Obama Did What to Russia? Gays, Sochi Olympics & US, Media Hypocrisy on Islam

By Debbie Schlussel

Who is the bigger threat to gays and their existence on the planet? Russia and Vladimir Putin . . . or Muslims whose 22-plus nations around the world regularly murder gays by law? What is the bigger threat to Olympians–gay or straight–in Sochi, come February’s Winter Games? Russia and Vladimir Putin . . . or Muslims who seek to murder countless more innocent civilians, regardless of the victims’ sexual preference?

Gays & Obama Protest Putin . . .

. . .But They Ignore Islam, Jihad & the Black Widow, Which Hate Gays A LOT More . . .

While gays, the media, and Obama continue to whine and stick a finger in the eye of Russia and Putin over gay issues, those concerned with national security are looking for three Islamic terrorist women known individually and/or collectively as “the Black widow.” Is it just me? Or did you also note that the most deadly and threatening “school of thought” against gays is Islam, NOT Russia or Vladimir Putin?

Is it just me? Or did you also wonder why Barack Obama has never picked a delegation of famous gays to send to a single Muslim country, where homosexuality is not only outlawed, but punished by execution (not so in Russia)? Meanwhile, he had no problem with pointedly choosing such a delegation for Russia, starring the “Tano Sisters” Janet Napolitano and Brian Boitano, Billie Jean King, and some U.S. Olympic Women’s Hockey Team chick who came out as gay (a women’s hockey player is gay? no, really?). And no Olympic official protesting Russia on gays would ever agree to hold an Olympic event in the country that is among the gay-friendliest in the world: Israel. Heck, Israel is treated shabbily at every Olympic opportunity, with zero Sochi-esque protest of that blatant anti-Semitism.

As I pointed out on this site four years ago, Qatar was chosen to host the 2010 World Cup, despite the fact that homosexuality is punishable with death in that Islamic emirate. Not only did Barack Obama not say a word about
Qatar’s Islamic fatal intolerance for gays or send a gay delegation of RuPaulistinians, but the FIFA (soccer’s governing body) chief, Sepp Blatter, specifically lectured gay soccer players that they are not to engage in gay sex in Qatar. I wrote about this hypocrisy, then. And the hypocrisy continues with the continued outraged–outraged!–protestations and demonstrations against Russia, but not a single protest or outcry about the Islamic world’s executions of gays.

Yup, there was no world condemnation–or any condemnation at all–of Qatar then, and Barack Obama, on his many trips to Islamic countries, not only didn’t bring gays along, in many cases, he didn’t even bring his wife, Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Hussein Obama Idi Amin Dada, along, lest it offend, for instance, the Saudis. A woman shouldn’t be present and on equal footing in their world. Especially not a Black chick. And Barack Obama pandered to these backward Islamic prescriptions for everyday life.

So why do Vladimir Putin and Russia get different treatment and singling out for a few relatively benign statements and actions against gays? Easy: they aren’t Muslim. Now, if the Olympics were held in Dagestan or Chechnya, you can bet Barack Obama wouldn’t be sending in his and Michelle LRHOIA Dada’s place a froofy retired ice skater with a penis (Boitano) and two of America’s manliest looking beings with a vagina (Napolitano and King). But those are exactly the kinds of places where this delegation SHOULD be sent. We simply don’t have the guts. A courageous Prez would appoint openly gay ambassadors to every single Muslim nation. Heck, I’d make Clay Aiken the newest American chief foreign diplomat in Riyadh. He’s expressed interest in public life, after all. And RuPaul? I’d send Ambassador RuPaul Andre Charles to Bangladesh and have him inspect those clothing factories that fund those who hate us. Put Elton John (I think he’s now a U.S. citizen) in the Cairo Embassy.

But instead, we are cowering. We are cowering and worried about Islamic terrorism in Sochi. We are cowering from those who really hate gays more than anyone. We are cowering from offending them and their many lands–their Dar Al-Islam–in any way related to their attitudes toward homosexuality. We are worrying about these Islamic Black Widow chicks, instead of showing them who’s boss. You think these terrorists and their backers are tolerant of gays? Nope. They’re less–far less–tolerant of them than Putin. If we had any guts, we’d say our gay delegation to the Sochi Olympics is especially dedicated to the Muslims in Dagestan and Chechnya and the other lands where Muslims have taken over by force and fear and intolerance for Western lifestyles.

But we don’t. And they are laughing at us. Laughing all the way to the BOOM! Any terrorist acts that happen won’t discriminate between gays and straights, “anti-gay” Russians and faux-“pro-gay” Obama. It will be targeted at all of the above.

