ABSURD: “Botched” Navy SEALs Somali Raid Was Called Off to Avoid Harming Muslim Civilians, Children
Apparently, U.S. military commanders believe Muslim lives are more important than American lives.
You know the “botched” Navy SEAL raid on Somalia over the weekend? The one over which Al-Shabaab is now claiming “victory” against the United States? Yes, that one. Well, it turns out that the SEALs could have carried out the mission and gotten their man, Al-Shabaab terrorist Abdikadir Mohamed Abdikadir a/k/a “Ikrima.” But, in the middle of the mission, their commander called off the raid because the SEALs were kicking terrorist butt, and the commander didn’t want any Muslim Al-Shabaab-supporting civilians and children harmed.
Yup, let’s hear it for putting Muslim lives–the lives of Muslims who support Islamic terrorists that murder Westerners–above American lives! Yay, America. Muslims always see this as a sign of weakness. And this corrosive “value for Muslim terrorist families’ lives” has afflicted America to its detriment since Clinton, through Bush, and now to Obama. We didn’t capture Bin Laden when we had the chance before the 9/11 bombings because he was with women and children and Arab Muslim princes. We didn’t carry out several necessary operations in Iraq and Afghanistan to save American soldiers’ lives because Bush and Petraeus were obsessed with capturing Muslim “hearts and minds” (how did that work out?). And now this.
Remember, this guy was involved in bombing the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya. And he wouldn’t hesitate to murder more Americans and attack more American sites. Al-Shabaab has already said they would not hesitate to commit terrorist attacks on American soil, and they are already here in our midst in great numbers, thanks to our wonderful immigration system (several hundreds Al-Shabaab operatives gamed the system and disappeared into America, according to government documents).
I’m sure the Navy SEALs who went on that mission and knew they could carry it out successfully are pissed and embarrassed by their “commander.” They should be, especially since their raid was painted by the Obamaniks and their media partners (including FOX News) as a “botched” mission. It was not. It was a called off mission. Called off right in the middle, putting the SEALs’ lives at risk for no reason. From today’s Wall Street Journal:
The U.S. commander on the ground called off the raid after an intense firefight that left several militants dead, officials said. A key factor in the decision was the presence of children in the compound and the determination that it wouldn’t be possible to capture Ikrima without inflicting civilian casualties, a U.S. official said.
One of Ikrima’s bodyguards was killed in the raid, according to a person close to al-Shabaab who withheld his name out of concern for his safety.
Al-Shabaab, at a news conference later Saturday in Barawe, said they had defeated the Americans and described the foiled raid as further proof of their strength after their assault at Nairobi’s Westgate mall last month.
Al-Shabaab, in the U.S. view, has been weakened by infighting and as a result of a joint counterterrorism effort by Kenyan, Ethiopian and African Union forces. The group has also been divided by infighting—with one faction focused on fighting the Somali government and the other looking to use the country as a staging ground for international attacks.
But the U.S. raid in Barawe was in planning before the Kenya mall attack, U.S. officials said, reflecting the view that the group’s militants remain part of the larger regional threat. The Westgate attack, too, has prompted U.S. officials to assess whether al-Shabaab is adapting under pressure.
Officials said the Navy SEALs were sent in to capture Ikrima because they believed he would have intelligence about possible future strikes by al-Shabaab.
A Kenyan intelligence report, viewed by The Wall Street Journal, said Ikrima was involved in two foiled plots in Kenya: a 2011 plan to strike government, diplomatic and military targets in Nairobi; and a plan in April of this year to attack an airport in northeastern Kenya.
Ikrima is associated with al Qaeda operatives who played roles in the 1998 bombing of the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi and the 2002 attacks on a hotel and airline in Mombasa, U.S. officials said. He also is one of the group’s key trainers inside Somali, according to the person close to al-Shabaab. . . .
Barawe, a town of about 20,000 people, is made of minority clans who have often been slighted by the government and so are relatively sympathetic to the insurgents, said J. Peter Pham, an Africa analyst at the Atlantic Council in Washington.
But, hey, we spared these “innocent civilian” terrorist sympathizers and wasted a gazillion dollars on a called-off Navy SEALs mission. And we gave them a PR treasure in getting to claim they beat America. Just terrific.
Oh, and remember, THIS. IS. ISLAM.:
In the al-Shabaab coastal stronghold of Barawe, where U.S. Navy SEALs carried out the raid, militants patrol the streets in pickup trucks, force local women into marriage, collect taxes from fishermen and act as judges, jailers and executioners. . . . Some residents said they stay quiet out of concern of reprisals. “Al-Shabaab uses the town like their capital,” said a resident who only gave his first name, Muhammad, out of concern for his safety. “They have set up their own radio station to use their propaganda and call the people for their Holy War.”
Al-Shabaab has a training camp just outside Barawe, residents said, and the town has come to be known as a base for the group’s foreign fighters from the U.S., Afghanistan and other countries. The militants can be seen in the afternoons riding in pickup trucks around town, Muhammad said.
Militants earlier this year beheaded some young men who they said were spying for the government, Muhammad said. Militant commanders forcefully take young women from the town as their wives, he said.
And, yet, we worried more about the lives of these people than we do the lives of Americans they murdered (and the Westerners they targeted and mass-murdered at the Westgate Mall in Nairobi, Kenya).
America, THIS is how you lose a war.
And, make no mistake, we are losing.
Exit Question: did U.S. Commanders call off the invasion at Normandy to avoid harming civilians? Did they call off our participation in World War II for that reason?

I’m embarrassed for this country!
American soldiers’ lives were put at risk for nothing! Actually, killing some of their “civilians” would have led them to fear and respect us cuz that’s what they do! Showing the mercy of fools did not exactly win America street cred with Islamic terrorists. They have no moral scruples about killing us!
And sparing the lives of their womenfolk and children doesn’t make them feel more grateful or appreciative of us. They hate us no matter what we do or don’t do! Debbie is right, we’re losing the war.
Alhamidullah – praise Allah – America is more considerate of Muslims than the Muslims!
