White Men Now Minority Among Congressional Dems; A Congress of “Proud” “Firsts” – 1st Bisexual, Etc.

By Debbie Schlussel

Today, the new Congress was sworn in, and it’s being touted as a Congress of “historical firsts.” The media is gushing and celebrating the fact that White man are now the minority among Democrats in Congress. It’s the not-so-subtle racism that we tolerate from them on a daily basis. But somehow I doubt the Founding Fathers dreamt of a Congress featuring the first open bisexual chick, the first to list no religious affiliation (the bisexual chick again), and so on. I also doubt they dreamt of a day when White men were the endangered minority among the opposition in Congress.

nowhitemenblackwhitemask

History is not about being the first open deviant in Congress (and the first bisexual certainly isn’t the first deviant there, just the latest). History is about being the first free men who fought about states’ rights versus federalism, who were renaissance men and well-read geniuses with tremendous skills and abilities. It isn’t about sleeping with both sexes and bragging about it. By the way, in case you were wondering, there is no first “babymama” in Congress this time around. That’s already happened, as I noted on this site. Frankly, I think “history” won’t actually be made until the first Former Hooker Single Mother Lesbian Muslim Vegan Off-the-Grid Kardashian New Black Panther Sperm Donor is elected to Congress. We should probably just skip ahead in time to the golden age of the “House of Representin'” under President Camacho (from the movie, “Idiocracy,” which really isn’t a movie fiction about the future, but the truth about our present).

I have nothing against the first Hindu in Congress or the first female double amputee, even though I strongly disagree with Tammy Duckworth’s politics (and I oppose women in combat, which is how she lost her legs). But the first open bisexual and the fact that White men are now the minority in the party of Obama–those aren’t causes for celebration. They’re just symptoms of the fact that America is losing its grip and will never regain it from the current decline–a good deal of which happened because of America willingly losing the culture war, not protecting its borders, and creating a gimme, gimme, gimme society. And, to me, one of the biggest tragedies of the new Congress is that the bravest recent Member of Congress–White or minority–Allen West, isn’t among them. Unlike most of the Whites (of either party) in Congress, West actually cared about the preservation of Western culture and values and was proud to say so.

And instead of searching for true conservatives of any complexion, the Republicans are engaged, now, in an affirmative action effort that won’t help them win anything.

The new Congress to be sworn in on Thursday will be the most diverse ever, with women, minorities and gays making large gains in a shift that underscores the political effect of changing demographics and social mores.

In addition to the greater minority makeup across Congress, the House will have its first Hindu member, its first female combat veterans and its first openly bisexual member. The Senate will have its first Buddhist.

The increased diversity comes mainly from House Democrats, with the Republican conference made up overwhelmingly of white, Christian males. That split in some ways reflects the divide in the electorate in last year’s presidential race, with President Barack Obama winning convincingly among minorities, women and gays while losing white voters to Republican Mitt Romney.

Republicans worried about their appeal among some of the largest or fastest-growing voter groups say they plan to make a new effort to recruit minorities and women as candidates. “We will have a very focused and concerted effort in terms of the diversity of our candidates,” said Rep. Greg Walden of Oregon, the new chairman of the House Republican campaign arm. “We’re going to be effective in our recruiting.”

Mr. Walden’s Democratic counterpart noted the differences in the new Congress’s makeup. “The demography is changing throughout the country, and it’s better to stay ahead of that than have to catch up to it,” said Rep. Steve Israel of New York.

For the first time, white men will be a minority among House Democrats, with blacks and Latinos adding to the party’s numbers. Democrats Tammy Duckworth of Illinois and Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii will be the first female combat veterans in Congress, with the later [DS: sic] also the chamber’s first Hindu.

“My Hinduism…has taught me that true happiness comes when you’re doing things for other people and not just living for yourself,” Ms. Gabbard said.

Kyrsten Sinema, an Arizona Democrat, is the first openly bisexual person elected to Congress. Raised a Mormon in a low-income family, she lists her religious affiliation as none—a rarity in politics.

In the Senate, Democrats have more women—of the record 20 women senators, 16 are Democrats. But Republicans count three ethnic minorities among their ranks, compared with two Democrats.

