Homeland “Security” Denies Airport Border Guards/Inspectors Flu Shots

By
You’d think the government would want to keep safe those who try to keep our borders safe. But you would be wrong.
Customs and Border Protection Agents, inspecting foreigners at airports and land borders nationwide, tell me that the Federal government is providing Avian flu shots only to TSA screeners–not to them.
This is absurd. CBP agents at airports typically encounter passengers from several foreign flights a day, including flights from Asia. They handle and examine the aliens’ documents (and even their bags and belongings), which are carriers of all kinds of germs, including the Avian flu.

DHS Insecurity: Why Won’t Secretary Burns Give Border Guards Flu Shots?

Why TSA screeners would receive these flu shots, when they are at far less risk, and the CBP agents are refused, is a mystery. CBP agents have far more contact with foreigners than do TSA employees. In fact, aliens are the vast majority of CBP contacts. Another mystery is where all the billions in Homeland Security tax money are going, if our government cannot afford shots for our agents who need them.
It’s a matter of our security against invasion by illegal aliens. And, yet again, the government and DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff (a/k/a “Mr. Burns”)–who is ultimately to blame for the lack of shots to CBP officers–are failing us.

Customs and Border Protection Agents don’t get flu shots because there is no cure for government bureacrats afflicted with brain farts.

Debbie I bet these ICE/FBI higher ups hate this site almost as much as the Islamic Jidahists they coddle. I have to wonder if your criticism of Abu M. doesn’t in a way make him a bit of a hero to his fellow weasels. Either way he seems to be doing his masters’ bidding.

When the Avain shot is the only bit of defence. And projections so that when it really hits the U.S. the idea of handing the front line workers a peace of paper to go over your face and say go to work (Paper Mask)they will not go to work .This is already studied. The Homeland folks don’t look that far ahead(but I bet they go to lots of meeting in Vegas over this issue and others).
