Ashley Judd Said What?! Thank G-d Kentucky is a Red State

By Debbie Schlussel

Why is has-been actress Ashley Judd (real name: Ashley Tyler Ciminella) endorsing the wacko idea that all heterosexual sex with women, even if it’s consensual, is rape by the man?

ashleyjudd

ashleyjuddobama2

In a recent speech, Constitutional scholar Judd urged her audience to read the work of Catharine MacKinnon, the University of Michigan law professor whose claim to fame is her bizarre and warped assertion that any man who has sex with an adult woman is a rapist, regardless of consent by the woman. See the video, below, in which she says, “Read Catharine MacKinnon!” (at about 3:17 into it).

Judd is rumored to be seeking the U.S. Senate seat from Kentucky in 2014, and so she’s building her resume and claiming to be an expert on child sex-trafficking. Her credentials in that field apparently consist of starring in movies (most of them crappy), kicking fellow classmates out of her home near Harvard (after she invited them), attending University of Kentucky basketball games, and wearing a dumb t-shirt that says, “This is What a Feminist Looks Like.” Problem is, even if she had any credentials other than these–and she doesn’t, she’s now endorsing this fruitcake, MacKinnon, and her “all hetero sex between adults is rape of the woman” BS as some sort of background for child sex trafficking. Yes, Ashley, MacKinnon was even talking about sex between you and your hubby, race car driver Dario Franchitti (who is mockingly known as “Mr. Ashley Judd” in racing circles, since he ain’t the one wearing the pants in the marriage), which has thankfully never resulted in a new generation of Ashley Judds.

Despite the conventional wisdom about the “changing electorate,” the fact remains that Kentucky is strongly in the “red state” category and will NEVER vote for this nutjob with a Hollywood resume. Thank G-d for that. I’ll bet her stances against hunting and the coal mining industry will go over real well there.

Most sane law-abiding Americans oppose child trafficking. But most sane law-abiding Americans also know that the idea that all sex between consenting heterosexual adults is rape is moronic and has nothing to do with stopping the rapes of children.

Ashley Judd, now the self-appointed expert on pimping, needs to stop pimping the world on the absurdities of Catharine MacKinnon. And shut up and act.

While the acting roles are shrinking for the now 44-year-old actress, one role she’ll thankfully never be cast for is Senatrix from Kentucky. For the foreseeable future, Ashley Judd is far too liberal–far too crazy!–for Kentuckians.

So if we applied her logic her father and husband are rapists? Must make for fun family reunions.

Michael on December 6, 2012 at 3:22 pm

This is all part of the left, progressive, secularist agenda to destroy God ordained purpose of having a father as priest of his household, nurturer, provider, defender and discipliner bringing his children up in the admonition of the Lord. But the agenda is to create a society so morally bankrupt and dependent on cradle to grave government care that not only do they want it, they are so dumbed down they can’t survive without it.

The agenda of the left is to create an america so corrupt it stinks and to drive this culture in a direction designed to destroy it. Fabians (whose logo is a wolf in sheep’s clothing), Alinski whose book dedicated to Lucifer “Rules for Radicals” Obama taught for years. Frankfurt School, Antonio Gramsci and Mattechine Society and Committees of Correspondence along with the fact Lenin said he would rule the world if he had Hollywood – useful idiots,

Michael, are you just going along with the crowd or do you really believe this is what Judd said? Perhaps I’m judging everyone too harshly or expecting too much of people.

Many years ago I began using a statement similar to Judd’s when female friends would complain about their husband or boyfriends leaving their clothes strewn about, not helping with the children, claiming to not be able to help cook because they can’t cook, etc. I reminded them that we as women are not blameless in this. Very close to Judd’s statement I would say, “so whose fault do you think this is? These are our sons, our brothers, our friends, our lovers. They’re not some mystery men out of nowhere. Continuing to complain to each other doesn’t create change. If you want something to change, reach out to these men and change it.”

Debbie, I don’t believe you really interpreted Ashley’s comment the way you’ve written about it here. It makes a great story with the spin you put on it, but it lacks truth. Of course, perhaps truth is not what you’re aiming for here. What you’ve demonstrated though is that there are many people who would rather allow someone else to think for them and tell them how to feel than to think for themselves.

Then this is one woman who has been raped quite a lot, on and off screen, couldn’t we say?!

Jeffrey Hardin on August 7, 2013 at 9:23 am

Would she care to make those charges in court against two consenting adults and see if the court agrees with her definition of rape?

