Which is More Sickening: PC v. Paula Deen . . . or Her Endless Apology World Tour? Allies w Racist Jesse Jackson

By Debbie Schlussel

Last Friday, I wrote on this site that Paula Deen did something most Americans would never do: tell the truth in a sworn deposition. She admitted to privately using the N-word, when she could have lied about it. And, now, she’s paying the PC price. Still, in the week since then, I’ve grown less sympathetic to Paula Deen, even though she’s the victim of a double standard never applied to Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and Rev. Jeremiah Wright. That’s because I find her endless groveling and pandering to be utterly disgusting. Has she no shame? Or, more important, has she no pride and self-respect to stand up for herself? Apparently not. And, now, she’s allying with the ultimate arbiter of racism, race pimp Jesse Jackson. I guess this is in the “takes one to know one” category. Ditto for her latest defender, Al Sharpton. Both of these clowns have openly attacked Whites and Jews for decades, and, yet, no apologies, sponsor losses, or firings for them. Clearly, Miz’ Paula needs to get a tan . . . STAT.

“Please Black People and Liberals, Like Me, Like Me, Liiiiike Me!”

Whoever is advising Ms. Deen in public relations is a moron. Her endless apology videos, her shameless crying episode on the “Today” show, and all of her continued Mea Culpa World Tour is a disaster. And it’s nauseating. Stand up for yourself, woman. Did she ever consider saying, “Hey, I answered honestly about something I could have lied about. I did this decades ago, and I said I’m sorry. And it’s time to move on. And it’s time for you to grill Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and Jeremiah Wright–and the Obamas who sat in Wright’s racist, anti-Semitic, anti-American church for more than two decades–about what they said.” But the woman doesn’t have the guts and instead of calling the real racists out, she allies with them. Maybe they can open the Ebony and Ivory “No You Di’in’t” Soul Food Hut together. She should have told Matt Lauer off and ripped him a new posterior orifice, but instead she did an overwrought crying routine that is embarrassing. (She’s a crass woman with a history of being embarrassing.)

Paula Deen’s proven she’s just like everyone else in the entertainment biz, who will whore themselves out to remain on TV and in the public eye and save their fame from total destruction. She will say whatever she has to in order to appease the race merchants. And for that, she gets zero sympathy from me. None whatsoever. In fact, she’s turned herself into the biggest PC critic of Paula Deen that there is. And she can write her epitaph with that . . . and with her strange new alliances with America’s Black David Dukes.

And speaking of morons, that’s also a great description of Deen’s lawyers. They should have known what their client’s responses to the questions about the N-word were ahead of time and sought a protective order from the court sealing the contents of the deposition–something frequently done even in cases in which the deponent is not a celebrity. But they clearly didn’t do either of these things, when they should have done both. Or they should have advised her to settle the lawsuit, knowing that publicity from honestly answering the N-word question would be devastating to her and her career in our PC/”you must pay ‘cuz I’m offended!” culture. Don’t they remember Don Imus (PC faux-conservative hypocrite Michelle Malkin demanded he be fired, then did a 180 when she realized the conservative tide was not on her side) and “Kramer” a/k/a Michael Richards?

When people criticized Paula Deen for her fatty recipes and hiding the fact that she had diabetes, I stood up for her. But Paula Deen’s disgusting grovel-fest in response to the hyperbolic grievance theater makes me want to throw them all in a vat of fat and leave them to duke it out to the death.

In that case, I couldn’t care less who wins.

*** From my post, last Friday:

Who would admit to doing that? Hey, at least she’s honest. Most people would lie about this, even under oath in depositions or otherwise, and deny it. When there is as much uproar about Black racism against White people, then I’ll know that America has finally woken up and equality has truly been achieved.

That’s my story, and I’m stickin’ to it.

Great post and take, Debbie. Add “P.R. expert” to the list of areas within your expertise.

And this made me lol: ” Maybe they can open the Ebony and Ivory “No You Di’in’t” Soul Food Hut together. ”

And on the subject, Dwayne “Dog” Chapman did successfully save his career after a similar public lynching for being caught saying the word, “n*gger.”

