Farid Fata: Lebanese Cancer Doc Defrauded Medicare, Told Patients w No Cancer They Had it, Gave ‘Em Chemo; Used Foreign Alien Muslim Docs w No License

By Debbie Schlussel

Over the years, I’ve noted that a significant percentage of doctors and other healthcare professionals who commit healthcare fraud are Muslims, Arabs, or both. This is true not just in Michigan–where Arabs and Muslims are each, at most, two percent of the population–but also in other states with lower Muslim and Arab populations.

faridfata

Yesterday, Middle Eastern Detroit-area cancer doctor, Farid Fata, MD, was arrested by FBI agents, and his palatial home and several offices were raided. Fata, a renowned oncologist and a graduate of Lebanese University, amassed multi-millions by defrauding Medicare and telling patients who did not have cancer that they did, so that he could give them poisonous, fatal chemotherapy and fraudulently bill Medicare for it. He defrauded the government to the tune of over $35 million dollars. Fata also gave chemo to cancer patients who were at the end stages of life, where chemo would not help them and only made their last days more miserable. But, hey, they’re just “worthless” infidels, and he needed to bill the government, so he could add to those millions and maintain his mansion in ritzy Oakland Township. Read the Federal Criminal Complaint unsealed yesterday against Dr. Fata.

Watch This Shocking Video Report about Dr. Frankenstein Fata, an Utter Monster . . .

video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player

According to the complaint, Fata employed hundreds of foreign doctors–most of them Muslims and Arabs–and did not even know if they were licensed to practice medicine. He had those foreign doctors administer the lethal chemotherapy to hundreds of patients per day who did not need it. Many of those foreign doctors are probably not even in the United States legally. (More of those Paul Ryan and Marco Boob-io want to get “out of the shadows” with instant amnesty citizenship. Fabulous!) Some of the surviving family members of Dr. Fata’s patients believe he murdered them, and they are probably right. If you don’t have cancer, and you are given chemo, it’s poisonous and can be fatal. Fata’s had thousands of patients through the many offices of his Michigan Hematology Oncology P.C. company, which employed mostly Muslim and Arab doctors even among those who are licensed to practice medicine here.

Among the things specifically cited by FBI Special Agent Brian Fairweather in his affidavit in the complaint:

Specifically, Dr. Fata has directed the following activities:

a. Administration of unnecessary chemotherapy in patients in remission

b. Deliberate misdiagnosis of patients as having cancer to justify unnecessary cancer treatment

c. Administration of chemotherapy to end-of-life patients who will not benefit from the treatment

d. Deliberate misdiagnosis of patients without cancer to justify expensive testing

e. Fabrication of other diagnoses such as anemia and fatigue to justify unnecessary hematology treatments

f. Distribution of controlled substances to patients without medical necessity. . . .

He employed three foreign doctors who were not licensed in the United States to examine the patients and provide an initial diagnosis. . . .

EE-1 stated that foreign doctors “just show up” at MHO [DS: Dr. Fata’s company, Michigan Hematology Oncology, P.C.]. These foreign doctors – who do not have a license to practice medicine in the United States – introduce themselves to patients as “Doctor.”

The unlicensed doctors are generally assigned to examine Dr. Fata’s patients and complete write-ups of their exam. Dr. Fata typically sees his patients for only a few minutes at the end of their typical 2-4 hour visit to the clinic. The rest of the patients’ time is spent with the unlicensed doctors and other MHO staff. This arrangement allows Fata to routinely see 50-70 patients per day while other doctors in his practice see between five and ten.

Dr. Fata’s behavior and rampant, criminal healthcare fraud likely killed many of his patients. But it’s also a lesson in medical reputations, which aren’t always reliable. Fata was consistently rated as one of the best cancer doctors in the area by his colleagues, was repeatedly published, and got National Institutes of Health grants from the government for research and studies. All of that published work and so-called “research” is probably fraudulent, like his medical billings, and may be based on the foreign docs giving chemo to those who didn’t have cancer.

