CHA-CHING!: Catholic Church Gets Multi-Millions from US Govt for Helping Illegal Alien “Kids”

By Debbie Schlussel

If your Catholic priest is singing the virtues of illegal alien “kids” in America, it’s for good venal reason: the Catholic Church is getting at least $9 million from the U.S. government to help illegal alien “youths” stay in America for life. Cha-ching!

obamabush

illegalalienssmaller2.jpgmuslimgivingthefinger.jpg

The Catholic Church in America has long been a proponent of illegal aliens, as it has been at the forefront of far-left “liberation theology” (something that faux-conservative Glenn Beck also espouses along with the illegal alien “kids”). And it pays off to purport to care about the poor illegals: it makes you rich! The U.S. government announced it will give the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Catholic Charities, and the Catholic Legal Immigration Network millions to pay for legal help for the illegal alien kiddies to stay here. But, don’t worry, these Catholic “charities” will take their cut.

Yes, you pay for the lawyers for illegal alien “youths” to fight the other lawyers you pay for (in the U.S. government) who are purporting to fight to deport them. And in the process you get to fund a church that you might not even be a member of. Only in America. I can just hear the imams bumming out that they, too, didn’t get in on the action.

The Obama Administration Santa Clauses are handing out the dough. And don’t forget that the Bush Administration Willy Wonkas lobbied for and signed the law that gave the golden ticket of entry to these illegal alien kids and made it nearly impossible to deport them. (Congress unanimously passed that law.) So, remind me again how Republicans and Democrats are different? They both screw us.

The Obama Administration announced Tuesday that it will pick up the bill for immigration attorneys who will be assigned to unaccompanied children from Central America and elsewhere who are stopped at the U.S. border. . . . The program starts today and will be funded with $9 million over the next two years. In all, the funds are estimated to be enough to pay for lawyers for more than 2,600 children. . . .

Federal law requires that custody of the children from non-contiguous states — in other words, those who are not from Mexico or Canada — be transferred from the border patrol to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services within 72 hours.

Yes, that fabulous law the Bushies bragged about lobbying for and passing and for which George W. Bush held a grinning, gushing signing ceremony!

But few of those children have the funds to pay for attorneys, and there is no right to public counsel for non-citizens in immigration hearings. The Catholic Church and other advocates for immigrants have urged lawyers to volunteer, and many have done so throughout the country. The $9 million in funding will pay for legal representation for about 1,222 children this year, and the balance in the coming year, spokesman Kenneth Wolfe said Tuesday.

The money will be added to existing grants for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Virginia-based U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. Those organizations work with Catholic Charities and the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, on the one hand, and the Immigrant Child Network, on the other.

Wolfe said those agencies in turn will draw down the money on a first-come, first-come basis as they represent children in immigration proceedings. The cities where the money will be available are Los Angeles, Houston, Miami, Memphis, New Orleans, Phoenix, Dallas and the greater Washington, D.C. area, including Arlington, Va., and Baltimore.

America . . . we pay for our long-term suicide. Thank you, Catholic Church for helping us down that road.

If you are Catholic, you might wanna hold back the next time the collection plate is passed around in church. After all, you already gave in your taxes. And they took the money to help destroy your country slowly and painfully.

I guess the Muslims will get money to defend all the, uh, refugees from Syria, Iraq, Somalia, Gaza etc, etc,

Hmm, this is all “corporatism” in a nutshell of the RCC doing business with the federal government and shilling for illegal-immigration.

Here’s my take on this topic, it’s clearly impossible to deport all of the 11-25 million illegal-aliens in our midst. If these folks REALLY want to become citizens (I’m not looking at those who are here only for the dollar and are apathetic and indifferent about this country and don’t want to learn to speak English and are indifferent on becoming US citizens), my conscious metaphysical stance is this, they can become citizens if they serve at least four-years in the US Armed Forces, or earning a college degree, and also if they’re working, then they “must” pay yearly income-taxes.

And I also agree with you in the middle of the source DS, that both political parties clearly want illegal-immigration for this nation, more for I believe for “cheap-labor”?

Impossible to deport all the illegals, you say? You need to spend some time reflecting on that magical black butt of Obama and then repeat after me: YES! WE! CAN!!!!

Or you could think about John Kerry and do things the “smart way” – flying around on a magic carpet with a Santa bag chock-full of John-Kerrysmart metasolutions – no tradeoffs or costs, and EVERYBODY wins.

After all these centuries, it’d be nice if the Roman church considered something to be more important than money.

And all in the name of a Jew who had nothing.

Liberals have moved a long way. Just a few years ago, all we heard about were the accusations of child abuse against priests who came in contact with minors.

Apparently the support of the Catholic Church for open borders and associated welfare has trumped this concern of the liberals. The yelling and screaming of liberals regarding the issue of abuse of minors by Catholic priests does not seem to extend to concerns about possible dangers to the unaccompanied ‘minors’ crossing the border who will undoubtedly be in contact with various levels of the Catholic hierarchy, including, of course, priests.

