WTF?! Air Force Chaplain Awarded Bronze Star for Islamic Sensitivity Training Presentation

By Debbie Schlussel

It’s official: you can now earn a Bronze Star for Islamo-pandering.

Medal Inflation: Now That Halal Col. Trainer Has One, Bronze Star is Worthless

At America’s high schools and colleges, there is massive grade inflation and political correctness, so it’s no surprise that the natural progression of this has infested America’s military. We already know that the U.S. Armed Forces is infected with the incurable virus of political correctness and dhimmitude (non-Muslims pandering to Islam). And so it’s no surprise that the U.S. military now inflates medals and gives ’em out for politically correct non-valor.

After the accidental burning last year of Qurans by U.S. troops in Afghanistan sparked deadly rioting, an Air National Guard chaplain from Springfield stepped in. . . . For his effort, Lt. Col. Jon Trainer received the prestigious Bronze Star — a medal given for heroic or meritorious achievement in connection with operations against an armed enemy.

And he did it with a PowerPoint presentation.

Trainer, who’s now in the running to be named Chaplain of the Year for the entire Air Guard, was in the third month of his voluntary deployment to Afghanistan last February when U.S. troops at Bagram Airfield mistakenly burned copies of the Muslim holy book. The ensuing outrage claimed more than 30 lives, including two U.S. troops and two U.S. military advisers.

Within 48 hours, Trainer developed a PowerPoint presentation on the proper handling and disposal of Islamic religious material that was seen by every American — military and civilian alike — in Afghanistan. The presentation then was distributed to the U.S. for use in all pre-deployment training. . . .

Trainer, a Westerville resident and nondenominational Christian pastor who’s been chaplain of the local 251st Cyber Engineering Installation Group since 2000, also sought to prevent any future problems by covering what constitutes Islamic religious material in the first place.

“When a Muslim writes down even a few verses from the Quran on a piece of paper,” he explained, “that immediately gets that same protected status.”

Ultimately, he said, it became an opportunity to demonstrate the importance of culture to U.S. troops and to show Afghanis that the U.S. could respond swiftly to their sensitivities.

Um, we saw the “importance of culture” each time Afghanis blew up American soldiers. Where the heck was their swift response to our sensitivities? This schmuck in uniform doesn’t care. He’s also probably one of those left-wing Christians who hates Israel and loves Palestinian terrorists. It jibes with the rest of his now-bronzed BS.

Apparently they are giving out Bronze Stars like candy now. . . halal candy, like that passed out by the Palestinian Muslim woman who cheered the 9/11 attacks.

Disgusting. The Bronze Star is supposed to be given for heroic or meritorious achievement in connection with operations against an armed enemy. How can you get a medal for heroic or meritorious achievement in operations against an armed enemy, when you are actually promoting capitulation to that enemy? Makes zero sense.

It’s ironic that this Chaplain, Col. Trainer, was in charge of programs to prevent the suicide of American troops, all while he’s aiding and abetting the greater American suicide.

Hey, why didn’t we give out Bronze Stars for teaching our troops to respect the swastika in 1943? Same difference.

To quote Mr. T, I pity the fool. Sadly, the fool is us.

Exit question: ya think Al-Qaeda or the Taliban are doing powerpoint presentations on how their terrorists should have respect for the Christian and Jewish Bibles?

Exit question #2: how long ’til they hand out Bronze Stars for Jew-hating, Christian-persecuting, or wife-beheading? After all, this is what the koran stands for.

Debbie,

Here’s irony for you:

An Islamic terrorist dressed up as an Afghan police officer killed two Americans at a remote military base and injured ten others before he was killed.

“Last year more than 60 Nato troops were killed by Afghan security personnel or insurgents posing as them.

The gunman – a member of the Afghan army or police – opened fire as US special forces and Afghan commandos held an early morning meeting.”

Another 10 US troops were wounded, the US military said. The number of Afghan casualties has not been made public.

This from the Beep this morning. This is Islamic “sensitivity training” at its finest. While we award moronic chaplains with the Bronze Medal Star for giving PowerPoint presentations on how to make Islamic barbarians feel at home in their own skin, the other side figures out how to kill us all when we let down our guard with them.