I believe this sums up the perspective of everyone involved (Paula Deen, race merchants Sharpton and Jackson, etc.):

Its all about the money.

Great question and asked in the proper measure.

I pick the PC-ness. I just can’t bare it and it makes me hate fake people more than ever.

You’re spot-on about her apology tour (as someone I followed tweeted…”I’ll never quite understand why some people deal with rejection by going on a campaign to prove themselves 100% worthy of being rejected.”).

And even more so with the vermin she uses to redeem herself. I’d rather be seen as raaaaacist than saddle up to those effers.

But I do feel sorry…I think it’s because the PC-ness and fakeness of people (and herd-mentality) REALLY bug me. It’s what makes me most agro. It’s palpable and it sickens me.

But you are correct. She is a crass woman and I am more shocked and put off by her nasty behaviour also noted in this summer scandal take-down than the raaaaacist twaddle.

I’m more sickened by the hoards of phonies thinking that they are better when they prolly have some skeletons in their closet. Or treat other peeps horribly on a daily basis. It’s the human condition I have come to abhor!

I learned VERY young. Read this kicky little short story if one hasn’t yet…Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery”…

http://sites.middlebury.edu/individualandthesociety/files/2010/09/jackson_lottery.pdf

I read it in single digits and NEVER forgot it.

(Matt Lauer should just STFU. He’s a real piece of crap and it scummy pieces of vomit like him that make me hate the phony haters more than the dopey persons being taken down. With all he has done he should not sit in his reverse-chia-pet seat and act all high and mighty and above it all!)

Skunky on June 27, 2013 at 5:18 pm

Paula Deen had the misfortune to have this happen right at the height of all the uproar connected with the start of the Treyvon Martin trial, occurring in the South, Paula Deen’s home territory. The publicity about this trial has exacerbated the anti-White, especially anti-Southern-White atmosphere that always exists to begin with in the media.

While I, too, would have preferred to see her fight, I am more sympathetic to her, because, after all, she is the victim. She is an older person, possibly overwhelmed by what has happened to her, and might see this as the only way for her to survive. She does have company, all the corporations that Jesse, Al and the rest of them have bludgeoned, as well as so many politicians of both parties, college presidents, etc. etc.

I do agree about her lawyers. Another thing they possibly could have done is, beforehand, limit the scope of the deposition to deal only with very specific and limited topics related to the lawsuit. With her money, she quite possibly would have been able to do this, and overwhelm her adversary.

Little Al on June 27, 2013 at 5:37 pm

LA, she’s not that old. Some of us older people who’ve survived adversity are tougher than you young’uns who haven’t been tested yet. She’s a successful business woman. I really doubt she’s “overwhelmed.” Maybe she isn’t “standing up for herself” because she only told a half truth, She said what she said then but yes, she still thinks it now. All she’s said is that it was no big deal back then, which is wrong but the unspoken message, is that she’s learned not to say such stupid and awful things whether it’s PC or it’s bad for business or she doesn’t want to get sued or it IS for real. If it’s for real, no one is going to believe her as Debbie said so she is right to keep quite but we may never know if she’s sincere or not. I tend to be suspicious of an obscure restaurant owner rising to such fame so suddenly with a less than spectacular product. I think she is being used and maybe doesn’t or didn’t even know it.

Lol, Italkit, our resident Israeli welfare bum, who spends her time here insulting regulars with trumped up charges of racism against Sephardim, is now comparing herself to a successful businesswoman. And, she’s dismissing Little Al as a “young’un.”

skzion on June 27, 2013 at 7:05 pm

I thought you were an educated man. I guess that’s another one of your fabrications, like your orientation. RIF! I said PAULA was a successful business woman. I didn’t say I was. I wouldn’t want to be, a business woman, that is. What I did say was, when one gets older one is less flustered by these situations, if one is being truthful. LA may not be particularly young but usually people over 40 don’t refer to people in their 60’s as being old enough to be mentally frail. His statement about Paula being old points to him being at most 32-33 and that would be a bit old for such an infantile statement.

I don’t care what you call me, SK but be honest with your supposed buds here and tell them the truth about yourself.

