New SHARIAH/ISLAM-ONLY Medical Center to Open in Chicago

By Debbie Schlussel

More and more, America becomes Islamerica. And here’s yet another example. But this is only the symptom, not the problem: a growing Muslim population that has metastasized and is a ticking population timebomb–through immigration (legal and illegal) and birth rate. A Muslim doctor, who also owns a Chicago Middle East restaurant (where you should NOT eat, or you are financing shariah), is opening a shariah-compliant medical center. You can bet, by the way, that the government will not force the constructs of Obamacare down the throats of these Muslims, just Catholic-operated hospitals and the like. (On the other hand, I’ve repeatedly told you about the medical jihadists–how Islamic doctors treat non-Muslim patients, so maybe it’s better if Muslim doctors treat only other Muslims. Sadly, that ain’t how it works.)

shariahkadusis2.jpg

islamiccrescent.jpg

A Chicago doctor who owns a lavish Middle Eastern eatery on West Randolph Street wants to open the first outpatient surgery center in Illinois that he says will follow Islamic law. Dr. Naser Rustom, who opened Alhambra Palace in 2007, has in mind a venture with a much more religious flavor. He proposes to establish a $5.5 million medical facility in southwest suburban Orland Park that would cater to Muslims, including space for prayer and ritual washing and partitions for enhanced patient privacy.

The proposal reflects how more businesses are looking to tap into the growing population of Arab-Americans and Muslims, offering products ranging from home mortgages to meat that satisfy religious standards. . . . Some interpretations of Shariah, or Islamic law, require strict segregation of the sexes, a practice that Dr. Rustom doesn’t intend to follow because, in his view, it likely would violate federal and state laws. . . .

An internist, Dr. Rustom is a 1984 graduate of the University of Damascus in Syria who completed his residency at Cook County Hospital eight years later. His medical career has been low-key compared to Alhambra, a cavernous, 24,000-square-foot restaurant that looks like a Disney version of a Moorish castle. Located along Randolph Street’s restaurant row, the venture offers Middle Eastern cuisine and entertainment, including belly dancing and live music.

His plan for the Orland Park surgical center is a sign of how the Chicago area’s Muslim population is booming. Fueled in part by immigration from the Middle East and South Asia, the number of local adherents to Islam more than doubled, topping 300,000, between 2000 and 2010, and is expected to continue to climb.

[Emphasis added.]

Yes, you can blame Bush mostly for this, as 40% of Muslims who are now in America are immigrants that came here from 2000-2010, mostly under Bush. Way to answer the call of 9/11, George W. Dope. He’s laughing all the way to his Muslim-financed edifice complex of a Presidential library.

Patients of all religious and cultural backgrounds will be treated at the center, which will not be different from other surgery centers except “to the trained eye,” the application says.

Goodl luck with that. Remember what happened to Joseph Applebaum?

Robyn Fina, an employee of Dr. Rustom’s . . . is managing the project. “We recognize that a health care facility that is fully compliant with Shariah law would likely violate a number of state and federal laws,” Ms. Fina says in an email. Dr. Rustom declines to be interviewed. Interaction between the sexes will be kept “at a modest level,” she adds. . . .

By focusing on Muslims, Dr. Rustom is following a path used by businesses in other industries. Devon Bank started offering Shariah-compliant mortgages and commercial loans a decade ago, says David Loundy, CEO of the bank, which is located near Devon and Western avenues on the North Side, in an area bustling with Muslim businesses. . . . Best Chicago Meat Co., based on the Northwest Side, began selling halal meat, which is butchered in accordance with Islamic precepts, about five years ago, President David Van Kampen says. Halal meat accounts for 8 to 10 percent of annual revenue of more than $23 million.

That’s sad. Best used to be kosher. But, now, everything is halal and Islam-compliant and uber-dhimmi. Get used to it. You didn’t demand more from President Bush after 9/11, and so now, you have this.

Good luck with that, America.

By the way, Dr. Rustom, a Syrian Muslim immigrant who is tight with Syria’s pro-Hezbollah/Iran Assad government, is yet another of those GREAT American immigrants that Marco Rubio and the Wall Street Journal keep tellin’ us are “what makes America great.”

Uh-huh. Sure they are.

Well my only problem with this piece is that Bush is not President anymore but everything is still his fault.
I could get a line like that from an Obama press conference.

Good luck?

Obama may only be a pharaoh but lets hope the red sea gets parted in that case.

Frankz on April 30, 2013 at 3:58 pm

Just because someone is no longer president does not mean they are no longer responsible for crap they put in place while they were.