The new Senate will have that chamber’s first Buddhist in Mazie Hirono, a Hawaii Democrat and current House member, who succeeds the retiring Daniel Akaka, a Democrat. The Senate will also have its first openly gay member in Tammy Baldwin, a Democrat from Wisconsin, who succeeds Democrat Herb Kohl.

Ms. Baldwin and Ms. Sinema are part of the largest group of openly gay members of Congress in history. Among them are Mark Takano, an Asian-American Democrat from California, who will be the chamber’s first openly gay ethnic minority. In all, six members of the new House are openly gay.

Mr. Takano and Ms. Gabbard are among the four new members of Congress, all Democrats, who are Asian-American or Pacific Islanders—ethnic groups among which Republicans think they can make inroads.

“I think you’re going to see a far more aggressive outreach in the Hispanic and Asian communities for example, with far more Spanish-language advertising and a far more aggressive grass-roots effort to reach into minority communities,” said Whit Ayres, a Republican consultant. “There’s no reason in the world why Republicans should be losing Asian voters.”

Republicans did run some high-profile House candidates in 2012 who didn’t fit their conference’s current mold. Mia Love, an African-American, lost a race for a Utah seat. Richard Tisei would have been Congress’s only openly gay Republican had he won a Massachusetts race.

Rep. Allen West, one of two black Republicans in the House, lost his re-election bid. The other, Rep. Tim Scott of South Carolina, is set to become the only African-American in the Senate of either party, after being appointed to a vacant seat.

The House of Representin’ is Here . . .

Say hasta la vista to America as you know it. The Congress does reflect the American single mothers, baby daddies, Obamaphone holders, and their enablers choosing “our” leaders. And they’re gonna “lead” us into oblivion.

50% of Americans just told Gallup that America’s best days are behind us. And, sad to say, they are right.

Those “evil White males” whose extinction the media and the liberals are celebrating? They’re the ones who created America and made it great. And, now, we are on the decline. Coincidence? Hardly.

If we dared celebrate the end of Black men, we’d be sexist racists celebrating genocide. Celebrating the end of White men is exactly the same thing. Except that we tolerate that.

People who promote this racism as “diversity” are idiots who value diversity for diversity’s sake. And diversity, in and of itself, is not a virtue. It never will be.

It’s just accepted systematic racism and bigotry by those who can’t stand achievement and greatness and dedicate their lives to forever dumbing it down.

However “diverse” the new Congress is, it’s the least great Congress ever. And that’s saying a lot.

The Kyrsten Sinemas of America aren’t the ones who made it great. Facts are stubborn things.

Good point.

DS_ROCKS! on January 3, 2013 at 2:49 pm

Well, at least the Octomom hasn’t been elected to Congress yet.

It seems like every 20 years there is some new degradation of electoral politics. In 1972, the McGovernites took over Democratic party for good. In 1992 we had the Year of the Woman in Congress which presided over our weakening in the face of the huge victory we achieved over Communism, and paved the way for our appeasement of the Muslims. And now, this…

But the Republicans certainly bear a large share of the responsibility for what we have now. What do they stand for anymore? Like all the regular readers and commenters I am outraged at their conduct in the recent tax increase ‘negotiations’. But fiscal responsibility was the only issue where there was even a pretense that they differed from the Democrats. Now this issue has disappeared, although there are still a couple of local politicians who stand for something, like Gov. Walker of Wisconsin, although he appears to be in retreat now, and not pursuing a campaign to make Wisconsin a right-to-work state.

So what do the Republicans have left? Personality, personality. The Party seems to be engaged in personal and personality promotion — Rubio this, Rubio that, Ryan this, Ryan that, the person, not the program, and certainly not the political record.

And the discussion of the first Hindu, the first this, the first that falls right into this quagmire. There are no real politics any more, just promotion of personalities with a little coating of fake political window dressing — but that coating is getting thinner and thinner.

Not pleasant to behold.

Little Al on January 3, 2013 at 2:56 pm

    Bravo Little Al.

I have never been a Republican and now I never want to be one. I’d be proud to be one IF those bogans were not watered down and SCARED donks.

Last election was the LAST time I was going to vote for a RINO (but in Libtard eyes a far, right-wing extremist! The meme worked!) because if Obama-Putin got re-elected, we’d be in nowhere’s land. And we are.

