Anti-War Oprah in Jeep Pro-Military Ad a Slap in the Face to US Armed Forces

By Debbie Schlussel

Is it just me . . . or did you also find it odd that Jeep chose anti-war Oprah Winfrey to voice an overwrought reading about welcoming our troops back to America? It’s strange to see Oprah quoted as saying, “We wait. We hope. We pray. Until you’re home again,” since Oprah attacked our troops and their efforts every step of the way when it mattered. Now suddenly, she’s telling them, “We’re a family. We are a nation.” Whatta phony. Now you know why I call her, “HOprah.” Cha-ching! This is the same “chick” who refused to visit our troops when they were over there. Who needs her “welcome home,” now? What–Hanoi Jane wasn’t available?

The ads for the Super Bowl seem to get worse with each year, whether it was the disgusting, low-class GoDaddy ad featuring Israeli draft-dodger Bar Refaeli, or the Coke ad calling graffiti vandals of public property, “Peace Warriors,” or the other Coke ad, a dhimmi deal in which the Westerners competing in the Coke Chase are creeps, and the ultimate winner is the classy Arab with his camel. The only ad I really liked was the patriotic Paul Harvey ad tribute to the American farmer for Dodge Ram. But the Oprah Jeep ad really bugged me.

Maybe I’m wrong, since the conventional wisdom is that her overly dramatic reading welcoming home our troops was “masterful.” Everyone is gushing over it. But not me. When our troops went to war in Iraq and Afghanistan, Oprah used her daytime talk show to run frequent anti-War shows critical of them, aiding and abetting the enemy.

Yes, in retrospect, it was a bad idea to go to either of these countries–since we never intended on fighting a war and pursuing American interests and, instead, sacrificed American lives to build roads and hand out candy to those who hate us and install Iranian-backed Shi’ites into Iraqi leadership in fantasist Muslim Spring “democratic” elections (in which Iraqi Christian votes were not counted). But those of us who were patriots supported the troops and didn’t provide propaganda for the enemies who were killing and maiming them on a daily basis. Oprah was on the other side. She spoke out against the efforts of our troops and featured far-left activists, like Frank Rich, on her show to speak out against what they were doing. At the same time, Oprah did show after show, preaching to her airheaded viewers about how peaceful Islam is and how Muslims are liberal and liberated in places like Jordan which voted down laws making it illegal for a husband to torture his wife.

When Oprah finally did a few shows on our wounded troops, it was to knock America and the U.S. Armed Forces. She knocked America not only for the injured soldiers, but also to say that America’s troops end up homeless and that female troops end up raped by male troops. Hmmm . . . and her Prez is so gung-ho on sending women into combat. Imagine what will happen when Muslims we are fighting (or pretending to fight) get ahold of them. Then, they actually will be raped, and worse. One of the shows she did–which could have been a joint venture of Bin Laden Studios and Harpo Studios (Oprah’s production company)–was entitled: “AMERICAN WAR HEROES: WHY ARE THESE WOMEN NOW HOMELESS?

So, I find it rather despicable that Chrysler paid Oprah a pretty penny to read this “welcome back home, troops”/”America will be whole again” baloney that she doesn’t mean. She wasn’t good to our brave members of the U.S. Armed Forces when they were away from home, and she has no business pretending she’s their biggest cheerleader and a patriot, now.

In the script she reads, Oprah tells our troops that there will be a place for them at home, in jobs, and so on. But how many troops who fought in Iraq or Afghanistan do you think Oprah has hired, will hire? I’d bet money that it’s very few to none.

And regardless of how many U.S. veterans–against whom she spoke out when they needed her support–she now hires, she’s just a fraud and a hypocrite.

When the Bush administration asked Oprah to help, a la the patriotic stars of the 1940s who helped our war efforts, and to visit the troops overseas and show Muslims how an American woman has opportunities and succeeds, Oprah declined. She wanted nothing to do with that.

So, now, when our troops continue to return home, Chrysler Jeep should have picked someone else who did visit the troops and did support their efforts to do the voice-over on their ad.

That Oprah now welcomes home our troops on whom she spit while they died and lost limbs in service to America is nothing less than hypocritical, fraudulent . . . and absolutely disgusting.

We may be “whole again,” someday. But that will only be when anti-American fakers like Oprah have been removed from the national stage of influence, fame, fortune, and non-stop unearned adulation.

Considering Jeep is shutting down its domestic production and moving to China, I’d say its birds of a feather flocking together.

Jeep and Oprah are truly made for each other and in the Age Of Obama, I think its fitting indeed Oprah should finally make an ad just at a time when the US military is being severely downsized.

Say what you like about the Diva Of Daytime TV but she certainly does have an uncanny knack for exquisite timing! Which has been right on schedule.

I think they cut the Oprah ad short, just before the disclaimer of “No troops were actually welcomed home by Oprah for the making of this commercial.” Also, what’s with the passive voice BS? “you were missed, you were cried for…” Huh? What University of Oprah reject wrote that? How about… WE missed you, WE cried for you. Idiots.

But hey, women will soon be commanding infantrymen and women in combat, and earning the coveted Ranger tab (once we lower the standards), so I guess Oprah realizes that with the chickification of the military, that’s gonna be her new demographic.

Chrysler? The Government/UAW car company?

