EXCLUSIVE: Bankrupt Detroit Spends $$$s on Banners Welcoming Nation of Islam?!

By Debbie Schlussel

A tax-funded Detroit tourism group is spending big bucks to welcome a Black Muslim hate group to the bankrupt city.

This weekend, the racist, anti-Semitic, anti-gay, anti-Asian Nation of Islam has its national convention in the bankrupt City of Detroit. And some Detroit tax money went to pay for several expensive banners posted throughout Detroit Metro Airport welcoming the hate group to the city. See the photo posted below of one of the banners.

DebbieSchlussel.com has learned that the banners were paid for by the tax-funded Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau (DMCVB), an organization that gets most of its funds from taxes. We also learned that the DMCVB is responsible for actively recruiting the Nation of Islam and its loony, anti-Semitic, anti-White, anti-gay, anti-Asian leader, Louis Farrakhan, to bring their convention to Detroit.

The DMCVB is funded by a 2% tax on all hotel and motel stays in the Detroit metropolitan area. If you visit Detroit and stay at any hotel or motel with 35 rooms or more, you are helping to pay to welcome Muslim hate against Whites, Jews, Asians, and gays. The organization, which has no oversight and is completely unaccountable, refused to give me any information regarding the cost of the banners or the group’s policy regarding hate groups it recruits to the city. Unfortunately, even though the group is largely tax-funded, it is not subject to Freedom of Information Act requests. Absurd. The DMCVB is also funded by the hundreds of Detroit-area businesses, including the Bozouki Club (a haggard strip joint), which pay it a membership fee to “promote” Detroit.

In November 1998, I went undercover to the Islamic Center of America–the largest mosque in North America–to hear the anti-Semitic speech of Nation of Islam speaker Louis Farrakhan. I felt like I was at a Nazi rally and had an inkling of how my Holocaust survivor grandparents must have felt in Nazi-infested Europe and anti-Semitic Poland before they were hauled off to the camps. My summary of the openly anti-Semitic Farrakhan speech, which I put in a Detroit News op-ed column, is below, at the end of this post.

When we first learned about these expensive banners hung throughout the Detroit airport and–we’re told–elsewhere in the City, we contacted the DMCVB. I spoke with the extremely rude, evasive DMCVB Communications Director, Renee Monforton and DMCVB employee Xenia Castillo-Hunter, who proudly told me she recruited the Nation of Islam to come to Detroit. Both of them hung up on me, after I repeatedly asked them if they would invite the Ku Klux Klan to Detroit for its national convention and spend money on welcome banners . . . and they repeatedly refused to answer the question.

Here is what happened with my conversation with Ms. Monforton:

Debbie Schlussel: So, did the DMCVB pay for the banners at Detroit Metro Airport welcoming the Nation of Islam?

Tax-Paid Detroit Boosters Xenia Castillo-Hunter & Renee Monforton Luv Anti-White, Anti-Jewish, Anti-Gay, Anti-Asian Nation of Islam

Renee Monforton: Yes, we did. We pay for banners welcoming many groups to the city.

DS: Oh, so if the Klan came to Detroit, you would pay for welcome banners?

RM: No. I’m not going to get into that. We’re not a political group. We don’t take stands on issues.

DS: I didn’t ask you that. I asked you if you would welcome the Klan to the city and pay for banners to be hoisted around the airport welcoming its members. Is there any hate group you wouldn’t welcome to the city?

RM: That group is entirely different from the Nation of Islam.

DS: Really? How so? How, other than skin complexion are these two racist, supremacist groups different?

RM: I’m not going to get into that. We’re not a political group. We welcome all kinds of groups to the city.

DS: Ah, I get it. Black Muslim racist groups, okay. White racists, not okay. Good to know.

RM: I didn’t say that.

DS: Then, what are you saying? Why is it okay for you to spend tax money to welcome a group that calls Jewish houses of worship, “Synagogues of Satan,” that calls White people, “Crackers,” that is anti-gay, that attacks Asians?

RM: I’m not going to answer that. We’re not a political group. You know, I know all about you. You’re a conservative commentator.

DS: Yeah, so? What does that have to do with anything? Or with the Nation of Islam’s hate? Are you saying that because I’m conservative, Louis Farrakhan never said these things, calling Jews “satanists” and attacking Whites and gays? Does my being a conservative make those things disappear and give you the okay to spend tax money welcoming this hate to Detroit?

RM: I’m saying you have an agenda.

DS: I think you have an agenda, and it includes welcoming Black Muslim bigots to Detroit when you know it’s wrong, and you don’t want to answer for it.