I’m no fan of Putin, who is a KGB agent forever. He’s traded with Iran and enabled China. He’s a thug who imprisons others for political thought he doesn’t like. He’s given traitor Edward Snowden a place to stay and probably helped Snowden’s espionage from the get-go. But he’s not a threat to gays. Islam is, and that is foolishly, hypocritically ignored. And Putin, despite the recent Islamic terrorist attacks in Russia, knows how to deal with the Islamic threat. We do not. They fear him. They don’t fear America, as it continues its silly protests about Russia and gays but ignores Islam’s very deadly treatment of gays.

American Olympians and their supporters emptied bottles of Russian Vodka in protest in much ballyhooed media coverage. But it’s really Muslim products (though I can’t think of any of note, other than IEDs and underwear and printer bombs) that should have been emptied, burned, and destroyed in protest. Sandwiches from Ahmed’s Falafel Hut are what should have been destroyed for the cameras and reporters. This reminds me of my previous point about gays attacking Mormon churches in California for supporting Proposition 8 outlawing gay marriage, but not doing a thing to mosques (even though they strongly backed Prop 8).

There’s an old joke in Russia about the two former Soviet media outlets, “Pravda” (which means “truth”) and “Izvestia” (which means “news”): that there’s no pravda in Izvestia and no izvestia in Pravda.

And there’s no pravda in anything that Barack Obama, the gays, and the mainstream media are doing in their “outrage” against Russia’s perceived anti-gay policies.

The real enemies of gays are Muslims and Islam, in general. That’s the only truth here.

When there’s an Islamic terrorist attack on Sochi, the Russia gay issue won’t matter a lick as body parts of innocents fly.

Vladimir Putin is also is a Russian Orthodox Christian and the Left can’t stand the resurgence of Christianity in Russia even while religion and traditional values are on the wane in the West.

I keep thinking of the new “Jack Ryan” movie Debbie reviewed this past weekend that depicted a Russian Orthodox Christian terrorist cell operating out of Dearbornistan. The subliminal message being – look the real crazies, the real potential terrorists are Christians – not Muslims! There is a war being waged against Christianity today in the West.

Here’s the irony: after 70 years of Communist atheist persecution of Christians and Jews and the destruction of countless churches and synagogues in the former Soviet Union, the revival of religious freedom in Russia is not cause for celebration but is to be reviled! I don’t understand an attitude that says a new church or new synagogue being built throughout Russia and the country returning to G-d is something that we ought to despise.

I’m not defending everything Putin stands for and how he’s harmed our interests – certainly true. I’m pointing out that instead of celebrating the change in Russia in which people have more freedom than they ever had in the Soviet time, including the freedom to worship G-d as they wish – we think Russians should become more like us! No wonder they don’t want to become more like us.

And we truck with those really hate us (Islamic terrorists) and who seek to kill us all. Putin is hated not only for encouraging Christian revival in his country, he is hated for taking a stand against Islam and its jihad. But we can’t bring ourselves to acknowledge that is the right thing to do and so its no small irony that we Americans have wound up with the rest of the decadent West, on the side of intolerant gays and Muslim jihadists who both hate the Christian World and wish it ceased to exist.

That’s the world of the Sochi Winter Olympic Games in store for next month and its an ugly face to witness.

I think the LGBT leadership ought to focus a little more on this specific story of an Islamic terrorist sleeper-cell in Russia wants to do terrorist damage to the Sochi games a month from now. Even though I think Putin is a dickhead, and a tyrant who passed such dogma discriminatory laws towards the LGBT community, to his own credit, he knows how to hand and take care of the Islamofascists in the midst of the Russians.

I’m also glad that Russian authorities arrested this girl, who was one of the perps and their/her attempted plots to presumably blow up parts of the Olympics next month, now only if they (Russian authorities) find the rest of the perps before anything evil and horrible occurs. This topic that Debbie bought to the table is NOT about the LGBT community and LGBT rights per-se, its about Islamic-fundamentalist terrorists orchestrating plots to do physical harm in the Olympics.

I like that the Russians will actually bring terrorists to justice. Putin is ex-KGB. They know how to hurt people – badly who interfere with their plans.

Diana on January 23, 2014 at 12:56 am

Christians are not forcing gays to hide in the closet or advocating they be executed.

Debbie’s point in her post is there is no such tolerance on the other side. Only hate and naked hypocrisy which ignore the real threats to gay people.

And one factor in the rise of Islam in the West, in a more specific front to the West’s slouching towards decadence and hedonism, has been the promotion, glorification and encouragement of homosexuality including but not limited to “gay” marriage. One has to ask oneself (though the question will forever be rhetorical) why Obama on one hand has been running interference for the homosexual lobby against Christians and other promoters of traditional morality and marriage, and on the other hand has been enabling, aiding and abetting jihad around the world (though on the latter score, he is sadly not unique as has been mentioned many times – think his predecessor in office).