I guess it’s only fitting that the woman that gave the troops a blind eye and aided the enemy as pointed out here, is the same woman to turn a blind eye to the American auto company screwing the American auto worker, and aids the chicoms. The circle of bankrupt is a neat one.

Blecch. I didn’t see the Oprah and and I’m grateful for it. I’m sort of a maverick these days. Unlike all of the beta-males and dullards that “only watch the Super Bowl for the commercials and half-time show,” I only watch the Super Bowl for the football. Beyonce meant the remote control came out and some MMA came on. I was more interested in seeing a blacked out stadium full of people standing around with their thumbs up their asses than that skeeze.

All that said, I did see the Paul Harvey ad, sometime in the 3rd quarter, I think. It’s the only one I remember from the night, and was brilliant. I remember him from when I was a little kid and my mother would turn on the radio to see who provided “the rest of the story.”

Great man, Paul Harvey. Particularly great when compared to that filth Oprah Winfrey. Yeah, we’ll be whole again, once we’re rid of the Marxist that’s been elected here and root out all of the filthy decadent leftist perverts that foisted him upon us. Fat talk show con-artists first.

When I heard Oprah’s voice, I switched channels briefly. Good God, that was cruel, and I do think well of Jeep. But that was uncalled for.

Chrysler seems two-faced here because Chrysler also owns Dodge. I’ve always owned Jeeps but I will not buy a Jeep made in China so I guess I will have to stick with older models.

Also, I believe the voice in the Ram tribute to Paul Harvey was Tom Selleck. It sure sounded like him if it was not. They should have hired Gary Sinese for the Jeep commercial.

That was code for saying we’re whole again because of Obama. They always talk in code. Anyway, it’s very disturbing to me that so many people are completely mesmerized by slow-motion video, music, and syrupy speeches. I think people must have an I.Q. of about 40.

…a VA denial of your claim, no job, no hope, no help, but hey, we love ya, no shit. See my support our troops bumper sticker.

She is channeling Maya Angelou… pimping propaganda for Obama and 2016. Thanks to all vets out there!

Debbie, did you even in the US military in any capacity?

HF: Whether or not I (or Oprah) served is not the issue here (and I am opposed to women in the military, but my father served in the Army during Vietnam). It is whether or not Oprah supported the troops she now pretends to welcome home. And she did not. I supported the troops every step of the way. I revere our U.S. Armed Forces and the sacrifices they make. She doesn’t. DS

Seen Bob Hope show Dec. 1967 , Plieku South Vietnam , thankful for the stars who performed and USO. Oprah has shown us her true colors , “Liberal Red” . I wonder what position she’ll have in the , transformed society .? Maybe not much, she’ll be too busy studying verse from the Quran.

“We wait. We hope. We pray”. I almost upChuck Hageled my food. I say almost because it’s steak and potatoes night and man was that some good grub. Anyway I just think that it’s the height of hypocrisy that The Oprah is doing a welcome home troops commercial. This fake phoney balogna was(and still is)one of the biggest anti-war liberal wind bags around. During both wars in Iraq and in the ‘can this fat hag couldn’t get enough of slamming our troops. I still remember the episode where The Oprah had on that girly man Frank Rich. If ever there was a more detestable pantload than that mealy mouthed scumbag. Say what you want about President Bush but he was thoughtful enough to ask the cow to help out with troop morale but she wouldn’t have none of it. Now since her boy and his howler monkey are stinking up the WH she’s willing to throw her considerable weight behind (or is that weighted behind)this project. To bad it stank along with the majority of the commericals. Especially that one with that draft-dodging skank Bar Refaeli. The poor geek looked like he was going to hyperventilate. Yuck. The only good commericals were the baby Clydesdale and the Paul Harvey Dodge Ram. The Oprah will forever be worthy of ridicule and scorn in my book. And speaking of some good old fashion schadenfreude. Due to the machinations of The Wookie and al-Jarrett the dumbass diva of daytime TV is public enema number one at the WH. I’m sure that President and Mrs Bush would’ve treated her fat highness a little better. Don’t worry though Oprah we will be whole again. When the Henderson and his Harry leave DC. That way I can give them and you the one finger salute because as far as I’m conerned that’s what you all deserve from this former troop. Go Navy!

The insidious subtext of the welcome home theme is the leftist screed, “Support the troops. Bring them home”.
And for those useful idiots who believe Sotero’s pronouncement that the war is over, then this fiction should be proof enough for them. As for Chrysler, perhaps they are trying to appear as a softer and gentler military contractor in order to appeal to the useful idiots.

Thanks for calling this nightmarish bitch, Oafrah, out for this. I watched this SB for the commercials, mainly (I’m of the ilk who sees no point in watching the SB or making a party out of it unless my team is in it), and when this one came on with her sickening voice-over and treacly, insincere mooings, I literally felt sick: not just at the commercial, but the fact that millions would be fooled by her self-promoting and patronizing bleats.

I became quite skeptic when I heard Oprah claim she was so dirt-poor and lonely as a child that her two best friends were cockroaches. (yes, bugs that she named Melinda and Sandy)But now the Daily Rash is reporting that not only are Melinda and Sandy for real, they’ve been found alive in Mississippi! http://www.thedailyrash.com/oprahs-childhood-cockroach-friends-melinda-and-sandy-found-alive-in-mississippi