RM: I fill hotel beds and bring people to Detroit to spend money. You should be happy about that. [DS: Actually, she does none of those things. She’s an incompetent communications director.]

DS: Well, then, why don’t you fill beds with the Klan and other extremists also to spend money in Detroit. Um, no, I’m not happy about the city taking hate money from the Nation of Islam. So, you don’t have a problem with Louis Farrakhan’s message of hate because he and his minions spend money in Detroit.

RM: I’m not going to get into that. We are not a political organization.

DS: How much did you spend on those banners and how many of them are there?

RM: That’s an internal matter, and I’m not going to tell you that.

DS: Ah, so you don’t think that the taxpayers–the visitors who pay a 2% tax to pay your salary–are entitled to know how much you spent to welcome an anti-Semitic, anti-White, anti-gay group to the city?

RM: No.

DS: Why not?

CLICK!

Yup, the coward with zero basic decency hung up on me.

Next, I spoke with Ms. Hunter, who also refused to answer my questions and refused to give me her full name or its spelling (um, I can google it, dummy, so you didn’t do yourself any favors), after proudly telling me she recruited the Nation of Islam to bring its national convention to the city. When I asked her why she would be so proud of bringing an openly anti-Semitic, anti-White, racist, anti-gay group to the city, she hung up on me, too.

That’s Detroit. And that’s why the city–even when it finally emerges from financial bankruptcy–will never come back. It’s morally bankrupt.

And, unfortunately, there is no court that can discharge that.

With people like Renee Monforton and Xenia Castillo-Hunter “running” the city (into the ground), Detroit will forever remain a disaster.

By the way, Ms. Monforton, you a crackah, too.

Brilliant job, Debbie!

And yet, left wing rabbis still want to reach out with him to find a common bond. Well here is a common bond: Farrakhan: gas chamber operator; Jews: gas chamber occupants.

Dummies. And yet, as much as Jews and whites vote for the Dummicratic Party, the Dummicratic Party refuses to condemn Farrakhan, either.

there is no nation of islam
there is no nation of palestine
but there are raving satanists

all of this has been predicted by scripture
mostly jewish as well as christian

i do not think we’re in the end times
as so many have said over many centuries

but this will be a time of troubles
retribution for sin
we’ve earned it
so here it comes

judeao-christianity will survive
islam will not but the background
causal influence of satan will

there’ll be a lot of suffering
death injury and financial loss

but judeao-christianity will survive
but just like the persians babylonians
and romans who attacked israel
the moslems will not

Maybe they will pay next to bring Prince Charles to the city.

While you are to be applauded for your efforts to unearth the information to which the public should be entitled, petty bureaucrats will exert what little power they have to thwart you. Naturally, this is no surprise.
What is also no surprise is that the average person will neither pay attention to this nor care that this sub-human is appearing in your once fair city.
And that is the problem we face in this country as a whole. Unless something affects someone directly, they do not pay attention or get involved. And oftentimes when they do get involved it is already too late.
That said, keep fighting the good fight, for if we don’t no one will.
Shabbat Shalom.

Don’t tell us Debbie, Detroit is YOUR city, bwaa haa bwaa ha ha.lol. (just giving you a hard time)

Go suck your dummy Big D (you really are a complete idiot – if I ever felt bad about calling you one I don’t anymore)

Frankz on February 21, 2014 at 4:47 pm

This is just the beginning.

Frankz on February 21, 2014 at 4:44 pm

Really fine work, Debbie.

It’s so weird that Farrakahn would call Hitler a great man. Hilter would have called Farrakahn a mongrel sub-human degenerate. They can’t both be right and I’m not betting on Farrakwad.
The irrationality doesn’t make it any less toxic though.

Frankz on February 21, 2014 at 5:30 pm

Just send the NOI guys off to Mecca, and let them experience first hand how the mainstream Muzzies of the world would really treat them and what they really think of them

Infidel on February 21, 2014 at 6:11 pm

Frankz, grow a sense of humor, a person doesn’t have to be serious every god damn day, so SHUT IT!

About a week ago, Warikoo was already shilling for this nonsense Bund rally in burkas

Some interesting stuff here. Calypso Louie looks like he’s been lifting weights, taking HGH, and also has taken to dressing like Italian mob guys.

And as for that little thingy Debbie mentioned about moral bankruptcy. Yeah, funny thing that hoomin naychuh, it’s something only God can successfully extract from the mix. The human race just keeps chasing its tail, round and round.

Ha! Look at how Debbie makes the ignorant squirm. I love it.