I have found criticism of MacKinnon on being anti-pornography and changing, but so far have not found anything on her saying “that any man who has sex with an adult woman is a rapist, regardless of consent by the woman.” Is there any citation that I am missing on this claim?

WB: She’s said it in many different ways, including:

Politically, I call it rape whenever a woman has sex and feels violated.

Catharine A. MacKinnon, “A Rally Against Rape” (1981), p. 82

AND

Sexual energy is thus mobilized and displaced onto those who would supposedly deprive men of sex as men are supposedly deprived of rape. For allegedly saying this, or what is said to amount to this, women are vilified, shunned, unemployed, unpublished, scorned, trivialized, stigmatized, marginalized, threatened, ignored, personally hated by people we have never met, and unread. All this for what we do say: sexuality occurs in a context of gender inequality, a fact no hate propagandist has yet tried to rebut.

Catharine A. MacKinnon, “Women’s Lives, Men’s Laws,” page 327.

Ashley Judd is an idiot whose career is all but over. So she’s doing what so many washed-up Hollywood types do – she’s trying to get media attention by pretending she knows something about politics and current events. In order to get her to do personal appearances – which bring a few people in just because she’s a curiosity – her backers lavish her with praise about how smart she is and how she needs to get her message heard. Maybe the Dem Party has been whispering in her ear about running for office so she’ll get whatever celebrity pals she may have to donate to the party and show up for fund raising events.

But don’t discount the stupidity of the general public in Kentucky if her name ends up on the ballot. Stranger and stupider people have been elected Senator. See Minnesota.

DG in GA on December 6, 2012 at 4:47 pm

So let me get this straight from these two nutjobs Ahsley Judd and Cathrine MacKinnon, any males (that includes me) who has regular sexual intercourse with a full-grown woman is a rapists? WTF? Are you they freaking serious or pulling my leg?

Ok, I understand regular sexual-assualt and I & other sane individuals (regardless of their views) don’t support rape in general, it’s wrong ethically and it’s also against the law to rape anybody. Now Ms. Judd is planning on running for Kentucky state senate two years from now? Well if she runs, I can nearly guarantee you that the folks in Kentucky aren’t going to vote for this left wing loon because of this ultra insanity of supporting some whacko from University of Michigan who believe’s that males who engage in sexual-relations with another woman is rape (which is bullshiite)!

“A nation is defined by its borders, language & culture!”

Wikipedia (I know) says:

She (Judd) told the Sunday Mail, “It’s unconscionable to breed, with the number of children who are starving to death in impoverished countries”.

She is clearly off her rocker.

I wonder who her husband is breeding with?

panhandle on December 6, 2012 at 5:27 pm

Yup.

Kentucky will never vote for a Democratic candidate for President.

Ashley Judd will never win a US Senate seat there.

NormanF on December 6, 2012 at 5:27 pm

I could scarely contain my laughter when I read your post Debbie. Ashley Judd to me has always been your typical Hollyweird dim bulb but this takes the cake. So according to this brainiac and her friend MacKinnon all males who have consenual sex with women are rapists? And just so I’m clear because since I’m a man not only am I a rapist but I’m slow is that rape rape or just rape. You can never tell with retards like Judd. Now this brainchild wants to be a US senator from one of the reddest of red states. Good luck with that one Ashley. I think that this whackjob should just stick to acting. If that doesn’t work she could always hang out with other washed up actresses like Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon.

Ken b on December 6, 2012 at 6:04 pm

I can state as a FORMER feminist that indeed MacKinnon did espouse that ridiculous belief (that ALL heterosex is equal to the woman being raped). I believe the now deceased Andrea Dworkin did as well.

Funny, I figured out that nutter belief was queerstreet in my early 20s (not that I believed it 100%. I recall WANTING to but realizing it was too kooky for credibility) but this moron is still holding on to ANYTHING that nutcake MacKinnon said. THAT alone tells you this cRaZy biotch should NOT be taken seriously (except for her raging anger…she has that going on in spades…but uses her Liberalism to keep that fire at bay). Someone should name a volcano after her.

I wish this pseudo-intellectual WILL run for that seat. I believe she is severely mentally ill and I do not think she can mentally sustain a political campaign. GREAT. Bring it, Ashley. Watching you lose it will be worth your demise.

