Pizza Jihad: Papa Palace Pizzeria Owner Essam El Ghannam Won’t Condemn ISIS, HAMAS, Hezbollah; Won’t Recognize Israel’s Right to Exist

I would say, “I hate to say it, but . . . .” But I don’t hate to say it: I told you so. The owner of Baltimore’s Papa Palace pizzeria–which he claims was torched by race rioters–is an Egyptian Muslim who refuses to condemn ISIS and HAMAS and won’t recognize Israel’s right to exist, as I suspected in an earlier post.

Essam El Ghannam, who owns Papa Palace pizza store, recently contacted me in e-mails in response to my column regarding my suspicions about him and his beliefs and my statement that I wasn’t going to shed a tear for him yet or maybe ever. Now, for certain, it’s never. As you may recall, a gaggle of the online money-making establishment known as “Conservative, Inc.ers,” including FOX News, plagiarized a Baltimore TV station’s story on El Ghannam and cried over “minority” El Ghannam. But he did not have my sympathy. And he certainly doesn’t now.

El Ghannam told me he’s an Egyptian Muslim with U.S. citizenship (and very poor English). And he refused to answer my questions regarding whether or not he would condemn HAMAS and ISIS and recognize Israel’s right to exist. After repeated e-mails, the only thing he insisted on is that he has “Jewish friends.” Yup, the old “some of my best friends are [insert ethnicity here]” defense. Read our e-mail exchange, which should answer all the critics I heard from who insisted to me that El Ghannam was 1) probably Christian (he isn’t); or 2) probably not extremist and pro-HAMAS/anti-Israel (sure looks like he is, as his silence and refusal to answer my questions are deafening):

Well, I need the answers in a written e-mail, please. It’s not that difficult. It’s either you condemn Hezbollah and HAMAS and agree with Israel’s right to exist or you don’t. Those are yes or no answers that don’t need a phone call or explanation. If you won’t answer in writing, I think we pretty much have the answers.

This is not something that needs a phone conversation. It’s a quick yes or no. So yes or no, do you condemn HAMAS & ISIS? And yes or no, do you recognize Israel’s right to exist?
DS

And that was the end of the conversation. I never heard back from Essam El Ghannam again, which is predictable because, per the typical Muslim extremist who is on board with the program, he refused to specifically condemn HAMAS, Hezbollah, and ISIS in writing. Nor would he recognize Israel’s right to exist.

But he gave me the typical bullcrap you typically get from Muslims trying to snow you. They are the aggrieved and the persecuted, and we are the persecutors and perpetrators for asking them questions they don’t want to answer truthfully in writing and on the record. So, instead, they will act all persecuted and sympathetic, and tell us how their friends are Jewish [“I have so many friends of Jewish”], and all the other halal baloney. Yadda, yadda, yadda, blah, blah, blah, we are the world, we are the children. Nice fertilizer, though somebody else does the lawn here.

But he would NOT condemn ISIS. He would not condemn HAMAS. He would not condemn Hezbollah. And he would not recognize Israel’s right to exist.

So, sue me if you don’t like it that I’m not shedding a single tear for this torched-out pizza shop owner who won’t condemn groups that torch businesses–and people, including Christians, Jews, and fellow Muslims–on a daily, or rather, hourly, basis. He wants our sympathy for his claim that Black race rioters torched his shop (a claim of which I’ve seen zero proof and am not convinced has any veracity to it). But he has no sympathy for the victims of the Islamic terrorist groups he supports who regularly do this to others–Jews, Christians, other Muslims.

What goes around comes around. And that applies to extremist Muslim (redundant phrase) pizza shop owners.

So sad, too bad. Alhamdilullah [praise allah] for the poetic justice in it all.

Congrats, Essam El Ghannam. Your pizza is officially halal in all senses of the word.

Exit Question: how long ’til FOX News does an update on Essam El Ghannam and actually does its homework (ie., real journalism), like I did?

Answer: Never. So you can stop holding your breath now.

Great work! Though just for the heck of it, I would have asked him if he or one of his buddies torched the joint. And also remind him to stop lying on his menu about his “pepperoni” toppings that aren’t real pepperoni, given his halal menu–which he doesn’t put on his menu either.

Some of his best friends are Jews?

Unfortunately, that will almost certainly become a more and more common rationalization for totalitarians who want to see Israel destroyed.