If you were involved in reporting Dr. Fata to authorities in any way (specifically employees EE-1 through EE-5 referenced in the complaint), you should contact me, because you could make a lot of money for the service you performed in whistleblowing. And if you know of someone who is ripping off the government, whether it’s Medicare or Medicaid fraud (as I noted, Muslims and Arabs make up the lion’s share of those who get caught doing this) or something else, please e-mail me, because you could make a lot of money filing a sealed federal Qui Tam lawsuit under the False Claims Act, which forces the feds to investigate and gives the person who reports the fraud a percentage of the recovered money (I’ve filed such suits before and know how to do it).

Dr. Fata isn’t the first, and he won’t be the last. Remember Dr. Hussein “Sam” Awada?

Many more like Awada and Fata in our midst. If you want to help report them (and make some good money in the process), let me know. I can help you.

They must be exposed and stopped.

Sheeple need to wake up. One can no longer “trust the government to do what’s best for me,” (Danica Patrick). She was referring to birth control, Maobamacare. How many more “doctors” will infuse themselves into the exchanges? One must do one’s personal research, especially with such a personal and critical item as healthcare. The internet is a wealth of information.

Lou on August 7, 2013 at 9:19 am

Farid Fata is just a cockroach. It is amazing how such a dung beetle managed to acquire such a good reputation.

Worry01 on August 7, 2013 at 9:33 am

Medical fraud is hard to stop! People trust their doctors and have no reason to suspect they’re doing anything unethical or dangerous.

Debbie is right – these doctors have to be stopped not only cuz they’re defrauding the government but because they’re breaking the law AND endangering their patients’ health.

There are more like Farid Fata in this country and he just happened to get caught. Plenty more get away with it and the taxpayers and patients are both on the losing end of their medical malpractice.

NormanF on August 7, 2013 at 10:23 am

@ NormanF….Norman said: “These doctors have to be stopped not only cuz they’re defrauding the government but because….”

Norman, it is the taxpayer that is being defrauded. Where in government do we (the taxpayer) ever see any concern for waste and fraud of taxpayer resources. Government itself is a massive tool for the INTIMIDATION and EXTORTION of its citizens. If and when obamacare takes effect, government will have the power of EUTHANIZATION of undesireable elements as well. Anyway, I just wanted to interject that thought. Our DR Farid Fata is gaming the system and engeniously cutting himself a “slice of the pie” the way most govt officials and elected reps have been doing for decades. The citizens should seriously consider hangin em all.

      joesixpack31 on August 13, 2013 at 12:55 pm

Laura you may be right – Lebanon also has Christians so it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if Christian Arab docs also committed Medicare fraud.

NormanF on August 7, 2013 at 10:18 am

This evil doc happens to be a Christian. His middle initial is “T.” and stands for “Tanios”, a name used only by Christians. Christians in the Middle East share many similar values and traits in common with their Muslim neighbors.

    Rose B. on August 11, 2013 at 5:28 pm

“Laura” is like Zelig…”she” has an uncanny ability to know of many people of Moooooslim persuasion DS reports on.

So world-ly! So in the mix!

What a fraud. A whack contrarian who never provides facts but lies about knowing everyone and ALWAYS kicking against those telling the truth about Islam. But only briefly. “She” never provides facts or breaks the argument. “She’s” just always against being against Islam.

Which makes me proud to be against limp “Laura”.

Skunky on August 7, 2013 at 11:15 am

    Skunky,

Mostly its Muslim doctors who do that kind of stuff. But other Middle Eastern doctors are also guilty as sin.

Some of the Christians are no better in being conscientious despite being treated as dhimmis in the Islamic culture. Yeah, she usually gets it wrong.

I wonder where he came from and Lebanese Christians have moved here to avoid persecution from the Muslims. That doesn’t mean they’re all saints. Dr. Fata definitely isn’t a good guy – or on the side of them.