Islamic terrorists, which our US military doesn’t appear to have noticed, don’t have much regard for the feelings, let alone the lives of our troops and we are still expected to sensitive towards mass-murdering Islamic monsters.

Hey, I’m sure Rand Paul approves of this! To call it a disgusting and undeserved honor is truly the understatement of the year – its official in that committing civilizational suicide is now an honored American virtue.

Only in America.

NormanF on March 11, 2013 at 5:45 pm

After I read this article, I vomited. Sickening. Totally sickening.

My relatives got bronze stars while under fire from the enemy. This guy gets a bronze star for siding with the enemy.

Of course, when they gave a bronze star to Jessica Lynch for panicking under fire, you knew the better had become worthless. T

The dumbing down of America continues.

Jonathan E. Grant on March 11, 2013 at 5:51 pm

Exactly. The denigration of our military – including medals for valor – become meaningless. This is no accident. Witness the “Medal” that Mr. Pimpnetta pushed on our military – an award for “Droning.” This award is “Above” the Bronze Star and, more insultingly, the Purple Heart. This is all part of the overall plan to sanitize, feminize and “Equalize” our military. It bagan a ways back, when all military could wear berets, not just those who had earned the coveted (Green) beret. Command leadership is now purely political, and politically correct. We have an admiral now stating that the biggest threat we face is global warming….oops, I forgot the terminology has been changed) to “Climate change.” Dr. Goebbels lives on in our government and the state run media – the propaganda arm of the democrat party. Also witness the despicable comment from our head of the Joint Chiefs, Dempsey, (I cannot bring myself to refer to him as “General”) when the ISLAMIC TERRORIST went on his murderous rampage at Ft. Hood. His first public comment was, “I hope this incident does not harm the inclusiveness of all in the military and in our country.” Patton, MacArthur, Halsey, Nimitz and all other true military leaders who have passed on must be turning over in their graves. We are being undermined by Quislings on a daily basis.

Interesting, especially when taken into consideration that the Air Force has had a long history of discriminatory treatment towards service members that are Jews. A few years ago at the Air Force Academy the command structure there was under investigation for attempting to force Jews and people from other religions to convert to Born Again Christianity.

The movement to support muslims and give them special treatment over the last 15 years has nothing really to do with their being muslim, in many instances it is used to cloak Anti-Semitic behavior.

DS_ROCKS! on March 11, 2013 at 5:55 pm

    DS_ROCKS,

    Good point!

Excellence no longer means anything and Americans appear to have a love of the silly, trivial and unimportant.

Debbie wouldn’t have mentioned this in passing but its a sign of the state of the culture.

If this had been the way things were going in the 1940s, we’d be saluting Hitler now and marching to the anthem of Imperial Japan.

Sad to say, there’s truth to the notion that our enemies know us better than we know ourselves.

NormanF on March 11, 2013 at 6:03 pm

I should have typed, “Of course, when they gave the bronze star to Jessica Lynch for panicking under fire, you knew the medal had become worthless.”

Jonathan E. Grant on March 11, 2013 at 5:55 pm

Jon,

We no longer have heroes in America.

When cowards and PC dummies can get the Bronze Star, people no longer recognize true courage under fire.

If it all takes is a couple of slides to win this prestigious medal, the US military is indeed the laughingstock of the entire world.

And of course American morons are more interested in rationing sugary soft drinks than in fighting our enemies.

America has changed and not for the better.

NormanF on March 11, 2013 at 5:57 pm

What do we expect when we have a Muslim president? Award that man one Bovine Effluvia with Corn Flake Cluster! And then boot him out the door!

RT: Sadly, this Islamo-pandering craziness began before Obama. It began even before 9/11, when George W. Bush aggressively sought the Muslim endorsement and got it over Al Gore. He stepped up this crap as soon as he got elected, and even more so after 9/11. DS

RT on March 11, 2013 at 6:00 pm

RT,

Debbie’s right – Bush forgave the religion that mass murdered 3000 Americans.

Besides, its Christian to turn one’s cheeks to one’s enemy. Something that in the Bush and Obama years, we have acquired a great deal of first hand experience with.

And it won’t change in the foreseeable future.

NormanF on March 11, 2013 at 6:10 pm

Sure you can make the comparison.