There has always been a subversive element (both politically and in every other way) to homosexuality, both in Biblical times (seen as a rebellion against G-d) and since the 1960’s (when it, along with promiscuous sexual behavior, drug use, and profanity/obscenity, was being promoted as a form of rebellion against “the Establishment” and various sundry social mores). The militant homosexual lobby has been especially open about seeing to it that their radical fringe Greenwich Village/San Francisco “values” of moral relativism completely overturn and replace Judeo/Christian morality and values on all levels and fronts. In every which way the homosexual agenda is every bit as supremacist in its own way as the Islamist agenda as exemplified by the various alphabet-soup fronts of the Muslim Brotherhood including HAMAS-CAIR.

And along with the many strikes against Governor ChrispieCreme that Debbie has catalogued (such as anti-gun, pro-amnesty, pandering to Muslim extremists), you can add pro-homosexual (and therefore, anti-family) to that list.

“Is it just me? Or did you also wonder why Barack Obama has never picked a delegation of famous gays to send to a single Muslim country”
Well it wasn’t a delegation but he did send ambassador Chris Stevens to Libya which worked out not that amazing.

This whole presumed outrage by President Obama is just for show. He has been flummoxed by Putin, and he doesn’t like it.

Imagine — after the ‘reset’ several years ago, and continued appeasement of Russia, not only do relations with Russia not improve, but he gets hit by the Snowden Affair. It makes Obama look like a fool, and his vanity has taken a hit. So this ‘outrage’ over the treatment of gays serves two purposes: first, of course to pander to a key element of his base, but second, to try a little to soothe his wounded vanity, after the way he was treated by Putin after all the appeasement.

He is not serious about how Russia treats gays. He couldn’t care less, just like he doesn’t care how gays are treated in the Muslim countries. He cares about the Democratic base, and his own vanity. Just like when Iran announces its next nuclear breakthrough he will pretend to be angry.

I think this whole tactic might have originated with Hillary when she went to China and made pro forma comments protesting the treatment of women and denial of rights. Of course she didn’t care. Just pandering for the base back home.

They only really get mad at Israel.

    McCain tweeted this recently,
“Dear Vlad (Vladimir Putin), The ArabSpring is coming to a neighborhood near you,” which is what I think he and Obama really care about.

Frankz on January 21, 2014 at 5:52 pm

Possible it might have started earlier with Bill Clinton or the Bushes, though.

Little Al on January 21, 2014 at 5:40 pm

Thanks for the great article Debbie

Frankz on January 21, 2014 at 5:55 pm

Well, Russia under Putin is seriously anti-gay. About 15 years ago or so there was a survey that had a sizable percentage believing that gays should be killed. Heck, Russia is seriously anti-Semitic, as Russia always has been, but the Jews have split. In addition, I am not much of a fan of the Russian Orthodox Church, which has been a foundation for anti-Semitism, or so I believe. (Apparently, there is relatively little church-going in Russia today, however, which indicates that these negative attitudes are no longer directly connected to the Russian church.)

All that said, Debbie’s point here is well taken and delightfully put. I was especially pleased with the idea of using RuPaul as an ambassador. Barky et al.’s condemnation could be more hypocritical and cynical, and that goes for everyone else who suddenly became public pro-gay protestors.

skzion on January 21, 2014 at 7:02 pm

Good piece. I’m not at all a fan of Putin’s, and his state is a good forewarning of the direction we’re headed with a single dictator who rules with a thin facade of democracy and a “loyal opposition” of bureaucratic hacks that are all themselves on the take.

Nobody has rights in Russia. Journalists are beaten and disappeared. True opposition leaders who don’t sell themselves are given show trials and either sent to prison or given a suspended sentence that conveniently excludes them from political activity. Profitable businesses are taken from their owners and given as prizes to government thugs and oligarchs. The midnight visit from the Stalin era is still in place, with only the difference is now people are more likely to end up getting the crap beaten out of them instead of outright murdered – that’s friendly.

Nobody has rights in Russia. There is no rule of law in any capacity. Yet, whenever the “free” media in the West here has any opportunity to discuss Putin and his dictatorship it is always inevitably focused on gays. Who cares. Yes, gays have no rights there. And what of the other 140 million people who also have no rights? No word on that from Western sources or anywhere. And yeah, don’t even pretend like there’s any chance that will extend to Muslim states, about gays or otherwise.

I will argue on one point here. While Putin does take care of the terrorist threat better than the gutless sorts here, but he’s still far from perfect and brings it on his own people. In his desire to be emperor over all the former Soviet states, he refuses to limit travel between Central Asian and Caucusus states providing easy access for criminals and terrorist to smuggle themselves and any necessary equipment right into the country. Any proposal to institute a visa regime or any sort of border control is considered “racist” by both domestic and foreign media.