More and more Jews are supporting the BDS movement. Establishment Jewish organizations by and large either support the Iran pact/treaty explicitly, or else implicitly by refusing to attack it. So given the large number of self-hating Jews, it would not be a surprise that some of this creep’s best friends are Jews. But what kind of Jews?

Little Al on June 1, 2015 at 4:57 pm

Halal Jews – if you mean the Jewish wing of Hamas, JVP, you’d be right.

There are Jews who are spear carriers for Islamic jihad.

NormanF on June 1, 2015 at 5:03 pm

Debbie,

He is Muslim – and how in the world is pizza halal? Pork after all, is a no-no for Muslims as its for Jews.

Then again, he is a hypocrite who will take gladly take infidel dollars to further jihad.

Which sounds right up his alley.

And yup, pretty much all of them are as extreme as he turned out to be.

NormanF on June 1, 2015 at 5:00 pm

How is pizza with “pork” halal? Easy, Norman. By lying.

I’ve explained this before, but I’ll cut and paste how this is so again:

——————-
{A]lthough Papa Pizza may say on their menu that they offer products with “ham,” do not assume that those products actually are ham. I know that sounds strange, but there are halal restaurants that list ham or pork products on their menus, but they’re not actually selling those products.

Here’s a cut-and-paste of someone who researched such a case:

“Donair is a restaurant in Saskatoon which serves sandwiches and pizza. Although their website doesn’t mention it, they are a halal restaurant. They are listed on the Saskatoon Muslim Foundation website as well as a halal site. Saskatoon has a growing Muslim population and I’m sure that there is growing demand for halal restaurants and groceries.”

“Whether a restaurant is halal or not most likely doesn’t matter to non-Muslims. I don’t care if the beef or chicken is halal or not although I’d rather not pay extra for halal if I have a choice.”

“In this situation, the halal designation does matter because the restaurant sells pizza and their toppings include ham, sausage, pepperoni, and bacon. Or should I say “ham”, “sausage”, “pepperoni”, and “bacon”? It’s all fake.”

“Here’s the explanation straight from the owner via an e-mail forwarded to me:

I think some misunderstanding about my business may have arisen because I have advertised “ham” toppings on certain pizzas. I want to assure you that this “ham” topping is actually composed of beef and chicken. This “ham” topping is a common name given to synthetic ham. This topping is mostly advertised towards the non-Muslims who frequent my business because most non-Muslims are expecting some sort of ham toppings on their pizza. However, I would like to fully assure the Muslim community of Saskatoon, that the “ham” and “pepperoni” that I sell are synthetic and are actually made of halal beef and halal chicken. This practise [sic] of selling halal pepperoni and halal ham are common practise [sic] in cities with larger Muslim communities. This is done so that a halal business can remain competitve [sic] with non-Muslim businesses. I regret not clearing this topic earlier, but I had assumed that the Muslims in Saskatoon would already be familiar with this concept.”

“Did you understand that? The halal restaurant calls the meat products ham and bacon and pepperoni so that non-Muslims will think that they are getting the real thing. Muslims will know the truth *wink, wink*.”

“The owners of this restaurant should clearly state on their menus that all products are made of beef and chicken. They should let their customers know that the ham and bacon are not real. Anything less than full disclosure is lying to their customers.”

Response from Debbie:
RA: Exactly. There are Muslim-owned halal pizzerias in the Detroit-area that advertise ham and pepperoni toppings when those toppings are actually halal beef. DS

Deb:

He MIGHT condemn ISIS, HAMAS and Hezbollah. He MIGHT recognize Israel’s right to exist.

He demonstrates a typical Muslim-American attitude. He probably has a positive attitude toward the questions you ask, but he refuses to put it in writing where it will be broadcast far and wide. Had you called him on the phone, he would have condemned all the bad guys and told you he recognizes Israel. And you know what we all know: talk is cheap.

When it comes to pillaging a neighborhood, nobody does like the Ikhwan and Hezbollah. Essam El Ghannam is more than likely aware of that. With that in mind, he should have shown opposition to the Ikhwan and Hezbollah even if he didn’t have sympathy for Israel’s existence.

But no! He couldn’t even do that.

OK! I don’t like the fact that Muslims hate Jews, but Muslim anti-Semitism has been around for a long time.

OK! I don’t like the fact that Muslims hate Christians, but Muslims have discriminating against Christians (when they weren’t expanding their empire over Christian lands) for a long time.

