Not all the Christians are like this – some like the Chaldeans are patriotic and law-abiding.

But its a reminder that many Arab Christians are dhimmi spear carriers for Islamic terrorists and identify with and share in their goals.

We should not automatically assume all Middle Eastern Christians will assimilate into American life and culture. John Zawahri’s rampage is a good example of what happens when we don’t make the effort to ensure immigrants conform to our values and our way of life.

That’s another reason to oppose mass amnesty.

Debbie, you hit the nail on the head when you pointed out that these people move to this country and then do NOT assimilate. The whole “diversity” and “multi-culti” BS that was shoved down our throats over the last 20+ years has led to a lot of social problems in our country. I recently read a book called “Life at the Bottom,” by Theodore Dalrymple. He writes about the slums of London, and how the “peacefully co-exist” crowd has created a situation where people come from other countries as savages, and then are not expected to behave civilly in their new host country. In England they even have sections of cities where they allow sharia law to rule because they got sick of fighting with the Muslims. We have large populations of people who grew up in a sub-human culture and we are just supposed to accept that people who behave like savages are just as good as our more civilized American culture. And I am not ruling out the native-born Americans who behave like savages either. Just go to any urban environment. You aren’t gong to see a hole lot of white people rioting just because it gets hot outside.

This is a huge mistake and we have the left to thank for it. Their plan is to divide and conquer.

I do not understand why more has not been printed about this Arab who went on a killing rampage. I agree with you that by allowing so many of them in our country, our country is asking for this same action to occur again. They do not assimilate, and their schools teach by the Koran, a hate filled book, calling for the death of Jews and Infidels (which is anyone who is not a Muslim), hate for America and calls for using Sharia Law in America. Those children grow up hating Americans and America. There is nothing you can do to change that attitude toward America, even though they live here in peace and enjoy benefits from our governments. Many of the Muslims are in our country illegally. Many came thru the Northern Border with Canada, and thru our border with Mexico. They are waiting for amnesty under the new bill. There are many stories about various crimes by Muslims which are not making the news. I wonder why.

this article reminds me of the best book i’d read that explains the entire muslim-arab-middle east culture and mindset, ‘the arab mind’ by raphael patel. it’s a somewhat dry academic book but very enlightening. patel describes both the unique differences between the muslim and the arab, as well as how the interplay with each other.

Being known as a “Christian” does not necessarily indicate what a person’s morals, political beliefs, or even personal religious beliefs are. That Lebanese punk could have been a closet muslim, (They are taught that deception and lying for the cause is OK)or could have been a devil worshipper, scientologist or atheist for all we know. I remember hearing people who grew up in Detroit talking about Chaldeans in the schools being clickish, clannish, and bullies. I noticed that almost all “Christian” arabs I have known, have been gun nuts. Don’t get me wrong, I am too, but, every one of them I have ever known, knows the “tools of the trade”.
Another thing, that most people don’t know, or wouldn’t believe, if they did, is that Arabs have been cursed by G-d. They are living under a curse. I can dig out the Old Testament (Torah?) verses later, I can’t recall them from memory. Being under a curse like that doesn’t completely short circuit free will, but it sure gives a person or a people a lot on their plate. It also serves as a warning to the rest of us. And,not having a politically correct bone in my body, I am a firm believer in profiling. The ancestor of the Arab people,(I can’t recall his name right now) was described as a wild man, like a wild ass, and always warring against his brothers, according to the scriptures. I think it’s time we hit the brakes on all immigration until we can get things sorted out as far as what kind of country we want to have. But, the dumbasses in our government, big business and big labor don’t want to do that. They care more about getting the lawn cut cheap, or getting votes than they do about freedom and safety.

Once you’ve done that you can explain why mass migration of people from those cultures is just as valuable as mass migration from more peaceful places in the world.

After that try analyzing why America is actually obligated to allow anybody to immigrate into the US in first place if it doesn’t serve her national interest.

Allow me to add my own 2 cents to this “Islam is an ideology not a race” argument. With all respect to those who subscribe to it.

All organized religions champion the supremacy of one race or political entity over another.

All organized religions exist as a form of crowd control when imposed on conquered peoples.

All organized regions espoused beliefs and ethics practised by the cultures that spawned them.

If I were to apply these 3 points, and take the history of western civilization into account, then our traditions and cultures are more Greco-Roman-Babylonian than Judaeo-Xtian – we are all defined by the application of these traditions than anything from the Bible, Tanakh or Talmud.

By extension, everything that we take for granted as westerners were originally imposed on us by conquerors, be they Babylonian, Persian, Greek or Roman. Simple example: if it weren’t for the Romans, we wouldn’t be using this alphabet to post things like this. And don’t forget the plumbing and all the fine architecture.

