More Obama Shutdown BS: Social Security Fully Staffed/Open, But Cuts Services!

By Debbie Schlussel

More smoke and mirrors and public relations scheming over the shutdown from the Obama Administration. A reader who works for the federal government sent this photo below of a sign that is apparently posted at all Social Security Administration offices. Since SSA is considered essential, it is fully staffed and open as usual, and yet, it is not performing many of its duties “Due to Congressional inaction to prevent a Government shutdown.” (Translation: “Due to the Evil Republicans!”)

Huh? It doesn’t make sense that a fully staffed, fully funded agency would not be able to function during the shutdown . . . unless the decision was made by a crafty, dishonest President who wants people to hate the Republicans in Congress because of the shutdown and wants to make the shutdown seem more drastic than it actually is or should be (we’ve seen it at the monuments and with the military vets, but not with the prized illegal aliens). And that’s exactly what’s going on here, as with all the other selective furloughs and closings associated with the shutdown.

The reader writes:

Hi Debbie:

Here is a copy of the sign at all the social security offices. They are considered essential, so no one has been furloughed nor have their hours been reduced.

Yet, for some reason they have reduced their services despite being fully staffed.

So no social security cards…..

Also FPS [Federal Protective Service, which polices federal buildings and is part of Homeland Security] has been ordered to step up patrols of SSA offices because a perceived threat that the reduction in services may bring. Nice….

You can really have fun and go to an office and ask them why they are doing this and watch them squirm…

Yup, nice PR machinations by the Obama Administration corruptocrats.

Sadly, I don’t think anyone is squirming. Just smirking that they have done this, screwing the little people and giving the other side (the Republicans) the credit for it. Or trying to.

Exactly, Debbie, ESPECIALLY this part.

. . . “unless the decision was made by a crafty, dishonest President who wants people to hate the Republicans in Congress because of the shutdown and wants to make the shutdown seem more drastic than it actually is . . .”

I have to head out to the fields and don’t have time for “Read the rest of this entry” right now, but I don’t have to. The quote above speaks for itself, and the whole situation.

Okay America, repeat after me, and don’t forget to write it on the blackboard 500 times, take it home and memorize it, because Satan will be giving a pop quiz on it, tomorrow, the next day, the day after that, and all the way to his lair.

‘Democrat good, Republican bad, Democrat good, Republican bad, . . .’

As for Debbie, VERY, VERY good, always. Thanks again, Debbie, for your continuing wisdom, insight and TRUE journalism.

Barack Obama may oppose torturing terrorist, but he is perfectly willing to play the Sadist when it comes to Americans. Harry Reid also exposed himself when he Answered Dana Bash’s question about allowing the NIH taken in new child patients suffering from cancer.

Well said, Worry. I was gonna say something similar but you said it nicely.

Obama-Putin has much in common with Islamic Jihadists. So willing to cause great pain for those he SUPPOSEDLY is supposed to be leading and caring about. 100% sinister and with rhythmic, diabolical precision. What an evil, evil sociopath.

BTW, I just called SSA 1*800*772*1213 and asked for a copy of something they usually provide and the fool on the other end said they couldn’t mail out info because 1) to save $$ and 2) because a budget has not been passed.

I asked was it because of the BUDGET (because there has not been one passed since Obama-Putin has been dictator) OR because of the Gubmint “Shutdown”. The fool told me BOTH.

A total lie. Anyone who has an elderly family member knows you can call and ask for documentation and they send it right out…and I have done this a few times in the last few years so he’s full of sh**. It’s because of the “Shutdown”. More kabuki theatre on part of this craven regime.

Libtards are blaming the EVIL Republicans but it’s really the Libtards who are the most evil of all. I can’t stand people too dumb to believe that lie and can’t see the truth. Two evil types of pukes ruining the human experiment in 2013.

The Republican House passed legislation that simply said under Obamacare, the President and federal employees have to live under the same rules as those they imposed on Americans.

So the Prez and the Democrats hit the roof and shut down the federal government because they didn’t like this. And now they’re trying to exact petty revenge on Republicans who don’t want to go along with anything that makes Obama look good! Its childish and puerile as is their refusal to negotiate a compromise.

And with the way things stand, Republicans feel no political obligation to make the President a succcess. Since its his way or the highway, this is one political marriage in Washington washed up on the rocks.

Never let a crisis go to waste. Speaking of waste, that’s Obama and his cronies. Total wastes. Shame on all who cast votes, especially the second time, for this loser.

I wonder what the cost is to print up all these “we can’t do business because of shutdown” and who is paying for them.

Did you notice that the copy of the sign also infers blame? The signing is even propaganda!

Obama & the baby-boomer lefties have standardized and institutionalized passive-aggressiveness.

Does anyone think and feel like they are being conned again?