I will always vote but I am not voting for frauds anymore. And that means that glorified donk Scott Brown. I didn’t vote for him against Chief-Spreading-Bull Warren and I will not vote for the fraud against that idiot Mah-key (say it in a shrill, Bostonian accent!).

New era, new rules. It’s 3rd party time. Before, that was a loser proposition but now it’s the only way to go and true Conservatives will have to lose many elections to gain strength and become a formidable option. It’s gonna take a very long time…

Debbie, a minor correction: it is not the movie “idiocracy” that you should be pointing out, but the Novella by the great CM Kornbluth, “The Marching Morons.” Cyril, who died in 1958 at age 35 from malignant hypertension induced by his sufferings as a machinegunner in the Battle of the Bulge, was one of the greatest science fiction writers of the 20th Century. “The Marching Morons” satire grows more pungent and lethal with each passing year, and is available free on the web. Well worth your time, and that of the readers. THEN read “The Little Black Bag,” set in that same Universe. THEN watch the Twilight Zone episode with Burgess Meredith.

And then, if you wish, watch “Idiocracy.”

    Occam's Tool on January 7, 2013 at 4:30 pm

It is amazing that in the article that Debbie cited there was nothing about any achievement or skills this diverse crowd brought to the table. Simply being an amputee, dark skinned, or engaging in some non-standard sexual activity was enough. It made these people appear to be no more than the sum of their “identity”. It is a collectivist ideology that looks at groups, rather than individuals.

On the regular news sites you encounter the profoundly ignorant, openly racist minorities, people dripping with envy, and other unsavory characters. Some of the responses that I receive for even the most neutral or drab observations are quite often irrelevant to the topic or nearly deranged. I sometimes no longer bother to comment in some places, due to the tone of the comments already made.

Worry01 on January 3, 2013 at 3:34 pm

Dosen’t DS do the same thing by not pointing out why , these people aren’t good for congress? The fact that they’re dark skinned or bisexual is enough to prove they aren’t right for the job.

Her point might be that the media is falling all over themselves for making this a “historic” congress, but she also isn’t point out why they’re no good for the job.

P: RIF – Reading Is Fundamental. Never said this means they aren’t right for the job (in the case of skin color). But skin color and ethnicity are accidents or coincidences of birth. They aren’t virtues or achievements. And the point of the post is the racist celebration of the decline of straight White males. And, yes, I think publicly announcing you’re a bisexual means you don’t have the discretion to be in Congress. With whom you are sleeping is not a Congressional qualification or any sort of info we need to know. That someone feels the need to announce it is an indication of further problems. DS

pet on January 3, 2013 at 4:36 pm

Not really. It is the obligation of a candidate and those who report on them to state what their knowledge, skills, and abilities are. Being told that a newly elected legislator is an amputee, bisexual, or a Hindu conceals more than it reveals. We are supposed to revel in their identity, rather than in what makes such people worthwhile. It is not a reader’s responsibility to hunt down additional biographical information on each person mentioned in an article on newly elected people. The article itself should tell the tale.

What does your having sex with men and women have to do with your legislative skills? IF sexual activity in and of itself were a qualification for anything strippers and prostitutes would be moving to the head of the class, Do you assume that everyone who is elected to Congress is good?

      Worry01 on January 3, 2013 at 5:16 pm

Debbie, I agree with your response to pet, except since when have Americans been discreet about themselves or what they do? It’s been a long time, almost since before my time. Actually, it was the early boomers of the 60’s who “let it all hang out, baby.” and *we* have a lot to answer for.

I always thought Idiocracy was the Disney wish fulfillment version of the scenario of what would happen when the libs who were never really that bright finally dumbed down America to a level they could be comfortable with.
It’s a very average movie about less than average people who are never quite smart enough to work out what’s going on around them.
Sound familiar.
But at least at the end of the day an average guy comes along and gets them to see reason because he’s just a little bit smarter than the rest of them and he can help them to be more happily average.
Yeah right.

Frankz on January 3, 2013 at 5:01 pm

There has been deviants in Congress for quite awhile. Barney Frank ring a bell? There have even been enemies of the state in Congress: Keith Ellison (muzzie), the Congressional Black Caucus (all enemies), and various traitors (any Kennedy, and democrat from Kalifornia). This is the same old crap, except sexual deviants are more open about it.