NF: Many Arab Christians come here to make money, and it has nothing to do with “persecution,” which is only a recent phenomenon, and not the case in Lebanon, where most Christians are supporters of Hezbollah and enjoy protection. DS

NormanF on August 7, 2013 at 12:17 pm

What I have learned here and what continues to serve me well (IE: be the truth) is that Lebanese Christians/Dhimmis are sometimes even worse than the Mooooooslims they kneel to.

I’m sticking with that. It’s never failed me yet.

It’s alive in well on the east coast here in Boston. I treat the “Christians” the same in my mind as the Mooooooslims. Just as one should protect themselves from sociopaths. Zero equivocation.

Skunky on August 7, 2013 at 12:38 pm

For most people a diagnosis of cancer is a death sentence. The psychological trauma this POS put his patients through must have been horrendous. This rat needs to spend the rest of his wretched life in a Mexican prison.

And btw, a Middle Eastern/Lebanese “Christian” is by no means equivalent to an American Protestant Christian who, in the words of Norman Podhoretz and others, are the best friends any Jew will have and remain the ONLY group left in America who strongly oppose Islamic immigration into the U.S.

Alisia S on August 7, 2013 at 11:27 am

    Alisia S.

Yup – many of them hate Jews and are anti-Israel. Such Christian Arabs as Debbie has noted in the past, also work on behalf of Islam.

Not all Christian immigrants are moderate or mean this country well.

NormanF on August 7, 2013 at 12:05 pm

Muslim doctor?

Run.

Adam on August 7, 2013 at 11:33 am

    youre absolutely right.

esther on August 7, 2013 at 5:47 pm

This witch doctor should be stripped of his medical license and sent to prison. And I hope Debbie files Qui Tam civil suits against him and his team of hustlers. Watch out though — the “bipartisan” Senate committee that put together the immigration bill will tell you these doctors just want a piece of the American Dream.

Republicans are no better than Democrats on this issue. If one recalls, Mitt Romney vowed on the campaign trail last year to staple a green card to any visa application of skilled workers. Oh, yeah. Just what this country needs — more highly educated Muslim doctors.

Correction: Fata is Lebanese Christian…and so are all of his hired staff at MHO.

But nonetheless, he has committed horrendous crimes and should be made accountable!!

S: WRONG. Some of his staff are Muslim. You’re telling me that Hussein Ali-Ahmad is a Christian? Hilarious. Nice try, but no cigar. DS

Steph on August 7, 2013 at 11:53 am

    Yup.

The thing that’s apparent is Christians AND Muslims do work together. In Lebanon, the Maronite Christians and Shiite Muslim Hezbollah are allies.

In the Middle East, Christians hate us even more than the Muslims do! And they have very little appreciation whether we give or help them or don’t give or don’t help them.

Dr. Fata is not a man who has any appreciation for the well-being of Americans! Sad to say, more like his ilk are going to be allowed to settle in America. To blunt, when we admit them here, we place Americans in mortal danger.

Not that Open Borders AKA Amnesty Crowd can be bothered to acknowledge that not every aspect of immigration to America is a net benefit to this country and its people!

NormanF on August 7, 2013 at 12:26 pm

Can either one of you back up what your saying?
it’s hard to believe that Hussein Ali-Ahmad is Christian but can either side prove one way or the other?

My question was not directed at you but at DS and Steph asking either one to prove that “Fata is Lebanese Christian…and so are all of his hired staff at MHO.” It seemed a ridiculous claim to make and wasn’t in the article, the website or the legal document.

pete on August 8, 2013 at 9:21 am

Steph,

Its the culture. They’re crooked and corrupt over there and they bring that kind of attitude here with them to this country.

Cheating each other – Muslim and Christian – is something they do in the Middle East every day. And here they carry that forward.

If we tolerate it, America will be the worse off for it. People who come to this country should assimilate into American life and embrace our values instead of doing the exact opposite.

Dr. Farid Fata is a warning bell in why that isn’t happening!