Bush is guilty as charged. His policies CONTINUE to have negative impacts on America – and if you want to be balanced, you can mention the Clintons and their wholesale technological (classified) give-aways to the Chinese.

Nir Leiu on April 30, 2013 at 4:38 pm

KKKlinton was in bed with Chinese at the behest of his buddy, Arkansas-based. Walton (the Walmart Klan.) It was an arranged marriage. KKKlinton took cash from the Chinese and sold them technology and also granted them MHN status to keep tariffs low so Walmart could go into high gear in its murderous path of wiping out huge economic chunks and open the one-way money tsunami which continues to run between their stores and China.

Of course, sheep-like Americans don’t care very much and gleefully flock to and drive an extra 20 miles to Walmarts if they can save ten cents a roll on toilet paper.

Not that I’m not angry about what Bush did but the hammer blow will not come from him.

F: WRONG. The hammer blow DID come from Bush. He promised that the people who did 9/11 would hear from us, but the only thing they heard was the sound of Bush bending over and spreading apart his butt cheeks for easy entry, as he increased Muslim immigration and helped the cancer metastasize when he had public opinion on his side and could have changed our immigration system to stop allowing these people in . . . and fighting the phony asylum cases like the Tsarnaev family’s case. Bush claimed to be the counterterrorism Prez. He was not. Obama made no such claims. He’s done exactly as he said he would, so I don’t expect otherwise from him. Stop making excuses for Bush. He did not answer the call of 9/11. And that is fact and history. He needs to be called to task for that. Period. DS

Frankz on April 30, 2013 at 4:00 pm

Conservatives who are making excuses for Bush’s pro-Islam record as Prez are making it that much harder to stop amnesty! Its time to face the facts: Bush wasn’t good for America when it came to stopping the Islamization of this country. On that score, history should not be kind to him and as Debbie rightly says here, he needs to be held to account.

Every Islamic terrorist incident on these shores since 9/11 should be placed at his doorstep.

NormanF on April 30, 2013 at 4:40 pm

    Frank:

I take a slightly different view than Debbie. President Bush had the “last clear chance” to rescue America from petro-terrorism. He sold us out.

Bush was so bad, that Barack O’Bama is merely following policies that President Bush set into motion on a broad spectrum of public policies; not just terrorism.

5 years ago, Barack O’Bama told us he’d close Guantanamo. He failed to do so and NOBODY held him to task for a broken promise. There’s a reason for that. Read above!

The list of Bush Policies that Barack O’Bama has perpetuated is so long, I can’t name them all. You might feel good being a partisan Republican and griping about O’Bama, but he hasn’t done much that President Bush didn’t initiate.

From 2001 to 2009, America was at a “fork in the road” and every time, President Bush took the wrong direction. President Bush told America we could have “war and prosperity too”. This was a repeated mistake that any American of my generation knew was a prescription for disaster. Yet Republicans and faux conservatives cheered President Bush at every turn.

I share Debbie’s disdain for President Bush; perhaps for different reasons but also for many reasons we hold common. Busch stunk so bad he made Barack O’Bama palatable to the American public. Think about that! That’s how bad he was.

Under President Bush, we had our last clear chance to defeat Islamic imperialism without doing anything that Debbie proposes. That’s how bad President Bush was.

All of President Bush’s successors in the White House and Congress have merely followed in his footsteps. President Bush talked a good game, but his deeds did not live up to his word. I agree 100% with Debbie on that.

What Debbie did not say I’ll say now. President Bush’s 2 terms of office came at a critical crossroads of America. He took the wrong path time and again. Instead of acting in America’s interest, President Bush waged a Chinese-financed war against Saddam Hussein on behalf of China’s Iranian and N. Korean allies while allowing Saudi petro-terrorists to run amok.

At this point, Barack O’Bama is just a passenger in a baby seat with a steering wheel pretending to drive the car. He stinks too, but he’s just perpetuating Bush’s policies.

There is NO Santa Claus on May 1, 2013 at 11:45 pm

Bush was so bad he kinda-sorta made me miss Clinton.
Didn’t he coin the term “religion of peace” after said ‘religion’ killed 3000 Americans in cold blood?
      …’nuff said.

theShadow on May 2, 2013 at 10:34 pm

Debbie, speaking of Marco Rubio, he’s about done and burnt toast with his BS of pushing amnesty for 20-30 million illegal aliens in this country.