FrenchKiss on January 3, 2013 at 5:10 pm

You’re right on, FrenchKiss! I especially like that you hi-lighted the POS Barney’s Frank. Proud, gay Conservatives are embarrassed and put off by that walking mess of spittle.

I’d also like to add the long deadsy pervo Gerry Studds…another celebrated Boston politician celebrated for being a deviant and never losing his job.

And you had the Kennedy’s in there too! Correctamundo! We have a new, red-headed dorky one filling Barney’s Frank *ahem* seat today. Taxachusetts loves their deviant politicians.

Fauxcahontas Warren, John Tierney, Joe Kennedy III.

And the dirty, scummy town of Lawrence has a deviant Latino named Willie Lantigua they can’t seem to get rid of no matter how brazen and sociopathic he is in the face of his many scams and political ploys.

In Massachusettes, when we flush the toilet, the effluvia doesn’t get flushed, it’s sprays out like a geyser!

Skunky on January 3, 2013 at 5:52 pm

@Pet, Maybe they’ll be fantastic at the job but are you sure the fact that they’re ‘dark skinned or bisexual’ isn’t the thing you like about them most? Just curious.

Go wag the dog’s ass in it’s own agenda somewhere else pet boy.
Jerk.

Frankz on January 3, 2013 at 5:17 pm

If I thought this was even remotely funny, I’d joke the celebration of the first ‘bisexual’ freak was perhaps a Hollywood movie. Hollywood is famous for loving to craft films where a Lezzer chick will leave her girl for a man. I find that extremely offensive, as I would hope many Lesbians would. Almost all of the *REAL* Lesbians I have met & known may want to look like a dude, but there is no way in hell they are attracted to dudes.

And I have always wondered why silly, political gays put up with being lumped in with pervo “Bisexuals”. “Bisexuals” are just equal opportunity perverts. At least at one time gays fought for their rights. When you’re a “Bisexual” one can conveeeeeeeniently pop on whatever side the calm is on. I don’t respect or like them AT ALL. In my eyes they are beneath contempt and whale caca. I don’t like them at all.

It’s elementary. You either like men or women and you KNOW which one you prefer. Liking both is perversion on overdrive.

I don’t respect Duckworth at all. I think she panders to Islam and will wear a head covering (I can’t think of the correct name for it…I don’t think it’s hijab…) when out doing her pandering thing. She did fight for this country but I see it as a double betrayal that she does not understand Islam and that she’s a modern day Commie Democrat.

I know others have more respect for our soldiers who have served but I just don’t with her.

And I don’t celebrate mindless, identity-politics diversity anymore. If you’re a good representative (not just of Congress) I don’t care what you are. I am into the character and ability.

DS is right. It’s more decline. I know we see it clearly but sometimes it’s hard to grasp the decay when in the thick of it all.

The gang-rape of SA Journalist Lara Logan in Egypt after Mubarak’s ouster (more Mooooslim on Moooooslim violence). The gang rape and subsequent death of a Indian woman in India where after they gang raped her, they literally threw her under the bus they raped her on. The gang rapes of UK women by ‘Asian males’ (for the un-PC, that misnomer is an euphemism for Moooooooslims NOT Chinamen, Japs, etc…). The inability for quisling Norwegians to enjoy their own country for fear of being gang raped by immigrant pig Moooooslims. The on-going gang rapes in Egpyt…especially when they have rallies in the square. The use and disappearance of Afghani Bacha Bazi boys in Afghanistan by many pig, paedo pervo Mooooslims who pray 5X per day facing Mecca.

The taking over of Northern Mali by Al Qaeda Moooooslim thugs (AQIM), the terror of Boko Haram in Nigeria, the terror of Al Shabaab (and Somali Pirates) in Somalia. The racist genocide of black Africans in Sudan by Mooooooslim war pigs.

If the point of your post is “the racist celebration of the decline of straight White males”” then why must you include comments like this in your article: “Those “evil White males” whose extinction the media and the liberals are celebrating? They’re the ones who created America and made it great. And, now, we are on the decline. Coincidence? Hardly.”?

The implication that you’re making seems to be that only white males are qualified to run the country. And yes I read what you wrote about West, it’s just that that particular quote makes it seem that in general you only believe white males should be in charge of things.