Bush 4.9 trillion in extra debt during 2 terms.
Obama +-6 trillion in first term with no end in sight and likely to go stratospheric when socialized health care kicks in.

Bush some attempt to keep the Muslim world on side after Iraq.
Obama – Hagel defense secretary nomination – game over.

Bush did this stuff because somebody convinced him it was kinder and gentler.
Obama’s doing it because he’s street smart enough to know it isn’t.

Frankz on March 11, 2013 at 7:22 pm

In all honesty, the PowerPoint presentation (messed up as it sounds) probably had nothing to do with it. Pretty much any LTC who deploys to Iraq or Afghanistan is getting a guaranteed Bronze Star – or maybe even a better award. Note that his is for “merit” rather than “courage” (i.e., an actual gunfire exchange). That’s why there is no “Valor” device pinned on it.

Pretty much every officer in Afghanistan who makes PowerPoint shows gets a Bronze Star – but without the “Valor” device attached.

Sta t us MoNk eeey on March 11, 2013 at 7:23 pm

You’re right, but the currency of these medals have definitely been devalued. I guess that’s right in keeping with the devaluation of the military in general.

To be honest, the downward trend started in Vietnam. Thanks again, LBJ!

Red Ryder on March 12, 2013 at 8:26 am

This is contemptable. I’m not surprised since we continue promote and reward Sloth, Cowardice and vulgar behavior under the banner of “Tolerance and understanding” courtesy of the mainstream media and Hollywood. This degrades what little value the Bronze Star had post-Jessica Lynch.

Peter on March 11, 2013 at 7:27 pm

This fricken’ dope is a ‘*nondenominational* Christian pastor’.

That’s part of the problem but then again I can be pushed back to square one when I think of all the anti-Semitic Jews who are just as pandering to disgusting Islam.

I feel exactly like JEG. I am sick of all the disgusting news on the progression of Islam. It’s really making me sick.

11 years after 9/11 and people don’t know the truth about Islam but they have sure learned (in TRIPLE time) how to pander to it.

Wake up MFers! There are NO winners in Islam. It’s the world’s most futile and disgusting (devil’s)game.

The adherents are really super-perverted and sick in the head hypocrites with backwards ways and excuses for their bad behaviour (that legitimizes it) up the wazoo (taqiyya etc.).

The women are chattel and even so, some do heinous things to their very own kids. If they don’t, then they defer to sickness and enable it (dressing like ninjas). *Spit*

Hatred of Jews is baked in the Quranic cake. So is hatred of anything anti-Islamic. Their prophet is a violent paedo. They are racist towards blacks too.

But before you relax if you’re cursed enough to be Mooooslim, there is NO RESPITE. If you’re not Sunni, the Shia will do heinous things to you and vice versa (same for other sub groups like the one that piece of rot Bashir al-Assad belongs to (I wanna say Alawite, but I could be wrong….).

The children are not safe from the super-holy death cult that prays 5 times a day…I already told you what super-hypocrites they are (Bacha Bazi in Afghanistan/honour killings throughout).

There is NO WINNING in Islam. Even the start of it is illegitimate. It’s the devil’s work.

But the world is too busy being PC and kissing Jihadi ass.

And more Jews are harassed than Moooooooslims. What a joke the pandering is. It’s making me SICK!

Who would have thought 11 years after 9/11 more know about Islam (even low-info jack-wagons!) to defer to it in lieu of stopping it?

I’m with JEG on this one. I read this and it made me want to hurl. Then I though about it and just came to the conclusion that this is just more of the same crap. The Obamanation has made the greatest military on the planet into a laughing stock. With the confirmation of the dullard Up Chuck Hagel the Israel hater his defecating on the miitary will continue in earnest. The Bronze Star is and award given for acts of heroism or meritorious servicve in a combat zone. My grandfather got one during WWII and this fool gets one from helping our troops be more sensitive to Islam! What utter rubbish. What’s next giving Nidal Hasan a Silver Star.