And you nailed it DS, are these the type of immigrants that Rubio and the so-called “Gang of Eight” (ironic, they refered to themselves as a gang, yet their behaving like one) think and assume will make this country a little better than it is right now?

“A nation is defined by its borders, lanuage & culture!”

Sean R. on April 30, 2013 at 4:08 pm

Amnesty will be a disaster for America as well for the conservative movement.

The Republican Party deserves to become extinct if it votes for this monstrosity.

We do not need people like the Tsarnaevs as American citizens here, period.

NormanF on April 30, 2013 at 4:44 pm

Correct Norman, couldn’t have articulated any better buddy!

If the GOP does bid for this amnesty rubbish, it’ll cost them plenty of elections in future elections years ahead, that it might, just might liable to create a third-party to emerge in this country, because both the Republicans and Democrats alike are nothing but BS-artists.

And George Washington made a quote in his day about a two-party system in this country on how it’ll corrupt the nation, the people, the policies, etc.!

I’m not interested if Obama has the good taste not to be hypocritical about it.
More fool us for complimenting him on it.

Your position to my mind only makes sense if you have given up.
I don’t see that as an option.
We will see it in our lifetimes.

Frankz on April 30, 2013 at 4:32 pm

Obama never promised to be tough on Islam or terrorists. Bush did and in that respect he failed this country.

We’re simply not serious about securing our borders or looking after the national security of this country.

Both political correctness and dhimmitude blind us to what needs to be done. Contrary to what people think, 9/11 wasn’t the wake-up call we urgently needed.

NormanF on April 30, 2013 at 4:49 pm

Sure… and I bet my service dog will NOT be admitted into a Sharia-compliant hospital.

If you’re an infidel, your life is literally in the hands of someone ( a Muslim doctor) who doesn’t see you as human at all.

But that’s the way America is going! None to the good, by the looks of things.

NormanF on April 30, 2013 at 4:35 pm

PS
Debbie,
Also if you notice I made no excuses for Bush.
I could call him on lots of things but what good would that do?
He is not President anymore.
Am I supposed to take a trip down memory lane every time some government agency is compromised or makes a screw up?
Can somebody please explain this to me?

F: He who forgets his history is doomed to repeat it. You made excuses for him and you are now by saying he’s no longer Prez so I shouldn’t call him out. I can’t hold Obama to the standards he never promised but which Bush promised and never did. Bush gave the Tsarnaevs asylum. He deserves the credit for that. He also allowed most of the Muslims in that sought to come here while lying to us and telling us he was the counterterrorism Prez. He deserves the credit for that. I’ve called out Obama for plenty of stuff in this regard. I’m non-partisan. DS

Frankz on April 30, 2013 at 4:48 pm

Frankz, what I think Debbie is trying to get at is the importance of removing partisanship from the analysis. We don’t want to make this a partisan issue of “Dems Bad, Reps Good” on Islam. We want to make clear that both parties suck, and we won’t tolerate it. Certainly we won’t tolerate Reps trying to say, “elect me and we will be tough on Islam” when that will not and has not been the case.

Deb:

Best Chicago Meat Co. should NOT be confused with Best’s Kosher hot dogs; a former division of Sara Lee.

Best’s Kosher was a South Side institution. As you note “Best Chicago Meat Co.” is based on the Northwest side. The two companies are not related.

Regards,

There is NO Santa Claus

TINSC: Thanks for the correction. But isn’t the other Best originally a kosher place and founded by Jews? DS

There is NO Santa Claus on April 30, 2013 at 4:53 pm

    Deb:

I think your question underscores the delightful obfuscation that the new Best Chicago Meat Co. has created. I’m not sure which one you are referring to.

From internet research via Google, Best Chicago Meat Co. is a subsidiary of Beavers Holdings. [http://www.beaversholdings.com/] Nobody on the web site seems to be flying their Israeli flag.

The old Best’s Kosher was owned by a Jewish family at one time as was Sara Lee. I don’t know whether Best’s Kosher bought Sinai 48 or whether Sara Lee bought them and consolidated them into the Best’s Kosher business unit. All I know is that I was acquainted with the former owner of the Sinai 48 hot dog company, but never asked him much about it. Back then, I took it for granted that the product would be available forever.

None of this ever mattered to me until Best’s Kosher hot dogs disappeared from the grocers. This was because Sara Lee closed down the brand. (FYI, I believe; not positive on this… the modern Sara Lee corporation was busted for violating U.S. law preventing American firms from participating in any way with the Arab League boycott of Israel. That’s a joke! When you look at all the firms that participate in that and don’t get busted, you gotta wonder why they targeted Sara Lee.)

