More Proof NATO (and Denmark) Jumped the Shark

By Debbie Schlussel

I’ve long believed that NATO–the North Atlantic Treaty Organization–jumped the shark.

NATO Chief Rasmussen Pandering to Muslims

It’s ineffective and a waste of time and money, in no small part because we’ve lobbied for and pushed many dangerous and/or irrelevant nations for admittance into NATO.  And NATO is infected by the membership of Turkey, the increasingly extremist Muslim state.  The U.S. shares a good deal of intelligence with NATO, which will ultimately be in the hands of our Islamic enemies via our Turkish “friends.”  And Turkey initially held up NATO’s new secretary-general, Anders Fogh Rasmussen’s, nomination because he headed Denmark, and Turkey was upset over the Danish Mohammed cartoon publication.

In recent years–recent decades–NATO has done little of consequence that Western allies couldn’t do on their own.

And Rasmussen’s current Islamo-pandering trip in Turkey is yet the latest slide down the ladder of irrelevance. But the Islamic world is eating it up.  That’s ironic, considering that NATO was founded in 1949, in the aftermath of Europe’s liberation from the Nazis.  Now, that Europe is re-enslaving itself with the new Nazis–Muslims–NATO has chosen that path, too, apparently.

Eyeing better ties with the Islamic world after the Prophet cartoon crisis, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen joined Turkish leaders at a Ramadan iftar on Thursday, August 27.

natojumptheshark.jpg

“Please see my presence here tonight as a clear manifestation of my respect for Islam as one of the world’s great religions,” Rasmussen said at the iftar banquet with Turkish Primer Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reported Agence France Presse (AFP). . .  .

Rasmussen was named the new NATO chief earlier this year after Turkey, NATO’s predominantly Muslim member, dropped objections to his nomination after intervention from US President Barack Obama.

Ankara had long objected Rasmussen’s nomination over his mishandling of the crisis of cartoons satirizing Prophet Muhammad . . . .

Rasmussen also praised Turkey as a bridge between the Muslim world and the West.

“I’m confident that we will make real progress in building trust and cooperation between the Alliance and partners in the Mediterranean and the Middle East.”

Translation: We’re gonna sell Israel down the river to please our Muslims.

Erdogan, the Turkish premier, described Rasmussen’s Islam remarks as ‘helpful and encouraging’.

“(It) will be a meaningful message to the people of my country and the Muslim world,” he said.

But the Turkish premier angrily rejected the West’s labeling of extremist violence as “Islamist terrorism”, urging more Western respect for Islam.

Sadly, Islam gets way too much respect in the West already. That’s the reason Rasmussen was kissing Mohammedan ass over shawarmeh in Turkey.

Like I said, NATO jumped the shark long ago.

This may be true in theory. The reality is that our allies will not do anything without at least the political cover of going through NATO. This is downright stupid, but it is what it is.

I agree with everything else.

NATO is a relic of the Cold War, and no longer serves any real strategic interest of the United States. Only four members, France, the U.K., Canada, and the United States do virtually all of the heavy lifting, as has been demonstrated in Afghanistan. A more compact and engaged membership in a new organization would be far more beneficial.

NATO has become a Masonic Lodge

Since B. Hussein Obama backs Rasmussen, what does this say about the character and reputation of the liberal Rasmussen?

So the Turks do not want us to use the term “Islamic terrorism.” Then what should we call it? The vast majority of terrorist acts commited worlwide are by Muslim terrorists. How many Jewish and Christian terrorists do you see? There have been some, but that is a very small and insignificant number compared to the Islamic terrorist acts. I see that a lot of countries are cowering away from these terms, and it is pathetic. We should rename the “War On Terror” to the “War On Islam”. Like Debbie has said, you call a spade a spade.

The last time I looked, Turkey is not in the North Atlantic. How can they be part of NATO? NATO should be an exclusive club that does not include predominantly Muslim countries.

Turkey is not the latest member of NATO. It’s been an member of NATO since February 1952.