Joe on January 3, 2013 at 9:17 pm

Joe, there is no such implication. Debbie is commenting on the disparagement of such people by the likes of Nancy Pelosi and the media. If you cannot fathom the difference, it is probably best that you skip reading blogs. You lack the reading comprehension needed.

Also Joey, you seemed to miss Debbie’s comment on former Congressman West: “Member of Congress–White or minority–Allen West, isn’t among them. Unlike most of the Whites (of either party) in Congress, West actually cared about the preservation of Western culture and values and was proud to say so.”

Tossing it back to you Joe, it seems that you cannot fathom a minority being something other than a leftist. Is Al Sharpton your model minority? Or, perhaps former Congressman Barney Frank who put his male prostitute on his staff payroll is the best sort of gay? The problem with identity politics is that it allows people to live off of their identity, rather than on any ability or personal veracity. Congressman Rangel evaded federal taxes on rental income that he received from a Carribean property for years. Mr. Rangel also enjoyed subsidized rent on three rent controlled apartments in NYC, even though his legislative salary would have put him in the top ten percent of income earners in the United States. If Charlie Rangel had been a White Republican, he would faced prosecution for income tax evasion at the federal level. At the state level, our friend would have almost certainly been pursued by the housing authority for New York City for fraud. He only used one of those rent controlled apartments for a residence.

Those are things to think about Joe.

However, the principal meaning of jihad throughout Islamic history and in Islamic law is armed struggle against unbelievers to subjugate them as inferiors under the rule of Sharia. The four schools of Sunni Muslim jurisprudence are clear about jihad:
Shafi’i school: A Shafi’i manual of Islamic law that was certified in 1991 by the clerics at Al-Azhar University, one of the leading authorities in the Islamic world, as a reliable guide to Sunni orthodoxy, stipulates about jihad that “the caliph makes war upon Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians…until they become Muslim or pay the non-Muslim poll tax.” It adds a comment by Sheikh Nuh ‘Ali Salman, a Jordanian expert on Islamic jurisprudence: the caliph wages this war only “provided that he has first invited [Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians] to enter Islam in faith and practice, and if they will not, then invited them to enter the social order of Islam by paying the non-Muslim poll tax (jizya)…while remaining in their ancestral religions.” (‘Umdat al-Salik, o9..
Of course, there is no caliph today, and hence the oft-repeated claim that Osama et al are waging jihad illegitimately, as no state authority has authorized their jihad. But they explain their actions in terms of defensive jihad, which needs no state authority to call it, and becomes “obligatory for everyone” (‘Umdat al-Salik, o9.3) if a Muslim land is attacked. The end of the defensive jihad, however, is not peaceful coexistence with non-Muslims as equals: ‘Umdat al-Salik specifies that the warfare against non-Muslims must continue until “the final descent of Jesus.” After that, “nothing but Islam will be accepted from them, for taking the poll tax is only effective until Jesus’ descent” (o9..
Hanafi school: A Hanafi manual of Islamic law repeats the same injunctions. It insists that people must be called to embrace Islam before being fought, “because the Prophet so instructed his commanders, directing them to call the infidels to the faith.” It emphasizes that jihad must not be waged for economic gain, but solely for religious reasons: from the call to Islam “the people will hence perceive that they are attacked for the sake of religion, and not for the sake of taking their property, or making slaves of their children, and on this consideration it is possible that they may be induced to agree to the call, in order to save themselves from the troubles of war.”
However, “if the infidels, upon receiving the call, neither consent to it nor agree to pay capitation tax [jizya], it is then incumbent on the Muslims to call upon God for assistance, and to make war upon them, because God is the assistant of those who serve Him, and the destroyer of His enemies, the infidels, and it is necessary to implore His aid upon every occasion; the Prophet, moreover, commands us so to do.” (Al-Hidayah, II.140)
Maliki school: Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406), a pioneering historian and philosopher, was also a Maliki legal theorist. In his renowned Muqaddimah, the first work of historical theory, he notes that “in the Muslim community, the holy war is a religious duty, because of the universalism of the Muslim mission and (the obligation to) convert everybody to Islam either by persuasion or by force.” In Islam, the person in charge of religious affairs is concerned with “power politics,” because Islam is “under obligation to gain power over other nations.”
Hanbali school: The great medieval theorist of what is commonly known today as radical or fundamentalist Islam, Ibn Taymiyya (Taqi al-Din Ahmad Ibn Taymiyya, 1263-1328), was a Hanbali jurist. He directed that “since lawful warfare is essentially jihad and since its aim is that the religion is God’s entirely and God’s word is uppermost, therefore according to all Muslims, those who stand in the way of this aim must be fought.”
Majid Khadduri was an Iraqi scholar of Islamic law of international renown. In his book War and Peace in the Law of Islam, which was published in 1955 and remains one of the most lucid and illuminating works on the subject, Khadduri says this about jihad:
The state which is regarded as the instrument for universalizing a certain religion must perforce be an ever expanding state. The Islamic state, whose principal function was to put God’s law into practice, sought to establish Islam as the dominant reigning ideology over the entire world….The jihad was therefore employed as an instrument for both the universalization of religion and the establishment of an imperial world state. (P. 51)
Imran Ahsan Khan Nyazee, Assistant Professor on the Faculty of Shari’ah and Law of the International Islamic University in Islamabad. In his 1994 book The Methodology of Ijtihad, he quotes the twelfth century Maliki jurist Ibn Rushd: “Muslim jurists agreed that the purpose of fighting with the People of the Book…is one of two things: it is either their conversion to Islam or the payment of jizyah.” Nyazee concludes: “This leaves no doubt that the primary goal of the Muslim community, in the eyes of its jurists, is to spread the word of Allah through jihad, and the option of poll-tax [jizya] is to be exercised only after subjugation” of non-Muslims.