But now, we have ISIS, HAMAS and Hezbollah killing Muslims for not being Muslime ENOUGH. How sick is THAT!

How sick is a person who can’t condemn it!

If the guy couldn’t recognize Israel, I’d get it. He was raised like that and old habits are hard to break. But this warring between Muslims is so sick and beyond imagination that he should have been able to at least get 2-out-of-3 of your questions right.

Therefore, even though I tend to give people (even Muslims) the benefit of the doubt, the email exchange you posted suggests that you are correct in your conclusion.

Essam El Ghannam did not respond in a manner that deserves special consideration as a “victim of prejudice”.

There is NO Santa Claus on June 1, 2015 at 8:52 pm

It was a “loaded question” that you’ve asked him DS, but it was worth the loaded question that you’ve asked him about globally policies.

Speaking of ISIS, Hamas and Hezbollah, I’ve seen a handful of Muslims in the past made the “No True Scotsman” logical-fallacy of these Islamic-terrorists groups of: “they’re not Muslims, they’ve hijacked and perverted Islam, Islam means peace ad nauseam”. Whereas in truth, those terrorists groups are indeed “Islamic” and the perpetrators happen to be “Muslims”, they’ve done their horrible and anti-humanity deeds in the guise of their ideological-faith.

Oh and BTW, the same Muslims who in the past made such No True Scotsman argumentation have said that they don’t recognize Israel as a free-sovereign Democratic nation and wants to see Israel eradicated from society like typical Islamic neocon warmongers. So, I’m not surprised that this gentlemen refused to answer question about Islamic terrorism and Israel Ms. Schlussel!

Sean R. on June 1, 2015 at 11:47 pm

Sean, I’ve got to call you out on your comment that Debbie asked a “loaded question.” A “loaded question” by its nature isn’t a straightforward question; but rather, is one containing an unfounded assumption. The example that is commonly cite for such a question is “When have you stopped beating your wife?”–which contains the unfounded assumption that the person being questioned is a wife beater.

What could be more straightforward than asking the following:

“Will you condemn HAMAS, ISIS, Hezbollah?”
“Do you recognize Israel’s right to exist?”

In fact, neither question even contains an assumption, let alone an unfounded one. Nor does either question even contain the slightest element of bias.

Maybe you’re more broadly interpreting the meaning of a “loaded question” to be one that merely contain a controversial component? But that doesn’t hold much water because I don’t think there’s any controversial component in either question. And, in any event, El Ghannam was free to give a “no” response and to write his reasons for each response if he felt that further explanation was necessary. But he didn’t do that, and we all know why he didn’t respond in writing.

Ralph Adamo on June 2, 2015 at 12:51 am

Ralph Adamo, thanks for correcting me on my little error about the “loaded question” logical fallacy.

You’re right, Debbie didn’t use a conjecture when she asked this man a simple yes or no questionnaire, she simply asked him where he precisely stands on specific worldly issues about Israel, Hamas, ISIS, Hezbollah, etc. She (Ms. Schlussel) didn’t asked him, “so sir, have you been raising your hand towards your wife lately or anytime in your life?”, had DS said that, then it would’ve been a loaded question fallacy. So once again buddy, thanks for pointing out my flaw of that certain logical flawed argument.

      Sean R. on June 2, 2015 at 1:54 pm

I ate at a muslim-owned diner in Detroit in ’91 and found an insect leg in my food. The owner tried to say it was spice.

I remember there were two white girls in one of my classes who had hooked up with muslim boyfriends and they would shriek “allah akbar” and other incongruent things. There were also quite a few muzzes at UM Dearborn, but was before things were out of control like they are now, 25 years later.

Anyway, I knew enough then to avoid muzz eateries and have gone to great lengths since then to avoid giving a muslim one penny of my money. They sicken me.

DS_ROCKS! on June 2, 2015 at 2:15 am

It is hardly surprising. I do feel sorry for other business owners in Baltimore.

Worry on June 2, 2015 at 3:58 pm

The one thing that strikes me about Muzzies – being the taqqiya practitioners that they are – is why can’t they simply lie and say yes to both of Debbie’s questions? Before taking the next flight to Istanbul en route to Raqqa or Tadmur?

I’d be suspicious of El Ghannam even if he said yes to both the questions.