Poor Paula, weeping into her southern fried turd burgers. I guess all that campaigning for the effeminate obama did’nt pay off. Her downward spiral into political correctness Hades is spectacular to witness. Continue the grovelling, it makes for great comedy!

Get off the stage NOW you blubbering fool.

She was a big Obama supporter, BTW.

I agree with Debbie 100% in regards to this article. I told a few of my white friends, that Ms Deen should get props for telling the truth, as they say in the streets, she kept it “real.” She could have easily lied like everyone else does. My white friends jokingly teased me, and said, wow D is siding with the Oakies.
Its not that I side with anyone, but all the people that are pointing the finger at Ms Deen, are hypocrites, and people talk like her in private everyday (bigoted jokes, crudeness, etc) and they are not and i repeat not racist. I for one think it would be a classic gesture for Oprah to give Paula a cooking show on her network. That would be awesome and shut everyone up, Mel Gibson gets a pass, Vick gets a pass, I thought this was a nation of second chances.
As a black man, the reality is, that the bloods and crips have killed more blacks than the KKK and in shorter time. I am not concerned if some middle aged white woman tells a joke using the n*gg*r, does’t make her racist, uncouth yes, but not racist. Well thats my opinion and im sticking to it.

Big D on June 27, 2013 at 6:50 pm

At first I thought amazingly honest and maybe looking for redemption but now I’m thinking stupid?

migraine boy on June 27, 2013 at 7:13 pm

Deen’s alliance with the black supremacist shakedown artists is certainly disgusting.

I dunno. I’d side with Deen if I didn’t know that her capitulation just strengthened the shakedown artists for future robberies. While Deen isn’t exactly filthy rich, she has millions. She had the resources not to grovel.

Commander Zero on June 27, 2013 at 8:05 pm

Stupid, stupid, stupid. I wouldn’t stand within 30 feet of Jesse Jackson, let alone figuratively with him. The sight of him or Al the idiot are enough to induce vomiting. Groveling for these peoples seal of approval is disgusting.
I would also not give a thought about something I said 20-30 years ago. Most of the stuff I said back then was 100% true, but not real PC. THANK GOODNESS there were no cell phone cameras to catch any stupid stuff I did, let alone said. There were polaroids though, but I made sure to keep track of those.

samurai on June 27, 2013 at 8:04 pm

While I agree with you Debbie, I just can’t help but have some sympathy for Deen. I’m not even a fan of hers, but I hate to see someone railroaded for basically nothing when people like you mentioned had no consequences.

It would be nice for someone to, for once, stand up and just tell the PC creeps to take a hike. Just admit they’ve said the N word and tell the race baiters to take a hike.

Like someone else said, this is all about the $$$$$$$$$$.

Here we have bimbos writing love letters to that Boston bomber, but yet Deen is the one who is the most evil person in the world.

Debbie, I totally agreed about her lawyers, but it is Savannah. Why the lawyers did not seal the complaint and deposition and settle this the minute it was filed is beyond me. Did they not realize she is global? She needs to fire them. Sadly, I think it is a matter of hometown girl thought she was untouchable. I find the tolerance of her brother’s habits in workplace more offensive than anything, just asking for trouble. I agree the Lauer interview was horrible. Paula, please take a holiday to Europe, get new lawyers, and clean up the organization and fire the brother or send him to rehab. We still love you though, just think you need to realize the errors here all around.

I may be mistaken on this, but I read somewhere that Ms. Deen was a supporter of Obama in both 2008 and 2012. Talk about payback . . .

ConcernedPatriot on June 27, 2013 at 11:03 pm

Maybe the Reverend (Who has a child out of wedlock) Jackson can take Ms. Deen to Hymietown, oh Jackson would mean New York, and have Al Sharpton meet them there to discuss black – Jewish and white relations, which Sharpton was so good at with the late Yankel Rosenbaum, the victims at Freddie’s Fashion Mart (white interloper he said) and of course Tawana Brawley.

Concerned Citizen on June 27, 2013 at 11:40 pm

Concerned Citizen, yes, “Hymietown” indeed. What’s amusing is that ol’ Jesse “apologized” for his comments that occurred in a presidential campaign, as I expect you know. Deen apologizes for an ancient comment, and Jesse has a problem with the apology?