This is Islam “religion of peace”.
Every single person living in western civilization that believes the above (like Samir) should be condemned as an enemy of the state.
The government perpetrated 911? You are delusional Sam as are those that believe in the above posted 4 tenets of Sunni jurisprudence.

Upset over first Buddhist, Muslim and Hindu?

I’m still upset over the first Jew and Catholic.

The only diversity I need is whether you are a Baptist or Methodist

the rest of them can ship on out

Steve baaaa don’t know about the Founding Fathers, who were disproportionately Deists. (And please, let’s not have an argument about this known fact, people.)

Oh, and baaa… Baptists are canonical Protestants?

“Richard Tisei would have been Congress’ only openly gay Republican had he won a Massachusetts race.”

Yeah, and Tisei lost to a white, Libtard crook HACK whose wife had to do 30 days in the hole (Uriah Heep!) because she was money-laundering for her crook brother and crook family.

The Massa(hole)chusetts Libtards didn’t want the moderate gay dude. They wanted the career Libtard HACK who lied and said he didn’t know all the $$$ in his bank account came from his wife’s money laundering for the illegal casino business her brother was running.

John Tierney also had campaign workers hold up signs outside voting precincts that said “You know who to vote for to keep your Welfare checks coming”.

He didn’t have to find a job in the dreaded private sector. He’s warm and living another day as a Massachusettes Liberal HACK in the Hackarama!

One of the post mortem questions of the richly overpaid, totally beaten Romney braintrust was, “Where did all the white male voters go?” My first answer is that more of them than you expect are dead. My dad and mom and their ilk were true blue Republicans. My dad is 90, my mom 85. They still vote. Their friends and neighbors are . . . well . . . dead. Second, as with college, as with self-employment, and as with voting, white males are checking out. I think there are two psychological factors at work: one a reaction, the other selfish. First, if you treat someone/anyone as yesterday’s news and have stopped listening to what they have to say, their reaction is a mental F-You. Now I understand that demographically the white population is decreasing percentage wise in the United States, but it’s still formidable. Does anyone really think that the generalized white male looks at the likes of Harry Reid or Mitch McConnell or Barney Frank or Nancy Pelosi or Maxine Waters and thinks, “That person speaks for me!”? (Whoa, this is getting long): Take baseball for example. Modern society and the media and the snarky, smarter- than- you- because- we-told- you- we are social critics, have all decided that baseball is some 1950s anachronism, unimportant to advertisers, young people, and trend setters. Off the radar. So the white, male baseball loving American citizenry don’t even care to fight the battle anymore. The stadiums remain full, the game integrates more and more, its popularity expands internationally in ways that football hasn’t . . . but it’s an “old, white person’s game.” White, male baseball fans have just walked away from the contemporary argument about it: Go ahead, smirk at the lousy t.v. ratings for the World Series. Fine, fine, fine. Can you please just leave us alone now? Second, and disturbingly, there is a spoiled prince aspect to a lot of young, white American males. The shockingly disturbing behavior by the mostly white members of the Stubenville High School football team in relation to the rape of the unconscious minor is a signature example of a privileged group of people of whom nothing is demanded and to whom consequences can be avoided. Why bother making yourself a valuable member of society when you can be an ADULT and still live in your parent’s house, driving the pick-up truck you were GIVEN as a 16th birthday present, haphazardly working at the family business for which you’re paid full boat, and spending weekends at the river or Las Vegas with your girlfriend? College? Military? Starting out on your own? Why? When every day is Christmas, why change things? And if anyone thinks I’m generalizing, I am precisely reciting the lives of about a dozen young men that I know. So, for both good and bad, white men have sniffed the air of 21st Century America and decided, “Nothing here worth fighting about.”