1. The FedGov brings into its coffers approx $200 Billion / month per numerous sources.

2. If more money is needed, the FG requests more from the Federal Reserve. The FR PRINTS FROM THIN AIR the requested amount, Credits the FG with the amount, the FG collateralizes the loan amount via a TREASURY NOTE and INTEREST to be paid to the Note Holder. Taxpayers are on the hook for the Treasury’s promises to pay.

3. The FG uses this newly printed money for its purposes, i.e. new social programs, payments to Foreign Creditors, running day-today activities, Foreign Aid, Military Actions, etc.

4. At the same time, more money is deposited in the Federal Reserve Banking System. Excess money is used to reduce Interest Rates thus providing low cost funds to those on the inside track.

5. Progressives always like cheap money which increases Hiring, thus, more votes. However, those people will eventually be affected by Inflation which because of rising wages drives them into higher tax brackets all the while the Purchasing Power of the new money decreases.

6. Republicans benefit by this process as well since they can promote purchases from big benefactors thus more donations towards re-election efforts.

THERE ARE MORE AND GREATER PROBLEMS FROM THIS KEYNESIAN MONEY PRINTING SCHEME and many will soon discover when BAIL-INS begin here in the U.S.

Couple all of this with FRACTIONAL RESERVE BANKING, the holdings of Foreign Countries of Treasury Notes for loans supporting U.S. debt, and the use of these T Notes as ASSETS to print more currency in their own individual home country and what do you find? The P-O-N-Z-I GAME.

I hope I have sufficiently and correctly presented the process.

Finally, research why Germany requested the return of their gold from the NY FedRes, BUT from my readings cannot get all of it for 10 years.

Now, add to all of this the FAILING CITIES, STATES, PENSION FUNDS, ad infinitum, and who do you think will have to pay for all of this debt?

The GDP of the U.S. is $15 T. Total U.S. Debt including unfunded liabilities is ranging from $80 to $200+ TRILLION.

So, here we are watching the THREE STOOGES, MARX BROTHERS, LAURAL & HARDY, ABBOT & COSTELLO – drive Taxpayers, Savers, and SMALL BUSINESS into the ground.

AND THE THEATRICAL FARCE CONTINUES…

ps: Does anyone truly think Obama will keep his word if a deal is established? He will not…He cannot…None of them can…and We are blind to the game being played.

There is no doubt that Obama and the Dems are using the shutdown opportunistically just as with the sequester, trying to inflict maximum pain (within acceptable parameters, e.g. not stopping Soial Security checks), and especially trying to inconvenience or hurt those groups that are considered candidate=Democrat (formerly called Republican.)

At the same time, the candidate-Democrats are not free of blame. First, they waited until Obamacare was up and functioning, and impossible to stop. They were silent during the campaign, and even now, are handling it with kid clubs. A few comments about Government growth and bureaucratic inefficiency, but virtually nothing about the socialist/communist redistribution of income that is the heart of this monstrosity. So attack-lite mode.

Second, not a word about rings like the Highway and Farm Bills, which are boondoggles with all kinds of garbage packed into them having nothing to do with Highways or Farms. And even the Highway and Farm elements are bloated. Slowing rather than reversing the growth of Food Stamps as high as it has become?

And what about Government waste? The General Accountability Office has issued several reports specifically highlighting numerous agencies and departments afflicted with duplication, inefficiency and waste. l The GAO estimates the annual impact at $100 billion. So what do the Democrats and candidate-Democrats do? Cut the appropriations to the GAO.

And this whole thing about Obamacare is just a smokescreen to make it seem as though they are doing something for conservatives, and try to mask the atrocious support of illegal immigration endorsed by virtually all the candidate-Republicans.

So they brought a lot of this on themselves. A shutdown over an unrealizable and disingenuous goal, and ignoring many other basic problems, and not fighting Obamacare when it could have made a difference, or educating today over its basic flaws.

Little Al on October 10, 2013 at 4:23 pm

And nothing about stopping Government handouts to the cronies of Obama, Reid, Feinstein, etc. Why? Because then their own handouts could be challenged.

Little Al on October 10, 2013 at 4:24 pm

Dennis & Little Al: very nice.

Debbie,

I am a former Manager of the Social Security Administration in Tampa and retired at the beginning of the year partly because of the edits from this Administration. One of the consequences of not taking Social Security card applications or verifying Social Security numbers is that people are unable to get jobs. But that fits right in with this Administration trying to keep people on unemployment. Our office serviced a MIPS center and it also keeps young men and women wanting to serve our country out of the military. But probably the MIPS centers are closed too. While they will help you apply for benefits, it is my understanding that they will not process the claims but I could be wrong. I can tell you that 80% of the employees that worked for me were hard working and feel terrible about this.
This is the first time that I have written but really enjoy your site. Keep up the good work because very few people are willing to tell the truth.