And the horrible reality is that there will always be a clash of cultures, societies, civilizations and races, as it was then, as it is now, and as it will always be in the future.

To those who complain that Debbie’s article is racist verging on genocidal, news flash, Muffins: if you want to thrive in a certain society, it’s best that you need to behave as if you are part of it. Meaning that some your own rules of conduct neither apply nor be tolerated. When you play the game, you stick to its rules and you’ll make it. Settling scores in the same way as you would back in the Old Country will not make you friends or garner any sense of sympathy/empathy. That is what Debbie is pointing out. Plus, she’s a lawyer and she has the facts.

To those of Hebraic persuasions concerned about racial/religious hatred and fear another Kristallnacht and Sho’ah against the poor Arab/Muslim people, ask yourselves this: have we not sat shiva long enough. Those on the other side who have perished in WW II (and other wars BTW) are probably wondering why we have ceased living and being ourselves on their account. I am Lebanese and my great-grandparents immigrated to this country many years ago, with not much in their pockets. We are Christians who work hard, have earned college degrees, some of us are doctors, some business people (and not owners of falafel stores as someone rudely stated), some teachers, some musicians, some home makers. My grandfather was a US Army Ranger in WW2. We grew up with other similar Lebanese families. We volunteer in our communities and serve our country. Some of us are politically conservative, some more liberal. We are perhaps not unlike many of your friends or family, although I fear that thought may disgust you. What is your opinion of me? Should my great-grandparents have been turned away? If you looked at me, would you honestly believe that I may go on a killing spree at any moment because it is “in my blood?” That line of thinking is disgraceful and offends me. I do not have one violent bone in my body, and of the hundreds of Lebanese friends, family, and acquaintances I have, not one has committed an act of violence. I am in no way commenting on what goes on in the Middle East–I’m talking about good people who grew up in and live in America today. I am saddened that you encourage people to think this way, and am ashamed at those of you who decide to support hate against me and my loved ones. Arab Christians exhibit a particular trend, which can be summed up by the term ‘Islamo-Christian’. One thing that Islam is is a vehicle for Arab supremacy: the Quran has to be read only in Arabic, allah doesn’t hear anyone’s prayers unless they are in Arabic, Mohammed himself said that the Arabs are the best of people and decreed that the only legitimate leaders of all Muslims have to be from the Arabian peninsula. (Which is why, initially, al Qaeda didn’t have even close aides of Osama who were Egypt Arabs in the leadership chain, until of course all the peninsula Arabs got decimated or captured).

Islam is thus the ultimate vehicle for Arab supremacy, and nowhere is this better borne out than in countries where Arab and non-Arabs are side by side – best examples being Iraq & Sudan. In Iraq, they had that continual bloodbath against Kurds, and in Darfur, you had Arab Muslims persecute Black Muslims on the grounds that they were insufficiently Islamic, since they weren’t Arabs. So for Arab Christians, it’s impossible to demonstrate any loyalty to their Arab roots w/o rooting for Islam, and hence the trends discussed in the above story about Arab Christians being more like Arab Muslims than American Christians.

Such a trend is less pronounced in non-Arab countries – Iranian or Paki Zoroastrians, Jews or Christians are not pro-Muslim the way the Arabs are.

Here are some hard doses of reality – and something that we should all recognize.

First, welcome to the forum. As you can tell, some of us are more prejudiced than others mainly due to what happened to us or to our families. Some more set in their ways than others. We don’t always think alike, but we all believe that fascism in any form is evil.

Finally, Debbie’s rant is about all the FOB who never learned how to act in a new society, who assumed that since this is the land of the free they could do as they please. Moving to a new country isn’t like moving to a new neighbourhood – there are values to be uphold, traditions to be respected.

Your people, sadly, don’t have a good track record when it comes to relations with other races (mainly Euro, but also African and Asian). Considering the fact that Islam has permeated virtually most of the Arab culture, it makes those who refuse to participate in all those tribal reindeer games look very suspect, if not bad.

Because of a few bad apples amongst the mullahs, imams and muftis, all Arabs are tarred and feathered with the same brush. Make no mistake – whites, blacks, asians, X-tians, Jews get it from all sides as well. But history – at least from a Western European/North American perspective – has pointed out the fanaticism of Muslim Arabs that should have been neutralized by X-tian European constructs such as the Enlightenment and liberal democracy.

So if you feel offended, that’s understandable. You’re entitled to it. (And I hate using that word liberally.) But realize that these beefs will not go away that quickly, mainly because as humans, we can hold grudges. And they stick like white on rice.

Get some better armour if you want to play – it can get quite rough over here.