#1 Vato on March 11, 2013 at 9:12 pm

Reminds me of something in “The Guns of August,” where the Crown Prince (Kaiser Wilhelm’s son) is handing out Iron Crosses, 1st and 2nd class, to his troops from a basket carried by an underling, like party decorations; a comment made was that “the only way to avoid being awarded the Iron Cross was to commit suicide.”
Devalue the Bronze Star by handing it out willy-nilly to Islamo-panderers, and the award means absolutely NOTHING! How about awarding one to any soldier who kills a known terrorist, and giving the supposed trainer in the story above a little plastic crescent moon with the caption: “I ‘Heart’ Muslims!”?
Far more appropriate . . .

jc15 on March 11, 2013 at 9:16 pm

This is another step in the plan to demoralize the military combat hero. this Chaplin, the high “empty suit” brass and The Military lawyers’ (JAG) with their ” rules of engagement” have made war a sensitivity issue and losing cause.

Our military, like the rest of the government, has been infiltrated by Islamic sympathizers and extremists. Just because they wear suits and ties and uniforms and shave doesn’t mean they aren’t terrorists. The indoctrination of our military is going on, unabated, 24/7.

Tommy on March 12, 2013 at 3:15 am

It is pandering to the most psychotic tendencies of a religion, namely Islam. Would this chaplain also advocate handing Jews over to Jihadists to promote cultural understanding? what goes unmentioned is the fact that those nice Muslims who were incarcerated were the ones who initially defaced the Korans that were “Improperly” disposed of. Muslim rage unsurprisingly did not extend to the perpetrators, namely their fellow Muslims. Do we need to recall that Sunnis and Shiites regularly bomb and otherwise physically attack mosques with little or no regret, even though such places are constructed in order to offer prayer to Allah? Is it necessary to mention that the alleged Holy Month of Ramadan often sees a spike in Muslim attacks, despite that it is supposedly a time of prayer and fasting for Muslims mourning the Prophet’s flight from Mecca due to persecution? These Muslim sensitivities become remarkably optional when they prove to be even mildly bothersome to a believer.

Worry01 on March 12, 2013 at 3:43 am

Is it true that you can get a bronze star for panicking under fire?! Why didn’t somebody tell me? I reckon I could have panicked brilliantly under those circumstances. In fact, I would have made a headless chicken look brave and organised.

But now its too late. Unless they award them for zimmering away from the enemy as fast as possible, while being overtaken by every snail in Afghanistan.

However, is it anything new that those who do fight valiantly for their country are not rewarded? Have you read Kipling’s “Tommy Atkins”?

Once again, may I cite my dear aged father’s experience – he (not so aged then) made it out of Poland, escaped from a Romanian POW camp, made it to France and then to the UK to rejoin the fight against Hitler.

He was one of “our gallant allies the Poles” until the day the war ended, then he was a “fascist thug”,and (apparently) is one to this day.

There is a lesson about “all the kingdoms of the world” there.

Re the strange situation re PC and Islam. I don’t know what to say. I feel I mustn’t grudge them all that PC-protection, given that I know what its like to be without it – to be “unter” in PC terms. But I occasionally feel a bit envious and wonder if they have a spare cup of PC-protection that they could lend me.

On the other hand, given that I am trying to be “no part” of the world, perhaps its better the way it is.

sue on March 12, 2013 at 8:21 am

“Medal of Honor” not “Congressional Medal of Honor”.

The US military has given out thousands of Bronze Stars for “achievement” over the years. Especially to the officer and senior NCO ranks.

Relatively few have been awarded with the “V” for valor device. So unless the recipient is a she named “Lynch” it is still likely that he or she did actually do something with some valor attached. (To be honest I don’t know if Lynch was awarded the BS with or without a “V” device.)

RA2216 on March 12, 2013 at 9:02 am

Miss Debbie, First off, any so-called Christian in this day and time who is non-denominational is not grounded in the belief of the Bible. You have to have a set of beliefs. Not all believe the same. And given that he was awarded this shows the political side of awards. This was to apease the killers. I don’t know how he feels about Israel, but wouldn’t be a bit surprized if he was anti-Israel or anti-Hebrew.

William on March 12, 2013 at 9:58 am

The truly sad thing about this is the military has been very stingy with decorations for actual valor in combat.

What is a “nondenominational pastor”, does that mean he may wear many hats according to whatever agenda he requires to advance his status?