Right now it’s about 10 degrees with the wind chill factor in the Rockaways & Staten Island…and the White Wing Republicans want those people to SUFFER another two weeks, MINIMUM??

SAM & SKUNKY, both of you take facts and completely twist the point of view on them! You both spew a message of hate and you truly deserve eachother! Both Judaism and Islam deliver a very similar message when it comes to handling yourself and your fellow man. However, both of you choose to use a disgusting message of Jihadism and Zionism rather than one of unity and peace. EXTREMISM is the root of all the misery we’re enduring both here and abroad! There’s big business in war and you guys are just puppets that help feed that beast! You sit on here arguing with one another while you fail to see that your message is identical! Your solution is to use gasoline to extinguish a flame! You’re both free to speak your minds cause this is America, but I love how you’re at eachother throats when you’re basically saying the same thing!

Kershaw on January 4, 2013 at 2:40 am

Krysten Sinema: Valedictorian at 16, graduated with BA from BYU (she was raised Mormon) at 18, Masters of social work 4 years later in 1999; 5 years later earned her JD from Arizona State, where she later earned a PhD in Justice Studies. Before she started practicing law in 2005, she had been a social worker from 1995-2002. And a sad story of living in an abandoned gas station with her penniless family for two years to boot.

It’s not that she had no accomplishments to speak of, they were omitted, which would be a fault of the journalist, not the subject. Had the article been slanted towards “Valedictorian joins congress” it wouldn’t make a flashy news story to get people gushing or foaming, so naturally “First Open Bisexual” was what they led with. That she’s a blonde lawyer with a background in social worker is SOOOO boring.

Robert on January 4, 2013 at 4:06 am

What a good point, Robert. I had to force myself to stay with the first paragraph that lists her curriculum vitae. ZZZZZ indeed.

Since she was a valedictorian (*look of amazement*) I wonder if she is hispanic and illegal….

Skunky on January 4, 2013 at 10:41 am

So sorry, I left my English to Australobonics dictionary at home last night. I’ll try this: She no bogan donk, she duxed it all to get her fair dinkum PhD & JD. Don’t care myself if she likes Sheilas or old fellas in her Matilda, and leaves lippy on every freckle she sees, but the fact that you’ve rubbished her bedmates and none of her whale caca politics is due to a clever journalistic sleight of hand by someone who has played you well.

Robert on January 4, 2013 at 3:14 pm

Debbie could make a lot of money accepting ads for reading comprehension programs, and displaying them prominently on this site.

It is not that she was emphasizing this person’s sexual practices at the expense of politics, exactly the opposite. She was CRITICIZING those who, in fact, do that.

But building self-esteem is more important than building reading comprehension, I guess. Not hard to understand when so many ‘teachers’ are functionally illiterate, and more interested in roaming around in their fascist and communist bands than teaching, or acquiring the literacy needed to do so.

Little Al on January 4, 2013 at 6:47 pm

Robert, how did you play me well? Even a broken clock is correct 2x per day and you were ridgy-didge in that her curriculum vitae was a snore-bore. If you won’t take the credit for that, I certainly will! LOLOL.

Who cares if you’re offended by what I think of bisexuals. Whether you’re here or not I will believe it proudly. If you wanna prop up perverts be my guest. I don’t need your approval. EVER.

