Just Got Back From . . .

By Debbie Schlussel

. . . a screening of this, “Inglourious Basterds,” and I’m dying–dying!–to post a review or even a couple of words about it.  But alas, I’m not allowed to until Friday.  Stay tuned for my review, to be posted just after Midnight, early Friday Morning.  The Quentin Tarantino movie was just over 2.5 hours and stars Brad Pitt.

Hmmmm – – – I’m guessing you LIKED the movie?

I’m looking forward to seeing it.

I still haven’t seen “THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PAJAMAS”.

When will that be aired on television, or the Internet?

I did see “DEFIANCE” while I was visiting friends in Utah.

It was a good show, but probably unnecessarily lengthy, or maybe I was just too tired from all that driving.

Still, it was a little known story that needed to be told.

OH, you tease.

KrazyKafir on August 17, 2009 at 4:12 pm

Why I want to know is: why did they spell Basterds with an ‘e’?

JGlanton on August 17, 2009 at 4:18 pm

It’s a way to differentiate this movie with the original movie. The original was sort of a remake of the dirty dozen and sort of a blaxploitation movie, there’s actually 2 versions, the other was cut up to feature Fred Williamson and called GI Bro . It was pretty entertaining, but I think the only thing that the new one resembles is that the time period is WWII.

I been waiting to c Tarentino in the directing realm again…

You can get your synopsis by advance googling the name of the film. I won’t spoil for you, but I am betting everyone will LOVE this film.

I know you would’nt post this if you didn’t like it a lot. Looks a little on the violent side–I have to remember who the violence is directed toward, if I am going to watch it.

The movies about the Nazis continue to proliferate at acclerated rates. I went to see Defiance, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and Valkyrie–all were worthy watches.

It is one of those things we never seem to tire of–contemplating the reality of the horrors of what happened in the Third Reich–and now seeing fancyings of the Nazi bastards (terds) getting their just desserts.

Thank God that the Greatest Generation had the balls to do the right things!!!

Jews killing Nazi’s yay 🙂 🙂 🙂 Also saw boy in the striped pajamas and Defiance and loved them both

Looks like the perfect vehicle for Tarentino’s brand of gratuitous violence.

A pity though that this is a film based on WWII, which was caused by American strongarm tactics. And the stuff about Pearl Harbor…just shows what happens when you have a bunch of foreign offshore bankers and oligarchs running things and not relying on the gold standard and heavy reliance on the illegal federal reserve…

http://www.geocities.com/Pentagon/6315/pearl.html

“8 October – diary entry by Secretary of Interior Harold Ickes: “For a long time I have believed that our best entrance into the war would be by way of Japan.” ”

And when you got through the data, most of which was NOT TAUGHT in schools because of hippies and teachers unions, this conclusion is reached…

“CONCLUSION – ROOSEVELT WAS A TRAITOR

The US was warned by, at least, the governments of Britain, Netherlands, Australia, Peru, Korea and the Soviet Union that a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor was coming. All important Japanese codes were broken. FDR and Marshall and others knew the attack was coming, allowed it and covered up their knowledge. It’s significant that both the the chief of OP-20-G Safford and Friedman of Army SIS, the two people in the world that knew what we decoded, said that FDR knew Pearl Harbor was going to be attacked.

Pearl Harbor was not about war with Japan –

It was about war with GERMANY

Most important was the promise FDR had made to the American people – solemnly given and repeated–not to send their sons into foreign war unless attacked (audio). He did not mind violating that pledge. He merely feared the political effect of the violation. Alsop and Kintner, White House columnist pets, had written a short time before that “He (Roosevelt) does not feel he can openly violate them (his pledges). But he can get around them the smart way.” They explained this meant getting the Germans to shoot first. Then he could shoot back. But it was clear to him by November that the Germans were not going to shoot first. But FDR knew that he could force the Japanese to do so. ”

Obama is capable of doing the same thing–staging some false flag event to distract the nation from exposing the NWO and Obama’s illegal unconstitutional maneuvers.

As I said before about this movie, I think it’s pathetic how Hollywood is brave enough to fight a war that has been over for more than 50 years. but hey can’t muster the nerve to fight the war we are fighting right now!
The Muslim terrorists are just as bad as the Nazis. They are just as hatful, they are just as bloody. why doesn’t Hollywood hate them too?
Why can’t they make a movie set in current times with the “bastards” killing Muslim terrorists?
I would love to see Brad Pitt saying ” I want 100 turbaned scalps”.
I would go see that movie.

S: Great minds think alike. That’s a thought I’ve iterated on this site many times over the last decade and which I was thinking as I watched the movie. DS

More hollywood CRAP, who told him he could direct anything.
Still living off of Pulp Fiction. Ditto to smg45acp!

Looks interesting at least. Looking forward to your review.

It is always the same with these Hollyweird creeps. They get a guy like Pitt who is a pacifist and portray him as a guy who is a bad ass. Jolie’s bitch…err Pitt, was on Bill Maher’s show denouncing religion (Christians), supporting HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE and everything against this country. But Hollyweird can denounce one sort of fascism but continue their own fascism. One reason I don’t watch Hollyweird and its fairy tales that put on the big screen. A real good movie would have been to cast a true American soldier back from Iraq and Afghanistan to portray a soldier. What a concept, get the true bravery and fierceness from someone who actually has put his life on the line for his country. That might be believable. Putting any empty vessel like Pitt to portray a soldier is unbelievable and not worth my time, ever.

Pitt’s love in with Maher. ManLove, they should get a room.

Considering how many Jews died needlessly in WW2 because so many had the hear-no-evil, see-no-evil mentality, I watched this preview intently.

I can HARDLY wait to see it.

Normally, I’m mixed on Quentin Tarantino–BRILLIANT filmmaker and story teller who puts in lots of blood and violence, but in the context of war, this looks good.

Debbie, I’m looking forward to your review. I was just wondering why is it you’re not allowed to post a review until Friday, when today there are hundreds of reviews posted on the internet as of today, 8/18?

M: That’s a great question, and one I ask the studio reps all of the time. I really think these embargoes are unrealistic, anachronistic, and absurd in the internet age, not to mention unfair, but those are the rules, and if I don’t keep ’em, I don’t get to go to screenings ahead of time. DS

Marc on August 18, 2009 at 8:58 pm

why dont they show american scalping islamonazis who want to genocide jews?

shmujew on August 18, 2009 at 9:46 pm

ahh great another propaganda film, hope it tanks like defiance

C: Ah, another Jew-hater. You admitted you hate Jews and don’t see what’s wrong with it on the Bob Novak post comments section. But, hey, at least you are open and honest with your Jew-hatred. Still, while we welcome honesty, we don’t welcome SS/Gestapo member wannabes. Buh-bye. DS

Wasn’t this picture once called THE DIRTY DOZEN?

Miranda Rose Smith on August 19, 2009 at 9:23 am

I’m lost. How is Quentin Tarantino brilliant again? Maybe two “good” movies with nothing but endless pointless dialogue and nothing but “homages” to older movies he likes? Sadly, I’m in the minority to think such things.
