Flight Attendants v. Nicole Kidman on Sharia – Grp Has History of Opposing PC Jihad
Give the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) credit for calling actress Nicole Kidman out on her willingness to serve as the spokeschick for Sharia Airlines. Longtime readers of this site won’t be surprised by this as the flight attendants group has been on the right side of these issues and has a history of not being PC.
Kidman is now the official spokespimp for Etihad Airlines, the state-owned airline of the Israel-boycotting, sharia-compliant United Arab Emirates (UAE). Her “work” for Etihad includes provocative, decidedly un-Islamic pics of her uber-botoxified, mega-resilined self on a bed. And the APFA rightly chastised her for it. You gotta give them props for this, as most unions would choose the politically correct path and not say a thing to criticize or imply criticism of the Islamic way of life:
The Assn. of Professional Flight Attendants say her UN work is at odds with what the group says is poor treatment of women by Etihad and the United Arab Emirates, where men are allowed to physically discipline their wives. The APFA must respectfully ask that you — as a leading advocate for women around the globe — not lend your voice, your image and your good name to Etihad Airways, the second-largest airline in the UAE,” the flight attendants said in an open letter to Kidman.
The APFA is also upset–and rightfully so–about an issue that’s been in the business pages of the news lately: Homeland Security provides Etihad with Customs inspections of passengers at the gate in the UAE (rather than when they land in the U.S.), something it doesn’t provide to many American-based airlines flying out of other countries. That part, of course, wasn’t mentioned in the story linked above.
As I noted on this site almost a decade ago, APFA issued a press release in support of a movie review column I wrote about a politically correct Jodi Foster movie, “Flight Plan,” in which Muslims are the unfairly-accused suspects when actual sabotage on a plane was committed by the Federal Air Marshal and a flight attendant who are in cahoots. Because, just a few years after 9/11 (this happened in 2005), everybody knew that Muslims would never terrorize or hijack a plane. Only flight attendants and Federal Air Marshals would do that. Right? The APFA called for a boycott of the movie based on my review.
And there’s another angle to this that isn’t in any press releases or news stories and you won’t read about it anywhere else: Nicole Kidman is something of an Arabist, beyond her spokespimping of Etihad. And it has to do with her biggest starring role this year, playing a Jew-hater who opposed the establishment of Israel in a very positive silver screen portrayal. I’ll be writing more about that later. Stay tuned.
Exit Question: hey, Nicky, why aren’t you wearing a niqab or a burqa in those ads?

Good question.
It reveals that Muslims don’t insist on Islamic modesty when trying to attract Western dupes into flying to their countries.
Sharia is infinitely flexible when it serves Muslim interests.
They’re not as principled as their apologists make them out to be.