OK… all that being said, Sara Lee still owns the trademarks of ALL the Best’s Kosher brands. I don’t think anyone is going to “pay the rent” on using those names. Food manufacturing is a low margin; high volume business. A 2% royalty to use the Best’s Kosher trademark would likely be problematic.

I don’t know if this has been particularly helpful.

OK… one last thing. In my 50+ years, I have a few Muslim friends; long time friends. (Contrary to “Schlussel rules”, they haven’t killed me or suggested that they desire to do so… yet.) EVERY ONE OF THEM TELLS ME that meat certified Kosher is 100% Halal and acceptable to them and EVERY Muslim.

What does this mean? It means (to me) that your thesis is essentially correct. The “Halal” certification is an Islamic imperialist competition to Kosher certification of products under USDA regulation. It’s needless and counter-productive.

    I hope this helps.

True and suitable for framing. Until we get immigration under control, more lives will be needlessly lost and/or maimed. What insanity would compel a nation to draw immigrants from a pool of potential Jihadists? We know where they come from and yet we still allow them in. Its like playing Russian roulette!

I always appreciate your comments because usually you have an interesting angle on things.

However I must ask you why it is not partisan to criticize Bush but partisan to criticize Obama?
Because he’s a Republican guy?
Well why can’t we do both at the same time?

This is a nice strategy you have but it silences criticism and I feel we are deluding ourselves if we think we will ever get the chance to implement it.
The left doesn’t care if we are partisan or not.
Their objective is to discredit us regardless.
We’re not building credibility in their eyes.

If we do not go on the offensive we will lose and not just for this round.

Frankz on April 30, 2013 at 5:18 pm

“However I must ask you why it is not partisan to criticize Bush but partisan to criticize Obama?
    Because he’s a Republican guy?
Well why can’t we do both at the same time?”

Frankz, imagine that BOTH sets of party elites (Dem and Rep) support the same crappy policy, and that NEITHER the Republican mass nor the Democratic mass generally approve of the policy. Insofar as the policy is turned into a partisan issue as opposed to a policy issue, there will ALWAYS be substantial mass support for the policy because the mass associated with the party of the president will tend to support it, based on party identification.

That’s what has happened on immigration (while the Dem mass is more pro-illegal than the Rep mass, the Dem mass is not pro-illegal). It has happened on Islam.

So, it follows that one must resist the tendency to associate a crappy policy with one party if in fact it is supported by both parties (the elite strata of the parties). Given that Debbie’s audience is overwhelmingly Republican, the logic of her focus on Bush (the Republican elites) is that by knocking out the partisan basis, the actual policy can be assessed. For example, some Dem operative will say, “You complain about Obama on X, but Obama is simply doing what you Republicans did last time.” What can one reply, if partisanship rules? But if one can say, “Look, Bush’s policy was crappy, I said it was crappy for reasons a, b, & c; Hussein’s policy is the same, and it remains crappy for the same reasons” one’s position is much more solid.

Debbie,

“He deserves the credit for that”

Yes great well I’m sure Bush will be very chagrined if he ever decides to run for office again.
In Obama land anything is possible.

If Bush indirectly gave the Tsarnaevs asylum by his immigration policy then Obama directly aided their capacity to carry out their mission by the intelligence agency failures that his policies effected.

Would that we could go back in a time warp to his presidency when Sharia Law was only a distant possibility.

I wish you would tell me what excuses I made for Bush.

I myself am distinctly partisan but I do not disguise the failures of either side.

“I can’t hold Obama to the standards he never promised but which Bush promised and never did”

You might as well say you can’t hold Pol Pot to human rights standards because he never pretended to give a damn about them but you can hold Slobodan Milosevic accountable because he did.

Bush was a dope on immigration, we know this already but he did fight the war on terror even if you think he was a dope on that too.

The only excuse I’ve ever made for Bush is that Obama’s light years ahead of him in progressive Arab ass kissing techniques.
That he’s sponsoring the Muslim brotherhood in the middle east through the Arab spring. That he’s destroying the ability of the intelligence agencies to combat terrorism. That he sympathizes with the imposition of Sharia and hate speech limitations on the first amendment.

That he’s the acting president.

The steep decline is happening now. These are the bad, old days of the beginning of the decline. Sometimes it’s hard to see in the beginning. It hasn’t been so hard for me these days.

I tweeted a story yesterday of 3 Mooooslims teens who held up a sign saying “Meet a Mooooooslim” because they didn’t want people to think about Jihad (but people SHOULD).