Little Al on October 1, 2014 at 5:02 pm

Well they are different but I’ll leave that to your imagination.
Many Catholics have long been Obama saps but not all. Glad I’m not Catholic but the rest of the bunch don’t travel far from the apple tree. Probably worse in fact. I think Mormons are in on the action but can’t remember. Might be incorrecto on that.
You’re sadly right about Beck. Could go down the line on him but I’ll let him reinvent himself and Jesus on daily basis by himself. Oh, yeah thanks for that.

As for Bush who cares? If they elect another one it’s all over anyway

The pope has traveled to the mediterranean islands to welcome the African diaspora coming to Europe. The long term plans for the Catholic Church is made clear in his actions. Hold on to your horses.

thanks for the information. I did not know this.

Step 1: Secure the Mexican US border. Simpson-Mazzoli was passed in 1986 and we were told that would solve the problem of illegal immigration. The government cannot be trusted.

bobguzzardi on October 1, 2014 at 6:23 pm

I am Catholic, and that’s why I only support my local parish and particular ministries that I know are truly Catholic and not liberal social work organizations like Catholic Charities and Catholic Relief Services. Unfortunately the chanceries of most dioceses in this country (and western Europe) have been taken over by what Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI has called “professional Catholics” who are Catholic in name only, and many of the bishops have allowed or caused this to happen because of their own liberal leanings.

Ron Zermeno is a border patrol agent whistleblower. He told the whole story of the Murietta fiasco, which featured thousands of “children” and other illegals destined to be housed in ridiculously crowded and squalid facilities. Most were infested with vermin and infected with disease. One TB infected child was coughing up blood all over officers and other illegals.

The border patrol infiltrated the protesters with plain clothes agents (is that even legal?), and left parts of the California border wide open while the operations were being conducted. Drug gangs poured huge shipments over the border during this time.

adam on October 1, 2014 at 6:57 pm

The reason the Catholic Church is pro illegal immigration, aside from the money (important that it is) is that it would help convert the US from a predominantly Protestant country to a Catholic one.

After all, the biggest immigration group to the US is Mexicans, and the bulk of them – not counting Atheists – would be Catholics. So in the long term, if Hispanics become the majority, guess what? So would Catholics. That’s what the US Catholic Church would want, as it would make them far more influential in the Vatican.

I don’t condone what they do, but I can see that what’s good for the Catholic Church in the US is not necessarily good for the US.

Also an investment for the future by finding new asses to put in the pews. Not only money from the government now, but also from the kids when they grow up and become parishioners.

CornCoLeo on October 1, 2014 at 9:50 pm

I can imagine Father Jonathan Morris droning on about the virtue of such programs, Of course, what is not mentioned is how these people will drain away resources away from citizens and those here legally who are in need as well.

Worry01 on October 2, 2014 at 2:14 am

No doubt that we are in a liberal cycle in the Catholic hierarchy. But, it is also true that with notable exceptions, actual mass-attending Catholics do not love nor support their local bishop.

The weekly collection primarily supports the local parish, and depending on how much people like their parish priest, they will donate.

As to Hispanics even being nominally Catholic anymore….please! Can we retire that meme, already? Go to any fast food place on any Friday during Lent, and see how many Hispanics are ordering the fish sandwich.

The Church—like every other large institution these days—has gone liberal. Nothing more than a fad which will pass.

Prometheus on October 2, 2014 at 8:24 am

“If you are Catholic, you might wanna hold back the next time the collection plate is passed around in church. After all, you already gave in your taxes. ”
…we only give directly to our parish Priests. NOTHING to the “church” anymore. Amen.
Catholic Charities turned rabid for illegals during ’04/’05 when they shifted nearly ALL of their funds towards “legal defense” for illegals. I forget exact year, but when they couldn’t even fund travel-as they had for years-for Catholics to attend Pro-Life marches because funds went to “legal defense” I said, “Adios amigo.”
Funny thing, the 4th Degree of the Knights of Columbus is “Patriotism.” The irony? A member is not to speak of “politics” during gatherings. Hmmm, funny, most of the KOC hierarchy are retired northerners (NJ/NY/CT/PA/MA/MD) in my area. Retired union representatives…Police/FD/GM/Teamsters etc. Hmmm get the picture?? “Our” Bishop Lynch (Diocese of St. Petersburg) is 110% “professional Catholic,” and his office directed my family to “Casa de Maria” when we wanted to provide “sanctuary” for refugees for Middle Eastern Catholics fleeing things like…um let’s see..hmm…crucifixions, rape, murder, slavery, abandonment… When I was connected to Tampa office of Refugees, and sought information, the woman on the other end of the phone spoke such broken “English”I had to say *click*. Fill the church my ass…they have SEPERATE masses for crying outloud!! Then the “church” uses spiritual extortion by quoting something from Leviticus…”treat outsiders who reside in our land as citizens…” tripe.. The church seems to selectively omit the ones about, “Thou shall not bear false witness,” “Thou shall not covet,” “Thou shall not steal,” “Thou shall keep the Sabbath holy.” I seem to recall one about someone throwing the “money changers” OUT of the Temple…
…and the current man voted Pope is a silver tongued Communist. …i’ll do penance later.