Rochelle on March 12, 2013 at 1:53 pm

You know, the problem here is NOT LtC Trainer. If you had bothered to do the most basic inquiry on who he is, you would have discovered that he is a conservative Christian Pastor of New Hope Bible Church and Military AFR Chaplain, who volunteered to go Afghanistan to server our troops on the ground there. e responded to an unfortunate situation — burning of Islamic religious material — with a thoughtful powerpoint training orientation on Islamic beliefs. The powerpoint is for incoming service personnel who will be operating side by side with Afghan Muslim soldiers and community leaders. However thoughtful, the problem in this Bronze Star award is that NOBODY in the AF chain of command rejected the Bronze Star recommendation. Trainer should be commended for his outstanding presentation, but not with a Bronze Star — and I am sure he would concur.

Alexander PatirotPost.us on March 12, 2013 at 4:47 pm

Exactly why should a supposedly “conservative Christian” pastor volunteer to do the presentation on Islam? Couldn’t they find any Muslims in country?

Red Ryder on March 12, 2013 at 7:05 pm

Hello Red Ryder, Would a follower of Christ be in the military, given that Jesus taught us to “lay down” our arms?

Surely we are to study war no more?

The Hebrew and the Christian Greek Scriptures teach us that we are all brothers and sisters – all the children of Adam, with an even closer common ancestor in Noah; therefore, as the poet (Christopher Logue) said:

“O come all ye faithful, here is our cause
All dreams are one dream, all wars civil wars…”

It is Satan – the ruler of the present world system of things -who wants brother killing brother. The God of Abraham wants to gather us back into one loving family – all who will listen to Him.

sue on March 13, 2013 at 3:43 am

        @Sue–

Oh dear. Try reading the Scriptures. You would encounter a goodly number of soldier Christians. As to OT, ever hear of King David–or the Maccabees?

Red Ryder on March 13, 2013 at 10:37 am

Hello Red Ryder, yes, the God of Israel did direct ancient Israel to use warfare to take possession of the land that he himself designated as their inheritance And, in the Law covenant God laid down rules for warfare that he would approve, stipulating exemptions and the manner in which this warfare was to be carried out.

But is that true of any of the warfare of any nation today?

And, with the establishing of the Christian congregation, a new situation came into existence. We are not under the Mosaic Law. Christ’s followers were to make disciples of people of all nations; so worshipers of the true God would in time be found in all those nations. We are asked to “lay down” our swords, and rely on our Creator, the God of Abraham.

If you don’t know you’re a dhimmi let me point it out so you see it as clearly as those who know a thing or two do…

“…an unfortunate situation — burning of Islamic religious material…”

Uh, burning a satanic tome of fakery is NOT unfortunate. Get with it!

“…with a thoughtful powerpoint training orientation on Islamic beliefs.”

A Christian pastor should be NO WHERE near doing such a thing and you obviously don’t know much about “Islamic beliefs” and if you do you are part of the problem and the opposite of us.

“…operating side by side with Afghan Muslim soldiers and community leaders.”

Do you mean the same “Afghan Mooooooslim Soldiers” who are attacking our soldiers more and more? What a thankless job US has over there (it’s even more stupid!)!

“Trainer should be commended for his outstanding presentation,…”

If you believe that you are an enemy. And a very willfully stupid and foolish one at that. You’re part of the problem. And allergic to the awful truth right in front of you.

If posts were a toilet, yours would be flushed.

@freedom4usa on March 14, 2013 at 8:44 pm

Debbie,

I’ve seen this problem with “medal inflation” for a number of years. I’ve seen folks get BS, MSMs, ARCOMs and the like simply for doing their job… or even less. I saw one Bronze Star citation that was no better than one for an ARCOM. I have no clue how that passed muster for the award. I have also seen the reports regarding the “medals” given out like candy to many who don’t deserve much of anything.

And now we have a medal for UAV and “Cyberwarriors” that outranks the Bronze Star with V device… simply because some dude controlled a joystick from Tampa while dumping Hellfires on bad guys. This stuff is simply incredible.

By the way… the same goes for all of the “challenge coins” that are circulating out there. The number of these coins in one’s possession is usually inversely proportional to how much real work they do.

As for Islamic sensitivity training… the military has come out with some of the most stupid and vapid training presentations I have ever seen.

