NEW ORLEANS – A Jordanian citizen with more than a dozen criminal convictions in Illinois ranging from felony sexual assault to unlawfully carrying a weapon was removed from the United States to Jordan Tuesday by officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO).

Nassar Issa Ibrahim Nassar, 49, was initially encountered by ICE on Oct. 17, 2011, when he was arrested at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport while attempting to re-enter the country. A check of his fingerprints by U.S. Customs and Border Protection revealed an outstanding criminal warrant for assault and battery in Cook County, Ill. Despite the issuance of an ICE detainer, Cook County released Nassar from custody the following day.

“The daily release of criminal aliens into the streets, rather than into ICE custody, demonstrates how dangerous the current Cook County ordinance is to public safety,” said ERO Chicago Field Office Director Ricardo Wong. “Due to the current ordinance barring local law enforcement from honoring ICE’s detainers, egregious criminals are released to continue their criminal activities and endanger innocent people. ICE will continue to raise these public safety concerns with Cook County.”

Uh-huh, as opposed to ICE’s releases of thousands of illegal aliens into the great American abyss and ICE’s cancellation, under Barack Obama, of a program we spent tens of millions on to train and work with local police to capture illegal alien criminals and take them off our streets. ICE is hypocritical in whining about Cook County, because ICE does the same thing.

ICE’s Criminal Alien Program ultimately located and arrested Nassar more than 6 months later on May 9, 2012, at a Cook County residence. A federal immigration judge ordered Nassar removed from the country August 22, 2012, based upon his status as an alien convicted of two or more crimes of moral turpitude and as an alien convicted of a firearms offense.

Exit questions: how long was this al-scumbag in the United States the first time he came here and committed all of his violent crimes? And how did he get here?

Betcha we never get the answers ‘cuz they want us to remain ignorantly blissful. If this guy committed more than a dozen crimes in Illinois (and those are only the ones for which he was charged and convicted), he was probably here a good while. I wonder if he fathered any anchor babies.

Scott,

Nothing! As Debbie pointed out awhile back, we have no federal program in place to track visitor/student visa holders and ensure they will actually abide by the terms of their visa and leave when their visa expires. DHS and ICE don’t really know how many illegal aliens are actually in the US. Nassar is simply the tip of a vast iceberg.

If there is amnesty, he’ll probably be forgiven in spite of multiple felony arrests and convictions – should he return here at some point in the future.

Got that correct Norman, and if any of us on this blog dear’s to forward this story to Marco Rubio and the other 7 so-called “Gang Of 8” US Senators they’ll probably dismiss this truthful link as “conspiracy” or get this, “racism”!

Whether it’s 90% of Jordanians are Palestinians or 90% of Palestinians are Jordanians, most genuine scholars of Middle East history conclude that Jordan IS Palestine. So if there are any non-Jordanian so-called Palestinians that yearn for a Palestinian homeland, there’s only one place they should go to: Jordan. Of course, Jordan kicked out a lot of Palestinians many years ago, but if they really want to return to their Palestinian homeland of Jordan, they should return there and demand reparations from Jordan.

Why turn him over to the county? Especially when they knew, or should have known, of the “ordinance” to not honor ICE detainers. This illustrates the complete lack of law enforcement professionalism at ICE/HSI. This scumbag could have easily been turned over to HSI agents and prosecuted perhaps prosecuted under a re-entry or other charge.

This also showcases the ridiculousness of the whole immigration “law enforcement” charade. The whole system is a joke, why was this scumbag admitted, then place a worthless “detainer”, and then it took over a year to be picked up again.

What was Congress thinking when they decided to make Customs, a premier investigative agency, part of this whole cesspool. I know they though that by inputting Customs into the mix it would fix the immigration agency. But it has backfired tremendously, Customs is now bogged down by the horrendous bureaucracy and incompetence of immigration, and forced to promote incompetent clowns through agency “affirmative action” because they can’t discriminate against the under-privaleged, under-trained, and incompetent ins “minorities”.

This story is just the tip of the iceberg, stuff like this has been going on for DECADES.