NormanF on August 7, 2013 at 12:11 pm

Being buried alive in a landfill would be more than what these human trash passing for doctors would deserve. But first their brains should be removed for study in a search to locate where might be found the region in their skulls is the void where human decency is missing.

It takes a “special” sort of sub-person capable of such depravity. And if asked if they sleep well at night, they just might die laughing.

lee of the lower case "l" on August 7, 2013 at 2:37 pm

It’s not about religion. There are many wonderful Muslim doctors just like there are wonderful Christian doctors. Certainly if being a Christian always meant you were a good person, then you, my friend, would not be a Christian.

Seriously on August 7, 2013 at 2:42 pm

It does not matter whether he is Arab or not. There are many Arabs that are good, and many Arabs that are bad (same goes for Americans, English, Germans, Canadians, etc). The point is that he is a greedy, evil man that abused his position. Not that he is middle-eastern.

Kristen on August 7, 2013 at 2:50 pm

Amir, please note the article referred both to Arabs AND Muslim doctors as being a notable number of those who have committed fraud. Simply showing up in a Christian church every Sunday is a questionable way of being a Christian…like Obama, presumably did at the supremacist church of Reverend Wright.

Obama will force mere citizens to “choose” from a list of these Arabs and Muslims, Amir, and there is no reason not to assume this is worrisome considering the continuing sickness of “Muslim” Supremacists.

Kristen,

What Debbie is saying is that doctors of Middle Eastern background who practice medicine in the U.S. are way over represented amongst doctors who commit fraud. So, while not all doctors from the middle east are cheats and lousy doctors, too many are…

i’ve relocated across the country several times and each time must find a new GP, opthamologist (family history of eye problems) and pharmacy. i solicit doc recommendations from colleagues AND check them out on websites that give a bio on the doc. no bio and he’s off the list with me. no foreign docs… no arab or muslim names. i’ve had to switch pharmacies a few times if i see a hajab behind the counter or see a name tag with an obvious muslim name.

you cannot be too careful with your health, and very life, at the mercy of arabs or muslims.

kirche on August 7, 2013 at 3:51 pm

almost forgot: same thing with dentists.

kirche on August 7, 2013 at 3:51 pm

I won’t go to any minority doctor or dentist, period. Not Asian, Indian, Hispanic or black. It’s a matter of self-preservation, not bigotry.

I’ve worked with plenty when I was in the Army and my wife, an oncology nurse of twenty-some tears, also can attest to this phenomenon, as well as my own, practical experiences.

Sadly, because of grudges, arrogance, envy and/or embitterment from past episodes where they’ve been discriminated against (most Asians or Indians have experiences with white people talking loud to them, blacks all have had experiences of being followed around by store security or see people crossing the street to avoid them at night), you can’t trust minority practitioners to be as caring, accurate or honest as they might otherwise be.

Sure, there are exceptions, but I’m not willing to use myself as a guinea pig nor any member of my family to find out. Not while there are still Italian, Jewish or Anglo doctors and dentists available.

      DS_ROCKS! on August 7, 2013 at 7:34 pm

Debbie has rightly condemned this evil man who called himself a Dr.
Many on this site seem to extrapolate that into very dark places that frankly are a little scary.
You are entitled to your opinions and you can choose a Dr. by any criteria you see fit.
I will continue to judge people on merit and not race. Go to ratemds.com, a great resource to find well qualified Dentists and MDs.

sanjay on August 7, 2013 at 11:51 pm

sanjay: “I will continue to judge people on merit and not race.”

Well, either you missed my point or you just skimmed it and settled on the hackneyed “love is colorblind”, treacly response.

Erm, yeah – *you* can overlook race because minority practitioners overwhelmingly won’t have a grudge against you. You’ll get a fair shake from people of your own race and you probably will get extra gentle treatment by white doctors because of soft racism.

*Me* OYOH, because I’m white have to be extra vigilant dealing with possibly resentful or hostile minority practitioners.