One final note on all this. I absolutely love the fact that in Obama’s efforts to thumb his nose at Putin in such a petulant manner, he’s effectively outed Manpolitano. Not that anybody was uncertain.

Brian R. on January 21, 2014 at 7:10 pm

“Or did you also wonder why Barack Obama has never picked a delegation of famous gays to send to a single Muslim country, where homosexuality is not only outlawed, but punished by execution…”

I’m pretty quick with my theories, but have no idea why gay activists remain dead silent on this. Is it because muslims have been given equal status to blacks as an oppressed minority and gays are afraid of being accused of being “racist”?

DS_ROCKS! on January 21, 2014 at 7:24 pm

Debbie, Putin may have trade with Iran but Russian trade with Iran and China are not done blindly. Russians know that they face threats from both China, Iran and Saudi Arabia. They sell weapons to Iran just enough to irk the Americans. They do this because they are pissed at the way the west coddles with Muslim extremists who are sponsored by the gulf Arabs. Its like payback. Unlike the dummy imbeciles who are totally clueless or ignorant about islam in the west, the Russians are realists and know the devils.

Excellent article. But, every gay person I know is in complete denial of the clear, present and ongoing danger of Islam to gays. Maybe it’s because they know that Muslim countries are rampant with homosexuality.

Pray Hard on January 22, 2014 at 1:56 pm

Active gays are in denial of a lot of things. They’re just in denial.

banana breath on January 22, 2014 at 2:39 pm

” Maybe it’s because they know that Muslim countries are rampant with homosexuality.”

You are correct but in those countries it is more “on the down low” and gays don’t openly try to marry or live together or hold hands in the street. If they tried that, they would be DEAD !!
The LGBT community is insane for constantly attacking the Christian community (most of whom grudgingly accept gays) and yet support Muslims who would cut their throats and throw them down a well.

I’m sure we would never see articles like this in a Russian newspaper:

It’s funny how Russia nowadays looks more ‘conservative’ than any country in the West (sans their support for Israel’s foes). But I love Debbie’s idea of having GLBT activist envoys to Muslim countries – couldn’t think of one better.

In particular, I’d like to see some ‘abed’ Lesbians in the embassies @ Riyadh, Cairo, Dacca, Islamabad and so on. Let the MLK admirers in CAIR explain to us anything that happens to any of them.

Send Elton John to the ‘Free Syrian Army’ – they’re democrats, right, so they shouldn’t have any problems w/ him.

Putin is right. He is a good leader. He is protecting the minds and hearts of the most innocent of his country: CHILDREN. Not so here in the good old USA. No, here we like to tell children it’s okay that two men would have sex. That’s it’s okay that women who like women pretend to be parents, even though it’s impossible for the two of them to pro-create. Yes, here in the USA we tell children it’s okay that a man who is a man wants to now become a woman, and that’s just okay, there’s nothing psychologically wrong with him. But a man who is depressed or on drugs, well, he’s nuts. C’mon man this is so stupid. So outrageous. This whole gay agenda is rooted in extreme denial. Denial that turns to rage. Rage that turns to activism. Activism that turns to anarchy. Anarchy that turns into hatred. Hatred for what the union of men and women. The secret, burning desire to be normal, but deep down inside the rage and confusion over being someone who is fighting against nature, fighting against God is so hot, so bitter, so confused, that their only measure is to infiltrate every avenue they can to do as much brainwashing as possible to desperately try and convert those who don’t agree with their deviant behavior. SHould gays be discriminated against? No, in the same ways people who are on drugs or are mentally ill shouldn’t be. But let’s face it, if you were born a man, and how you want to have breasts and wear lipstick you are mentally ill. No amount of activism will ever change this reality. Never. Just as it will always be impossible for two women or two men in a relationship to conceive a child together. There are just some things that can’t be changed. No matter how many TV shows you have that show gays as “normal” family people. We all know, deep down inside, that it isn’t possible for two men or two women to conceive a child, so please, stop the BS.

About the point of demonstrators having emptied bottles of vodka onto the street gutter: This is reminiscent of what Lewis Black, in one of his “Back In Black” rants on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” during Jon Stewart’s (né Leibowitz) run as host, noted about a “boycott” of French products when that country would not participate in the Iraq war (and “French fries” were temporarily renamed “freedom fries”): “You don’t buy something if you’re gonna boycott it.” Clearly, those protesters bought all those bottles before doing their little demonstration. Typical hypocrites. (And B.T.W., Black, like the rest of the Hollywood left, supports the LGBT agenda and is fully anti-family and anti-morality, once mocking the point of how such an agenda seeks to destroy the family unit in one of his “comedy” specials.)