Ralph, it would seem they can have a pizzeria w/o pepperoni – they just need beef or chicken. Although I have a tough time imagining a Muzzie shop offering veg toppings like mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, et al

Infidel on June 2, 2015 at 7:36 pm

CT, you start out with one question and then mutate to an entirely different question, neither of which are relevant to the questions that Debbie asked. Israel is a unique situation that does indeed require a homeland specifically for the Jewish people. Although anti-Semites such as yourself have great difficulties comprehending this concept, especially given your preference for the extirpation of the Jewish people, it is precisely because of people like you that Israel needs to exist as a Jewish State.

We’re just letting Celestia et al have orgasms with their keyboards.

JayPee on June 4, 2015 at 2:00 pm

Ordinarily I would ignore anything AA, CT, or whatever name s/he uses, but because readers here may not be familiar with the USS Liberty case, I will address his/her/it’s question, “Do you or do you not condemn the attack on the USS Liberty and the bombing of the King David Hotel?”

Unlike Debbie’s questions, this question is a loaded question that cannot be answered with a yes or no. I have already explained what a loaded question is above, but I’ll repeat it. A loaded question is a question that contained an unfounded assumption. The example that is commonly cited for such a question is “When have you stopped beating your wife?”–which contains the unfounded assumption that the person being questioned is a wife beater. In the instant question, the unfounded assumption implicit in the word “condemn” is that Israel must have intentionally attacked the USS Liberty, as opposed to a tragic accident. But the evidence overwhelmingly establishes that the assumption that Israel deliberately attacked the USS Liberty is not only unfounded, but false.

Thus, question as stated cannot be answered yes or no. In contrast, Debbie’s questions can be answered yes or no because they not only do not contain unfounded assumptions, but they contain no assumptions at all. Of course, Debbie is an attorney and she knows a thing or two about how to properly ask question, whereas the person posing the instant question–who claims to be a former trial attorney–is asking questions of the “When did you stop beating your wife” variety–which would, of course, be laughed out of court.

Now for some background on why the person’s assumption is unfounded and false.

The case s/he refers to happened about 48 years ago, in 1967, during the “Six-Day War.” The USS Liberty manned by U.S. sailors and National Security Agency (NSA) personnel made the mistake of coming too close to the shores of the Sinai Peninsula. The U.S. ambassador to the UN declared that no American ships were within 400 miles of the conflict. And, in fact, the NSA issued orders to pull the ship away from the shore, but because of communications snafus, the orders tragically arrived days later. On June 8, 1967, Israeli planes and torpedo boats attacked the ship, leaving 34 crewmen dead and 177 wounded, believing the ship to be Egyptian. When the Israelis learned what had actually happened, they immediately informed the Americans, apologized and paid compensation to the victims’ families.

On the face of it, the notion that Israel would have deliberately attacked a US ship is absurd. But the case was fully investigated, nonetheless. Top-secret documents were released by America’s National Security Agency that confirm that Israel’s sinking of the USS Liberty was an accident. The documents are a transcript of conversations held by two Israeli Air Force helicopter pilots who were hovering over the Liberty as it was sinking. An American spy plane recorded their conversations, which refer to a search for Egyptian survivors from the “Egyptian warship” that had just been bombed. Israel has always said it attacked the Liberty, which America sent to the region to gather intelligence on the progress of the war, because it believed it was an Egyptian supply ship ferrying supplies to the Egyptian troops that Israel was then fighting, Ha’aretz reports.

One important top-secret NSA document in the U.S. National Archives is entitled “Attack on the USS Liberty” (SRH-256). The 77-page brief, declassified in 1983, concludes: “Reexamination of Israel’s explanation of why its air and naval forces attacked the Liberty reveals egregious errors in both command judgments and operational procedures.”

Consequently, the evidence overwhelmingly supports the conclusion that Israel’s attack on the USS Liberty was an accident and was not intentional.

So, let’s rephrase the question to remove the loading:

“Do you regret Israel’s attack on the USS Liberty?”

The question can now be answered: “Yes.”

In stark contrast to the USS Liberty case, there is the USS Cole bombing by Muslims on October 12, 2000, where 17 American sailors were killed, and 39 were injured. We know this act was intentional because al-Queda claimed responsibility for the attack. This is but one case. But I could cite dozens more of deliberate attacks by Muslims on US military personnel and civilians.

Now, CT, AA, or whatever you call yourself, go back to Stormfront, DavidDuke.com, Loonwatch, or whatever hole you crawled out of, and get lost.