We all know NOW why she is angry. You can read about it in her silly book. Not sayin’ she doesn’t have a reason I just hate how she burns off her anger. I’d feel sorry for her girly Scotsman “wife” but he picked his poison. He saw her VERY pretty face never believing the unhinged anger-monster living under it all. I do not envy him AT ALL. Careful what you wish for.

I have ALWAYS seen through this fraud. She uses a huge vocabulary to pretend she is highly intellectual. BUT those who are truly intelligent can see right through her (as I have always been able to). Her writing is TERRIBLE and she has never had an independent thought in her angry life (copping long been debunked feminist beliefs from the 80s). Big words, empty, fragile brain. Couldn’t happen to a better a-hole.

Indeed, she is what a feminist looks like. Except I wouldn’t brag about it Ashley. Those dumb enough to ever think feminism was all about truth and integrity got out over 20 years ago. This nutter is still holding on to it with a king-fu grip.

Skunky on December 6, 2012 at 6:12 pm

    @Skunky–

    Well said.

Red Ryder on December 7, 2012 at 10:49 am

A few years ago, I might have agreed that Judd doesn’t have a chance. But now…

We have seen the attacks on Bain Capital apparently accepted by tens of millions of people, along with the BS about the 1%. We have seen Romney vilified, even among most Republicans, for his truthful comments about the 47% moochers.

This has probably empowered the Dems to stretch the truth even further, and come up with wilder and wilder stories for future elections. After all, if this garbage worked, they may feel emboldened to get even worse.

And unless someone is a real, real, conservative political junkie, or wacko feminist or law professor, they have probably never have heard of Catharine MacKinnon. And Judd will probably modify her views a little by 2014, and of course there is the ballooning (no pun intended) fraud factor. So I would not, by any means, write her out.

Little Al on December 6, 2012 at 6:14 pm

And don’t forget…Al Franken got elected.

Little Al on December 6, 2012 at 6:30 pm

That’s correct Little Al. That POS Franken won by fraud and the GOP (local and macro) LET it happen. As they did with Christine Gregoire in Washington. (And quite possibly this last Presidential election).

Of course your point is valid in the advent of Obama-Putin and all the crazy political shenanigans lately but your post reminded me of how genital-less the GOP really is. Just as Angry Ashley Judd likes her men (and the opposite of how the Donks portray them in their crap filled propaganda).

Skunky on December 6, 2012 at 6:48 pm

I agree with you Skunky. The Republicans will be afraid to attack her, especially after some of the things that happened in the 2012 election.

Little Al on December 6, 2012 at 7:34 pm

        @Skunky–

Don’t forget JFK v Nixon (1960). Eisenhower himself urged Nixon to fight the results—but he did not, of course, for “the good of the country.”

Massive fraud in at least Cook County, IL and portions of TX.

Red Ryder on December 7, 2012 at 10:52 am

Since Catharine MacKinnon was mentioned, I cannot help but think of her running interference for Bosnian Muslims in the 1990s Balkan war with her early 1993 Ms. magazine propaganda article in which she accused Bosnian Serbs of raping Muslim women in that country. I would not be surprised if she worked with the PR firm that represented Muslim Bosnia at the time to craft that hit piece article.

Oh, and MacKinnon was a partner-in-crime with the late, unlamented Andrea Dworkin (RIH), who was cut from the same man-hating cloth – and the same business of equating consensual sex between women and heterosexual men with rape.

As for the nutjob “actress” spotlighted in this article – it is little wonder that in some circles, she’s referred to as “Brashley” Judd.

And yet, doesn’t Planned Parenthood – which Judd also supports to the hilt – shield rapists from prosecution in cases where women were made pregnant by rape? So much for the Democrats ostensibly being the “party of women.”

ConcernedPatriot on December 6, 2012 at 6:22 pm

Perhaps Ashley and Whoopi Goldberg can debate on national TV as to what’s truly rape. We now know Ashley’s bizarre, off-the wall definition. And, Whoopi’s claim that forced sex between a 14 year old girl and a 40 year old man, “isn’t really rape, rape.” Quite a brain trust here.

Neils60 on December 6, 2012 at 7:45 pm

Catharine MacKinnon went down in flames when I was still in school. She was rightly criticized at the time for trivializing the horror of actual rape through her work, It is amazing that Ms. Judd would resurrect a crank like MacKinnon.

Worry01 on December 6, 2012 at 7:48 pm

Just like the law is whatever Joe Stalin says it is, rape is whatever the woman says it is.

