Gee, Whatta Surprise: Lesbian in WNBA

By
Another item sent to me by many readers while I was away was the report that Sheryl Swoopes, star player, has made it official: She’s a lesbian and is endorsing a lesbian cruise line.
Imagine that: Lesbians in the WNBA. No way! You’ve gotta be making this up. I can’t believe it. Really? Lesbians in the WNBA? Who’d have thought such a thing? You’re kidding, right?
Gee, after 30 pants suits and 10 pairs of sensible shoes per player, I’d never have guessed.

Sheryl Swoopes: Admitted Lesbian Amidst Lesbian-Dominated WNBA

Here’s a highlight from this year’s annual :
“Look at the 7’2″ Margo Dydek of Connecticut’s WNBA team – if you dare. . . . They aren’t making a scale version of Dydek Barbie anytime soon. Dyslexic young girls might unscramble the letters of her surname and get the right idea of what the WNBA is really about. That’s the image from which the WNBA is desperately trying to get away. But it’s stuck with it like white on rice (apologies to low-carbers).”

Sheryl probably has a sudden urge for clams.

Also, speaking of WNBA, since it’s a part of the National Basketball Association, I wonder if they’ll let the men play in the WNBA? Is this OK? Or is separate but equal in order?

It’s funny you mention letting men play in the WNBA, oh King of Japs, because I was about to give Debbie a good laugh by sending her an email with this link to a very similar story, but I’ll put it here instead for you and all to see….looks like someone in the pro golf world does have your idea, it’s a good point!

Thanks Hairy, I’m going to pass this on to Tom Leykis. Deb was on Tom’s show awhile back. He likes her and her knowledge on sports.

So that’s why the traffic gets much better in West Hollywood when the Sparks play at Staples Center…
No surprises here. My brother’s got a friend who is not straight and she Loves the WNBA. Trying to find straight women who even know what it is remains challenging.

King, I know this is unrelated to my earlier post here except that it’s an article and it deals with sports, but in a post Deb did a couple of months ago about Detroit as a Super Bowl location, I predicted that the New Orleans Saints would end up in L.A. when all is said and done.
Well, mock me not anymore, note this link….I had heard the story on the radio this morning and searched Google News for such and article:

The article even noted all my points from my earlier comment about why they will not stay in New Orleans nor in San Antonio.
No I don’t work for the NFL, just able to but 2 and 2 together 🙂

That is unless the City council F-it up. They F-everything else up. As for the WNBA and Staples Center, I have no problem driving around Staples before, during and after a game, because, there are no gridlock situation Dairenn, just the bad stench of rotting tuna and a hoard of feral cats converging on the doors of Staple