This is a fact of life. To deny it exists is disingenuous at best or, more likely, you’re just being an a$$hole.

          DS_ROCKS! on August 8, 2013 at 6:25 am

DSR, as you can see, sanjay is very virtuous.

I’d add, though, that if a doctor is of Indian ethnicity but born in the US and educated in the US, and is *not* a Muslim, I’d expect him to be safe enough. There are so many Asians generally in medicine that I rather doubt they get much preference. If there is any accent (including British accent) then they’re a no-go, of course.

The problem is that at hospitals you may be stuck with an Amalekite (Muslim). Or you might be stuck with just some dumb schmuck from a bad (or foreign!) medical school.

skzion on August 8, 2013 at 5:37 pm

skzion: of course, you’re right. And that’s are good clue about the English accent. But, those those are the exceptions as I mentioned.

Going back some 30 years or so, I can distinctly remember at least 6 cases where either I was slighted or a member of my family. Two examples were once when I got a bond put on a chipped front tooth at an Indian, he made it absurdly large and used a tool to put two “texture” marks. I was horrified as was the Anglo dentist I went to a few days later to get it fixed. Another invloved my wife who had a mole removed and biopsy-ed by an Asian (Korean, I think) derm and when she put a stitch in, she drew up the sides of wound and it left a permanent little “tent” of skin on her back – like maybe she was in a hurry and not very careful.

Those are two of the six examples I remember and is why I avoid them entirely. I’m tired of wondering if they’re going to be secretly hostile.

Does this surprise you Debbie? From the Taliban Opium industry
to cigarette smuggling in Detroit, to the 9-11 highjackers
slipping dollar bills into the thongs of strippers in Florida
while drinking alcoholic beverages, to the money laundering
that went to terrorist groups, this is has been the pattern.

While Yassir Arafat was in exile, he was running one of the
biggest stolen car rings in the world. More than 100 years
ago, U.S. forces in the Filipines had to fight Muslim Moro
tribesmen, who would get hopped up on speed before an attack.

The problem with Islam is that it recognizes no law or system
of morality. You can violate the tenents of the Koran by
drinking and doing drugs, so long as you advance the faith.

The problem with this “Faith” is that one can lie, steal,
cheat, commit rape (Even children,) and murder innocents
in order to advance their religious agenda.

Islam is like the Borg in Star Trek The Next Generation, it
recognizes no law or moral code, only absolute domination!

Three points for you supposed Israel supporters:
1) Here in Israel, very often we have to use Muslim doctors, especially specialists and almost always we have to use Muslim pharmacists. I had a specialized eye exam and the doctor was a woman in hijab. She was competent and pleasant.

2) The valedictorian of this year’s Medical School class at the Technion University was a woman in hijab.

3) Deal with these facts anyway you choose to but don’t assume I’m happy about it. It’s just the reality of my life.

I am remiss to find any pattern in terms of who commits the most fraud.

The one consensus was that a vast majority of Drs. are honest, but even a small percentage adds up to billions of dollars in fraud.

This “doctor” reminds me, in his “practice,” of an old routine I once heard on some comedy show or record where they parodied medical ads and said something to the effect of “We treat your cancer. If you don’t have any cancer, we can give it to you.”

ConcernedPatriot on August 8, 2013 at 1:38 am

What this guy just did is put a stake through the heart of the claims of the medical establishment as to what are effective treatments for cancer.

This may also explain why the American or National Cancer Institute is back-peddling on the treatment of breast cancer and prostate cancer after 40 years and suggest that both should be treated as “slow tissue growths” that can be lived with.

1. This doctor was submitting data for years that supposedly confirmed and/or supported chemotherapy as a viable treatment for cancer.

Now the medical establishment and the medical journals will have to provide addendums, revisions and corrections to previous statements and publications.

“Chemotherapy effectiveness as a treatment for cancer is under review as a prominent research and doctor was submitting data for subjects that never had cancer to begin with.”

