Obama State Dept Punishes Israeli NBA Player, Delays Visa, Nixing NBA Job; No Such Probs w Muslim Players
More anti-Israel baloney typical of the Obama State Department. The Obamaniks delayed the visa renewal of Israeli NBA player Gal Mekel. Then, they refused to speed it up, causing him to lose the NBA job. They didn’t do this with any of the Muslim foreign nationals who play in the NBA. It’s disgusting, but oh so predictable and unsurprising.
First there was the delay:
Gal Mekel, waived by the Mavericks, planned to sign with the Pacers in order to fill Indiana’s massive void at point guard. George Hill, C.J. Watson and Rodney Stuckey are all injured. Donald Sloan played 43 minutes last night. Yeah, it’s desperate. But there’s a hitch with Mekel.
Marc Stein of ESPN:
Because of a procedural delay in securing new visa for a foreign player, Pacers’ plan to sign PG Gal Mekel has been thrown into jeopardy. Pacers flew Mekel to Boston yesterday in anticipation of signing him today because Indy’s waiver from NBA to sign 16th player expires today. But procedural issues could prevent Mekel from securing new P1 Visa until Friday, potentially forcing Indy to sign a different player today. Must say: How a visa issue like this could scuttle a signing, in a league with a hundred foreign-born players, is rather hard to comprehend
And then there was the absolute refusal of a visa for Mekel:
Sources told ESPN.com that the Pacers, after flying Mekel to Boston on Wednesday so he could meet the team there Thursday, pulled out of a deal to sign the Israeli point guard upon learning that his visa that allows him to play in the NBA likely would not be renewed until Friday in the wake of his recent release by the Dallas Mavericks.
With a hardship waiver from the league allowing the injury-hit Pacers to sign a 16th player reportedly expiring Thursday, sources say that Indiana decided it couldn’t wait any longer to see if Mekel’s new visa could be fast-tracked.
Yup, on a regular basis, we let Islamic extremists who support terrorism into the U.S. But an Israeli basketball player, nope.
By the way, there were 101 foreign nationals playing in the NBA when the season began at the end of October. Of those, there were seven Muslim foreign national NBA players, three from Bosnia and four from Turkey. Do you think the State Department gave them any problems with their visas? Think again.
I have a suggestion for Mekel: convert to Islam and praise ISIS or Hezbollah. Then, your visa will be sped up.
Well, I know that a handful on the political right-wing have in the past have dismissed Obama as a “Muslim”, “Arab”, etc., according to my epistemological knowledge, I have yet to find evidence to match this. However though, there’s been evidence that Obama’s administration has been influenced by Arab and Islamic interest, where Obama’s placated to the Arabs (Bush’s administration did the precise samething as well, hell, Bush said that: “Islam is the religion of peace”), so I’m not too stunned with this story of not letting this Israeli-national basketball player into not only in the NBA, but in the country by recognizing US immigration laws.