I don’t even know what to say, here. This is pure ignorance; but then again, this whole blog is. Absolutely nauseating. You think you know what you’re talking about, everything makes sense within your closed system of bigotry, but none of it holds up. Should I even engage in an argument? Chances are it will fall upon deaf ears — as only the mentally deaf would write and regularly read such horrendous pieces of so-called commentary.

I will say this: familiarize yourself with the actual cultures your shamelessly trashing, and read some history for God’s sake. You will find, unfortunately, that to the extent there is cultural distortion within the Middle East, there has been historic violence perpetrated by the US. Who, exactly, has the violent culture?

Furthermore, your claims about immigrant violence perpetrated by middle easterners don’t hold any water. There is no huge danger or threat of Arab immigrants coming to commit acts of violence on Americans (all of whom are, of course, immigrants — no matter how bad you want to close the door behind you); you hear about a sensationalist case here or there by hacks with agendas such as the author of this pure shit, and all of sudden it’s pandemonium. Just like this whole fear of Sharia law; absolutely baseless, as shown by even a glance at the cold hard facts. But Ms. Schlussel loves it, either way; she’s making money off of it, what does she care about truth or ethics?

Once upon a time I used to have a genocidal hatred towards Muslims and Arabs who wanted to impose their will upon whose who were different from them, especially the mullahs who wanted to start Jihad.

But then I took an arrow to the knee.

Or to be more precise, I decided that unfocused hatred is not the answer. It will not solve problems. I t cannot pay my bills.

I’ve also learned not to feed trolls. Trolls want attention for attention’s sake. They see angry comments from regulars like me and want to stoke the fires a little hotter.

I’m not saying that you’re both trolls. But sometimes youhave to draw the line between honest criticism and irrational breast-beating. Right now, you two are doing the latter. And it sucks.

I mentioned the fact that all Arabs are getting it from all sides mainly because throughout history some self-proclaimed messiahs have led them to conflicts against the Europeans to spread the faith by the sword. Even before the arrival of Islam, Arabs were waging wars against various neighbouring tribes and against each other. Having clan loyalties didn’t help matters much, although in a harsh desert environment they do prove to be helpful in survival.

I don’t need to repeat myself: I’ve already written up my 2 cents in response to another poster. But here’s what you need to know about Debbie Schussel.

a) She’s a lawyer. She gets the facts, processes them, displays them.

b) She’s like your most opinionated aunt/sister/cousin – if she finds something wrong, she’ll say it, filters be damned. If she finds something that she likes, she’ll hype it up. Not all of us agree with her, but damnit, dudes, this is her blog, and she’s entitled to her opinion.

(Let it be known, for the record, that I hate the word “entitled” mainly because it’s one of the most abused words/phrases in the English language, next to “I’m sorry”.)

c) She doesn’t suffer fools gladly. You make one accusation, she’ll fire back, usually twice as hard. Remember – she’s a lawyer.

So gentlemen/ladies/peeps, put away the booze, get back on your meds, mind the caps lock, take a deep breath, and start putting forward some arguments rather than pulling your hair out in blind rage. Because right now, you’re looking like a couple of tools with nothing better to do with your spare time.

As for the religion and Sharia and prophets and everything else, I couldn’t care less. I am an atheist.

Some of you are lucky to live in regions of our country that see very few immigrants from this part of the world. I, unfortunately, do not. On the coastal cities of the US, we receive a flood of them. I have strong concerns that America is losing all ability to assimilate these people. I went to a Costco last week and it felt like I was in a spice road bazaar.

A gentleman from Afghanistan mentioned to me that his country doesn’t need airports and high-speed data infrastructure (at US taxpayer’s expense, by the way); it needs railroads and trains. That simple observation is telling. We’re trying to civilize countries that don’t have the basic prerequisites to live among the civilized. In our history, think about the awful periods we had to traverse: slavery of the colonial period, child labor during the industrial era, oppression of native peoples, etc. There are countries that are still on the first page of development. So are their peoples.

That tribal hostility that Ms. Schlussel describes is a scary and real thing in these countries. Why would we expect those traits to immediately disappear after they arrived? The huge increase in their populations in the US make the transition to our values more difficult.

I thought that a new generation of kids whose parents were from these countries would lead the transition, but I haven’t seen it and I doubt that I will see it in the near future. We have kids who are very tied to their “native” culture, even when they were born in the US. Perhaps seeing how their parents behave toward their new country, they see the US as weak and only a source of benefits.

I’m an immigrant. I’m an American. I believe the US is still that city on the hill. But it is a city that is being assailed. And the weapon of infiltration is immigration. Liberals dance around the Trojan horse of multiculturalism not knowing the dangers crammed within.

I probably have very little in common with Ms. Schlussel, but I’m grateful for her voice.