2. Chemotherapy makes subject sick and sometime kills them is what this fraud really proved.

This has been the problem with Chemotherapy all along…and the medical establishment’s PR strategy has been all along, “the benefits outweigh the risks.”

Well the now the benefits are called into question.

And of course while doing this – driving a stake into current cancer research and cancer treatment – he walks away with millions.

Only in America…

Debbie, I agree with the comments on the Muslim doctors. I wish America would stop licensing them. American people should boycott Arab doctors, they are only here to take advantage and make money. My aunt was being treated by Dr. Awada, that other doctor that was arrested. He had my aunt on 25 prescriptions, some of them were for treatment of the same thing but by different drug companies (probably getting some kind of kick back from the company). Others were for treatments of things she didn’t have. My aunt has NEVER had a seizure, but he had her on seizure medication. PLEASE, PLEASE boycott Arab doctors. If they realize we won’t go to them, maybe they will stop coming here to practice.

I’m thinking of changing my user name. I’m just bored with “Italkit.” I chose it for a specific reason. I will not be doing this to hide and will let you know it’s me. Just have to think of something.

Italkit on August 8, 2013 at 8:07 am

testing new name

Italkit is now “Bat Devorah”

Just found out my new doctor at the VA is a muslim lady. This makes me even MORE nervous about it.

Sean M on August 8, 2013 at 8:25 am

i wonder if obamacare will “reduce unexpected costs” by signing up cheaper foreign docs… and we’ll soon have no choice to see muslim docs. obamboozle would love to see as all forcefully dhimmified for our medical care. and as the muslim docs start jihading on the infidel patients they despise, it will be spun as being our fault…

something to think about.

Can anybody here show concrete facts with numbers for this statement of Debbie that “a significant percentage of doctors and other healthcare professionals who commit healthcare fraud are Muslims, Arabs, or both”. I don’t want your opinions but but just hard facts.

BBC on August 8, 2013 at 12:36 pm

Sadly our VA hospitals are crawling with such vermin performing they’re brand of quackery on our veterans and in some cases committing absolute murder under the guise of proper treatment.

MANGOG on August 8, 2013 at 1:50 pm

Your words here are disgusting. Yes, he is Middle-Easter, but no – he is not a Muslim; he is a Christian. Your references to “infidels” are meant to stir racist anger. You are worse than him.

why? on August 8, 2013 at 3:24 pm

Welcome to American system. you got many Doctors like him that we as people do not know. How do you think a doctor get that rich. by doing all this shit. He should be ashamed and for the lifes he took should be send to prison and hanged. Fuck the money who cares about some paper. All i care that how can you experiment with people that are fighting death. That was a research and in same time get the money. Thats what kind of doctors become from the schools here. you have doctors that sell pills ( strong pain pills for them to be rich). Doctors when they work in the hospitals they get 80 dollars per hour. and plus clinic and plus what ever they do on the side dirty shit. I pray for all the family’s that lost they love ones. I WANT TO SAY SORRY AND GOD WILL GIVE HIM THE JUDGMENT. i WORK IN THE HEALTHCARE AND WHAT I DO I LOVE IT NOT BECAUSE OF THE MONEY BUT BECAUSE I WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN MY PATIENTS LIFE. I WANT MY PTs TO GO HOME HEALTHY AND BE WITH THEIR LOVED ONES. i DEDICATED MY LIFE AND STILL AM TO HEALTHCARE BECAUSE ONE OF MY LOVED ONES DIED FROM CANCER AND THIS HAPPEND BECAUSE THE DOCTOR DID NOT USE STERILE PROCEDURE DURING OPERATION AND DID NOT GIVE FUCK. ALL THIS DOCTORS CARE IS ABOUT MONEY. MOST PEOPLE WANT TO BECOME NURSES AND DOCTORS FOR THE MONEY THEY TAKE. THAT IS WRONG AND THIS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED. I PRAY TO GOD THAT THEY FIND HIM GUILTY AND BURN HIM.

