Well, at least the Sheikh and Hillary are using their left hand index fingers–I suppose as a matter of politeness. Although who knows where they put their right hand fingers in private?

On a more serious note, the USA is now poised to become energy independent, not thanks to any governement policy or plan, but because of tremendous developments in energy technologies coming from the private sector. And the USA will soon be one of the world’s largest exporters of liquid natural gas.

Will the USA really become energy independent? Yes. So says Dick Heckmann, one of the nation’s leading entrepreneurs. Heckmann has a fantastic reputation based on his track record of transforming relatively small businesses in to multi-billion dollar enterprises. The Saudis well know these developments and they know what it come mean to their oil empires, which could become like castles made of sand. (soon to be called Nuverra Environmental Solutions or NES) are already well ahead of the curve and are poised to help maintain the highest standards of environmental safety and security.

The only thing that can stop this major trend is the US government. But so far, Obama does not appear to be setting up too many obstacles. For starters, he at least recognizes that a lot of jobs are being created out of these domestic energy developments.

I do hope Ralph is correct. Actually, I wait for the day when hydrocarbons would be obsolete, since that’s what fuels Islamic economies. It’s not like they’re otherwise capable of creating anything.

In fact, I wish Thorium, as an alternative nuclear fuel, takes off. None of the Islamics have it – the countries that do are Australia, US, Brazil and India. So once these countries use this for their entire commercial electricity and use oil only for transportation, they are off to a good start. In the meantime, Europe, which has abandoned nuclear totally, can try their experiments w/ wind and solar, and see how far it takes them. About solar, I do wish we get to a point where cars can be solar powered – since that’s the application that can use it the most.

But bottom line – the day we don’t have to buy any oil from the Mohammedans, their lot won’t be any better than people in Burundi.

Debbie funny that you should bring up a dirty Muslim skunkweed picking his snot plug. On the way home from work a car pulled up beside me at a stop light. It was on of those expendive Lexis SUVs. The lady driver must have thought that she was invisible in her untinted truck. Anyway not only did this person pick her nose but she ate the “prize” as well. Talk about yuck! It Looks like Sheikh Ibina Terrorist Alalong just proves my point rather clearly. That point being that these bums really are nasty scum sucking creeps. He even used his butt wiping hand to do the digging so at least the dirtbag is consistent.

My understanding is that India is building several thorium reactors. The US? None.

On the issue of US energy independence, the US isn’t the only one moving in that direction. Just this weekend, gas from Israel’s Tamar field started flowing. And three or four years from now, gas from the even larger Leviathan field should be live.

But there’s yet more. Israel has discovered a substantial reserve of oil shale. (The US and China also have large oil shale deposits.) Between those three countries, I’m confident the technology can be developed to extract it. The watch the price of oil plummet.