Soldiers can be awarded Bronze Stars For non-combat but based on the factual number of 130,000 being received by non-combatant higher NCO’s and Officers they have HIJACKED this medal. Soldiers that actually engage the enemy in the ranks of E-1 to E-6 and risk their lives are not recognized with this medal. The fact is that the only way these ranks can receive this medal is with a V-device. This is not nor ever was the regulation to qualify for such an award !!!!! It is to be awarded to all soldiers while serving in any capacity. REPEAT {{{ ANY CAPACITY }}} THIS MEANS REGARDLESS OF RANK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MICHAEL COX on October 15, 2013 at 10:13 am

REGULATIONS HAVE NOT CHANGED FOR AWARDING THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL BUT THE LEADERSHIP IN THE ARMY HAS !!!! THE LEADER’S WANT IT TO BE AWARDED LIKE AN MSM. THE MSM REGULATIONS ARE RANK ORIENTED { NOT THE BRONZE STAR REGULATIONS !!!!

MICHAEL COX on November 7, 2013 at 12:44 pm

The problem with this medal boils down to the fact that this award is awarded in a combat zone { only } and is the only decoration available that is a actual combat decoration in both forms with or without a V-device. All other awards can be awarded both in or out of a combat zone regardless if its a ARCOM with a V-device.The ARCOM medal itself can be awarded in the States but is Not an EXCLUSIVE medal awarded only in a combat zone.

The leadership has determined the only way they will give this medal out to the lower ranks is if you die or receive it with a V-device. They fail 100% in understanding that the ranks of E-1 to E-6 are those that actually engage the enemy on a day to day conflict. They have decided to leave out the combatants only in extreme cases !!! They have Hijacked this decoration for them self’s !!!

Soldiers have a right to complain about this award!!!! If E-1 to E-6 received this award for Meritorious Service in other wars then what has changed in the regulations ??? ANSWER: NOTHING!!! The only thing that has changed is the utter contempt from upper ranks in awarding this award !!! THIS IS { BS } AT ITS FINEST DISRESPECT OF LOWER RANKS !!!!!!

ATTENTION DEBBIE:

The major problem with the Bronze Star Medal is that its a { COMBAT DECORATION ONLY }!!
The problem in today’s military started back in 1964 when the army took an award for peacetime and wartime The Army Commendation Medal and made it a combat award by adding a V-device for combat.
This way the higher ranks could award a [combat decoration only] for Meritorious Service for Non-Combat reasons.
Then they took a Non-Combat award that was a lower award and put a V-device on it and awarded lower ranks this award for Combat.
The total reason behind this was to take away the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service away from the common soldiers who actually fight and die in our nations wars !!!!
THIS IS {{ NOT WHY }} THIS AWARD WAS CREATED!!!

If the Military had not created the Army Commendation with V-device.The problem with the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service would not be a problem in today’s Army. Enlisted ranks would have received this award for combat that didn’t require a V-device because it would have been the next lower award of a { COMBAT DECORATION ONLY } to award the troups !!!!!!

To FIX the problem of awarding over 130,000 Bronze Stars for NON -Combat is {SIMPLE }Award only those who are actually in Combat The Bronze Star for Meritorious Service. ELIMINATE the ARMY COMMENDATION WITH V-DEVICE THAT ONLY SERVES ONE REASON– TO DISCREDIT LOWER RANKS WITH A NON COMBAT DECORATION BY STICKING A V-DEVICE on A NON COMBAT AWARD.THIS WAY YOU CAN CREDIT THOSE WHO ARE IN COMBAT WITH A COMBAT DECORATION ONLY AND AWARD THOSE WHO STAND OUT IN AN ACTION A BRONZE STAR WITH A V-DEVICE!!!

THE ARMY COMMENDATION WITH V-DEVICE DURING THE ENTIRE VIETNAM WAR WAS NOT WELL RECEIVED BY OFFICERS OR ENLISTED MEN AND HAD NO PLACE TO PROPERLY RECOGNIZE SOLDIERS COURAGE IN COMBAT.

NOW OVER 50 YEARS LATER YOU SEE HOW THE BRONZE STAR FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE HAS BEEN { EXPLOITED } BY NON COMBATANTS FOR PERSONAL GAIN IN THE UPPER RANKS!!!!!