A soldier said, “I killed many Moooooslims. I don’t need to meet any more”. He was the villain of the story. All the PC situations you can muster in your imagination for such a story indeed happened (people embracing them, seeing it as a positive thing and taking snaps with said Mooooooslim teens).

They don’t need any amateur help from us.

If you get into a xyz position in a debate then you acknowledge Bush’s culpability beforehand or you just understand it so you don’t get into that position.

Sorry but the Dems and Republicans are not equally bad on these issues. That’s the typical non-partisan so please take me seriously I’m mature approach but it’s also inaccurate and inadequate.

The Republicans in terms of policy may go along with the Democrat leadership but they do so generally in an effort to appear non-partisan. A fatal mistake. Parties are there to offer solutions not idiotic designed by a committee to get me re-elected compromises.

The salient issue here is that the Democrats innovate the policies that the Republicans follow half assed.
They are laying down the new rail tracks.
Then the Republicans feel they must lay some down too if they don’t want to get left behind.

If you want to go along with that and say oh well the Republicans let us down so they are just as bad fine.

“Sorry but the Dems and Republicans are not equally bad on these issues. That’s the typical non-partisan so please take me seriously I’m mature approach but it’s also inaccurate and inadequate. . . . Romney was the perfect example of this.”

Frankz, yes, Mittens was an example. That’s why I refused to vote in the general election after voting for an alternative to Mittens in the primary. Parties track turnout from those who voted in the primary.

It does not always matter that the two party are unequal in badness if both are bad enough. I think you fail to account for the long-term problem of voting for a candidate/party that, while being less bad than the alternative, is still very bad. Over time, the party keeps moving away from you, always being careful to be “less bad” than the alternative.

Serious politicians know that core voters staying home in the general election is a calamity. The Republicans apparently lost the last election because white married turnout was down and black turnout was up. If Rep’s KNOW that they will have turnout problems if they are too crappy on certain policies, they will tend not to keep moving “left.”

You incorrectly view the parties as equivalent to ideologies. They are not. The party’s purpose is to win elections. The voter’s purpose is to receive a stream of benefits from the party in power. This fundamental asymmetry was nicely developed by Anthony Downs’s Economic Theory of Democracy.

If I were you, I’d go the library and illegally xerox the Downs book, since it is now so wildly and obscenely overpriced that the publisher should be lynched. I guess political science education has plummeted over the years most places, as this book used to be cheap when I bought it decades ago.

You may disagree with Debbie (and me), but I think I have explained why Debbie focuses on Bush so much. She does not want to give the Republican operatives more ability to convince rank-in-file Republicans that all will be solved with a Republican in office–WHEN IT WON’T.

Unfortunately it’s all over our Western world… see how islam is taking over Europe by terror while the ‘leaders’ keep on saying that there are no problems.

Thereby helped by our media, who refuse to tell the truth: every time horrible things happen in this world, you will find one common denominator: islam!

Cultural arrogance kills.

It really is quite terminal and not just for Christians because its really not all just a big misunderstanding.

Yes, and so does ‘Cultural Ignorance’. People need to learn a lot more about the other cultures they accept and deal with, and realize they don’t follow our rules or guidelines.
The dark ages black plague cult is certainly a major example.

Why do people continue to ignore history? Look at the world religions and cultures.

Christian – We were given life by God, we need to lead by example and peacefully try to lead others to God.

Buddhism – To temper all human faults, find peace within; Nirvana and ultimately become an Arhat.

Hinduism – Peace between the duality. (In short, since it’s one of the most complicated… documented religions.)

Shinto – To understand error and to purify for the afterlife.

(Most) Native African religions – God lives through the animals, they watch us –the world does not belong to no man and your deeds will be judged.

Then we get to Islam, which is a religion of literal intolerance and war… much more concerned with this existence and domination of this world for which one will be rewarded somewhat in the next.

Just look at this history of Islamic kings and leaders and followers – all they do is attack people, enslave, and destroy other people’s holy stuff – like those Buddhist statues in 2001.

Even Genghis Khan the terrible had the decency to leave these landmarks alone.

All over the world they do this – they destroy landmarks and holy sites…

Wake up!

He should be brought to court, because sharia ‘law’ is completely violating our Western laws, in regards to for instance cruelty to animals and especially discrimination towards non-muslims, or discrimination, behaviour towards and intolerance to women (to ALL women).

Why is it all so difficult to see that this 7th century barbaric cult has NO PLACE in the West, or even in this world…