Well, are the latest news reports are not just about Paula Dean saying n____r?!?!!!! This is also about the fact she admitted to planning a slave themed wedding, not decades ago, either. I forget the year this was done, rather recent. Reports of this aspect of the story seem to have disappeared or are now being played down. But some of the posters here have alluded to her not exactly being God. That wedding story, is how did DaVinci say it, over ze top?

But that’s not why I called, gang. Some of your stuff was great, too. Funny, educational, profound. Back in NYC area, getting ready for chiropractor tamari.

Just wanted to tell Debbie, . . .

“Maybe they can open the Ebony and Ivory “No You Di’in’t” Soul Food Hut together.”

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAHHHHHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!

God love you.

I love you.

Over and out.

Alfredo from Puerto Rico on June 28, 2013 at 12:00 am

@AfPP: I almost forgot about the Civil War slave theme wedding thing. Wonder why the media dropped that one like a hot potato? Could it be the families or persons involved, like some famous celebrities or Politicians perhaps? No one named the bride and groom and I’m sure it was more their idea than Paula’s so where’s the rest of the story? This inquiring mind wants to know dammitt!
The fact that the “RACIST” Paula Deen was an Obama supporter twice raises a few questions too, or…
…maybe…just maybe,.. Paula’s “career” was already heading down the toilet anyway and this was just a way to give it a little kick in the pants? There’s no such thing as bad publicity, or so they say in Hollyweird.

theShadow on June 28, 2013 at 2:53 am

Debbie is right on about how horribly this whole thing was handled. Paula Dean has damaged her brand in the past few days by this “apology tour”.

A lot of people are hypocritical about these kind of things. But ultimately The Food Network made their decision before any massive protest was lodged. It was obviously a preemptive strike to save themselves any embarrassment or more importantly, a hit to their bottom line.

I am sure a good PR person would tell her to be contrite and apologize. then stay out of the news cycle for awhile.

Lets not inject race into this. Mel Gibson was widely criticized and has lost movie roles ; rightly I might add, for his anti-Semitic statements.
Plus Shirley Sherrod was forced to resign over supposed racist comments she had made.
The PC police spares no one.

sanjay on June 28, 2013 at 2:37 am

I agree that it’s stupid of poor Paula Deen not to realize that no matter how many mea culpas she wails, she is out of work. Anyone out there knows her, please tell her that for me.

But please also tell her that there must be, among those who have joined the anti-Paula Deen wolf pack, many people who have told, in the course of their lives, redneck jokes or dumb jock jokes or anti-fat jokes, and I hope they all wake up, one morning, and find out that poor Southern Whites or athletes or obese people have been transferred to the protected list and they are out of work. Every dog has its day!

Then, if undeniable proof to the contrary immediately surfaced, she could angrily say that it was a “private” matter, and that it was nobody else’s business.

Since writing my comments yesterday, I have become aware that Ms. Deen has had a history of anxiety and panic attacks. The sites where I read this were developed prior to the recent events.

Under the circumstances, a person’s judgment under pressure, while, in this case, not the best, is understandable as an emotional reaction to an intense personal crisis.

While she might be a crass person and a wealthy person, she can still be subject to emotional turmoil, and, after all, is indeed the victim even with her crassness and wealth.

And Italkit, we are all different, and not everyone reacts to crises the same way.

Little Al on June 28, 2013 at 11:41 am

Little Al, I read your initial post and like almost always, I agreed and liked the well-rounded points you brought up.

The silly one fill of pique and most probably narcissism that responded to you will not be taken seriously like well-minded persons…Mensa members or not. (And I am not a Mensa Member FTR).

Or perhaps she can blame it on Aaaaaaaaaspergers. Those peeps are usually preternaturally smart but socially awkward. Not narcissistic and competitive liars.

I’m still trying to figure out how she can call someone a “sodomite” yet then say they are really hetero and not homosexual. The things that make you go “Hmmmmm”.

WICKED is the proper word that nicely summed her up. Wicked, indeed.
