BREAKING NEWS: Bush to Give Unqualified Julie Myers RECESS APPOINTMENT as Immigration Chief

By
Inside sources tell me that President Bush will give his unqualified nominee, , a recess appointment to head up Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE). Bush has chosen the nuclear option at the cost of doing the right thing on this incompetent nominee.
Julie Myers, age 36, does not meet even the most basic qualifications to head up the key immigration and money-laundering enforcement agency in the U.S. We’ve learned that, due to that and other politics, several Democrat and Republican Senators have placed a hold on Myers’ nomination, and it will not be voted on anytime soon. Even if Myers is voted upon, her nomination–due to her absolute lack of experience and suitability for the position–faces a tough vote.

Myers Nomination is Latest Bad Sitcom at Immigration Agency

The Bush Administration, rather than properly withdraw this poorly chosen nominee–and rather than face the prospect of a losing vote or no vote at all–will kowtow to incompetent DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff (to whose Chief of Staff Myers is married) and grant a recess appointment to Myers. It doesn’t exactly speak of confidence in this pitiful nominee.
ICE agents–who come from both the former INS and Customs Service–disagree on many things, but they are united in opposition to Myers. Giving Myers a recess appointment is even worse, because she will be a lame duck, as her recess appointment will expire at the end of 2006.
As one high-ranking career ICE agent told me:
“She gets the job for 12 months (which is about how long she’s held every other job in her life, on her checklist to a judgeship or US Attorney job) and then moves on. If she gets this position, an already vulnerable, dysfunctional agency will be further brought to its knees, as we are already in functional paralysis. ICE (and this administration) truly stands for ‘IN CHAPTER ELEVEN’, morally and ethically BANKRUPT!”
I could not have said it better. To recap Myers’ “qualifications”:
1) She for the job;
2) Makes fabulous ;
3) Sleeping with DHS Secretary’s Chief of Staff; and
4) Niece of a prominent retired general.
It is not known whether the “glorious” appointment will occur over the Thanksgiving or Christmas break. Either way, ICE agents are NOT looking forward to this holiday “gift” from the President–and Americans concerned with security shouldn’t be either.
We’ve previously noted that is more qualified for the position than Myers. We stand by that, though we can’t help thinking that this stinker reminds us of a bad sit-com. If it weren’t so sad, it would be funny.

Abu Moskowitz & Hamadafat Are Another Bad ICE Sitcom

In related ICE news, we wonder why the FBI is now investigating a U.S. Navy marriage fraud scam in New York–clearly ICE territory. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that, since there is no leader at the helm of ICE, the inmates–such as ICE Special Agent in Charge (a/k/a “Abu Moskowitz”)–are running the asylum–and, in Moskowitz’s case, running far away from marriage fraud investigations that involve his beloved extremist Muslims. In fact, instead of urging his agents to investigate marriage fraud, Abu M is hanging out with a marriage fraud perpetrator–“former” Islamic terrorist and FBI award revokee, –whom he has reportedly invited to break pita at the Bloomfield Hills Moskowitz abode (on several occasions, we’re told).
With the Julie Myers appointment, expect more of the same. Or worse.

Just the latest in the WTF did I ever think Bush could cut it? I have joined the “why should I ever vote Republican again” club. Bury them, they are proving they are NFG.

Will Julie Myers get a recess appointment?

The cronyism of the Bush administration would be comic if it weren’t so bad for the country. As previously discussed, Bush nominated Julie Myers to head the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement bureau. She’s the…

Good For Pryor, Bad For Myers

What’s good for the gander (Bill Pryor) is very, very bad for the goose — or in this case, a turkey (Julie Myers).