Turkey once was a moderate secular state on Europe’s eastern flank. But ever since Islamists took over, most Europeans do not want Turkey in the EU. Europe which has Christian roots, would not get along comfortably with a Muslim sibling in the room. That however may be a moot point as Islam looks set to become the majority faith in Europe within a generation. NATO and Europe have jumped the shark ahead of time.

Wise man once said:

Muslims will eat their enemies and keep their non muslim allies to eat later for dessert.

Debbie,

In the Middle East much is made of the new president being more aggressive aganist Israel compared to prior adminstrations and that the military class and generals are steadfastly proIsrael and he’s trying to cause a showdown. Any truth to a schism in policy in Turkey?

As far as NATO goes, all you need to see is the mission in Afghanistan and proof of it’s effectiveness. It’s basically 70-75% American and the rest Anglo (UK, Canada) and pitter pattering smidgen of the rest of Europe in mostly non combat roles. Also, the newest mission is Somalia with an American lead.

NATO is useless and we should get out. Can you imagine us going to war on the behalf of Turkey? Need I say more.

It is incredable that so many Americans are blind to the Islamic threat. The White House is just an advance party for the coming revolution and if we don’t wake up the citizenry to their possible, horrid fate, we will be in tough straits to survive as a democracy. And for one minute you believe that Obama is a Christan at heart, I’ll sell you the Brookylyn Bridge. That is, if the president hasn’t taken your money for it already.

Don’t worry too much about The Nato Secretary, The Danes in the next election are going downright nationalist. They are without a doubt going to be the first to use that Viking heritage in spades, the muzzies in that country are getting very nervous about their prospects of staying in their country, and they are telling the EU human rights commision to go pound sand. Gotta love when the ole Viking DNA comes out to play. As for the muzzy Turks I can say that the Euro’s are doing nothing but playing lip service, Turkey will become a member of the EU when hell freezes over.

D: The same Danes who constantly verbally attack and criticize Israel, won’t trade with the Israelis, and have opened their country’s borders to Muslims galore? Don’t hold your breath. It’s too late, anyway. Clearly, Viking DNA means zero. DS

They saved 7000 Jews in WWII. That was good. They didn’t save more because they refused to let refugees in pre-war.

    The Europeans DON’T GET IT.

As much as I would like to be cynical about the Danes, the facts on the ground are proving very different, as much as I would like to post some interesting tid bits, lets just say ole Holger Dankse is opening his eyes and is coming to life, and when he does the blood letting is going to be very very brutal. The rest of Europe is slowly coming awake to their muzzy guests and it isn’t going to be pretty. It is enevitable.

D: That’s a fantasy. This is the real Denmark: http://www.debbieschlussel.com/3350/happy-50th-lego-with-reservations/

Recep Tayyip Erdogan is a very radical individual. His party, Justice and Development, is an Islamist party that has systematcially gone after secular institutions, such as the military and judiciary in order to gradually impose a quasi-Islamist order. In addition, Erdogan’s friendly attitude towards Syria and Iran has been more than disgraceful.

“But the Turkish premier angrily rejected the West’s labeling of extremist violence as “Islamist terrorism”, urging more Western respect for Islam.”

The above quote in and of itself should preclude any future E.U. membership. Also, I would ask in what way does institutional Islam deserves any respect? Mr. Erdogan, may your anger fall back on you.

You have to go beyond what the Danish Govt. is doing and what is happening on the ground, two very diferant realities. Since am rather sporting type of guy, I’ll make a small wager with you, 1 liter bottle of your favorite beverage against mine, 1 liter bottle of Jim Beam Black. The wager is this, within a very short period in time, you will see the muzzies leaving and or fighting in the streets and see how the press reports it?

What does “jumped the shark” mean?

Miranda Rose Smith on August 30, 2009 at 4:09 am

If they sell Israel down the river, feed Israel to the Islamic crocodiles, we can all take a certain dark comfort in the thought of the crocodiles eating THEM next.