But when you’re right, you’re right and I gotta give you props for pointing out a cement wall can only be jazzed up by the freaks she sleeps with. 😉

Skunky on January 4, 2013 at 8:50 pm

Well now, Robert, I certainly don’t think you have to worry about being a valedictorian. You can’t even spell Ms. Sinema’s first name correctly. I guess you must have been in one of those schools that ‘taught’ critical thinking skills, rather than reading, arithmetic and spelling.

Little Al on January 4, 2013 at 11:56 am

And Justice Studies? Sounds like the same kind of politically correct drivel as social work.

Little Al on January 4, 2013 at 11:58 am

What can I say Al, typing on my phone’s virtual keyboard at 4am isn’t my forte. Though agreed, Justice Studies sounds like dressed up social work.

Robert on January 4, 2013 at 3:24 pm

“I also doubt they dreamt of a day when White men were the endangered minority among the opposition in Congress.”

Of course they didn’t. They also didn’t envision a day when slavery would be outlawed and women allowed to vote.

Welcome to a pluralistic society where “all men are created equal.” Change it if you must, but that’s the reality of what you’ve got.

Italkit on January 4, 2013 at 6:30 am

Italkit, the Founding Father’s certainly envisioned the end of slavery.

skzion on January 4, 2013 at 3:41 pm

Well, it’s a little more complicated than that. Remember at that time, women didn’t have the right to vote. And the overall quality of presidents during that time was better than their overall quality afterwards. And you had to have property, i.e. a stake in this country, in order to vote. If that were the case today, we wouldn’t have a nation of 50% moochers and takers.

Your methodological mistake is to look at Debbie’s comment in a vacuum without considering the context and implications of the comment. I think they did actually consider that slavery would be outlawed. The cotton gin hadn’t yet been invented, and slavery was on the decline, having been banished in several Northern states during that era.

And women voting? I’m sure people like Abigail Adams envisaged this, and communicated her thoughts to her husband, and I wouldn’t at all be surprised if many of the framers did consider this a probability in the future.

And remember that equality was considered equality of opportunity, not outcome. But the meaning of equality has drastically changed, and that is certainly something that had not been contemplated.

I don’t think the founders expected a society with different ‘oppressed’ groups clamoring for more and more handouts at the expense of those actually driving this society forward.

Little Al on January 4, 2013 at 10:47 am

Debbie, your social commentaries are right on target. You are like a prophet who speaks the truth which liberals, their enablers and RINOs refuse to accept. Societal decline, decay and destruction are all self-inflicted wounds.

Marc on January 4, 2013 at 12:25 pm

More worrisome than who Sinema gets intimate with (as entirely too many people get stuck on that) and doesn’t pray to is Sinema’s self-description as a Prada socialist. Reminds me of part of Brett Butler’s routine from the 90s:

“Politically, I’m such a hypocrite. I’m a socialist…with a gold card. I think we need a revolution, but I’m scared I won’t be able to find any good moisturizer after it happens.”

Robert on January 4, 2013 at 3:26 pm

Robert, if bisexuality is a perversion in some people’s mind (as it is in mine…and a weakling one as the gays who fought for ‘gay rights’ are the brave sorts that fought for the freedoms gained for the back-bencher bisexuals to take advantage of but really having no skin in the game lost during the hard times) then it indeed a legitimate issue for some to ‘get stuck on’.

Especially, as you rightly pointed out, her curriculum vitae is a non-drug facsimile for “Lunesta”.

Her boring academic pedigree don’t sparkle, so throw in some perversion and BAM! A dud is now a fool’s diamond.

Skunky on January 4, 2013 at 10:03 pm

Alas, there is no diversity of thought amongst these Democrats. While they look different, they are, inside, the same. What the Congress needs is diversity of thought, not more homosexuals, lesbians, Hindus,. Buddhists, etc. By the way, on the front page of our local Orange County, NY, rag, there is a picture of Boehner swearing one Mr.Sean Maloney, White, his kids (both minorities) and his PARTNER. The story above seemed to miss this openly gay, new member of Congress.

JeffT on January 4, 2013 at 6:10 pm

Still too many judeo-christian men in both houses of congress…all are indocternated in voting israel-first…..we need to get these traitors out of d.c.

bruce on January 4, 2013 at 6:37 pm

White males are an offical minority period. What I think we need is not a “3rd Party”, but a conservative party. We have only one political party in America which so happens to have two branches.