    @Sick_Boy–

Good stuff. Fr. Leonard Feeney spoke out about all this…and more, including homos in the priesthood, way back in the 1940s. Got him into plenty of trouble.

Prometheus on October 2, 2014 at 3:14 pm

The catholic church is not the christian church. There’s a major difference in the interpretation of doctrine and practices. The catholic church is fast falling into apostasy and will represent the church during the one world government and end time prophecy events. You’re right about both political parties – neither one represents the will of the people and Bush started the ball of a once-great America rolling downhill, making it easier for Obama to push us into a pit and begin to bury US by selling our sovereignty to global control. Even the so-called conservative republicans, who are speaking out so vociforously now that the elections are upon us, were quiet and did nothing for 6 years to support their rhetoric of today. Finally, it is NOT impossible to depart ALL of these illegal immigrants, given the wealth of resources and money being spent to keep them here.

The Catholic church has more money than…well, G-d. Even Apple. If they want to sponsor, aid and abet, help illegals continue to break the law, let them do it on their dime, not mine. I won’t even go into the conspiracy theory about them wanting to keep little boys and girls here….

WilliamMunny on October 2, 2014 at 12:58 pm

Why is the Catholic church taking money from the US government when they are rich beyoind imagination?

My opinion is that they are not following Jesus teachings.

Jesus said “I am the way…”

The Catholic Church has become secularized to the point of being just another leech on and advocate for the evil G_dless US government.

As for what Debbie said about they already got it from you, she means the taxes you pay go for HUGE tax breaks to The Catholic Church

Everyone wants a piece of the illegal aliens for $$ or their own proliferation. It’s disgusting. Those greedies and slobs seem to never take into account what comes with the illegal aliens. A lot of junk and gimme-gimme comes with ’em. Culture means something

If I still attended Church, I WOULD withhold my donation. I stopped going a few years back when the Priest said to the Congregation that he didn’t mind the loud noise by the “little ones”. I sure did! That’s what the Family Mass is for! We walked out. Why should I go to a Catholic Church when it’s annoying and the own purveyors don’t make it a peaceful experience?

That Priest was soon removed due to child molestaion charges. I don’t know if they were true charges. A friend said no, but he’s been mistaken before.

The idiots that run the Church make it hard for those of us who want to remain Catholic. And I am not a fan of the Pope (the institution, that is) and wonder why it is even there. I dislike it and have never really trusted it. Even when young…

Skunky on October 2, 2014 at 2:26 pm

Thank you Debbie for this chance to vent and thank you Skunky for being here.

Considering that Bishop Charles Thompson said in a return letter to me that Dave Ramsey of the Dave Ramsey Show and I do not have a clear understanding of the Bible, nothing surprises me at all about the Liberalism of the Catholic Church.

Bishop Chobee of Nashville, TN and Bishop Thompson are cut from the same Liberal cloth.

All that I ever hear in a Mainstream Catholic Church sermon, the Gospel, and the Epistle is that G-d, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit do not approve of Money, Wealth, and Prosperity.

Catholic priests are always trying to throw guilt trips upon parishioners for not emptying their wallets for Haitian refugees, the people of Haiti, and anyone South of the border.

All that I ever heard any Nashville priest preach about was that Americans should feel guilty about having money and wealth.

Joseph Stalin has to be rubbing his hands in glee from the 9th Circle of Hell that his minions successfully changed the Catholic Church into a bastion of Marxism. Second Vatican Council was the tipping point in the change.

Confederate on October 2, 2014 at 3:44 pm

So, now there’s a least a three way pact, between: big business, big government, and big church. Each benefits enormously from illegal immigration, so they are naturally going to act in their own self interests. Big business wants a cheap source of labor. Government wants to expand its ever expanding bureaucracy of waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement. And big church sees the opportunity for expanding its followers with illegal immigrants; plus it gets government money to boot. With that power-triangle, illegal immigration will only continue to soar.

Much as I , a Catholic , hate what the bishops are doing, why is there no mention that organized jewish groups have been among the most vociferous in demanding unlimited third world immigration, and have been demanding it for decades? Just another example of this site’s hypocrisy

Jedediah on March 6, 2015 at 9:05 pm

Don’t forget, the church also makes money from these “volunteers” by charging the illegals a 80 dollar consultation fee a piece. This isn’t even covering what they may charge if they take the case!
