I wonder if something is coming down the pike and she doesn’t want to be the head of DHS when it arrives. We will probably never know the true extent of the damage and injury which she has both inflicted and allowed with regard to our country. Of course, she crawls to California, the “sick man of America,” which is a morally, financially and politically bankrupt state. She will make a fine fit. Well, Deb, as you say: The University of California Regents are morons for hiring this oaf-ette.
Rest assured the Regents are INDEED all abject morons, and have been so for many years now. I live right near UCSD and it is a vortex for screwed up “thinking.” The student body recently voted to urge UC to divest any and all connections to “the apartheid state” of Israel. The coffee shop where all the cool, hip, in-the-know collegians hang out is called the Che’ Cafe–been there for years and years now. I believe (and I’m not kidding) they have something like 75 vice-chancellors of “diversity, equity, and inclusion” and diversity classes–whatever they are–are a requirement for a BA. The campus is abuzz with Muslim student groups, La Raza, etc. etc. It’s the diversity university! Diversity of everything except thought.

On the plus side, I’m told if you stick to medicine and engineering and math, and that sort of thing (but NOT Earth Sciences) you can actually get educated, rather than just indoctrinated, there. The world is full of surprises.

“Elite” colleges already base their undergraduate admissions 50% on various types of affirmative action, and graduate admissions not that much, but still significantly.

Putting people like Napolitano in charge of campuses like Berkeley just accelerates the trend towards mediocrity. There might be little enclaves like Physics that are mostly immune, but the enclaves are getting smaller.

An example is the History of Art department at Berkeley. Still considered one of the best in the country, I’m afraid its days in that category are numbered. Candidates for the PhD should keep in mind the likely descent into mediocrity that will characterize this department and others like it.

Demolition is now officially successful/the agencies have been destroyed.

How’s about appointing a male gay to “head” DHS, thats the only group that has not been in charge at the commisioner level, all the legacy INS clowns that benefitted from the merger and got gS-13 and above pay grades, now feel that they deserve to “head” DHS, give them a shot; standards are very low, INS low, hows about a good ol’ boy who dont like “messikins”, one with a GED or less, that worked busting wets by the busloads single handidly.