DS_ROCKS! on February 22, 2014 at 2:18 am

Excellent work as usual, Debbie.

From Renee Monforton’s point of view, she had to hang up when she did. Because if she were to have to continued to engage with you, she would have she some indefensible things. Allow me to demonstrate by having me extend the conversation. The quotes means that it was actually said as quoted by Debbie above and without quotes indicates what I believe she would have said if the conversation had continued and she had no shame (and sorry, Debbie, but I also have to put some words in your mouth too concerning how I think you would have responded).

DS: “Well, then, why don’t you fill beds with the Klan and other extremists also to spend money in Detroit. Um, no, I’m not happy about the city taking hate money from the Nation of Islam. So, you don’t have a problem with Louis Farrakhan’s message of hate because he and his minions spend money in Detroit.”

RM: You don’t understand, Debbie. While white racism against blacks and others are morally reprehensible and repugnant, black racism against whites and others are legitimate and morally right.

DS: And how’s that, moron?

RM: I can’t explain. I’m not good at explaining things that are morally indefensible. Suffice it to say (for me) is that it’s just different. You wouldn’t understand that, Debbie, which is why I had tried to dodge your question by saying that we are not a political organization. But nooooo, you had to continue to press me with your tough and point-blank questions.

DS: Well, anyway, “[h]ow much did you spend on those banners and how many of them are there?”

RM: “That’s an internal matter, and I’m not going to tell you that.”

DS: “Ah, so you don’t think that the taxpayers–the visitors who pay a 2% tax to pay your salary–are entitled to know how much you spent to welcome an anti-Semitic, anti-White, anti-gay group to the city?”

RM: “No.”

DS: “Why not?”

RM: Because you tax-payers don’t really own their own money. The government does and only gives the people money in exchange for their hard labor and just lets you tax-payers spend only an X amount of money on what you want. For the amount that the government does spend, they spend on whatever they want and the tax-payers have absolutely, positively no right to know how the money is being spent on–especially on indefensible things like this.

DS: Well, I have to give you credit for one thing–at least you’re honest. A moron, but an honest moron. Most people would have instead just hung up on me.

JeffE on February 22, 2014 at 7:32 pm

Correction toward the end of my first sentence:

“she would have *said* some indefensible things.”

JeffE on February 22, 2014 at 7:35 pm

Re the Banner… Would I spend money on making banners welcoming the Nation of Islam. Well no, I can’t say I would, or indeed ever have.

How would I feel about my taxes being spent on such things? Not really entitled to complain, as I don’t even vote.

sue on February 23, 2014 at 3:12 am

Sue, Debbie’s comment about Poland was past tense, as in WWII, and you can’t deny that despite certain individual “moments” that may have existed in certain Polish homes, or among certain Poles, the overall tenor was certainly anti-Semitic.

A: No, in fact, as I’ve noted on my site, anti-Semitism is rampant CURRENTLY in Poland. I have the thousands of e-mails and hackers to prove it. DS

Alfredo from Puerto Rico on February 23, 2014 at 10:24 am

I know I’ve seen your mention of it on a couple occasions, but didn’t realize it was rampant, Debbie. That’s quite unfortunate, and doesn’t bode well for Jews. But I’ve been noting for decades that it’s not a good time to be a Jew in the world (never has been), but all I get among most friends is rolled eyes, and the occasional reference to Palestinians. Quite unfortunate, all around.

Alfredo from Puerto Rico on February 23, 2014 at 12:55 pm

Alfredo, Poland is the only country whose residents are banned from posting on this blog after they tried to bring the blog down several times.

skzion on February 23, 2014 at 6:27 pm

That sounds familiar. I’ve done a lot of reading since I came aboard, including some hefty perusal of the archives.

Alfredo from Puerto Rico on February 24, 2014 at 2:43 am

While it lasted, a gem of a cross examination of the two “acknowledge no NOI evil” PR hacks. Too bad they chose to go dark, pulling down the toilet bowl lid before honorable site host was finished with them. The moral v. amoral contrast was a treat and a welcomed brief relief.

Haven’t Muslims (Saudis) taken 50,000 black Africans as slaves in the last ten years?

Truth on February 23, 2014 at 8:54 pm

Dear Debbie,

I read your articles and thanks to you I realized that Islam is the worst religion and is not a religion of peace. However, I have a question, are the other religions any better? I paid a visit to a north African country where Jews and Muslims live and have lived together for over a century without any problems. why can’t you report about this? I’m Jewish and you should be ashamed of what you write.
