leave.

Cosmo101 on August 20, 2015 at 3:33 am

She’s just another brown invader in my book. Nothing special. Send her back with her kids and if that nim wit husband of hers wants to complain, he can leave too. This country doesn’t have to go through a huge process all at once to rid this country of it’s infestation. Deport them as we come across them, and believe me, it would be pretty quick. As they apply for jobs, for taxpayer funded handouts, as they get arrested, one by one, ship them back.

If I were a LEGAL immigrant, especially one from Brazil,I’d be extremely livid. What business does this woman have getting American citizenship? She doesn’t deserve it! What she deserves is a one-way ticket back to Brazil!!!! This is unbelievably idiotic. This gal should have been gone a LOOOOOOOONG time ago.

Ghostwriter on August 24, 2015 at 7:55 pm

Have you seen the ass on that chick? She can live anywhere she wants. With me….for free.

Joe Smith on August 26, 2015 at 3:27 am

Well,Joe. Just because a woman has a cute bottom DOESN’T mean that if she didn’t come here legally, she should stay here. In fact, this gal and her behind should be on a one-way trip to Brazil.