Little Al on December 7, 2012 at 12:50 am

If she wants a senate seat, why would she run from KY? Does she want to get ‘raped’ in the polls by Mitch McConnell? Just run from NY or CA – Feinstein, Boxer or Schumer can’t last forever.

Infidel on December 7, 2012 at 6:23 am

Don’t discount the stupidity of the Kentucky electorate. I am a transplant from up north. Even though Kentucky voted for Romney overall, our coal-producing county went 65% for Obama. There are alot of people who simply and automatically vote “D”, without understanding what the “D”‘s stand for.

SteelMet on December 7, 2012 at 9:12 am

…….another moron heard from. She is only following in the celebutard footsteps of other politicians. After all, pop “Culture” trumps logic in electing our leaders. Just look at Washington, DC. The sheeple vote…..after heeding the “Direction” of the retards on MSNBC, Oprah, John Stewart, etc. The very fact that this cretin gets free airtime is a sad commentary on the age we live in. In desperation, maybe she’ll follow in the footsteps of Elizabeth Warren and claim to be 1/25th muslim. Then, should she be elected, she could join Mr. Ellison and form another “Caucus” in the House. Just look at today’s “Leadership” in Washington – Al Franken, Biden, Maxine Waters now ranking member of the Finance Committee, Patti Murray and Barbara boxer – the ignorami of the Senate…..the list is endless. Look at the Founding Fathers……now look at what is in government. How far we have fallen.

Robert Lefkowitz on December 7, 2012 at 9:41 am

Although this seemingly has little to do with the whole “Ms. Judd Wants to Go to Washington” saga, the recent national election results – not just Obama’s re-election but also voter approvals in certain states of “medical” marijuana and “gay marriage” – also constitute yet another set of strikes against the 26th Amendment, and wondering (paraphrasing another of Debbie’s articles in which she brought up the women’s vote) whether we’d have better people in office (and a society that was not so much in tatters and on the brink of total collapse) if not for the 18-year-old vote, as well. What this does have to do with her, is that that age bloc would flock to her automatically (whichever office she runs for in whichever year) in a millisecond, with the ignorant excuse that “she’s cool!” (among others) – proving that more often than not, 18-year-olds vote entirely with their emotions, influenced heavily by not only the likes of Oprah or Jon Stewart (to say nothing about the massive leftist indoctrination in our schools and colleges, and the unfortunate validation of the late Nazi propaganda minister Josef Goebbels’ dictum about repeating a lie over and over again to the point where everybody comes to believe it as the “truth”) but also the pompous, arrogant elitist jerk Bill Maher whose contempt and disdain for middle and small-town Americans is well nigh known – and whose hatred of any woman who does not toe the far-left party line (as Ms. Judd does) exposes his own base misogynism. That, plus what has been written in many places about the systematic infantilization of the 18-25 age group especially over the last two decades A.C. (After Clinton), the dumbing-down of the society on all levels, and so on. That Ashley Judd would even have a ghost of a chance at being elected to any office is a d***ing indictment of this situation.

ConcernedPatriot on December 7, 2012 at 9:53 am

so, according to judd’s rape theory, humanity is advanced – including her very own existence – via the process of rape?

it’s sick and poisonous thinking no matter how you try and rationalize it; but that’s what feminism looks like!

Yes Debbie, we are a Red State. Many Kentucky Democrats are more conservative than most Republicans anywhere else. However, Jefferson County/Louisville is considered the most “liberal” county in Kentucky (it’s moderately conservative). Don’t forget too that we just got rid of the grandson of AB “Happy” Chandler, Ben Chandler. He was defeated by a political nobody. “Happy” Chandler, a Democrat, was one of the most popular governors in Kentucky history (btw, Kentucky has had only 2 Republican Governors in the last 40 years). However, Mitch McConnell is in trouble here. It’s not just the Democrats who want him gone. There’s a small but growing number of Republicans who would like to see Mitch retire.

I remember MacKinnon being interviewed during the Clarence Thomas hearings in 1991. No one mentioned her vile hatred of men and traditional marriage at that time. She later advocated criminalizing certain speech. And then there’s Susan Brownmiller. I remember a history professor mentioning her book and I mocked her when I mentioned her statement about all men consciously supporting rape of women. He tried to “allegorize” what she said but even the women in the class were disgusted with Brownmiller’s views. Alas, that was in the 1970’s, when a college speaker was laughed at when mentioning the concept of “Gaia.”