Good general rule of thumb is to go with your gut.
My gut always says leave when they look like that guy. Usually any accent will run me out anymore. Not a huge fan of the accents or repressive country of origins.
Anybody trying to defend this guy or his ilk deserve to be treated by them exclusively. My sons experiences with them were almost enough to kill him. His Marine tats probably made him a target. I am glad he listened to me and didn’t get the “Infidel” tattoo across his back. They usually get away with everything due to their protected status.
When possible, go with the chosen.

he is not a muslim ,however his alleged actions do not represent all Lebanese christian

Truth on August 9, 2013 at 12:26 am

You’ve ‘noted’ that many healthcare professionals who commit fraud are Muslims? Seriously? How ignorant are you?

Do you have numbers to back that claim up? Do you compare the fraud rate against the proportion of Muslims who are in healthcare? It’s entirely possible that there are a higher percentage of middle-easterners who are doctors.

What about Christians? You know, the thieves at Enron and HealthSouth who committed massive fraud. Or the ones at Wall Street who started and then banked on the recent housing market crash. Or every US politician ever who was corrupt. Christians greatly outnumber Muslims in this country and commit vastly more crimes. You should note them as well. But you won’t, because you’re a bigot.

This is the ONLY intelligent response written on this hateful and factless article. I cannot believe all the racist comments people type behind the protection of a message board. As despicable as Fata is, nobody here with their racist, ignorant and hateful words has any room to judge. You are all hypocrites.

A significant percentage of financiers, bankers and traders who commit financial fraud are of Jewish descent.

Tyronee Carter on August 11, 2013 at 5:13 pm

Farid Fata founded a charity called the “Swan for Life Foundation” that lists, on its website, many corporations among its donors. The doctor’s wife, Samar E. Fata, is listed in various places as the co-founder, CFO and contact for the charity. I expect that the many frauds may extend to that charity as well.

I don’t know if you missed this one – another Middle Eastern doctor has been in the news. Atiq Durrani, a citizen of Pakistan, practicing bad medicine near Cincinnati, Ohio,is accused of performing unnecessary surgery on numerous patients in order to increase his Medicare take. He faces federal fraud charges as well as numerous civil malpractice suits filed by his former patients.

Rose B. on August 11, 2013 at 6:12 pm

Farid Fata is not a Muslim, he is a Lebanese Maronite Christian. Your reporting is inappropriate as it distastefully mislabels all Muslims. Moreover, the fact that Dr. Farid Fata is Christian ( a true fact) and not a Muslim, it only illustrates the fact that your forum is slanted towards spewing hate messages and “anti-Islam” slogans. Why? This is not “free speech” rather it is a hate forum. I cannot believe your website exists in this multiracial, religiously diverse and culturally integrated environment. I’m sure the Feds are looking into your site as well.

OMG, Debbie is such a racist and bigot. This guy (Farid Tanios Fata, MD) is a Christian Lebanese and not Muslim, you could even tell from his middle name “Tanios”.

Is your Egyptian doctor a burglar? Beverly Hills surgeon Ehab Aly Mohamed practiced cosmetic surgery even though he was in the U.S. illegally, his visa having been revoked in 2006. After 61-year-old Sharon Carpenter Nicholson, one of his patients, died on the operating table in 2010, investigators discovered that he had lied about his medical credentials and his license was revoked. At that point, in order to raise money so that he could move to France and open a practice there, Dr. Mohamed tried to sell medical equipment worth $20,000 to a health spa in Connecticut. The trouble was – the equipment was not his to sell, and he was convicted by a jury of attempted grand theft. Our government tried to deport the thief-cum-doctor, but a federal judge decided that he could not be deported to Egypt. Did the doctor find another calling? He sure did! He was arrested on commercial burglary and fraud charges after trying to open a bank account with a fictitious cashiers check. In July, he was found guilty of forgery and burglary, and potentially faces multiple years in jail. The Los Angeles D.A.’s office is still investigating the death of Dr. Ehab Mohamed’s patient.
